Dominicans find it hard to believe this is the only white meat I'm interested in: #Coconut 😂 this was after I drank up all the yummy fresh coconut water. Not gonna lie, it be hard out here for a Vegan. They have no idea what to do with me. Lol Usually it's not that bad bc there's so much fresh fruit, but I arrived before anything was really in season locally. I could see the baby fruit hanging on the trees for miles but alas, not ready yet. 😔 Word of advice: if you're staying in more rural, natural areas (which is my preference), buy your groceries in the city to get a larger selection of fruits and vegetables. Pack any supplemental foods (protein bars & snacks) just in case. That said, I enjoyed my diet of eggplant, plantains, raw almonds, various nuts, zapote, watermelon, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, rice, beans and copious amounts of coconuts. See?
