AND SO IT BEGINS
I transferred the motif to the embroidery fabric - don’t ask what it’s called in English XD - and finalised the composition. It is too late in the evening now to pic the threads, so i will do that tomorrow in proper daylight. Because under electric light, all the colours look wrong, you know. I think I’ll have to readjust the hoop so it is properly centred, then i’ll start with the quote and move around clockwise, like i would with a painting. Until then - i am always open for colour suggestions :3
THIS IS A WIP @a-dinosaur-a-day recently made this great text post that i put in the middle here. My idea when i saw the post was to use it for an embroidery piece and i am collecting some ideas here (and also wait for eir approval before going forth because obviously the quote is not mine) So my thoughts are: - quote in the middle, using either this font (easy to cross-stitch) or a different one, has yet to be determined. - dinosaur fossil amid Cretaceous (or from an earlier period) plants on upper half of the circle. i kind of would like to create a fading effect with the dead dino being both visibly fossilised, as in stylised bones, but also with its feathers being visible. will probably use satin stitch for all of this. - flying bird on bottom half (my mock-up shows a macaw but maybe i'll change that too). i have this vague concept of connecting their tails via a trail of loose feathers but since i am Like That i will do some research to what we know about early feathers first. - in order to close the circle, i am thinking about adding some contemporary plants that have a resemblance to ancient ferns etc. to the right half. not sure about that yet though. All in all, this is the most ambitious embroidery project i'll do as of now. my embroidery so far has all been premade pattern-based and mostly cross stitch, so this will be a learning curve. however, i am looking forward to doing this :)

Gigi Hadid's Yellow Bikini Is the Reminder We Needed That Winter Won't, in Fact, Go on Forever
Gigi Hadid brought a little extra sunshine with her to Mexico. The model recently shared a few photos of herself taking some time to lounge in a yellow-gold bikini while on location. Gigi accessorized her Fisch scoop-neck bikini top, which features unexpected ruched straps, with an embroidered straw hat.
Gigi has been wearing the sunny shade a lot lately: if you scroll back a little on her Instagram feed, you'll see she wore a yellow-gold Off-White sweater during Paris Fashion Week, as well as a t-shirt in the same color just last week. Sensing a pattern, huh? We'll take it as a sign of the warmer months to come. Shop Gigi's exact bikini top and other similar options ahead.

Amy Schumer Shares Wedding Photos, Insists She's 'Not Pregnant'
Amy Schumer confirmed the wedding reports with one word.
"Yup," she captioned a photo stream from her and chef Chris Fischer's nuptials.
In the images, Schumer has her hair swept up in a messy braid, and is wearing a re-embroidered lace and tulle A-line Monique Lhuillier gown that included a ballet bodice. As for the groom, he wore a simple black suit.
Schumer's sister, Kim Caramele, appears to have been one of the bridesmaids, as she's pictured with another girl wearing matching pink dresses and floral crowns.
The ceremony also included black fluffy dogs walking down the aisle and the stomping of glass, which is a tradition in Jewish weddings.
Schumer's friend, Jennifer Lawrence, was among the guests and sweetly kissed the bride on the forehead in one photo.

After posting pics from her wedding, Schumer had a message for her Instagram followers. "Two things," she began. "No, I'm not pregnant, and no gifts -- but thank you for asking."
The I Feel Pretty star added, "Instead, please consider [a] donation to EveryTown for gun safety. Thought of Mayce and Jillian a lot yesterday and sending love to everyone who has been affected by gun violence."
No gifts but consider a donation to @everytown

Schumer's call for donations to the nonprofit organization, which advocates for gun control and against gun violence, comes after the shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida, on Wednesday.
She later posted even more photos from the wedding, revealing that Aidy Bryant, Vanessa Bayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Chelsea Handler and Larry David -- who just so happens to be one of Lawrence's celebrity crushes -- were in attendance, as well as David's daughter, Cazzie.

The bride and groom were first linked together in November, when they were spotted on a candlelit dinner date in New York City.

Colours have been chosen. I think an off-white/ivory shade would work better for the stylised bones than stark white. What I am not sure about yet is whether or not I'm going to include orange yet. Mostly because the only orange I still have that is not reserved for my shirt embroidery projects is a very neon like colour and atm I'm too broke to buy new orange in a different shade.
Anyway, stay tuned for the next update later today :)
