I want to see more of Wukong interacting with the general public of heaven and surprising them more and more with how wrong they were in their assumptions of his character. Like I can imagine the plumhill boys and/or peach madens wanting to hang out with him again and setting up a picnic in one of the public gardens just to run into some nasty noble or smth. I like to think that besides the Havoc itself, the peach madens were actually pretty cool with their little monkey boy, bonus points if they called him baby brother or considered him One Of The Girls(tm) since if I remember correctly the jade emperor had no sons therefore the peach madens had no brothers but then one day this funky, clever little monkey dude was given the same job as them with a fancy title and they're like "Aw this ones ours now🍑❤️🧡💛💚💙💜" wukong is just so "Please like and adopt me, idk what I'm doing" coded even if he is competent and self sustaining, he's just so cute, look at his little face!

To them, he is very much one of the girls. Wukong is very happy they still feel that way about him.

Nezha brought Wukong to a café in the Celestial Realm one gentle morning. Sun Wukong had been slowly getting more used to using mobility devices in public. They were chatting while Wukong sat in the rollator anxious about his surroundings. He hadn't made many public appearances at this point and was concerned with how the other celestials who noticed him felt about his presence, especially in his current condition.

An elderly woman entered the café with who appeared to be a descendant of hers and just... stared at Wukong. Deer in the headlights kind of look. The young man only took a quick glance before turning to his elder.

"Grandmother, there's no line."

"Whatever is Nezha doing with that thing?"

"Grandmother, he's a monkey, not a thing. And I'm certain the Marshall has a good reason for the company."

"Hmm.... I'll go ask him."

"WAIT, GRANDMA NO!!!"

Wukong ducked his head and awaited the inevitable. Nezha noticed and scooted into a more protective position next to him.

'Grandma' bombarded Nezha with a million different questions about Wukong. Nezha answered her patiently, not wanting any trouble. Her grandson looked embarrassed.

Luckily, the grandmother seemed content with Nezha's answers and walked away when finished. The grandson apologized profusely for his grandmother's behavior.

Twentyish minutes later, the grandmother returned and placed a cookie in front of Wukong and pinched his cheek.

"Now, you keep being a good boy and get well soon. Alright, dear?"

"Yes, ma'am. I will."

Nezha had dropped Wukong off at the Demon Bull Family's place while he went to another boring meeting. As usual, he eavesdroped on the other celestials while he waited for things to get started.

The rumors were different than normal.

"Did you hear that The Monkey King is sick? The poor thing!"

"Wukong's living with Nezha now? How sick is that guy? Do you think he'll be okay?"

"You should have seen him in the market the other day, all cozy with his blanket holding onto Nezha! Oh, he's the cutest!"

"I was planning on dropping off some medicine at Nezha's place for Wukong if you wanna come with."

"Gods, I hope that The Monkey King feels better soon. Even my children have been praying for him."

Nezha smiled. These weren't the tones his dearest friend was usually spoken about with. It was a nice change. If only Wukong had heard it himself.

I feel like everyone would be baffled by the way FloaPS!Nezha and FloaPS!Wukong just... share and enjoy the mundanities of life.

Wukong can't do much since he's sick and wheelchair bound, and Nezha's own health fluctuates, so they've learned to just enjoy and talk about the most minor and seemingly boring parts of everyday life.

Little bit of FloaPS Lore:

When Ao Lie was still alive, he and Wukong would sit outside in the mornings and have tea and snacks together before their children woke up (and all hell broke loose).

Wukong does the same with Nezha. Only now, there is not really a time limit on how long they can spend sitting, talking, and drinking tea.

Their most recent unbelievably in-depth conversation was about soup. Yes, soup. Not for any reason in particular, it just came up.

It’s both so sweet and so sad. Nezha not being the best of health some days, and Wukongs wheelchair bound state just… chilling, making the best of their lives even if it’s not the grand adventures

To no suprise, the Lionsword couple are the ones who relate the hardest. Having fought for so long in war and the personal battles along the way… yeah, they can understand. And LS!Jing is happy his son has found someone who understands him, even if it’s not romance.

AAAAAAAAAA SO FREAKING CUTE! Being spotted snuggled in a blanket at the market and janging on to Nezah so he doesnt get lost! Oh my HEART! The mental image!😭 The almost karen giving him a cookie and pinching his cheeks!? I CAN'T!😭 He's just a nervous and traumatized little therapy monkey! Like when you adopt from the pound and suddenly the "aggressive" animal is the sweetest bean in the world bc he finally feels safe.

It makes me laugh, though, because I can imagine any part of wukong's support system updating outsiders start to sound like Wonky Wednesdays from Megan on TikTok. They're so silly.

Moving on I personally love the headcanon that the plum hill boys used to invite Little Wukong to play sports and games with them back when he was a stable boy bc they thought the little guy was cute but he also kept up really well (AirBud ass monkey) but now they made gentler versions of the games so they can still play and give him exercise on good days.🥰🥺

Wukong loves playing with the Plum Hill Boys, and whoever else is willing to play with him! Games used to be much more intense than they are now.

When his condition allows, he likes playing catch with them. Any game that doesn't involve much running around can be good.

Plum Hill gets more snow than Flower Fruit Mountain, so snowball fights and sledding are both fun. Though since Wukong doesn't have much fur left, the boys make sure to bundle him up tightly. Wouldn't want an already sickly monkey getting frostbitten! Igloos are fun to make, too.

Erlang Shen once helped strap Xiaotian Quan to a sled for Wukong to ride in. Snowy conditions can make it hard to use mobility devices. Wukong enjoyed the ride.

Has macaque ever been home super late before, and Li Jing get very nervous over it? And when Mac gets bothered thinking he’s being overprotective, Jing just goes all “I just want to make sure you’re safe” and Mac just melts.

It was one in the morning, and Macaque still wasn't back yet.

Li Jing called his son at around ten to talk to Wukong about Macaque's late night outing, to which the other monkey responded:

"Yeah, he did this all the time back when we were married. Don't worry. He'll come back eventually, but don't expect it to be while you're still awake."

Jing didn't know that the two were ever married to begin with, let alone that they at some point had gotten divorced.

Even then, Jing didn't, no, couldn't just fall asleep while Macaque was still out there.

3am...

4am...

5-*whoosh*

Jing had almost given in to Wukong's advice of just leaving it be when he heard that sound. That wonderful sound of Macaque's shadow teleportation.

Jing: Macaque! *runs to him*

Mac: Jingle Bells? What's up? Is something wr-

Jing: *hugs him tightly*

Mac: Jing? What the heck, man?

Jing: Why did you take so long to come back? Where were you? What happened?

Mac: *pulls back from hug* I was just out for a stroll, no biggie.

Jing: *raises voice a bit* Well, it's big to me!

Mac: *getting defensive* It's fine! Nothing happened, and I can take care of myself.

Jing: *with genuine concern* I know you can, but I still worry! At least let me know when you're leaving and where you're going!

Mac: *even more defensive* Why?! Why do you worry about me?!

Jing: *quiets a bit* I... I just want to make sure you're safe.

Macaque could practically hear the walls around his heart cracking and crumbling.

Tears welled up in his eyes, and his face felt warm.

Mac: Really? Like, you're serious, you just want me to be safe?

Jing: *notices his teary eyes* Yes, yes, I do.

Jing: *holds his arms out, offering a hug*

Mac: *leans into hug* *starts crying*

Jing: *holds him* *wipes away his tears as they fall*

As for FloaPS, I try to have the characters, especially Wukong, be grateful for what they have and the people in their lives.

Macaques are naturally protective of their troop, especially partners. Heavens forbid if someone goes after Wukongs loved ones, because he’s still needs he great sage no matter his condition.

But macaque is also his equal right? So if someone were to mess with Jing, they’d end up having a really bad day.

Wukong wouldn't take a loved one getting hurt sitting down. Even if he has to use 110% of his energy to get out the door to kick their asses, he will. It hasn't happened yet, but if it did...

Macaque is still at full strength, so he's someone you seriously don't want to mess with. Jing unknowingly got his own bodyguard monkey.

Had a thought, does Wukong have anyone that treats him like a beloved cat but like in an unhinged way?

Like I can imagine someone picking him up without warning, stretchy cat style, and calling him names that's any diabolical string of words but his actual name. Maybe he's not fully present, like half asleep or something, but he can't get mad at what he's being called bc it's just that absurd. Maybe it's more cutesy. Like DBK scooping him up for a bath and, copying what he's seen online, goes "Stinky. Stinky baby man. Mr. Stink." To tease him. Or one of the Plum Hill Boys giving him agressive pets in their lap and going "tiny bastard man. Evil boi" How would Wukong even react?

Mostly Nezha, surprisingly. Bathtime teasing is almost mandatory at this point.

Once Nezha and Wukong were comfortable enough with each other, Nezha started teasing Wukong in ways he knew Wukong wouldn't take to heart. He only does this when he thinks they're alone.

At the Demon Bull Palace:

Nezha: *sniffs Wukong's head* Oof, stinky mister. Bathtime! *picks up Wukong*

SWK: *chirps*

Nezha: Mister stinky needs a bathy-bath!

SWK: *blows raspberry*

Nezha: You're getting a bath, smelly nugget!

SWK: *sniffs Nezha's hair* *fake retches*

Nezha: I don't smell that bad!

SWK: Sweaty man, icky tailless monkey!

Nezha: Am not!

SWK: Are too!

Nezha: There! Done.

PIF: Good. Now it's the icky tailless monkey's turn.

This only applies to family + Nezha. No one else is allowed to talk to Wukong like that.

They may call him a baby, they may call him kind and endearing things, but they can not refer to Wukong in a teasing manner.

Being called naughty or similar mean terms aren't allowed by anyone, even family.

Wukong was called so many hurtful things over the course of his life regarding his behavior that it's a bit of a sore point for him. Being called the wrong term can sometimes trigger his ptsd. Tang Sanzang and Zhu Bajie used to call him certain things right before the circlet was activated, so those phrases are an absolute no-go.

Ao Lie used to tend to Wukong's wounds while calling him a "smelly boy" and a "fluffy monkey baby". So babying terms are alright and sometimes preferred by him. They make him feel safe.

Wukong making flowers crown for everyone

Oh, he absolutely does this!

The lock screen on Nezha's phone features him and Wukong wearing flower crowns. Nezha's is made of daffodils, and Wukong's is made of grape hyacinth.

A solid half of Red Son's baby pictures show him with flower crowns and bracelets.

Demon Bull King's head is so big that daisies are barely noticeable in his fluff.

Princess Iron Fan doesn't like anything or anyone touching her hair, so Wukong settles for making flower bracelets for her.

Three's Good Company

Rumble wasn't quite sure how to go through with this...

He was scared for his mama's health, too scared to stay away forever.

Rumble is far more shy and meek than his twin, but he couldn't be away from his mom any longer. It was eating away at his conscience. It's the duty of an adult son to make sure their mother's cared for in times of need... right?

Still, he was anxious, too anxious to just walk up to the door and say hi.

He tried a trick his father taught him, hiding in shadows to get where he wanted to be.

Wukong knows his babies.

Wukong knows their energies.

He crafted those energies in his womb.

He knows when his babies are near.

Wukong politely requested that Nezha let him have some alone time. Nezha gave him a baby monitor and left him in his lounging room with food and water.

Wukong got to work making a nest out of pillows and blankets on the floor.

When he finished, he turned on a lamp and positioned it behind him so that his shadow was before him.

SWK: Hello, my baby. I missed you.

Ru: *pokes his head out of his shadow*

Ru: Mama?

SWK: *lovingly* Hi.

SWK: *trots over to nest* *curls up and pats the space beside him*

Ru: *scampers over*

SWK: *pulls a blanket over his son*

Ru: *snuggles into Wukong's chest*

SWK: *holds Rumble* *strokes his fur gently*

SWK: *starts singing*

Ru: *nestles closer* *starts chirping in harmony*

Nezha opened the door ever so slightly to check on Wukong. He heard the second voice chirping over the monitor.

He peeked in and saw Wukong singing to a smaller black-furred monkey.

Nezha: *points to Rumble* Peru?

SWK: Rumble.

Nezha: Dang it!

(Peru is Savage's eldest son. He's named after the country Savage met Peru's mom in. Camila is not Peru's bio mom.)

Ru: *hides under blanket*

SWK: Shhhhh, it's okay. *motions for Nezha to enter*

Nezha: *comes in and kneels besides them*

SWK: *holds Nezha's hand* I'd never let someone I didn't trust wholeheartedly so close to you.

SWK: I will keep you safe in my presence.

SWK: Always and forevermore.

Ru: *pulls blanket away from his face*

Ru: *chirps at Nezha*

Nezha: *chirps back*

Ru: *giggles*

Nezha was much nicer than Rumble expected him to be. He was glad someone so sweet was taking care of his mama.

Rumble groomed what remained of Wukong's fur as Wukong did the same with Nezha.

Grooming trains were always fun.

Bet Jing doesn’t complain tho. He misses having someone to come home too, especially after Nezha moved out. Still, Macaque wonders if Jing will ever get tired of him. Then it’s the generals turn to comfort the sad Monkie!

Macaque: I eat your food, shed everywhere, and now I can’t even take care of myself. Why would you want me around?

Li Jing was brushing out a knot in Macaque's fur when the question was asked.

"Aren't you tired of me?"

Mac: Even before then, I pranked you, I ate your food, the... stuff I wasn't even offered.

Mac: I make a mess, too, and I know you like a tidy space. My fur gets everywhere, I'm a messy eater, I rarely clean up after myself...

Mac: And you've been having to care for me these past few weeks... it's not fair to you.

Mac: There's... a lot of reasons for you to be fed up with me and want me to leave.

Mac: So... aren't you? Tired of me, I mean?

Jing: No, I wouldn't be ever.

Mac: Really? You can be honest, I'm not fishing for comfort-

Jing: I am being honest with you.

Jing: *softly* Socks, that’s why I want you around. You bring life to this empty place. Before you, I spent all my time at work because I couldn’t stand being alone here. *gently pets Macaque* I was miserable.

Mac: *starts shedding tears*

You mentioned Nezha also doesn’t have the best health. Have they (Wukong and Nezha) ever had a day where they were both just particularly sick that day?

Yes, they have. It happens a bit in Part 12, but that's one where Wukong is less sick than Nezha for once.

They have had days where neither of them were able to care for themselves or each other.

Once, they both woke up too sick to move. Nezha tried reaching for his phone to call his father for help, but it was charging on the table on the opposite side of the room, too far away to get to.

They just laid there in their suffering. Wukong wasn't necessarily muted by his sickness, but he found it hard to talk. Nezha talked enough to keep they both of them entertained until they fell asleep together.

Demon Bull King had gotten in the habit of calling Nezha to check in on his brother. Nezha woke up to the sound of his phone ringing on the table. Wukong heard it, too.

Knowing that this could be their chance to call for help, Wukong grabbed his plushie with his tail and tossed it at the phone.

He made the shot! The phone was answered, and Nezha yelled for DBK to send help.

Red Son and Princess Iron Fan were there in an instant, DBK was waiting outside since he was too big to fit in the house.

Chrisis (kinda) averted!

Iron Fan and Red Son helped in whatever ways they could, even spoon feeding Wukong as Nezha often did when Wukong found it hard to move.

After that whole fiasco, Red Son made a special "S.O.S. Button" wristband for Nezha just in case this were to happen again.

Which it did. A little more often than he'd like. The Demon Bull Family never minded. They just wanted Nezha and Wukong to have the help they need when they need it.

When Wukong wears a cute outfit: Fabulous. Beautiful. Happy as a clam. He pretty!

When macaque where’s an outfit: Angy. Unamused. why did he agree to this?

Wukong doesn't mind playing dress-up one bit! Macaque on the other hand...

Unfortunately for Macaque, Jing is much more enthusiastic about dressing him up than Nezha is about Wukong.

Wukong mostly wears ordinary human clothes with a few accessories here and there to make him feel pretty. Nezha will sometimes buy matching accessories for them to wear together.

Macaque is forced to wear more costume outfits and doesn't like it one bit. Jing isn't too into matching with Macaque, though.

The cat monkey that Nezha got vs the one Jing got.

Wukong is the sweet gentle bby who enjoys flowers, hates being in the way, and loves baths.

Meanwhile macaque is the mean stray who purposefully pops out and scares random guards and advisors. Randomly lays in the middle of the hall and makes people trip on him. Hates baths.

Li Jing's and Nezha's monkeys have very different personalities, that's for sure.

Jing kind of assumed he'd be getting a monkey similar to Wukong, but nope.

He somehow managed to get the most feral monkey in existence, and he has no regrets about it.

A bit of FloaPS Facts for you: (This is all after Macaque has grown to be comfortable with Jing, btw)

Both Jing and Nezha got cat trees in their houses after getting their monkeys

They can't have regular trees, so they figured it was the next best thing

Both monkeys love their cat trees

Wukong can't climb very well anymore, so Nezha will (gently) plop him down on one of the shorter towers for his "tree time"

Macaque gets zoomies on occasion and knocks over his cat trees, and yells until Jing puts it back up

Macaque shape shifts to be regular monkey size so he can more easily climb the cat trees and Jing

Wukong used to shape shift to be smaller, but his illness took away his ability to do that

Macaque likes sitting on Jing's shoulders and will sometimes groom his hair. Jing's hair is longer than Nezha's, so it takes longer to groom it all

Wukong likes having his hair brushed, but Macaque doesn't

Since Wukong is a lot more needy due to his various health issues, it took Jing a while to figure out what is and isn't necessary when caring for a normal(ish) monkey

Wukong started trusting Jing more after he showed that he understands boundaries with care for disabled people

Jing always tests the waters when caring for both monkeys and is quick to back off when they show discomfort

Understanding boundaries is a good way to get on Wukong's good side

Jing brought home an assortment of fruits to figure out which ones Macaque likes, and was surprised he liked bananas so much (he thought monkeys liking bananas was just a stereotype like how rabbits like carrots)

Nezha live sat his own place right? Does Li Jing ever do that parent thing of just arriving unannounced?

Often.

This has led to some very awkward interactions.

This is what led to him finding out Wukong was staying at Nezha's house in the first place.

"Good morning, my son. What are you up to this fine- WHAT IS THAT MONKEY DOING HERE????!!!!!"

Wukong was fast asleep on the couch. He was suffering another migraine and fell asleep almost immediately after the pain meds kicked in because of how exhausted he was.

Nezha explained everything to his father, including how he had Wukong move in with him so he could take care of his friend.

Li Jing wasn't very happy about this. He didn't trust Wukong in the slightest. But then he saw Wukong's tear-stained face sleeping and Nezha's own expression at the sight and decided it would be alright if the monkey stayed. And if Nezha ever needed anyone to watch Wukong for him, Jing would be happy to help.

Nezha never left Wukong alone in his care.

He doesn't trust his father to be kind and empathetic towards Wukong, which is the thing he really needs.

Another time, Jing showed up unannounced only to find Nezha crying over Wukong's medical records on the table.

Jing wordlessly read the documents to see the words "future surgery" on one of them and knew that's what his son was crying about.

Jing put his hand on Nezha's shoulder and held him as he cried.

Nezha asked him for help finding a good doctor for Wukong's surgery since he refused to trust just anyone with his friend.

Jing did just that.

Nezha never really cared enough about his own health to have something like that, but with Wukong in the picture, he's a lot more careful about his health.

Amazing what a great friend and roommate can do to a person.

Jing just wants his son to be happy 😭

Nezha’s out and proud! Even if jing may not completely understand, Nezha’s comfortable with who he is and how he lives. And honestly the way he explained his relationship to jing is just so wholesome. 🥺

Makes you wonder if their love sparks a desire for Jing to also have a partner 👀 (jkjk)

(Also i noticed how much Jing seems to emphasize that he loves Nezha. Guess the world nearly ending makes you realize how dumb pride is eh?)

I have a habit of projecting onto Nezha, so I gave him one thing I've always wanted but never had the chance to have: a parent that's safe to come out to and is supportive.

And yeah, the world nearly ending will show you what's really important (for some people).

Everyone ought to have someone to go through life with; Wukong has Nezha, DBK has PIF, and Sandy has Mo. That relationship can be very different depending on who it is and what they want from a partner, and if Jing ever wants one, maybe he'll get one, but who knows who or how that'll play out. If it happens, it likely won't be featured in FloaPS.
