Mohg's blood was unique, not just because he was the son to the queen Marika and Godfrey, the first Elden Lord.
His blood was blessed by the Mother of Truth.
Ever since he had been blessed, his blood would burn.
It was a very special boon she had bestowed upon him. It was always a joyous thing to behold, when the masked fiends would descend from above to cull the population down below.
He would laugh as he watched them dance. Dance and scream.
Like music to his ears... He rumbled softly at the memories.
... Oh, but habits?
The Mother of Truth craved wounds.
In his youth, Mohg would oftentimes bleed himself to prove his love to his new mother. As his blood never rotted or decayed, he would often take to filling discarded pots with his own blood, using them as a means of fending off intruders.
And for long overdue amusement.
He still collects them to this very day.

"I feel like a damned monster." Godwyn said almost offhandly as he gingerly tended to a weeding deathroot from the outskirts of his new castle in the depths. It's briars sprouting and shedding right off, turning into corpseflies before he and Ariko's very eyes. Observing Godwyn's reaction, this is apparently normal.
"I cannot go anywhere around the Lands Between without people looking at me like I'm a walking corpse. I was reborn from mine highly deformed corpse, but people refuse to grasp that." He lightly twists the root in his hand, watching it as it oozed a dark fluid that emitted a foul gray mist. He takes a vial and collects the fluid.
"I peak up into Leyendell for a minute and a lady screams as she witnesses me. She must've believed she saw a damn ghost." He plugs up the vial with a cork before giving it to Arikos as requested.
"Mine apologies for the rambling. It's very quiet down here, I do not recieveth visitors often." He could feel Arikos might have big news for him, but he wasn't sure if he was ready for it or not.
@deathblightprince (thank you lol)
"...It pains me to hear that." A deep sigh. Arikos fidgets with his perfumer's knife, containing a deathroot mist, preserved for the worst of circumstances, perhaps as a subconscious mirror. He was indeed not ready to share the grim revelation yet. No, though it was inevitable, for now it would wait. "It's far from fair, but it's what they know. It does seem like most of the wisdom of the Golden Order was as superficial as the shining facades of the Royal Capital now, doesn't it? A means to heighten man's fear of what lies unknown, rather than giving them the boldness to face and understand it." Another deep breath.
"...Spoken from experience, of course. I 've been coming to grips with the grim fact that many of those past victims of my work were far from deserving, whatever I might have been told to believe from the ladies of the Fingers since my youth. By emphasizing things more viscerally horrifying without, it is much easier to conceal the horrors hidden within the world they crafted..."

🖋- If your muse was an author/poet, what kind of stories would they write about?
📕- What “Banned Books” could you see your muse reading?
Hi c:
from unusual questions [accepting!!]
“Why, I would write about the same things I study, of course,” the Vicar answers. “I would write about the cosmos, the stars, the blood, the Gods… That said, though I’ve been told I’m an eloquent speaker and excellent speechwriter, I don’t think I’m cut out for poetry, really. That’s more up Ludwig’s alley. I would probably write terribly boring nonfiction — published studies and not much more.”
A sigh. “Oh, how I wish I had a more creative mind…” he laments, a hand covering his heart. “I have always adored faerietales and stories of fantasy. I wish I had the mind to conjure up fantastic tales of heroes and dragons. Alas… I’m too scientific for my own good. I’d get too caught in the facts and skimp on the fantasy.”
He narrows his eyes lightly at the second question, as if searching for a nefarious reason why one might be asking… but decides the question harmless. He smirks. “I got into forbidden tomes quite a lot during my college days, actually,” he answers. “Wrote quite a few texts the Provost was… not happy with myself, too. About the blood, and Oedon, and the—”
The scourge… the Beast’s Embrace… all the knowledge forbidden by the Church, sealed away for nobody else’s eyes to ever, ever see…
“— … the augurs. Yes, I stumbled across many texts Provost Willem did not want us sticking our noses into lest we get curious. Needless to say, however, I did not listen, and might as well be a cat on its last life at this point.” A chuckle. “Oh, I can only hope this curiosity does not kill me… But, well, if it does, at least it’ll make for a good story, hm?”

MIND
Senses Headcanons
Mind: Does your muse act after their rationality or emotions? Why?
Malenia is someone who strives to act rationally and justly. She wants to be someone who is able to punish those who need to be punished in the ways they deserve to punished without sacrificing her ability to empathize. She wants to be better than her mother, who seemed unwilling to forgive or understand minor differences in either form or thought. She wants to be someone who her people trust.
However, she also wants to be someone who can be counted on to make the difficult choices, the one who can put aside her own sympathies in order to properly mete out justice or do what is necessary. This is mostly for Miquella's sake: as the beacon of acceptance that he represents, she wants to do everything in her power to ensure he never has to sacrifice that image he has cultivated.
All of this being said, Malenia is more emotional than she'd ever care to admit. Her entire campaign against Radahn (which I will break down my understanding of in a separate post) was ultimately an act of emotion. Her being willing to resort to the Scarlet Rot in order to achieve victory proves this in my eyes; she would have had to be deathly desperate to resort to unleashing the thing she hates most upon a brother she respects. Her enmity towards Mohg and her love for Miquella are both strong enough to overwhelm any sense of logic or reason she possesses, especially in the present day of Elden Ring.
Unfortunately, when Malenia gets truly emotional, Bad Things tend to happen.

Based on @floodedatmidnight ‘s headcanon that post-Duskborn Godwyn has trouble sleeping. Despite being their opposite in basically every way, Trina is like her cousins (?) in that she is basically a cat.

edelweiss : what was the bravest moment in your muse’s life ? are they known to be courageous from then on ?
This is a TOUGH one.
Pre-Tarnishing, the decision to try and infiltrate the would-be Black Knives all on his lonesome was as brave as it was a foolish endeavor; because of how wrong this went, he tends to be a lot more cautious from then on.
Post-Tarnishing, I think it's less of a bombastic act and more the quiet determination to decide to keep on moving forward after everything he took for granted fell apart that defines him, one he has to keep making every day.

Hi! Fav character asks for Godwyn: 3, 44 & 45?
Hi Mara! Thanks for the ask!
3. What first drew you to this character?
I initially didn't pay much attention to Godwyn. My first impression was "perfect boyscout." And that's fine if that's your thing, but it's not really mine (I like characters with issues lol).
Then @floodedatmidnight shared the gospel of Godwyn as the family golden child, struggling to live up to his father's legacy and his mother's expectations, trying to shield Malenia and Miquella from the worst of the dysfunction, all while maintaining the perfect facade.
That's what I'm here for. The parentified oldest sibling angst.
44. Which season makes you think of this character?
Definitely summer. Warmth, clear skies, golden light. In his Duskborn form, I'd say winter, especially the tail end of winter around late January/early February.
45. Do you feel as if you are intimately familiar with this character?
With my headcanon version? I feel qualified to write up his psychological profile and diagnose his mental illness.
In reality? No. There's just not enough canon information to paint a full picture of his character. We know that he got on well with dragons and that Malenia and Miquella remember him fondly (both points in his favor), but that's basically it.
Hopefully the DLC gives us a few more crumbs.
Thank you for the ask!

Dare:
Give your daddy a hug >:3
from truth or dare [accepting!!]
Sigh. Sigh. Siiiiigh. “Fine.”
His steps are melodramatically heavy, trudging like a soldier through muck, as he approaches his father with fists clenched. One might think he’s on his way to attack given the expression on his face. But instead…
Arms open wide with a fourth and final sigh. “Father?” he asks, assuming his body language speaks for itself.

✍ @deathblightprince but as Godwyn the Golden who is already dead and he's just writing a letter to get his thoughts out onto paper.
[A blood-splattered note, recovered by a Knight of Leyndell from the temporary holding cell of one Arikos after his unexpected death at the hands of vigilantes.]
Godwyn the Golden, You're dead, you're dead. That's what the whole city's been saying, or so I've heard from this clink.
And if I hadn't been such a damned fool, it might not have come to pass. If I hadn't let her lure me too deep into my cover, if I'd sounded the whistle earlier to my brethren in the church. If I'd figured out who under the Erdtree their damnable "benefactor" was, who somehow got away with pilfering Destined Death itself. (The Godskins? The Nox? One of the Demigods? Someone else entirely? I never got enough evidence, damn it.)
If I'd killed at least ONE, even two of the Black Knives the night of, instead of one of your guards. Perhaps then, it'd still be a crisis, but not this...not this colossal mess. And I get the sinking feeling this is only the start of something worse. I have no idea when they'll get to my trial, they're all probably busy trying to find everyone else involved and can't even find someone qualified and available to preside. Hopefully, justice will properly done in this; even if my chance is now gone. Whether I'm dead, locked away forever, or something else; whatever my would-be judge ends up deciding.
[Update: Prison for eternity in an Evergaol, once they actually get one ready. Still stuck waiting here for Fingers know how much longer.] I'm so, very, very sorry.
~ Arikos, Now-Disgraced

mind?
mind: does my muse have any mental conditions that affect their lives? what are they? how do they handle them? what coping methods do they use most?
"I mean not to be pompous or disparaging when I say that among my family I feel I may claim one of the healthier minds to be had. Rarely if ever do I let my anger overpower my good judgement, and even when it doth rear its beastly head I turn it towards that which I know will help. It matters not whether good is done out of compassion or spite, only that it is done. Harm is much the same."
Miquella pauses and frowns a little before continuing. "'Tis not to say am not without my moments. On the rare occasion I truly rest in my sleep my dreams tend to be plagued with visions of helplessness, and I awake frantic and grasping for my sister and a task of import I can set my troubled mind to. Aside from my sister, who is my other half, my greatest love is my work, and if ever I were to lose either I fear I'd lose claim to my status among the soundest of the demi-gods."
#ask memes#floodedatmidnight#what miquella didn't say:#he's absolutely codependent on his sister#and is a massive workaholic that doesn't really rest even in his dreams

@floodedatmidnight I didn't mention him cause he's a non-character with the most you can say about was that he fought for the golden order making him at the very least a participant in the empire and its violence
the assessment of miquella as now the most evil demigod is honestly funny when the revelations about only put him around Ranni in terms of evilness
like he's still a shit person but he's arguably the only demigod objectively trying to improve the state of the world and viewing him as the most evil requires ignoring what the other demigods actually did.
Morgott perpetuates the violence and xenophobia of golden order, killing any tarnished who seeks to end the world's terrible state.
Mohg founded a murder cult who's effect on people and the landscape is second only to scarlet rot and deathblight in terms of devastation
Rykard has a whole castle dedicated to torture and has now become a monster that wants to destroy the whole world
Ranni's assasstination plan caused literally all of the destruction in the game and as far we're aware she's completely indifferent to it all because it'll further her goals, which are admittedly somewhat beneficial to the world
Radahn is noted to be a nice guy but it is proudly stated that he is a warmonger and a perpetual forever war is what would make him happiest, which paints his actions in the shattering in a very different light, as violence for the sake of violence.
Messmer engaged in a genocide so brutal nit even the golden order will admit to it.
Malenia waged war on Miquella's behalf, though we only know of two, against godrick who deserved it, and Radahn, the one she was ordered to kill. She unleashed the scarlet rot to kill him, but it's unclear if knew the devastation it would cause and her statement on her nightmare indicates she may not think highly of said devastation.
Like miquella is objectively a shit person but the assessment of him as the worst is built off of recency bias, whiplash at the revelation and the fact he hurt two characters we like, unlike the nameless masses with the other demigods
