i just made myself sad by realizing that the main fic of ROTD takes place in 1877, nine years before my favorite painting ever would be finished :(
#on the plus side van gogh's still got several years left to live#starry night wont be painted for another 12 years tho#ROTD#fitting ROTD into irl history is very fun to me#for example#marie curie and frank lloyd wright are both 10#henry ford is 14 and arthur conan doyle is 18#tolkien isnt even born but lewis carrol is 45#edison is 30 but his light bulbs wont be invented for two more years#(tesla for comparison is 21)#(so is freud. however he wont come up with the batshit insane complex for roughly another 20 years)#for the record the painting is A Sunday Afternoon on La Grande Jette#and ROTD takes place on January 8th and 9th of 1877
