gathering courage to actually post something au-related for once. still don't like how the end result looks, but eh.

DISCLAIMER: these are animatronics/AIs themselves, NOT the souls possessing them!

this au is called the flipside and it's very self-indulgent with lots of personal projecting and hcs. it's mainly puppet-centric because puppets are my favorite type of animatronics in the whole feddyverse and i lack self-control

i gave the ouppets actual names because yes. The og one with rosy cheeks is named Charles. He picked the name himself partially because he wanted to honor Charlotte, and partially because at some point they both had trouble differentiating between her ghost and his code, you know, the joys of a ghost kid and a sentient ai sharing a body. The lore for him is basically the same as the source material with a few minor tweaks: security system unit, tasked with keeping an eye on kids, failed his task successfully and broke down, got possessed by the girl he failed to keep safe, was fixed and repurposed for the prize corner, brought back the missing kids with the power of friendship ghost bs, played a part in killing nightguards, avoided being disassembled along with toys, somehow survived fazbears frights burning down, was essentially homeless, went offline as an ai shortly before getting captured by Lefty, then died in the ffps fire anyway.

The one with blue cheeks is named Vincent (he was named that by his manufacturers from the start because he was originally intended to be an "aged up" Vinnie. He never made it past a couple of test runs before the company behind Candy's changed their mind and decided that bringing back a character that is associated with a person that killed two people and lied to authorities would be very insensitive, even if it was essentially a reboot. Besides, the character wasn't even that popular to begin with, so retconning him wouldn't be a big deal, right? Essentially, Vincent is a reject without even a chance to see the stage. The entity in the conveyor belt footage known as "blue/reverse puppet"? That's Vincent, or at least it seems to be him. Vincent became sentient from an unknown bug during one of the test runs, spent his whole life hiding from factory workers, then welcomed his "death" with open hands when the factory burned down in 2007.

Ahhh, Flipside AU thoughts.

The panic of Sonic existing without a body. Everything feels fuzzy and cold as a ghost, and his screams go unheard. No one can see him.

...Until Shadow comes in.

Sonic's ghost is able to be seen on a specific wavelength of Chaos energy. Imposter Sonic is able to tap into it, however doesn't bother. Shadow, however, manages to stumble into it on accident.

During a scuffle against Eggman, Sonic is running around the battlefield, yelling out to others despite being, well, a ghost. At least his Imposter is going his job for him, even though it's just to keep him from suspicion.

When Shadow charges up a Chaos Blast, his heart nearly stops. He sees the flickering form of the real Sonic before him, he hears the real Sonic crying out.

It's enough of a distraction for him to get dogpiled by badniks. Woopsie.

Cookie Flipside: Light Cream Cookie

Was inspired off of a branched idea from this ask as well as this comic that features a more sour Light Cream if you want a mental image of how it would look like.

Essentially Light Cream Cookie, in a bid of hopefully bringing House Scone back from the brink, goes along with Elder Custard’s method of education and training Clotted Cream Cookie.

His success had gotten to her head, acting professional and cold around Clotted Cream, believing that logic mattered more then feelings.

Unfortunately, this was your son and this was something that YOU had problems with, wanting Light Cream to be there for Clotted during his times of need and not treat him as a tool to maintain her House’s reputation. She didn’t want to listen, thinking she wasn’t doing anything wrong. And you were her spouse! Aren’t you supposed to be her biggest defender and supporter of her dreams?! Some partner you were….

“You can’t keep doing this to him! You need to stop acting like a stranger to your own son! He needs his mother to be there for him!”

“I’m doing this for his own good, you know House Custard is already pouring a lot of coins to make him the best that he can be!”

“For his own good?! I refuse to believe that you are doing this just for our boy. House Scone being brought back from the brink surely has nothing to do with this decision.”

“So what! Do you want to see my family fall and be forgotten?! To end up like House Abalone, is that what you wanted? Do our vows mean nothing to you? If you don’t like what I’m doing for everyone’s sake, then you’re free to leave…

“…Fine.”

“What?”

“I’m leaving, Light Cream Cookie. It’s over between us.”

You left the Creme Republic since that day, never looking back. It pained you dearly to never say goodbye to Clotted Cream Cookie face to face, but knowing what you just pulled, you wouldn’t be welcomed anywhere near him….

Until years later, where Custard Cookie III gave you a letter…

“It has been some time since you were last here in the republic, Y/N Cookie. It would be pleasant if you could visit to come see how much progress Clotted Cream Cookie has made since you last saw him. He is most eager to see you once more after all this time and he isn’t alone. Your..ex-wife, Light Cream Cookie, has also been requesting that I send you this letter. She wants to apologize for her foolish behavior and hopefully make amends with you. You are under no obligation to come, but it would please the two if you did. Sincerest regards, Elder Custard Cookie of House Custard.”

“Are we going, Y/N Cookie?”

“N-no, Custard III. You don’t need to worry about this at least until your coronation….it’s a long story…”

Flipside Maxwell!

As stated in a previous post, Maxwell in Flipside was the result of Wilson fragmenting William’s mind. William was desperate to have the power and confidence to make him a great magician. So... Wilson gave him that in the most twisted way possible.

Maxwell has all the traits William desired. Charming, powerful and confident in himself. However, Maxwell also came with less than desired traits. Mainly the monster like attributes (Pointed ears, slit eyes, sharp teeth and shadow hands.), the larger than life ego and being rather... unhinged at times.

Maxwell functions as a bit of defense mechanism for William. William is capable of defending himself in The Constant but during the more intense moments is when Maxwell tends to come out and wreck house with his magic. Not to say Maxwell doesn’t come out when things aren’t tense. He’ll tend to rear his head if William’s sanity takes a dip or sometimes when William is too tired to move he’ll take over. 

For a time the two weren’t really aware of each other but both noted having moments of blacking out and waking up somewhere they didn’t remember being. Eventually they put two and two together and well... for a bit they didn’t really know how to handle each other. 

Though thankfully with time and learning how to communicate with each other they eventually work out a means of functioning together as a team and becoming good friends. 

More details on the two at a later date but for the time being happy with this look for Max. Like William I wanted him to have some differences from his canon appearance. Nothing major just different coloring and slight outfit modifications.
