Seeing your recent blogpost (the one where Peepers gets ticketed) I have come to share my WoY headcanons cause I don't really have friends who watch WoY. Buckle up! This might take a bit, but I figure You'd enjoy it. Alright, so, seeing that scene made me ask the same questions you are asking, dang what even are villains? Are they dictators? Small time criminals? Colonisers? My personal headcanon- criminal organisations. in my reading of WoY, the galaxy -calling it Yonder from now on- is actually like a bad neighborhood to the rest of the universe, villains run the place, they have their own ranking system for flargs sake! there are high ranking villains that are like the mafia (Sourdough/Entozoa), small local organisations (Awesomes party squad) and sizeable gangs (the Hater Empire). Why is Yonder overrun with criminal acvtivity? The Space Race (capital letters), as some planets got out there first, they started to expand and generally get wealthy, leaving other smaller planets with less. Those smaller planets decided they've had enough and started using violent means to get resources from other planets. As the years went by, many (not all) forgot why they were doing it in the first place, young people saw villainy as a way to get clout and kept the whole thing going alongside their elders who were still pissed about becoming third world planets. Not all third-world planets did this, but those were soon exploited by those who did. Thats sorta my reasoning for why the people of Yonder don't really have any kind of galaxy-wide laws, everyone is used to villains and why crime is just sorta ok. Bonus headcanon: Sylvia is on SFEFs wnated list for her time as a bounty-hunter
Actually nvm, this is kinda stupid, hope it was at least entertaining 👍
THIS THIS THIS ABSOLUTELY bro how did u manage to put into practical words so well. i rlly like that idea that the woy galaxy is basically overflowing w villains to the point they basically set their own rules, n i can def see kids just growing up wanting to be villains like its a profession where the moneys at, cuz if u think of it that way villainy became bascally the desireable n most profitable way of living in a galaxy basically ruled by bad guys. also i actually thought maybe sylvia would even side w SFEF at first, cuz she seems to not be as willing to believe i redemption as wander n i feel like especially after dominator shed support the idea of getting villains under control by force, cuz yk,, sometimes an enemy is just an enemy. but i can def see her being on their wanted list later on, maybe when they start taking full of control of the galaxy n gradually targeting more ppl who arent even villains in the first place --- the fact that sylvia used to be a bounty hunter would just serve as a convenient excuse. nut thats just the idea i have of SFEF in my head idk we rlly dont have anything to base stuff off of sadly

Does Lelilana exist in the same universe as wander over yonder cause I heard her use some of the swears the show used like "flarg", If so, have you ever considered doing a crossover comic or at least an art piece?
I try and keep oc stuff like this in it's own universe but it's a big universe so who knows? I like adding in references when it makes sense so keep an eye out
As for a crossover comic or art piece, yea, that could b doable, I just need to figure out what to do that seems interesting.
Flarp and the other fake swear words are from WoY (and other sci-fi shows that use it) since it sounds like a good alien replacement for fuck and it's just fun to say/write. Which is y there's the confusion on which 'verse she's in.

Ghost Busters
A prompt from user Kelly on ao3
Edit: I didn't originally mean for this to get spooky, but it did. Maybe reconsider reading this at night if you get easily spooked
***
Desan looked over the calendar. Booked out for another two moors. Wow. She really thought clients would have started going elsewhere once they found out the wait was more than a decacycle or two. They must be getting desperate.
The comm lines rang again. It seemed like they rang more often than they were quiet lately. Desan eyed the calendar again before she picked up the call.
“Hello, AIM Inspections, Desan speaking, how many I help you today?”
“Hi, I was told you offer haunting inspections?” The voice on the other line sounded gruff and a little tired. “We’ve had a flarg of an attempt trying to hire lately and our crew’s numbers are starting to dwindle fast.”
Desan nodded, even though the caller obviously couldn’t see. Here we go with another one. “Yes, we offer supernatural analysis inspections. I must warn you now that we are booked out until mid-Corruse on the Burnti calendar.”
The caller sighed and hummed for a bit. “That’s not as soon as I’d like, but honestly, you’re the third place I’ve called and that’s the soonest I’ve heard. What do you need from me to get started?”
“Well,” Desan pulled up a form on her track tablet, “I’ve just got a few questions, get a bit of information, then I’ll send you a form fill and I’ll get you on the schedule. First off, to whom am I speaking, and may I ask what alerted you to the need for our services?”
“Riord Esh, operations manager for the Bantar outer fleet. And I'd say we were alerted the same way as most people, I’d wager,” the gruff voice drawled out. “Tried hiring some humans, but they claimed our ships were haunted. That's since spread around. No one wants to work on a ship where even humans are scared if you know what I mean."
"I do, yes that's been a pretty common problem we've been hearing."
"Have you been able to fix this? I mean for the ships you have done the inspections for?"
"Oh yes, we've got a 100% ghost-free guarantee. Now, if I can get a bit of info from you, I can go ahead and get you scheduled for mid-Corruse."
The rest of the call went smoothly. Before Desan hung up, she assured Riord Esh that, should another client cancel, they would be moved up in the queue, to which they were grateful.
And with that, another client on the long, long list.
Desan had helped out on some of the inspections, and with all the demand lately, would probably continue doing so. It was a bit of extra pay, so she certainly had no issue with the extra work. It also had the added benefit of being quite interesting.
For the vast majority of "haunted" ships, the supernatural inspections ran almost identically to normal ship inspections. It was funny how often "sudden cold spots" were just a simple draft, or feelings of paranoia or being watched turned out to be caused by a previously undetected gas leak. The initial inspectors would simply write up a report detailing fixes needed and boom. Suddenly the ship no longer has a hard time finding a crew to hire.
But there were exceptions. The kind of exceptions that really threw a rock into their otherwise simple business model.
Before this job, Desan did not consider herself to be superstitious in any way. She still adamantly claimed to not believe in ghosts and haunts and spookums. But even she had to second-guess her stance when some of her inspector coworkers came back from some of their more… problematic jobs.
There were things that just didn’t make sense. Unsettling things. Usually involving some unfortunate or tragic circumstance. They were the things that couldn’t be satisfyingly brushed off as hallucinations of over-worked or mourning brains.
One in the particular job still gave her shivers. She’d been asked to join an inspection tour on one of the largest ships their company has done to date. It was a new, fresh off the assembly line, Booletean Cruiser Class 6. The ship's sheer size meant more hands were needed for the inspection crew to get everything checked out. Even then it still took an entire day cycle just to get through everything. And what a day it was.
The ship, again, was new. It should have had no issues. However, upon checking some of the paperwork for its production, it turned out that only some of the parts were completely new.
There’d been a terrible crash a decacycle or two before. Another Booletean Cruiser Class 6 had crashed. The Bayjee Disaster. There were survivors, but far more lives were lost. It was a tragic accident, a perfect storm of circumstances mixed with just enough miscommunication that caused it all.
While sifting through the wreckage, it was discovered that some of the parts of the ship were still in good condition. After intense inspection and testing, they were eventually used in the construction of another Booletean Cruiser.
The very one Desan and her company had been hired to inspect.
They checked everywhere. There were no gas leaks to explain why crew members would feel paranoid or even panicked, insisting that they were not alone when no one else was there.
There was nothing wrong with the pipes in the boiler room, even though engineers insisted that they would hear unexplained banging and screeching metal near the end of their shifts. Always twenty mentiks before their shifts ended. It never mattered what time of the day cycle they were working, it was always twenty mentiks before the end of their shift.
From the investigation, it was widely claimed that the chain of events that led to the Bayjee crashing had taken about twenty mentiks to come to fruition.
But one of the worst aspects of the “haunted” ship was something Desan and her team hadn’t experienced with other ship inspections.
Several crew members, passengers, and even a few kloxan dignitaries had claimed that they had seen the Bayjee captain aboard their ship. They claimed they’d seen her face quite clearly. She never said anything, she never interacted with anyone, she’d just be there. And then she’d be gone like someone had flipped a switch and turned off some sort of ghostly projector.
There were official reports of these sightings, several in fact, most of which were made by otherwise level-headed individuals that would have nothing to gain by falsifying such reports.
They spent far longer on this inspection than they had on any other project. With other jobs starting to pile up in the meantime, a decision was ultimately made to remove the parts of the ship that were originally part of the Bayjee and replace them with identical parts fresh off the assembly line.
All reports of any “haunting” phenomena immediately stopped.
Desan decided to stick to her office post after that. She still claimed to be a skeptic of the claims of the supernatural, and in most cases, she was. Being so was now part of her line of work. But even she had to admit that in the vastness of space and within all the realms of possibility, there was much that was beyond her understanding.
The comm lines rang again, pulling her out of her musings. With a sigh, she stretched and eyed the very full calendar before answering the call. “Hello, AIM Inspections, Desan speaking, how many I help you today?”

Like in the abstract it sounds like it would be nice to stake out a third campist both-sidesism about the ukraine war, right? Such a position is after all true, urgently relevant, and glaringly absent in the current US political landscape. Sounds good to “put it out there” yea?
Unfortunately this view is now effectively ineffable. If you try to use the words required they will simply mean smth different unbidden. Like you know andrea Dworkins dumb little sophistical argument about how porn restricts free speech? Bc now if women say “No” porn has so tainted the male brain that it will universally be interpreted as meaning Yes bc that is the new meaning porn has given “No” by raising us all to understand it thus? It’s basically that except true instead of diagnosably stupid. Foreign policy puppets for demonic influence in Washington have so overwhelmed the English language in a kind of semantic mass assault that every combination of words that would otherwise mean putin is in the wrong now means that it is imperative that the US State dept meddle in russia/ukraine. It’s like if all schoolteachers everywhere successfully taught children to infer from someone uttering “Zarg flarg omnigarg” that they think it is raining—then zarg flarg omnigarg just means that it is raining. Similarly, thanks to the tireless efforts at our nations most industrious consent manufacturing plants, “Putin is a war criminal” now simply means that the US is morally obligated to cut another 20B$ for further Ukrainian armament, compositionality be damned
This is why “Putin is a war criminal but US/NATO intervention in Eastern Europe needs to be massively curtailed” comes across as muddled or wishy-washy or incoherent: it is expressing a contradiction, denying with one conjunct what was just asserted with the other. Ofc self-contradiction is not uncommon in politics, even if it’s not entirely respectable to be so blatant about it, which is why it meets with irritation or condescension rather than outright bafflement. But it does not carve out a meaningful position in logical space, and therefore offers no political guidance. The “third camp” here is the third from tertium non datur
…………….obviously this is an exaggeration. Obviously. (Is that a clarification or a prayer?) but there’s a large grain of truth here. If you wonder why I or anyone else is reluctant to take up the consistent/principled anti-imperialist stance explicitly, consider that it’s bc the information ecosystem is one so acutely (and so deliberately) distorted that articulating that stance has come to be widely interpreted as smth akin to directions to walk south by southnorth. Sometimes political positions go largely unoccupied less bc nobody is interested in inhabiting them and more bc they have been forcibly annexed and redesignated

Today’s update, plus a little clarification for some frequently raised uncertainties!
-As it currently stands, I intend on doing my best to include any ship that is submitted and isn’t one of the few rejected ships detailed in my pinned post. Does that mean this is liable to get chaotic? yes- but this is the rvb fandom and chaos is our bread and butter. if we end up with 128 ships, then 128 ships it shall be.
-I am accepting poly ships and crack ships (here’s looking at you, vic/zealot). Every ship you’ve ever shipped, or just the ones you think would be funny to see people fight over- feel free to submit. Anything that’s not in the exclusion list is fair game, folks!

These are all FANTASTIC recs! Caro perfectly captures the tension and the absolute gut-wrenching emotions of the Umbara arc and the aftermath, and seeing how it impacted each of the boys individually just HURTS. And I love how Lee's series is shaping up, especially with all of this background on the tea shop owner that's emerging! And Zwei's series is seriously SO GOOD as well! Professor Boba just hits different.
And thank you so much for the kind words about The Blitz. It was such a fun series to write, but I'm somewhat glad it's over now so I can stop neglecting my other WIPS haha!
(Also, just as a heads up for future reference, if you miss the deadline for submissions one week, I just queue whatever I get after the deadline for the following week, so no need to resubmit or worry about it <3)

Random Darkwing Duck Headcanon
First off, this headcanon is kind of a two-parter, so let me start with part one.
I do not think Drake and Morgana were a healthy couple on the original show.
Even though they love each other and have put their lives on the line for the other countless times, they also constantly argue over their interests and priorities.
While Morgana would get easily offended by Drake being creeped out by her macabre activities, he would usually be doubtful of her skills as a sorceress. I think it would be best for them if, after one too many fights, they decided to break up on good terms. It would be heavy on both of their hearts for a while, but it would be the right decision for them.
Now, onto part two.
There is another character on the show that I believe would be a better match for Drake.
And her name is…Talaya! You probably don’t remember her, do you?
Ok, recap.
In the episode, “Battle of the Brainteasers”, a group of hat-like aliens from the planet Fez invade Earth to conquer the planet.
Flarg
Barada
and Nikto
This species has the power to attach themselves to the head of a host to control their bodies, which they use to possess several of the main characters. Fortunately, their plans are thwarted by Honker Muddlefoot, who has become a hero on planet Fez and a mortal enemy to the diabolical trio.
This was followed by a sequel episode titled “The Revenge of the Return of the Brainteasers, Too”, where Flarg and his henchmen break out of prison to take revenge on Honker. Although, this time, they have a new member: Talaya. She is Flarg’s “Harley Quinn” to his “Joker” and the one who assists in their escape. Once again, they possess the heroes in order to frame Honker for crimes of destruction across the universe. Naturally, the Brainteasers’ plans were foiled, and they get arrested again.
This episode was the first and only appearance of Talaya in any Darkwing Duck media, including the comics. Now, I wish this character would show up again because I believe she and Drake could become good friends.
They both have a lot in common: they’re both egotistical, theatrical, and have a tendency of being unintentionally silly when trying to act intimidating.
For most of the episode, Talaya uses Drake, in his Darkwing Duck costume, as her host, and she adores the way he looks. She even loves his outfit, which she demonstrates by posing and waving his cape around in front of Flarg. Even Flarg thinks Darkwing Duck looks like a knockout! Plus, for someone who has been accused of having terrible fashion sense, this would be a huge boost for Drake’s ego. (Or it could be because some of the aliens on Fez see their hosts, no matter what gender or species they are, as a fashion accessory to show off).
Plus, it would be hilarious to see Talaya explain this memory to Drake about the day they first met!...
Thus, brings me to another point on Talaya’s redemption. She needs to acknowledge that she has done horrible things and hurt people, especially Honker. No one, including Drake, is going to justify her past actions for the sake of the narrative. In fact, Drake never tries to pressure any of his family or friends to immediately warm up to her just because they're friends now. Yet, for this to be a genuine atonement, Talaya’s choice to make amends must not rely solely on her relationship with Drake. Somewhere down the line, she needs to have a moment of self-reflection on the choices she made and what she might’ve done if no one had stopped her in time.
Understandably, Honker will not forgive Talaya so easily, but Talaya will accept that.
Most importantly, Talaya must fall in love with Drake Mallard first, not Darkwing Duck.
When Morgana and Drake first met, she first fell in love with him as his superhero alter ego, which sort of rubs me the wrong way.
For their relationship to have a healthy start, Talaya needs to be friends with Drake’s civilian side before eventually falling in love with him. Then, when she has truly gained his trust, Drake will reveal his secret identity to her.
Whether she and Drake become friends, lovers, or just allies, I would be fine if Talaya came back, redeemed and develops from a one-dimensional villain's mistress to something more.
#darkwing duck#drake mallard#one-shot character#crack ship#headcanon#brainteasers#PLEASE BRING BACK TALAYA IN THE COMICS!!#Battle of the Brainteasers#The Revenge of the Return of the Brainteasers#talaya#morgana macawber#honker muddlefoot#no Morgana bashing!

Quest poll✨
Deeming the other roads as far too dangerous, you start walking down the pleasant meadow path.
As you walk, you continue you’re pondering. Where did you come from? Where is the family you were serving? Who was the family you were serving? Did they not want you anymore, or sell you because of hard times? How did you get to the warlock’s cabin to be brought to life!?
Suddenly your thoughts are stopped by a sound of distress. A panicked bleating coming from the left of the path.
It’s a young sheep! And its getting attacked by three massive lions! The lions are young as well, but they’re still much bigger than the poor small puff ball they are batting around as a toy.
You are thankful you stayed on the path for a moment, though in the next you curse yourself for such a dreadful thought. You are a protector, who should care about your safety.
You look back to the poor lamb. It is a good ten flarges away. It would take you a long time to get your big, corroded body over there to help.
Flarge = 1 yard/meter roughly.
(Pls reblog it helps!)
