Hi all, I fished a match on Wednesday 16th November at Harescombe match lake. Full of F1s,carp,barbel,bream,Rudd and roach. On this day I caught all my fish next to the island at 14 meters up in the water ending up with a weight of 17 lbs 14 oz which as a result led me to take second place! The tackle I chose to use was a shallow rig long line of 3 pound main line and a 2.8 lbs hook length with 22 size hook. My method of attack on the day was to fish in the middle with inch hook length on the bottom to keep it still and fish using maggot because it was very cold the night before so I was trying to find the deepest part of the lake in hopes that the fish might be there. Unfortunately I didn’t get any fish so I came shallow just to test it out I caught one straight away I don’t know why I caught there because it was freezing cold so they don’t tend to be there. My mate Matt Collins, done very well he went on the bottom 14 meters out next to the boards and fished maggot. His end weight was 17lbs 4 oz so as the match drew to a close we both ended a hard fishing day in the cold.
