Thursday Throwdown: Footy fans in for a feast with 18 games in 13 days
It’s a good time to be an AFL fan.
Over the next 13 days, there will be 18 games of footy played, starting tonight when West Coast take on Sydney at Domain Stadium.

There’s also the league’s first Good Friday clash between North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs and the now regular Easter Monday blockbuster between fierce rivals Hawthorn and Geelong.
Next week there will only be three days without football with the action continuing the following Monday with the Anzac Eve game between Richmond and Melbourne and the traditional Anzac Day clash on Tuesday between Essendon and Collingwood.

The only questions is: how many of these games will be live on free-to-air tv?
With this in mind, our crack(pot) panel returns to runs discuss the burning questions ahead of round four.
The panel:
Michael Stamp (6PR reporter and office oddsmaker), Tim Carrier (office fantasy football addict), Brendan Foster (resident grumpy old man), David Prestipino (wine-ing footy tragic), Justin Rake (long-suffering Fremantle fan)

Burning Question: Will football on Good Friday for the first time in AFL history be a success?
Headline you’d like to see: Demons give Freo the heave-ho
Tune in: Tonight’s opener between West Coast and Sydney. Two teams touted as premiership chances facing off in Round Four with big stakes on the line. Clear match of the round.
Tune out: Carlton v Gold Coast. Apart from watching Gary Ablett who’s finding some form, I can’t find a reason to watch this.
Pick of the round: Sydney +19.5 against the Eagles at $1.92. The Swans have only one bad quarter a game in their three losses. They’re a good side despite almost 10 kids playing in their team. I think it’ll be close tonight and the Swans will push the Eagles.
Tips: West Coast, Bulldogs, Melbourne, GWS, Gold Coast, Adelaide, St Kilda, Richmond, Geelong.

Burning question: Can the Dockers do what the Eagles couldn’t and win on the MCG?
Headline you’d like to see: Leaping Lions shock timid Tigers in battle of the big cats
Tune in: To the Easter Monday clash. Since this Hawks/Cats fixture has become a regular part of the calendar, it has always been one of the home and away games of the year. And, with Hawthorn having everything to play for there couldn’t be higher stakes.
Tune out: With 18 games on the agenda in quick succession and just three days without a footy match in the next 13 days, it’s going to be a feast for AFL fans. So, once you turn the tv on tonight, keep it running and don’t tune out because all the games have something riding on them.
Pick of the round: Beware the wounded champions. Sydney and the Hawks are too good to continue losing so the $3.50 for the Swans against the Eagles who are coming off a 5-day break and $2.94 for the Hawks looks good value. Or look at the line for both games, Sydney (+19.5) and Hawks (+15.5) at $1.92.
Tips: West Coast, Bulldogs, Melbourne, GWS, Gold Coast, Adelaide, St Kilda, Richmond, Hawthorn

Burning Question: Can Freo find the passion two weeks in a row against Melbourne?
Headline you’d like to see: Dockers overcome MCG demons to get season back on track
Tune in: Hawthorn v Geelong on Easter Monday. So much is riding on this match for the once-mighty Hawks. Lose against their modern-day rivals and their season is all but over.
Tune out: Not one game seems boring this round. Even Brisbane v Richmond has massive implications for both.
Pick of the round: The $3.40 on Freo to beat Melbourne is juicy, as is the $3.60 for unlucky North against the Bulldogs on Friday night.
Tips: West Coast, Bulldogs, Fremantle, GWS, Adelaide, Carlton, St Kilda, Brisbane, Geelong.

Justin:
Burning question: Will a tonne of flathead fillets be enough fish for Etihad Stadium on Good Friday?
Headline you’d like to see: Smokin’ hot Dockers overcome Hogan-less Demons.
Tune in: Hawthorn v Geelong: The Hawks can’t possibly be as bad as we think they are, right?
Tune out: Gold Coast v Carlton: Both sides were good in round three, surely that makes one of them due for a drop in form.
Pick of the round: Sydney is paying $3.15 to beat a West Coast side coming off a loss and a five-day break. The Swans haven’t started 0-4 for 24 years.
Tips: Sydney, Bulldogs, Fremantle, GWS, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Collingwood, Richmond, Geelong.
