What bass is right for you

When you walk into a music store whether it’s a local shop or Guitar Center, you can easily get overwhelmed with the amount of basses these places carry. There are so many brands to choose from. For someone who is just getting into this hobby, this could cause a lot of confusion and stress. Brands like Ibanez, Fender, Musicaman, Warwick, Schecter, and ESP all have so many models/options to chose from.

Regardless who your favorite bass player is or what your friends play, you should always just sit down and play any bass that is appealing to you. This cannot just be visually appealing. You need to know how the bass feels, plays and sounds. Although this blog is focusing on Ibanez, if the instrument you try out is perfect for you, go for it! In the end, it is all your preference.

If you do in fact find yourself liking and wanting an Ibanez bass, you have to understand what each bass can do for you. Some basses are even specifically made for certain types of music styles. For example, you don’t always need to buy a six-string bass if you are playing in a metal band. Although six-string basses have the low B, they also have the high C string. This to some people could be an unnecessary option.

What I love about Ibanez is their bass collection always has something for everyone. There are hundreds of Ibanez basses out there whether they are past models or the new ones. As previously stated in the “30th Anniversary of the SR bass”, I briefly discussed all of the different subcategories to the SR series bass guitars. With each category for all of their models comes with better options, woods and performance. I highly recommend you take some time to do research and go out there and try some out!
