Got inspired to make my own Zine thanks to @koddlet, so here is a short story about one of my favourite Yugioh cards!

I tried to keep them flat so I could take better pictures, though I might need to find a better solution somehow. Maybe including small pieces of washi tape? We'll see :3

Ok ok ok so yesterday they announce new synchron and signer dragons stuff and today they hit me with a new flame wingman. I'm actually gonna go insane god I love it so much and it makes it easier to search favorite hero or favorite contact and also the artwork and name are so freaking good I think konami wants to murder me lol

So I got this idea that merges Elemental Heroes, Masked Heroes and Contrast Hero, I got it upon realizing that Elemental Hero fusions are often the mix of two different heroes but only one attribute is taken into account.

Let me do an example of what my idea is:

Contrast HERO Flame Wingman

Level 6

Wind Attribute

[Warrior/Fusion/Effect]

(This card is al treated as a Fire Attribute)

Must be Fusion Summoned by using Change! On a Wind or Fire Attribute HERO monster. When this card destroys a monster, inflict damage equal to the destroyed monsters ATK.

ATK 2100/DEF 1200

And then the same principle applies to every other Elemental Hero Fusion Monster with the exception of Shining Flare Wingman, which you just use Change! On Flame Wingman to summon it.

Type:  WARRIOR / FUSION / EFFECT

Effect Type: SUMMONING CONDITION / TRIGGER

Effect (according to the anime): “This monster cannot be Special Summoned except by Fusion Summon. When this card destroys an opponent’s monster by battle, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster.”

ATK / DEF: 2100 / 1200

I understand why he's Jaden's favorite.

Basically Judai's ace in the first season.

Description (according to the anime): “A new Elemental Hero has arrived from Neo-Spacian! When he initiates a Contact Fusion with a Neo-Spacian, his unknown powers are unleashed.”

ATK / DEF: 2500 / 2000

Propaganda:

Despite being Judai’s ace (second ace, technically, but still) no one submitted him, so Mod auto-put him here. Anyway I do really like his backstory with being launched into space by Kaiba after Judai submitted him to the contest. I think it’s neat.

GX Finalized-Subs!122-123 (WIP): Bang, Bang

One last little art/animation error I fixed as I got started on revising the scripts for episodes 122-123, this happens early into 122 as Ayukawa worries about Rei's worsening condition, turning her head as she hopes Judai is on his way from the desert with the medicine he found. As she turns, it looks like the animation team had duplicated the [I assume] layer with the larger bang on her head partway into the turn and had it moving behind her head along with the one on the front, even though of course she only has the front bang in her design.

Actually a pretty easy fix to work on, as it just took me maybe 1.5 hours to edit these five movement frames over some coffee; the shot stays still from frame #2 on, and even on frame 1 the background is just a few pixels down from where it ends up once the panning finishes in frame 2 (though the background and Ayukawa are panned at different rates). Using Photoshop, and using the last frame as reference, I masked in or cloned bits of the background as needed to cover up the extra bang, then as of frame 3, I'd also masked out the smaller bang she has on the back of her head to keep it over the replaced background, redid the outline along her earring and collar around where the extra bang was, and then spliced those edits in as needed with everything else in the later frames to keep it looking consistent before throwing the fixed frames into the video using Sony Vegas. Looks pretty nice, I think! (Give the gifs a sec to load maybe)
