Hello, I was looking for some advice and you seem to just have so much ballet knowledge! I have a gorgeous little mini I work with. She has stunning lines and gorgeous feet. She’s about 9 and her family would like her to dance a variation for AU YGP. I know all the general variations (like most dancers) but I’m looking for some help with finding ‘an obscure and underperformed variation’ as per her parents request as they believe it will increase her chance of winning. Since “judges may award her higher as they may not recognise if she makes mistakes and the judges may award her more generously for performing a unique variation” (their opinion not mine). She isn’t on pointe as per my studios guidelines (no pointe under 11). You seem to know quite a bit and if you know anything, it’ll be greatly appreciated. Honestly though, as long as she doesn’t fall on her ass at ygp au she’ll win lmao 💀

the flora variation and hebe variation i see pretty often, but diana and aurora (blue and pink, 6:15 and 7:40 respectively) are quite underused as far as i know.

this was part of giselle at some point. i've seen it being entered at yagp as an act 2 variation from giselle, but can't find the video now.

pasquala variation from laurencia:

the footwork might be a bit quick for a 9-year-old, but you could always slow it down or simplify it.

queen of the waters variation:

(i feel like this would be very age-appropriate but might be toeing the line for being within yagp's repertoire list - this was possibly used as a variation in paquita at some point because of the crossover between ballets at the time, so you might be able to enter it as a variation from paquita?)

any of the three variations from chopiniana/les sylphides (this is particularly good if she likes to jump)

lastly, all the fairy doll variations:

it drives me crazy how the only fairy doll variation that's used in competitions is the principal one when all of them are so so cute and would be so good for the pre-competitive group! i personally really like french doll and drum bunny.

The Bride Arrives to the Winston Royal Jacoban Church!

It’s really happening! The gorgeous Princess Diana along with HM King Spencer and the expansive bridal party arrive at the church for the Royal wedding! We are in awe at how beautiful everyone looks! Let’s get closer so we can see the details.

We can see that the Princess is wearing a ballgown style dress with a long veil. Her bridesmaids are all wearing SimDonia signature red gowns. The crowd is cheering louder than ever before as the Princess and the bridal party make their way into the church. Not before smiling to the crowd, of course!

With the children of the party, we see HRH Grand Duchess Elizabeth of Sage along with Miss Lima, co-creator of the largest agricultural producer and mother to Arabella.

The children look absolutely adorable in their white with tan accent clothing. Behind is Diana’s godchild, HIH Prince Henri of Pierreland, and his twin sister, HIH Princess Maria Aisha of Pierreland (@officalroyalsofpierreland​). Holding onto Miss Lima is her grandson, Count Phillip Yancey. In the cute pink bow is HRH Duchess Elena’s daughter, April Lockwood. Walking with Grand Duchess Elizabeth is HRH Grand Duchess Bria’s daughter, HRH Duchess Rose.

1. Four Season Fountains

The fountain was constructed between 1679 and 1682 and overseen by Andre Le Nôtre who had a major influence on Versailles’ gardens under Louis XIV, whose vision of grandeur for this fountain was fulfilled later on by Louis XV.

3. Apollo's Fountain

Louis XIV, known as the Sun King, was inspired by his icon Apollo to commission Charles Le Brun to design this majestic fountain of the Sun God bursting from the water while championing his golden chariot on his daily flight to earth. As he makes his descent to earth, Apollo’s messenger can be seen blowing a horn to herald the god’s arrival to perform his daily duties towards his earthly subjects. Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who was the showstopper for Anita Dongre, looked stunning in a beautiful gold and white ensemble created by the ace designer as she provided a memorable grand finale of the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer/Resort 2017 on Sunday.

Held at the heritage structure of Bandra Fort – which served as a dramatic backdrop for the designer, who wrapped up the event with the grandeur it deserved.

Kapoor, who is the face of the Lakme Absolute, was seen walking the ramp after 46 days of giving birth to her first son Taimur Ali Khan. The 36-year-old actress made heads turn as she walked the runway in a long off-white gown paired with a beautiful gold jacket with embellishments.

Last year, Kapoor flaunted her baby bump at the grand finale of the event’s winter/festive season, where she walked for veteran designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

About bringing the curtains down this year, Kapoor said: “It feels amazing. It’s just been day 46 (post delivery) and it feels great. The idea is to do what I have been always loved to do, which is work. It is a part of my DNA, it’s a part of me. It’s never going to change.”

The actress also praised Dongre and added that the show, which was inspired by Lakme’s theme ‘Liquid Gold’, is inspiring Indian women “to be independent, work and to be out there…”

The models sashayed down 60 ensembles on the runway on classics like “What a wonderful world” played by a live musical band. The designer showcased lehenga cholis, saris, long tunics, short dresses for women and sherwanis, kurta pyjama vest coats and jackets for men. The designer chose to stick with soft hues like off-whites, ivories and gold with embellishment and intricate needlework.

“Our collection is designed in keeping with Lakmé’s theme. There’ll be a glimpse of fluid silhouettes in glazed gold, reflecting the unique flora and fauna of a securely hidden oasis within the sun-kissed, glistening sands of Rajasthan,” Dongre said about the collection.

The grand finale, which was held at the amphitheatre of the heritage site, which is also known Castella de Aguada, saw a string of Bollywood personalities like Lara Dutta, Gul Panag, Shabana Azmi, Sangeeta Bijlani, Pernia Qureshi, Manish Malhotra, Diana Penty and Pooja Hegde present.

The five-day fashion gala began on February 1 hosted over 90 designers including veterans like Tarun Tahiliani, Ritu Kumar, Payal Singhal, Falguni and Shane Peacock and many others showcasing their latest line at the event, which was held at the Reliance Jio Garden here.
