Hi, lovelies! Welcome to my first writing challenge. First, I want to thank each and every one of you for following me, supporting my work, and cheering me on. I appreciate and love all of you. This is the first time I have ever hosted one of these, so bear with me and I hope you enjoy it! Anyone can participate as long as you're at least 18!

CATS Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre - Hudson, FL (with Pics)

Thanks to Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre for renting our set and having us for the past two weeks in the Junkyard. It's always a delight working with Chaz, and we got to know an incredible cast and crew. I'm not sure how many hashtags I can use so I am going to include the cast list here for pics that arrive since all of you are so talented at Tumblr (the cast is so intrigued by Superfans, btw!)

We had many challenges with a dinner theatre because the stage is very small in order to accommodate tables. As well, actors serve patrons so I needed to design an outfit to protect the costumes and suspend disbelief. And from patron reactions, we've been told this is one of the best openings, if not the best opening, and the best show/costume the theatre has had to date and hoped we'd be back, which was very, very kind of them.

Mungojerrie/Macavity split track, played by Andre Spathelf-Sanders and yeah, this jerk who keeps showing up. I adore the whole cast to bits truly but we're planning on cosplaying Green Lantern together and he was the first to get my "Archer" references in the make up classes. If it's ever of interest, I'm happy to sometime talk about my make up classes and what to do when there are "mistakes" with what I call the Bob Ross Method.

Demeter by Iraya Catalina is making an argument that maybe all Demeters need to be Filipino because she slays!

Jennyanydots and her incredibly supportive husband. She was one of the most delightful people to work with, hilarious, fun, loving, amazing hugs, and just a joy. I've never had a Jenny almost refuse to take the Gumbie suit off (which is a huge compliment). What a joy.

David was the make up designer for all of the designs except Bombalurina's, and I taught about 5-hours of make up classes.

The magic of an incredible LED screen came into play as there were cool effects, such as a first person POV of a cat going to the junkyard (bringing YOU into the show) and the sky changing with the hours of the day, the moon, everything. The lighting designer Dalton Hamilton was wonderful and provided the following photographs. All costumes designed/created by David and myself (The Costume Asylum/Siegert Creative):

I am going to try to get some rehearsal pics and one of the funniest bloopers ever but I hope this is a nice start. Happy Sunday, I'm happy to be home, but I miss these kitties so much already!

Each passing day, I become more and more of that "how do you do fellow young people" meme, I swear.

Not sure how long it'll take to get back because I got 2 hours of sleep last night, flew in, and today is a "fuck it, let's order dominos" day. ... but... ordering dominos... is hard. moving is hard. falling down the stairs... easier than anticipated. 0/10 do not recommend.

Progress Reflection - 4/10/23

Posting has been going steady, and it's especially interesting being able to see the numbers that I'm collecting personally and the stats that Instagram provides for their business account setting! Here's a peek at the last two weeks of posting and engagement.

For my data I'm keeping track of engagement (likes/comments/shares/bookmarks) as well as post insights (exposure to followers and non-followers which when added together creates total reach and recording total impressions).

So far it has been steady with the impression that Reels are the best way to gain attention to grow a new audience as consistently I've been reaching high engagement and reach with them. The lowest engagement and reach I've received for a Reel is 33 and 111 respectively, while the highest is 150 and 870 respectively.

As for regular posts, the lowest engagement and reach I've received is 0 and 9 respectively, and the highest being 12 and 10. For the impressions of my regular posts, they completely consist of who is currently following me as opposed to my Reels where majority of the reach are non-followers.

Not recorded in my sheets--but screenshotted from the data of my individual posts--I've also come to realize for regular posts utilizing hashtags doesn't seem to bring extra attention unless I'm going about them the wrong way. I make sure to use hashtags that are relevant to what I'm posting, especially if it's fanart of a game or show I'll use multiple tags in relation to it. But under the Impressions detail most of the views are coming from the Home page aka those who are currently following me. Unfortunately, for Reels they don't share a similar data record to show where people are seeing my videos whether it's through the home page, explore page, hashtags, or others means.

Aside from data collection--I've actually come to really enjoy creating Reels as it's become a fun experience after getting past the "cringe" factor I was facing when I first started. Video recording and editing was never my forte, so going through the process felt embarrassing like I was doing something wrong at a new job. But now it's fun, especially doing the transitions between clips!

Other than that, I have this week and next week to complete my posting and data collection just to try to get as much information as possible about my posting experiences.

I've also finally completed the mockup for my website design, it took me less than an hour and a half, who would've imagined how easy it was? Shout out to executive dysfunction for that one! Here's a glance at it.

Thanks to having a posting matrix I won't have to worry about posting this week or the next, so I can focus my time into writing out my website copy for my main pages and developing visuals and graphs alongside of them. Once that's completed I'll be able to create a final mockup and receive approval/feedback from Sharla.

I'm not too concerned about getting this done as long as I really use my time wisely as once I have all the elements together, it's as simple as copy and pasting it onto the actual website builder I'll be using. If anything, I'll just be worried about the completion of my "Research" page as I'll only be able to partially complete it until I finish my posting on my Instagram page to go over all of the data I've collected. I'm aiming to get most of it done by the ending of this week, I think it's manageable for sure.

was supposed to go to Sydney on Wednesday for a 6 day holiday to see Hamilton (second attempt after my 2020 trip to America was cancelled). Sydney trip was cancelled when they went into lockdown and the border closed.

so we decided to staycation at home. had a bunch of fun things planned. as of 8pm last night we are now in lockdown until at least Thursday - and if history shows us anything there is a 99% chance of it being extended.

What did you think of Promising Young Woman?

I thought it was really good. It was intense and difficult to watch at times and 100% won’t be for everyone. The main character does some pretty drastic and problematic things but you totally get why she’s doing them. The ending was pretty shocking (to me anyway, both in terms of what happens and how I didn’t see it coming) and I think a lot of people will have problems with it which is completely valid. But I guess for me, it’s not that I liked the ending, but it made sense in a twisted way. (i don’t want to say too much coz spoilers lol.) So yeah, it was one of those intense movies that won’t be for everyone but I was still glad I watched it.

oh man suits fandom in the early days was amazing. everyone was super friendly. amazing fic was dropping on a regular basis. no drama or ship wars. good times.

listen to silence (buck/eddie)

Buck was quiet. Too quiet.

The whole drive out to Texas he’d been talkative, bubbly, practically bouncing in his seat and driving Eddie and Hen to distraction. Even when they were trying to rest up Buck just kept going. Eddie couldn’t be annoyed by it though. That’s just who Buck was. And Eddie loved who Buck was.

The return trip was something entirely different. Buck was dead quiet, just sitting there silently staring out the window. A few times Eddie tried to coax conversation out of him, but Buck never took the openings offered. He didn’t press too hard – it had been a long and rough couple of days. But as they drew closer to home Eddie decided he couldn’t let this go. Something was clearly wrong, and he was going to make sure Buck knew he could talk to him about it.

So when they arrived back at the firehouse Eddie turned to Buck and said, “I’m kinda beat, would you mind dropping me off at home?”

Buck, of course, agreed without hesitation, despite the fact it would considerably add to his journey home. They climbed in his car and enjoyed another silent drive.

When they pulled up to Eddie’s house he didn’t get out of the car, instead he turned his body and full attention towards Buck and simply said, “Talk to me.”

It took a minute or so, but finally Buck did.

“You know, my whole life, I’ve had people take one look at me and think they know who I am. Evan Buckley: the dumb, straight, superficial, careless jock. And if I’m honest, I didn’t fight it. I let them think whatever they wanted. I don’t know why. Maybe because it was what my parents thought I was too so I thought, hey, if that’s what my own parents think maybe it’s actually true. Even though I knew inside that that person wasn’t me.”

Whatever Eddie had been expecting it wasn’t this. He’d never met Buck’s parents, and to be honest, the more he heard the less he wanted to meet them. Mostly because he wasn’t sure he could refrain from telling them what fucking idiots they were.

“But I’ve been noticing, for the last year or two, that when people meet me now they don’t necessarily assume those things. And you know what,” Buck started to smile, finally, the first one he’d seen in a day. “It makes me really fucking happy.”

Eddie grinned at that. How could he not?

Buck chuckled lightly. “TK thought I was hitting on him.”

Eddie’s smile instantly fell from his face.

“I wasn’t, obviously. I mean, he’s an awesome dude, but not at all my type. But it got me to thinking…”

Buck trailed off, and Eddie wondered if it was because he wasn’t yet ready to share his thoughts. And if that was the case, then Eddie wouldn’t push. Nothing pissed him off more than people who assumed they had the right to your inner thoughts whenever they wanted. So he reached out and put a hand on Buck’s forearm, hoping to offer a modicum of support. He noticed Buck’s other hand move slightly, as though he wanted to cover Eddie’s hand with his own but changed his mind at the last second. Before he realized what he was doing Eddie trailed his hand down to Buck’s exposed wrist, needing the skin on skin contact, and he wrapped his fingers around Buck’s wrist and squeezed slightly.

“You can tell me if you want. But if you’re not ready I can get out of this car right now and we can talk about it when you are.”

Buck took in a deep breath. “He was so nonchalant about it, you know. So comfortable with who he was. I might have stalked him online afterwards. There are so many pictures of him and his boyfriend with everyone from the 126. it’s just so not a big deal.”

“Nor should it be.”

“I agree. But there is a part of me I’ve always hidden from people because I was worried how it would affect my job. Which I know sounds stupid because it’s 2020 and we have Hen and there’s no reason my bisexuality should be an issue. But like I said: dumb, straight, superficial, careless jock. So I just hid it.”

“And now you don’t want to?”

Buck nodded. “I mean, there have been comments over the last year or so. And I was thinking about it on the drive, and I realized,” Buck looked at him then, for the first time since this conversation began, “that those comments have mostly been about you. Because when I’m with you, it’s like … it’s like I get to be my real self.”

Eddie swallowed thickly. He didn’t know what this was. Was it a declaration? A statement of fact just told to clear the air? Eddie knew what he wanted it to be, and he thought Buck had been so brave in telling him all this that now it was his turn.

“Did you want to come in? Chris would love to have you over for breakfast.”

A look of confusion swept over Bucks’ face. “But it’s the middle of the night, he won’t be up for hours.”

Eddie looked right at Buck, a small smile tugging at his lips when he said with great significance, “I know.”

Buck’s smile lit up his whole face. “Yeah, I’d like that.”

So they got out of the car and walked side by side down the path towards the porch, so close their shoulders were knocking together. Eddie let the back of his hand brush against Buck’s once, twice, and then on the third go Buck reached out and tangled their fingers together as they walked inside.
