MARK OF POSSESSION
Tumblr media
pairing : kang noeul x fem!reader
summary : noeul just wanted what was best for you. and what was best for you was her.
warnings : controlling nd obsessive noeul, hair pulling, choking, blood, cutting, knife, (not ina freaky way more like in a “bitch where u going” way) etc.
unnecessary bs : short story, like uhh 3.5k words
Tumblr media
noeul knew what was best for you. It wasn’t just a belief—it was a certainty, one she clung to with an iron grip. she was convinced that no one else could give you what she could, that no one else understood you like she did. her love, her care, her unwavering devotion—these were all you needed. and she would do whatever it took to ensure you realized that, even if you didn’t see it yet.
she would weave herself into your life, gradually, gently at first, until it was impossible to imagine a day without her presence. her love wasn’t just nurturing—it was a force that suffocated, one that turned your world into a place where only noeul’s vision could thrive. every decision you made, no matter how small, would be filtered through her. it wasn’t manipulation, she would say. It was guidance. you could always rely on her to make the choices that were best for you—because she knew what those were.
when others tried to get too close, she’d subtly pull them away, perhaps with a smile, perhaps with a suggestion that wasn’t quite as innocent as it seemed. “you’re spending too much time with them,” she’d murmur. “don’t you think we’d be happier just the two of us?”
her obsession wasn’t just emotional—it was calculated. she kept track of every detail about you, cataloging your habits, preferences, fears. she understood you better than you understood yourself, and that made her indispensable. noeul had a way of making you feel special, of making you feel like no one else could care for you the way she did. but in doing so, she also made you feel small, dependent on her attention and approval. she made you believe that your happiness was her—without her, you would be lost.
she never let go. she couldn’t. she believed that if she ever lost you, she’d lose everything. and that was something she simply couldn’t allow.
the girl already felt like she’d lost so much. people had come and gone, promises had been broken, and trust had been shattered in ways she couldn’t fix. but you? you were different. you were the one thing she couldn’t bear to lose. the thought of it alone made something twist in her chest, a panic she couldn’t quiet. she had given so much to be here, to be with you, to make you see how perfect things could be if you only allowed her to take the lead. and now, now that she had you, she couldn’t risk losing you too. not after everything. not when you were the only thing left that made sense in her chaotic world. you were her last chance, the one thing that could fix everything. so if it meant controlling, guiding, helping you see that she was the best choice, then so be it. she couldn’t afford to lose you. she wouldn’t.
noeul’s smile was sweet, her voice soft, but there was an edge to it that made you hesitate. “you know i only want what’s best for you,” she’d whisper, brushing your hair out of your face with careful fingers. her touch lingered, possessive in a way you couldn’t quite name. “no one else will take care of you the way i do. no one else loves you like i do.”
and for a while, you almost believed her. almost.
“noeul,” you started, your voice barely above a murmur as you stared down at the coffee mug she had placed in front of you. “don’t you think this is… too much? the constant texts, the calls—it’s suffocating sometimes.”
her expression didn’t falter, though her eyes darkened. “too much?” she repeated, her tone laced with quiet disbelief. “i’m only looking out for you. you need someone to keep you grounded, to make sure you’re okay. you’d fall apart without me, yn. you know that.”
you flinched at her words, guilt pricking at your chest despite yourself. she always had a way of twisting things, of making you question whether you were being ungrateful for her care.
“it’s not that i don’t appreciate it, but—”
“then don’t push me away,” she interrupted, leaning closer, her voice dropping to a near whisper. “you don’t realize how fragile you are. how much you need me. but that’s okay. i’ll keep reminding you until you do.”
there was something suffocating about the way she looked at you, like you were the center of her world and she wouldn’t let you forget it. her love was a weight, heavy and unyielding, and no matter how much you tried to squirm away from it, it always pulled you back.
you swallowed hard, your fingers tightening around the mug as you tried to meet her gaze. “noeul, i’m not fragile. i can handle myself, you know. i don’t need you to—”
“to what?” she interrupted, her tone deceptively soft, though her eyes were anything but. “to care about you? to make sure you’re safe? yn, do you hear yourself? you’re lucky to have someone like me. someone who actually gives a damn about you.”
her words stung, sharp and cutting, and for a moment, you felt the urge to apologize, to tell her she was right, even though deep down, a part of you screamed that this wasn’t normal.
you set the mug down carefully, the sound of ceramic against wood breaking the tense silence. “that’s not what i meant,” you said quietly, your voice trembling. “but it’s like… you don’t trust me. you don’t give me any space.”
noeul tilted her head, her expression unreadable, though her lips curved into a small, unsettling smile. “space?” she echoed, almost amused. “is that what you think you need? space to what—hurt yourself? make bad decisions? let other people take advantage of you?”
you shook your head quickly, your heart pounding. “that’s not fair, noeul. i just want to feel like i can breathe without you hovering over me.”
her smile faded then, replaced by a look of quiet intensity that made your stomach churn. “breathe?” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “yn, you don’t understand. i’m the only reason you’re still standing. without me, you’d fall apart. you don’t know how much i’ve done for you. how much i’ve sacrificed.”
she leaned in closer, her hand reaching out to cup your cheek, her touch almost tender. “you think you need space, but you’re wrong. what you need is me. you’ll see that, eventually. even if i have to show you myself.”
the way she said it, so calm and assured, sent a shiver down your spine. you wanted to argue, to tell her she was wrong, but the weight of her gaze pinned you in place, stealing the words from your lips. all you could do was sit there, trapped under the suffocating warmth of her affection, wondering how things had spiraled so far out of your control.
you pushed her hand away, your voice rising as the knot in your chest snapped. “noeul, you don’t get it! i’m not some fragile, helpless thing that needs you to save me all the time. i can make my own choices, live my own life! you don’t get to decide everything for me!”
her expression froze, her smile dropping as her eyes darkened, the warmth in them turning ice-cold. for a moment, she didn’t say anything, just stared at you like she was trying to decide whether you had really just said that.
“you think you can handle yourself?” she said quietly, her voice eerily calm. “that’s funny, yn. really funny. because last time i checked, you couldn’t even figure out what you wanted for lunch without my help.”
“that’s not the same thing!” you shot back, standing now, your hands shaking. “you treat me like i’m some kind of child who can’t do anything on their own! i’m tired of it, noeul. i don’t need you watching my every move!”
her jaw tightened, and for the first time, the calm facade cracked, a flicker of something raw and dangerous crossing her face. “watching your every move?” she repeated, her voice rising. “you call it that, but all i’ve ever done is take care of you. because no one else will, yn. no one else cares enough to do what i do.”
you shook your head, stepping back as her voice grew sharper, more frantic. “maybe i don’t need someone to care that much! maybe i’d be better off—”
“better off without me?” she cut you off, her voice sharp like a whip. she stood now, her presence overwhelming as she loomed closer. “don’t say that, yn. don’t you dare say that.”
you faltered, but the frustration bubbling inside of you refused to be snuffed out. “why not? it’s the truth! i feel like i can’t even breathe around you anymore, noeul. you’re always there, always controlling everything—”
“controlling?” she snapped, her voice shaking with a mix of anger and something deeper, more desperate. “you think this is control? do you have any idea what it would be like without me? you’d be lost, yn. completely, utterly lost.”
“no, i wouldn’t!” you yelled back, your heart pounding in your chest. “i’d be fine, noeul! i can live my life without you smothering me every second of the day!”
her eyes flashed, and for a moment, the room seemed to grow colder. her voice dropped, low and venomous. “you think you’d be fine? you think anyone else could handle you the way i do? you’re wrong, yn. you have no idea what’s out there. no one will ever love you the way i do. no one will ever put up with you the way i do.”
the words hit like a slap, and for a moment, you stood there in stunned silence, tears stinging at the corners of your eyes. but even as the doubt crept in, you forced yourself to speak. “maybe they wouldn’t,” you said, your voice trembling but firm. “but that doesn’t mean this is okay. it doesn’t mean i have to stay.”
her face twisted, her mask of sweetness gone entirely now. she took a step closer, her voice dropping to a chilling whisper. “you’re not going anywhere, yn. you think you have a choice, but you don’t. you need me, whether you want to admit it or not. and i’ll make sure you realize that, one way or another.”
the air felt thick, suffocating, as her words hung between you. you wanted to run, to scream, to do anything—but her gaze held you captive, her obsession wrapping around you like chains you couldn’t break.
you turned on your heel, heart pounding in your chest as you made your way to the door. “i’m leaving, noeul,” you said, your voice shaking but resolute. “this isn’t love. i can’t do this anymore.”
you didn’t wait for her response, your hand already reaching for the doorknob. the thought of freedom, of finally escaping the suffocating grip she had on you, spurred you forward—until a sharp, searing pain tore through your scalp.
“you’re not going anywhere.” noeul’s voice was sharp, laced with fury as she yanked you back by your hair, forcing a cry of pain from your lips. your hand shot up instinctively, trying to pry her grip away, but her hold only tightened.
“you think you can just walk away from me?” she spat, dragging you back toward her. her other hand found your neck, her fingers pressing down hard, cutting off your air as panic flared in your chest. “after everything i’ve done for you? after everything we’ve been through?”
“n-noeul—stop,” you choked out, clawing at her hand as you struggled to breathe.
but she wasn’t listening. her face was twisted in a mix of rage and desperation, her voice rising with every word. “you’re mine, yn. do you hear me? mine. i’ve given you everything, and this is how you repay me? by trying to leave me? by abandoning me?”
tears streamed down your face as your vision blurred, your body thrashing in a desperate attempt to free yourself. “please… stop,” you gasped, your voice barely audible as the world began to fade around you.
your vision blurred, the edges of your sight fading to gray as noeul’s grip on your neck tightened. panic surged through your body as you clawed at her hands, your nails scraping against her skin, but she didn’t let go. her face was a twisted mask of fury and desperation, her voice rising above your strangled gasps.
“you’re not leaving me, yn,” she growled, her voice trembling with raw emotion. “you don’t get to leave me.”
your strength ebbed away, your limbs growing weak as darkness began to creep in from the corners of your vision. you could barely hear her words anymore, her voice muffled like it was coming from underwater. your hands slipped from her wrists, falling limp at your sides as your body betrayed you.
“you belong to me,” was the last thing you heard, her voice a venomous whisper, before the world faded to black.
the suffocating pressure on your throat was the last sensation you registered before everything disappeared, leaving you trapped in a void of silence and unconsciousness.
“you don’t get to leave me,” she hissed, her voice trembling as tears welled in her eyes. “you belong to me, yn. and if i have to hurt you to make you see that, then so be it.”
-
your head throbbed as you slowly regained consciousness, a dull, pounding ache radiating through your skull. the air was cold, damp, and unfamiliar, carrying a faint, metallic scent that made your stomach churn. your fingers twitched against the rough, uneven surface beneath you, and as your eyes fluttered open, the dim light of a single bulb above you cast eerie shadows across the room.
you were in a basement.
panic surged through your veins as you tried to sit up, only to feel the sharp tug of something binding your wrists behind your back. the rough texture of rope bit into your skin, and you struggled against it, the reality of your situation crashing over you like a wave.
“oh, you’re awake.”
her voice sent a chill down your spine, soft and sweet like honey, but laced with an unsettling edge that made your blood run cold. you turned your head sharply, your eyes landing on noeul as she stepped into the light, her expression calm, almost serene, but her eyes burned with an intensity that made your heart race.
“w-what… what are you doing?” you stammered, your voice hoarse and shaky as you tugged against the ropes.
she crouched down in front of you, tilting her head as she regarded you with an almost pitying smile. “you left me no choice, yn,” she said softly, her voice dripping with feigned regret. “i couldn’t let you walk away. you don’t understand how much you need me. how much i need you.”
you flinched as she reached out, her fingers brushing against your cheek in a mockery of tenderness. “but it’s okay,” she continued, her voice low and soothing, as if she were comforting a frightened child. “you’ll see soon enough. you’ll understand why this is for the best.”
“noeul, this isn’t right,” you said, your voice trembling as tears pricked at your eyes. “please, just let me go. we can talk about this—”
“no,” she interrupted sharply, her calm facade cracking for just a moment as her eyes narrowed. “you don’t get it, do you? you don’t need anyone else. you don’t need freedom. you don’t need choices. you need me.”
her voice softened again, and she leaned closer, her lips curling into a small, unsettling smile. “and now, you’ll never have to worry about anything ever again. i’ll take care of you. i’ll make sure you’re safe. even if it means keeping you here forever.”
your heart raced as her words sank in, and you struggled harder against the ropes, desperation clawing at your chest. but noeul simply watched, her smile never wavering, as if she were savoring the sight of you realizing just how trapped you were.
noeul crouched in front of you, her movements slow and deliberate, like a predator savoring its prey. the flickering light above cast shadows across her face, highlighting the sharp edge of her smile and the unsettling glint in her eyes. in her hand, you noticed something new—a knife, small and sleek, its edge catching the dim light as she twirled it absentmindedly between her fingers.
“you know,” she started softly, her voice almost a whisper as she tilted her head, studying you. “i love you, yn. more than anyone else ever could. more than you’ll ever understand.”
you froze, your breath catching in your throat as the blade glinted in her hand. every muscle in your body screamed at you to move, to run, but the ropes binding you held firm, leaving you helpless beneath her piercing gaze.
“so why,” she continued, her voice trembling slightly, as though she were on the verge of tears, “do you keep playing with me? why do you keep trying to run away? don’t you see how much this hurts me?”
she leaned in closer, the knife lowering to your thigh. your breath hitched as the cold metal pressed against your skin, just barely grazing it. her touch was delicate, almost careful, as if she didn’t want to harm you—yet.
“you make me do these things, yn,” she murmured, her tone laced with both frustration and heartbreak. the knife trailed lightly down your leg, the sensation sending a shiver through your body. “i don’t want to hurt you. i really don’t. but you leave me no choice when you act like this. when you try to leave me.”
tears burned at the corners of your eyes as you swallowed hard, your voice trembling. “noeul, please… you don’t have to do this. i—i’ll listen. just don’t—”
“don’t what?” she interrupted, her voice sharp as her eyes flicked up to meet yours. “don’t remind you who you belong to? don’t show you how much you mean to me?”
her grip on the knife tightened as she pressed it just a little harder against your skin, not enough to cut, but enough to make your heart race with fear. her other hand reached up to cup your cheek, her touch strangely tender as she leaned in, her face mere inches from yours.
“you’re mine, yn,” she whispered, her breath warm against your skin. “and no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try to fight it, you’ll always be mine.”
the cold steel bit into your flesh, and a sharp, unbearable pain shot through your leg. you flinched, your eyes squeezed shut, unable to stop the tears that welled up in your eyes. “noeul! please, stop!” you cried, your voice cracking.
noeul’s eyes flickered with something dark, something possessive, as she continued. she carved her name—slowly, deliberately—into your thigh, her movements so precise, as though she was marking her territory, sealing you into her world. each stroke of the knife sent jolts of pain through your body, and you could feel the warmth of blood beginning to seep down your leg.
when she was done, noeul leaned in closer, her lips parting just slightly as she brought her tongue to the fresh cut. the contact was unexpected, soft, and disturbingly intimate as she licked the blood from your skin, her eyes never leaving yours.
“you’ll always be a part of me, yn,” she murmured, the coldness in her voice laced with twisted affection. “and i’ll always be a part of you.”
you shuddered, the feeling of her touch lingering long after she’d pulled away. the tears continued to fall, but there was no escape from her. no way to deny her hold on you.
noeul stood up slowly, her gaze never leaving yours. for a moment, she just looked at you, as if trying to savor the sight of you in this broken, vulnerable state. her expression softened, the hardness in her eyes fading into something almost tender, though it held an eerie edge.
then, without a word, she leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead—light and fleeting, like a fragile promise that left you more unsettled than ever.
“i’ll be back soon,” she whispered, her voice softer now, as though trying to reassure herself.
with one last lingering glance, noeul turned and walked out of the room, her footsteps echoing in the silence. each step she took seemed to pull her further away from you, but you knew deep down she wasn’t truly leaving. she was just giving you a moment to breathe… before she came back to tighten her grip once more.
the door clicked shut behind her, but the weight of her presence remained, hanging heavy in the room like a shadow you couldn’t escape.

[ a continuation of part one ]

in any other circumstances, you wouldn’t even dare to imagine holding a man you had just met the same day.
but stan … was different.
when your eyes first locked with his from across the counter, you could tell that he was hurting, and badly. he was trying so hard to cover it up, and it worked for the most part — after all, up until now, nobody had cared about him enough to see through his facade.
but you saw straight through him. and not only that, you actually did something about it. you offered to care for his needs, at your own expense.
his father only ever saw him as an expense.
so, there you were, sitting at the bar, holding onto the maroon fabric of his jacket as he trembled like a leaf.
the scent of cigarette smoke and pine needles was strong in your nose as he buried his face into your shoulder. you could feel his stubble scratching against your skin.
there was a part of you that wanted to speak up and comfort him, but ultimately you decided against it. you didn’t quite know enough about him to be able to speak to his situation.
after a few minutes, stan seemed to be calming down. his breathing became even, although he was still clinging onto you tightly.
“i …”
his voice was cracked and raspy.
“i … screwed up. i don’t … know how i’m gonna fix it.”
your brow furrowed as you listened to him.
“y’know, stan … i don’t know what you’re going through. but can you do me one favor?”
“... yeah?”
“look at me.”
slowly, the brunet lifted his head, pulling himself back just enough to be able to look at you. his eyes were red and puffy, but his gaze was sincere.
you looked back at him, determined. “i’m gonna help you out.”
stan didn’t know how to react. he swallowed a lump in his throat, scanning your face as if to check whether you were lying to him or not.
“... you don’t … hafta do that. i brought it on myself—”
“i don’t care.”
his eyes widened.
“if i can keep somebody from a worse fate, then i’ll do it. let me give you a place to stay, even if it’s just for a little while.” you smiled warmly, squeezing his arm for emphasis. “you shouldn’t have to feel like your life means nothing.”
“… you’re an angel.”
those words made you blush. “i–i wouldn’t say that—”
uh-oh, he’s smirking now. chuckling lowly, he let go of you so that he could cross his arms over his chest.
“what, are you tryna tell me you’re not sent from heaven? think about it. you’re saving my biscuits here, toots.” there was serious gratitude in his tone, despite his teasing. at least he seemed to be in a better mood. “i think i’ll hafta call you that more often, yeah? angel.”
you laughed nervously, trying desperately to distract yourself from your red hot face. “really? h–how interesting …”
stan snickered again, gazing at you for a moment longer with fondness dancing in his brown eyes. then, glancing at the wall clock, he realized the time. “damn, it’s midnight. i should probably stop bothering you ‘nd get to bed, huh?”
“huh, it is late … i should sleep, too.”
“then it’s decided. i’ll see ya tomorrow.” he hummed, standing from his seat and stretching out his arms before cracking a soft smile and turning around to walk towards his room.
you were left to watch him leave, your eyes following his footsteps as he made his way back up the staircase.
approximately eight hours later, you awoke to the sunlight gently filtering through your bedside window, causing your eyelids to flutter open.
the events of last night came flooding back into your mind.
i guess i’ll be seeing a whole lot more of him …
sitting up in bed, you yawned, rubbing your face sleepily.
“mm … what time is it …”
the alarm clock on your nightstand read 8:02 am.
shoot, i overslept—oh, wait. it’s my day off.
that little fact was enough to put you in a good mood for the morning. humming happily to yourself, you began to get ready for the day, picking out a comfortable outfit and a few accessories.
descending two flights of stairs, you wandered into the lobby of your inn, greeting a few different patrons and employees with a cheerful wave. it was breakfast rush hour for the kitchen, and you could catch glimpses of your executive chef running to and fro behind the bar.
he seems pretty busy today. maybe i’ll grab a bite to eat somewhere? hmm, but the question is where …
just then, your train of thought was interrupted by the sound of someone calling out your name.
you whipped around to locate the voice’s source, and there was stan, walking towards you at a leisurely pace. a radiant grin broke out on your face.
“stan! hey, good morning! how’d you sleep?”
raising a brow, he chuckled at your energy. “well, good morning, sunshine. i slept like a baby, thanks t’ you.”
“ah, don’t mention it.” you smiled, placing your hands on your hips. “i’m just glad you could sleep.”
the two of you looked at each other for a second.
why did his stare make you feel butterflies in your chest?
probably unimportant ………… right? yeah.
clearing your throat, you averted your gaze before you started to blush again. “so, um … have you had anything to eat yet?”
“nah. i was just about to, though.” to be frank, he had totally forgotten that he had access to breakfast until you just mentioned it.
“sounds goo–”
you paused mid-sentence, remembering something.
“actually … i was planning on eating out for breakfast today. would you wanna join me? since the kitchen is bustling and all …”
oh, wow. did you really just ask him out to breakfast? it didn’t hit you until after you had said it out loud that it could be considered that way. oops. was that weird? were you weird? augh.
stan had half a mind to tease you senseless for how cute that was, but after thinking about it, he decided against it. he wouldn’t wanna ruin his chances at having breakfast with you.
“you kiddin’? i’d love that.” he nodded his head, flattered and amused. “not many people can say they’ve had breakfast with an angel, ya know.”
your ears turned red.
i walked right into that one. darn you and your smooth talking …
“oh, let’s just go already.” embarrassed, you grabbed his wrist, pulling him along towards the front door. stan laughed heartily, allowing himself to be led.
it wasn’t long before you arrived at one of your favorite diners in town, known for their homey atmosphere and good breakfast. walking into the building, you were met with the smell of eggs, bacon, and coffee. the two of you breathed it in simultaneously, sighing.
“reminds me of breakfast as a kid.” stanley mused, thinking of the days when he and ford would poke at each other’s food and giggle. you smiled, watching his expression.
“c’mon, this way.” you beckoned him over towards the table you usually sat at, and a familiar waitress walked over to you as you settled in.
“good morning, loyal patron~ i see you’ve brought a plus one today, yes?”
“uh—yes. don’t go jumping to conclusions, though …”
the waitress grinned innocently. “of course. now, what can i get for you two?”
stan wound up ordering pancakes with bacon and eggs, while you settled on some waffles and a mug of coffee. you could have sworn you saw that waitress giggling to her coworker about something as she went on her way, but you shook your head to yourself in an attempt to ignore it. instead, you directed your attention towards the man sitting across from you.
“so, i’m guessin’ you’re a regular here?” he tilted his head, leaning back against his seat. there was a smirk plastered onto his face that you couldn’t quite decipher.
“you would guess correctly.” you hummed, picking up the salt shaker on the table and fidgeting with it absentmindedly. “have you ever been?”
a rumbling sigh escaped his lips.
“nah … i’m not exactly from around here.”
your gaze was trained on him. so far, he’s kept a laid-back demeanor, not to mention that little smirk that drives you insane—but you couldn’t shake the feeling that there was way more depth to his character than he let on.
“yeah? where’re you from?”
“...”
there was a brief silence. his chocolate brown eyes, warmly lit by the sun, stared into your soul.
“i’m from new jersey.”
your eyebrows shot up. “from jersey? wow … you’re far from home, then.”
“it’s not home anymore.”
you opened your mouth to say something, but closed it again. stan was staring out the window, a frown creasing his face.
“i … sorry. sensitive topic?”
he turned back to you, a faint blush appearing on his face. “uh … well, yeah, i guess … it’s okay.”
“come again?”
“... it’s, uh—i–i’m okay, if it’s you.”
he was a darker shade of red now, scratching awkwardly at his stubble. he felt so … vulnerable. but somehow, he was okay with it.
at that moment, the waitress came back with plates of food. “order up!”
you watched as you were served, salivating as you saw golden waffles covered in butter and syrup smiling up at you. it didn’t take long for the both of you to start digging in.
“... wow.” after the first few bites, stan had stars in his eyes. “it tastes just like ma’s.”
“was your mom a good cook?”
he snorted. “well, she wasn’t exactly a michelin star chef, but she could make some damn good flapjacks. at least, i sure thought so.” putting another forkful of pancake into his mouth, he chewed thoughtfully. you simply propped your head on one hand, watching.
“i always told her she could sell ‘em for a fortune.”
his tone was soft with nostalgia.
“she just laughed. prob’ly cause i was five when i told her that.”
“they must’ve been really something, huh?”
“they were. all my life, i dreamt of selling somethin’ as good as that. i haven’t stopped trying, either.”
he scoffed.
“most of ‘em have been a bust.”
you hummed softly in understanding.
“you’re still trying, though. that’s worth more than any failed effort.”
he looked up from his plate. “... you think so?”
“sure i do.” lifting your mug, you took a sip of coffee. “perseverance is worth a lot.”
stan could barely handle your uplifting words. his heart was squeezing in his chest. covering his flustered face with one hand, he leaned against the table, grumbling.
“... an angel … God sent an angel.”
“what?”
“what? nothing.”
a few hours later, you were walking side by side back to the inn. stan couldn’t help but admire the way the fall breeze tousled your hair, and the gentle smile on his face was speaking his thoughts out loud.
he’d never known that somebody this beautiful could even exist.
maybe ...
maybe he hasn’t hit rock bottom quite yet.

february and everything after
Post-production for me consisted of colour grading, finding a piece of music for Peer to use diagetically (because I wanted to) and creating a title card/credits.
Colour grading: the longest process - I am not a colour grader. I am lucky I know how to use photoshop because I would honestly be lost without that knowledge! I did the absolute best I could. I’ve talked with Eva about how we probably need much more attention out on how to colour grade, or it should possibly be done out of house altogether. The idea that I could ruin the shots I’ve carefully prepared and lit just by not knowing what I’m doing is very scary! During shooting, Eva, Alex and I noticed a weird red tint on some of the shots, particularly when we stacked ND filters. I assured myself that I could fix this in post, because there really wasn't anything else we could do. We tried to offset it in camera, but generally it wouldn't leave! I found that doing a Node Tree where the 1st node was for Lift Gamma and Gain (as Paul thankfully advised me!) which I labelled LGG was a really good first step. Once the levels were correct (and I had ensured I was working in the correct colour space), I was able to start correcting issues, namely the red tint. I think in almost all the scenes I was able to eliminate it or work around it, especially scene 8 I think worked well. For scene 8 I layered various tints, making a 2nd node for a greener Lift, and the creating a 3rd node to bring the warmth back in the Gamma and Gain. This went a long way to adding depth and removing the dreaded red tint. I also did some selective masking for example on Harry’s jacket which had partly turned maroon. But I was able to make it blue/black again with the colour dropper mask and some blurring. I did this for any issue that had specific areas to change, another one was the white plastic bag in the loch. (Though that is the one I’m least happy with). Generally I kept up this process of LGG node and then multiple layers pushing green and then yellows and reds in layers until the shots had much more depth to them.
But in scene 11 (the last one) the red tint made the shore look distinctly meat-like, while the Jo's skin (especially) was also reddish-pink, so I couldn't change it. I tried to mask it but it looked even more obvious that something strange was happening. I managed to mask the reverse shot on Phoebe thankfully, but alas the whole thing is more pink than I wanted.
Generally I think I did well. I have to say I am curious about what a professional colour-grader would be able to do with it!
Song for Scene 4
We needed a different piece of music from scene 3 to 4, to show a change of time, and perhaps mood. Arina Brovanova (angel) had scored just one diagetic song to be used for this, so we needed another! (Though hers was great and is in scene 3). I had been thinking about how sometimes the most tense/best atmosphere creation with music comes from juxtaposition and the irony of using a happy song whilst such a tense scene was unfolding seemed like it might work really well. I remembered a song I had helped my friend Charis produce (that she wrote and composed, and I did harmonies for her and our friend Ben did some guitar on) called 'in your arms', which was a very feel-good song about vulnerability and happiness within that. It's a very sweet song but in this scene it ramps up the tension and I think it works really well! Peer and Orla happily agreed :)
Title card
I have been making film titles since 1st year, and all throughout my time at Napier. I love animation and typography, so I always opt to make titles when I can. For Saint Catherines, Orla and I thought combining the wave sounds you hear at the end with a water animation might be nice, so I animated a wave washing the title away (thanks Orla!).

Pro Creator’s Guide: Mixing GoPro Mounts with DJI Osmo Gimbals for Cinematic Shots
In the world of content creation, gear innovation and creative adaptability go hand in hand. Whether you're capturing adrenaline-pumping action sequences or filming smooth cinematic travel videos, having the right equipment—and knowing how to mix and match it—can set your footage apart from the rest. One such powerful combination many pros are turning to is mixing GoPro mounts with DJI Osmo accessories to create dynamic, stabilized, and unique shots that push creative boundaries.
Tumblr media
In this blog, we’ll explore how pairing GoPro’s versatile mounting ecosystem with DJI Osmo gimbals opens up a new world of filming possibilities, perfect for vloggers, action sports enthusiasts, travel filmmakers, and anyone seeking next-level content.
Why Mix GoPro Mounts with DJI Osmo Gimbals?
GoPro cameras are known for their compact size, rugged build, and ability to go just about anywhere. Their ecosystem of mounts—from chest harnesses to suction cups and helmet clips—has made them indispensable for capturing immersive POV shots and action footage. On the other hand, DJI Osmo gimbals offer buttery smooth stabilization, smartphone compatibility, and features like face tracking and motion time-lapse.
When used together, GoPro mounts and DJI Osmo accessories allow creators to unlock hybrid setups that merge the best of both worlds—flexibility and cinematic motion control.
1. Harnessing the Power of Compatibility
While GoPro and DJI are different ecosystems, many accessories and mounts are compatible—or can be made compatible—with the help of adapters. For instance:
1/4” tripod mount adapters let you attach Osmo gimbals to GoPro mounts.
Universal clamp and grip systems can hold either a GoPro or a DJI Osmo Pocket or Mobile securely.
Cold shoe extensions and cages let you rig up GoPro mounts with smartphone gimbals for multipoint shooting.
With these tweaks, a creator can wear a gimbal-mounted smartphone on a GoPro chest harness or fix an Osmo Pocket on a GoPro helmet mount for innovative angles.
2. Hands-Free Cinematics with Body Mounts
One of the biggest limitations of handheld gimbals is, well, your hands. You only get one angle, and your hands get tired quickly. Enter GoPro’s wearable mounts:
Chest Mount: Mount your DJI Osmo Pocket or Osmo Action to a chest strap using a GoPro-to-1/4" adapter. This keeps your hands free while hiking, biking, or skateboarding—letting the gimbal capture steady shots of your journey.
Helmet Mount: Whether top or side-mounted, combining a gimbal camera with a helmet gives you cinematic stabilization without the jitter of raw GoPro footage.
Shoulder and Backpack Mounts: These offer an over-the-shoulder perspective, perfect for documentary or travel-style filming.
Such combinations allow for more immersive storytelling while retaining pro-level stabilization.
3. Vehicle and Surface Mounts for High-Speed Stability
For creators working with automotive or aerial content, GoPro mounts like suction cups, clamp mounts, and magnetic bases allow DJI Osmo devices to film from unique vehicle perspectives. Here’s how:
Suction Cup Mounts: Firmly attach a DJI Osmo Action or Pocket to cars, boats, or motorbikes. The added gimbal stabilization ensures your footage remains smooth even on bumpy roads.
Handlebar or Roll Cage Mounts: These mounts are great for BMX, mountain bikes, and ATVs. Use a secure clamp to attach your Osmo to handlebars for wide, cinematic trail shots.
Mixing these mounts with Osmo accessories like external mics and ND filters can transform your setup into a full mobile studio.
4. Creative Shots Using Extension Poles and Tripod Mounts
Many GoPro-compatible extension poles and tripods also work perfectly with DJI Osmo gimbals thanks to universal thread mounts. With this setup, you can:
Capture dynamic follow-cam footage with stabilized movement using extension poles.
Shoot elevated scenes or wide vlogging angles by attaching your Osmo Pocket to a GoPro selfie stick.
Film time-lapses by securing your gimbal to a GoPro tripod mount on uneven terrain or outdoor surfaces.
This flexibility is ideal for content creators filming on the go, especially in travel or documentary settings.
5. Hybrid Rigs for Multi-Camera Creativity
Advanced creators often want both wide and detailed shots in one take. By combining GoPro mounts and DJI Osmo accessories, you can build custom multi-camera rigs:
Dual mounts: Use extension bars or cold shoe adapters to mount a GoPro and DJI Osmo side-by-side. Capture both raw action and stabilized cinematic footage simultaneously.
360-degree mounts: Attach your DJI Osmo Action or Pocket to rotating GoPro mounts to create mesmerizing 360° or panoramic shots.
This layered approach is a favorite among YouTubers, sports documentarians, and travel filmmakers who want to tell stories from more than one perspective.
Pro Tips for Mixing Systems Effectively
To get the most out of mixing GoPro mounts with DJI Osmo accessories, keep these tips in mind:
Use high-quality adapters: Don’t skimp on build quality—cheap adapters can result in shaky footage or damaged gear.
Balance your setup: Ensure your gimbal is well-balanced with the mounted accessory to avoid motor strain.
Check weight limits: Not all mounts can support the weight of a smartphone gimbal or Osmo Pocket with accessories attached.
Protect your gear: Use protective cases and anti-vibration mounts when filming in rugged environments.
The marriage of GoPro mounts and DJI Osmo accessories gives today’s creators a unique edge—blending action-cam ruggedness with cinematic stabilization. Whether you're filming high-speed sports, travel vlogs, or behind-the-scenes footage, this hybrid approach can unlock new creative angles and enhance the professional quality of your work.
At Action Pro, we understand the evolving needs of content creators. That’s why we offer a curated range of both GoPro mounts and DJI Osmo accessories—plus the adapters and rigs to help you combine them effortlessly. Top 10 DJI Camera Hacks for Filmmakers: Unlock Cinematic Magic in Sri Lanka
Whether you’re a travel vlogger soaring over the hills of Ella or a wedding filmmaker capturing golden-hour moments on the beaches of Galle, mastering your DJI camera can take your visuals to the next level. In this blog, we dive deep into the top 10 DJI camera hacks for filmmakers, with a special focus on content creators in Sri Lanka. These tips not only boost your creativity but also ensure your footage stands out in a sea of drone content.
Tumblr media
1. Master Manual Camera Settings
Automatic settings are convenient, but true cinematic control lies in manual. Adjust ISO, shutter speed, and white balance manually on your DJI camera for consistent exposure. In sunny Sri Lanka, start with:
ISO: 100
Shutter Speed: 1/120 (for 60fps)
White Balance: Custom (match with daylight: 5200K)
2. Use ND Filters Like a Pro
In bright Sri Lankan daylight, ND filters are essential. They reduce light entering the lens, allowing slower shutter speeds for motion blur, which adds a more natural and cinematic look. Always keep ND4, ND8, and ND16 filters in your kit.
3. Create Custom Gimbal Profiles
Customize your gimbal settings in the DJI Fly or DJI GO 4 app. A slower tilt speed and smooth responsiveness can give your camera movements a professional, floating look—perfect for serene shots of Sigiriya or the Nine Arches Bridge.
4. Leverage D-Cinelike or D-Log Profiles
Switch from Standard to D-Cinelike (DJI Mini series) or D-Log (Mavic 3, Air 2S) to capture flat color profiles. This gives you more flexibility during color grading, helping your footage match the cinematic tone of your overall production.
5. Pre-Plan Your Flight Path with Waypoints
Use the Waypoints feature (available in DJI Mavic 3 and Air 3) to automate complex flight paths. Set a precise path to follow through tea plantations or coastal cliffs, and focus entirely on camera movements for that perfect cinematic shot.
6. Practice the “Reveal” Technique
Fly from behind an object (tree, rock, or arch) to suddenly reveal a grand view. This hack creates dramatic transitions, especially when shooting iconic Sri Lankan locations like Dambulla Cave Temple or Yala National Park.
7. Enable Grid Lines and Center Point
Turn on grid lines and center points in your DJI app to follow the rule of thirds and balance your shots better. This is especially useful when framing large structures like temples or waterfalls.
8. Use Tripod Mode for Cinematic Pacing
Tripod Mode (also called Cine Mode in newer models) slows your drone's movements drastically. It’s perfect for emotional, slow-moving shots—great for storytelling in short films or wedding reels across Sri Lanka.
9. Utilize QuickShots for Dynamic Angles
QuickShots like “Rocket,” “Boomerang,” and “Circle” can add variety to your footage quickly. Use these creatively at Sri Lankan landmarks for social-media-ready shots without extra editing.
10. Update Firmware and Calibrate Sensors
Keep your DJI camera updated for new features and performance fixes. Always calibrate your compass and IMU before flights, especially in magnetic-heavy areas like urban zones in Colombo or Kandy.
Bonus Tips for DJI Camera Users in Sri Lanka:
Respect local drone regulations: Always check CAASL guidelines.
Fly during golden hours: Capture Sri Lanka’s natural beauty at sunrise or sunset for soft, cinematic lighting.
Back up your footage immediately: Use SSDs or cloud storage to prevent data loss in humid or unpredictable weather conditions.
Final Thoughts
Unlocking the full potential of your DJI camera in Sri Lanka doesn’t require expensive gear—just smart techniques and creative vision. With these top 10 hacks, you’re ready to shoot like a pro, whether you’re filming a travel doc, a commercial, or a short film.

WEEK 9 CLASS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Specifications (Subject matter, number of images, resolution, etc.) - I put myself at Average Moderate Achieving. I have taken lots of image which I am happy with the images however I feel like a lot of them are quite mediocre, so I still need to sort through for my final selections. I haven’t edited any images yet as I normally don’t do much editing but I’m also considering maybe doing some sort of colour grading which can help the images to feel more consistent maybe? Like how Phillipa Klaiber edited her work.
Composition (Rule of thirds, leading lines, angle of view, etc.) - Excellent High Achieving. I believe my composition has been high achieving as I have been considering especially horizon lines, leading lines and rule of thirds (because I am photographing outside a lot) and trying to frame the animals in an interesting way.
Concept/Content/Theme - Average Moderate Achieving. As mentioned in some previous weeks I do feel like my images are relevant to my concept and I like them except they don’t outright tell you what my concept is by just looking at them. My concept is always backing what I take photos of even if it doesn’t show. I feel like I should try to show the concept more through just the images except I don’t want it to be too on the nose?
Image Quality (Exposure, focus, colour, depth of field) - Average Moderate Achieving. Most of my images have appropriate exposure. Some are overexposed as I am working outside during the daytime. This is easily fixed by balancing the images in the camera and using a ND filter. Some pictures may be underexposed from when I was shooting at sunset, and it got dark. Some of the photographs that I took in the rain have issues with focus and water on the lens which was an issue but also sometimes created an interesting effect on the image. Most of my other images are in focus.
Creativity/Originality - Average Moderate Achieving. I like my concept. Climate change can be a very broad topic, but I think because I focusses on how it affects small scale farming it just makes it a bit more interesting. I think because climate change is such an important topic in our current times it should be something people keep talking about even if the conversation seems stale.

Solving Polar Pro ND Filter Challenges
Tumblr media
Neutral Density (ND) filters are indispensable tools for photographers and videographers, allowing for greater control over exposure, depth of field, and motion blur. At AWPRO in Dubai, we offer a wide range of ND filters, including high-quality options from renowned brands like PolarPro. However, using ND filters can come with its challenges. In this blog post, we’ll explore common problems associated with ND filters, provide practical solutions, and highlight why AWPRO is the best place to purchase your ND filters.
Common Problems with ND Filters
Cross Polarization Effects
One of the most frustrating issues with variable ND filters is the occurrence of cross polarization, which can create a noticeable black "X" pattern in your images. This typically happens when the filter is rotated to its extremes.
Solution:
To mitigate this issue, opt for variable ND filters that feature hard stops at both ends of the adjustment range. These designs help prevent reaching problematic settings that cause cross polarization. The latest models, such as the PolarPro Peter McKinnon Chroma variable ND filter, have been developed specifically to address this issue effectively.
Vignetting
Vignetting occurs when the corners of your images appear darker than the center, particularly when using wide-angle lenses with thicker variable ND filters.
Solution:
Choose low-profile ND filters designed to minimize vignetting. Additionally, avoid stacking multiple filters whenever possible, as this can exacerbate the problem. Our selection at AWPRO includes filters that are optimized for wide-angle lenses.
Size Compatibility Issues
Many variable ND filters are larger in diameter than the lens thread size, preventing the use of lens hoods or caps. This can leave your lens exposed to potential damage.
Solution:
Select ND filters that fit snugly on your lens without excessive protrusion. If you need to use a hood, consider using step-up rings to maintain compatibility while protecting your lens.
Color Casts and Image Quality Degradation
Some users report color casts or reduced image quality due to reflections within the filter glass. This can lead to inaccuracies in color reproduction and sharpness.
Solution:
Invest in high-quality ND filters with multi-coatings designed to minimize glare and enhance light transmission. Shooting in RAW format can also help correct color issues during post-processing.
Focus Issues with Drones
Drone operators often experience focusing problems when using ND filters, leading to blurred images despite correct settings.
Solution:
Before flying, test your setup without the filter under similar lighting conditions to identify if the filter is causing focus issues. If problems persist, consider switching to solid ND filters for better optical performance.

The #ShittyCameraChallenge: Trichromes, Aerochromes and more with the Olympus Camedia C-100
This is an old post, drafted in July for the glitchy Olympus Camedia C-100, but the images came out lovely so I had to share.
Finally I got my hands on a real glitchy camera, with a sensor well past its prime, the Olympus Camedia C-100, a 1.3-megapixel fixed-focus digicam released by Olympus in 2001. I reckon the camera is overexposing by around 10 stops, and normal daylight images are completely blown out, but I have a cheap variable ND filter, that on its maximum setting produces much more ‘natural’ images. Of…

WAYS TO AVOID COPYRIGHTS ON YOUR CHILDREN'S BOOK COVER
Creating a book cover for a children's book can be a creative and rewarding process, but it's essential to avoid copyright infringement. Here are some guidelines to help you navigate this aspect legally and ethically:
1. Understand Copyright Basics
Original Work Protection: Copyright law protects the rights of creators over their original works, which include not just books but also illustrations, photographs, and other forms of artistic expression. This protection means that others cannot use these works without permission.
Automatic Protection: Unlike trademarks or patents, copyright protection is automatic as soon as the work is created and fixed in a tangible form. This includes digital formats.
2. Use Public Domain Materials
Public Domain Criteria: Works published before 1924 are generally in the public domain in the United States. Additionally, works can enter the public domain if the copyright holder intentionally places them there or if the copyright expires.
Finding Public Domain Works: Websites like Project Gutenberg (for texts), Wikimedia Commons (for images), and the Public Domain Review offer vast collections of public domain materials. Always verify the status of a work before using it.
3. Utilize Creative Commons Licenses
Types of CC Licenses: Creative Commons licenses range from the most permissive (CC0, which is equivalent to public domain) to more restrictive licenses that may require attribution (CC BY), prohibit commercial use (CC BY-NC), or prevent derivative works (CC BY-ND).
Finding CC-Licensed Works: Use platforms like Flickr, Unsplash, and Pexels, which offer filters to search for images with specific types of Creative Commons licenses.
4. Create Original Artwork
Hiring Professionals: Working with a professional illustrator can ensure your book cover is unique and tailored to your vision. Websites like Behance, Dribbble, and Upwork can help you find talented illustrators.
DIY Tools: If you choose to create your own illustrations, tools like Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, and Clip Studio Paint offer powerful features for digital art creation.
5. Use Stock Images with Proper Licenses
Understanding Stock Licenses: Stock image websites typically offer various licenses, such as standard and extended licenses. Standard licenses often cover basic use cases, while extended licenses might be needed for higher print runs or broader usage.
Key Stock Image Sites: Websites like Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, and iStock provide detailed licensing agreements. Always read and understand these agreements to ensure compliance.
6. Avoid Trademarks and Recognizable Characters
Trademarked Elements: Using logos, brand names, or other trademarked elements without permission can result in legal issues. Trademarks protect the brand identity and goodwill associated with those elements.
Recognizable Characters: Popular characters from books, films, or other media are protected by copyright and often trademark law. Unless they are in the public domain, using them without permission is illegal.
7. Get Permissions
Requesting Permission: If you want to use a specific image or artwork, contact the copyright holder directly. This may involve negotiating a licensing fee or agreeing to specific usage terms.
Documenting Permissions: Keep written records of all permissions and licenses. This documentation can protect you if any legal questions arise about your use of the material.
8. Consult Legal Advice
When to Seek Legal Help: If you're unsure about any aspect of copyright law or how it applies to your book cover, consulting a copyright attorney is a wise step. They can provide tailored advice and help you navigate complex legal issues.
Resources for Legal Advice: Organizations like Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts offer legal assistance to artists and creatives.
9. Fair Use Doctrine
Understanding Fair Use: Fair use allows for limited use of copyrighted material without permission for specific purposes, such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research. However, it's a complex and often ambiguous doctrine.
Assessing Fair Use: Courts consider factors like the purpose and character of the use (commercial vs. educational), the nature of the copyrighted work, the amount used, and the effect on the market for the original work. Commercial uses, like book covers, typically do not fall under fair use.
10. Stay Informed
Keeping Updated: Copyright laws and the status of works entering the public domain change over time. Following legal blogs, subscribing to newsletters from copyright organizations, and regularly checking authoritative sources can help you stay informed.
Public Domain Day: Every January 1st, new works enter the public domain. Keeping track of these additions can provide fresh material for your projects.
By following these detailed guidelines, you can create a book cover that is both legally compliant and creatively fulfilling. Avoiding copyright infringement not only protects you from potential legal issues, but also upholds the integrity and respect of other creators' rights.

Production Day 4
Alright after a kind of shity day on Friday, we had a break on Saturday and the next shoot day was Sunday. So we had one shot which was outdoors. I and Joseph had found the location by mistake and I really like the location. This was the kidnapping shot. However, we did not have the permission of the location just because there was no one to actually ask for permission. Joe had gone and asked a lot of people who that building belonged to button no one knew anything about it. We still decided to shoot that location with a very minimal crew and very little equipment. However, during moving equipment from Merchiston to the location we forgot the monitor. Therefore we did have a small problem. So we were using an ND filter outside, and for some reason, the ND filter changed a few colors which was super weird. Our blacks and greys completely changed the colors and since we did not have a monitor, we never noticed that until it was too late. We now have to try and fix it in the post but it was quite upsetting. It was quite weird because it only changed a few blacks and some colors. Again, In a positive aspect, we did learn something new and now know to check the ND but yeah it only changed that shot which is again very weird. After that shot, now had to go shoot the dancing bit. `something I was super excited for. We were shooting in the Merchiston drama room. So the lighting started to happen. The make-up and costume took a bit more time than what we expected but it was worth it. After this, it was quite straightforward. We shot the dance sequence and packed up for the whole shoot!!!

Sabbatical In The Garden
Tumblr media
Migrant workers taking a sabbatical in a town park. Photo credit: Jonathan Chua.
This was taken under an overcast sky. An ND grad filter to darken the sky here could’ve darkened the tree canopies as well. So instead, I underexposed the image by a stop and did further darkening in post where the sky was selected a section at a time and darkened in varying degrees. Some chromatic aberration were also fixed by desaturating the reds and magenta channels.

cw: swearing, vent
nd culture is messing shit up.. like a lot. it’s really hard to be a good person and be a good friend when you do something with the best of intentions and don’t realize how wrong and fucked up it is. and everyone thinks you’re horrible because you did the thing or said that thing without thinking or realizing it’s harmful. and then you have to live with your disgusting self knowing that you did that, and you are to stupid and shitty to realize it was wrong. i fucking hate myself and idk how to cope with that and still try and be a better person when my brain filters out all the cues to tell me when something is bad. it’s really scary knowing that one day i could just fuck up again and loose the last things i still have. i’m so sorry to everyone. but sorry doesn’t matter, it doesn’t fix anything. i am a fucking horrible person and i don’t know how to fix it
fuck me

July Horoscopes: Fixed Drama
Saturn, Mars, and Uranus are all forming a T-Square at the beginning of the month. Things will ease a little a few weeks in as Mars breaks free from the aspect. Everyone will feel this energy since it has made us angry, go at a slow pace and we may feel like we have not accomplished what we would like. However, this month has a lot of changes and movement in store for everyone. The New Moon in Cancer on the 9th is going to serve as an awakening for most of the signs, especially Water signs, as we tune back into our emotions since this is the transition from Air to Water season. Venus and Mars will be moving into Virgo later in the month on the 21st and 29th respectively. A transit that is going to make Earth signs feel more energized. The Sun and Mercury will enter the sign of Leo, a positive feat for Fire signs and Jupiter will return to Aquarius (28th) and the Full Moon in Aquarius on the 23rd will allow Air signs to feel like they are back in the game. There is a lot happening and while it all moves slowly, the shifts will be more prominent once the summer ends. For now, be patient and go slow because rushing will get you nowhere.
Aries – The Sun entering Leo on the 22nd and the Full Moon in Aquarius on the 23rd are going to allow you to focus on major transformations in your social circles. This is also a good transit to switch up your creative styles and try something new if you are an artist. Get ready to feel the intensity of your emotions with the New Moon in Cancer in the 9th as you find the balance between home and career. Mercury entering the same sign on the 11th giving you the plan needed to make some good interior decorating decisions or just strike a deal for a raise at work. For the next four weeks you are going to prioritize self-care and opt to stay and hang with family or close friends. Venus in Virgo also sends a reminder to add a little self-love into your routine when the transit begins on the 21st. Mercury will be in Leo on the 27th, so use this transit to write up a storm, draw, get into photography, sing, anything, really. Jupiter will finally go back into the sign of Aquarius on the 28th and you might expect the unexpected (good) surprises and recognition you deserve.
Taurus – Rebuilding your relationship with your creative side is the theme for the month. When the New Moon in Cancer appears on the 9th, you will be fueled with inspiration. Another plus is that Mercury will be in Cancer on the 11th, motivating and allowing you to be more confident in your self-expression. Venus enters earthy Virgo on the 21st and this trine to your sign is going to add more excitement to your social circles. The Sun enters the sign of Leo on the 22nd, a time for you to take a little breather and focus on home and roots for the next month. When the Full Moon in Aquarius happens on the 23rd, you are going to feel the impact the last six months have had on your career. You will finally see your hard work paying off (assuming you put in the effort). With Mercury in Leo n the 27th, you are going to feel more comfortable in your surroundings and once again, the topics relating to home and your roots take center stage. You might feel compelled to dig deeper into your family history during this transit. The Jupiter Retrograde in Aquarius on the 28th will bring more questions about work and your drive and goals for the future so this is your reminder to stay focused. On the 29th, Mars enters Virgo, expect more excitement with your new (or current) romantic partner as you find new ways to express your love.
Gemini – July is bringing you familiarity. While you find new ways to adjust your finances, the New Moon in Cancer on the 9th, will add some good tactics for growth. Budgeting will come to play with Mercury entering Cancer on the 11th. During the Sun’s entry in Leo, you are going to feel once more in your element, focused on what you have to say and write. Venus enters Virgo on the 21st, a good opportunity to make some renovations at home if you have been thinking about it for a while. Things intensify for you with the Full Moon in Aquarius on the 23rd as you feel more in command with yourself during this time. An opportunity to learn from a new course, class or book has presented itself in the last six months, so now will be your time to be tested on your knowledge. Are you ready? Mercury joins the sun on the 27th, bringing you new insights and a joy for the work you have created. Jupiter returns to the sign of Aquarius on the 28th with more lessons and questions about your path and inner growth. If you want to learn more, Saturn will still be there teaching you to evolve. Mars will enter Virgo on the 29th, closing the month but this will be an interesting transit, offering more opportunities to perfect and learn more through the comforts of your home.
Cancer – We are officially in Cancer Season and the New Moon in your sign on the 9th will redirect your goals as the focus is brought back to you, so treat yourself. Mercury in your sign on the 11th will initiate a period of confidence and it will be easy for you to steal the spotlight since everyone will notice how sharp you are during this transit. On the 21st, Venus will be in Virgo, adding a touch of romance to your mind and the way you communicate. You command everyone’s attention now and Venus gives you more magnetism. The Sun will be in Leo on the 22nd bringing a shift to your spending habits. With the Full Moon on the 23rd, you might be more aware than before about where you are planning to see yourself financially for the future. With Mercury in Leo on the 27th, this is all about making plans and being wiser about your purse. You might also be more intrigued to dive deeper and learn about the mystical. Jupiter will move from Pisces to Aquarius, bringing you back down to Earth but adding more optimism in your life. Mars enters Virgo on the 29th, more of the themes Venus brought in but you now must be more aware of how you say things.
