Chapter 4: One For The Road...
@pepperonyscience @authortobenamedlater @thefinaljediknight @p0tat0-g0ddess @ionlymadethissoicouldleaveanask @helix-enterprises117 @purple-purple-pink-purple (Out of character, just real quick I appreciate everyone's patience with the delay to the campaign. The bug that blew through the ToBeNamedLater household had myself an ATBNL down pretty hard. We are doing much better, so back to it!) STORY CONTINUES BELOW: Picking up where our story left off, and advancing the story timeline slightly, all of you have evacuated your dead bunker and are on a dusty remain of a highway. Your group is a motley collection of fangirls @authortobenamedlater @thefinaljediknight @p0tat0-g0ddess. You also have one cattle wrangler @ionlymadethissoicouldleaveanask, a pilot (latecomer @purple-purple-pink-purple who was sleeping in the back room of the bunker for the last six months because that's just how much naps moms need to catch up) and a human survivor @helix-enterprises117 with an overpowered cybernetic fist that makes him look a bit like a fiddler crab. Despite the time being high noon, the sky has an orange haze on account of the extra particulates in the atmosphere, the telltale signs that a nuclear winter could be coming. Off in the distance you can see the burnt out remains of a city with the barely legible roadsigns indicating it is the town of Pueblo, Colorado.
Very little seems to be moving on the surface. You've seen a few scavengers, mostly crows, vultures and carrion eaters but nothing else of significance. You have heard a few rustles of *something* that seems to be following you, but haven't been able to make it out. The roadway is littered with the remains of burned out cars, the bodies now just skeletons or ash. The air is cold and dry on account of the reduced solar gain, lack of precipitation, and shortened days for October. You are all wearing matching desert camouflage uniforms (DCU's) surplus from the Desert Storm era. They blend in fairly well to the environment. For equipment you each have a matching pack in the same camouflage pattern. Inside each pack is the following: a bedroll, a poncho tarp for shelter, some waterproof matches, some water purification straws, a change of clothes and extra underwear/socks, a hand crank emergency AM/FM radio receiver and flashlight combo, a first aid kit, compass, map, spare boot laces, some fishing equipment and some paracord. You each also have a few quarts of water apiece along with some survival lifeboat rations, enough to last a week or so with careful use. For weapons, you each at a minimum are equipped with a survival knife and sheath. You all managed to scavenge a few other weapons in the bunker. For firearms there are two Glock handguns of mismatched calibers (9mm and .45 automatic respectively) and limited ammunition for each of just three preloaded magazines apiece due to weight and size limits. There is a singular AR-pattern rifle with iron sights and two magazines. The rest are carrying either a baseball bat, crowbar or tire iron as they choose to do so. These arms are distributed among the group to those that are best trained in their use. Overall, you aren't in the worst condition weapon-wise, but it's clear that scavenging ammunition and being selective with your engagements is going to be critical for now. An extended firefight could draw a lot of attention and burn through your at-present limited ammunition needlessly. Your orange avatar is riding in @authortobenamedlater's pocket. He hasn't said much lately other than the direction to go is northwest. The town of Pueblo is presently to your due north and you are just on the outskirts around the dried remains of Lake Minnequa. Your little group also has a fold-up DeLorme topographical map with the words "Candy Mountain" written in purple crayon and an X crudely drawn over the Almagre Mountain range approximately 50 miles to your north. This would seem to be your destination. The question is, how are you going to get there? It's 50 miles of mostly desert with not much there between Pueblo and the base of the mountain. That's a long way on foot with limited supplies. There appear to be three obvious possible avenues. One is the BNSF railyard in the middle of the bombed out remains of Pueblo which is filled with who knows what. Maybe transportation. Maybe looters. Maybe monsters. There's also the Pueblo airport out east which may offer some options but is in the opposite direction for travel to your destination. You might find something there, or then again it could be a red herring. Circling around Pueblo to the rest there's the aptly named suburb of Pueblo West. Doesn't seem like there's much in the way of transportation choice there, but they do have a number of shops that may yield important supplies. You're sure that you wouldn't be the only survivors thinking the same thing.
There may be other options yet open to you but there’s a problem. Your group is split on which direction to go. The limited weapons and deciding who got what proved to be incredibly unpopular and onerous in the extreme. It's clear that leadership is going to have to be decided on before following whichever path.

idk whose post this is originally and i know this moment was kinda played for laughs in-show but like. they are good enough at hunting animals to find and kill food to eat on a new fucking planet.
they are …. So calm in this situation. they each have their tasks and jobs and they complete them in an orderly fashion, barely even having to talk, like they have a routine for being alone in the middle of the woods. we don’t ever see them doing this, but they must’ve done it before.
at which age do you think john winchester decided his sons needed to learn how to fend for themselves in the Real World and left them in the woods with bows and arrows and knives and said “i’ll be back in 4 days.” cause i’m gonna say 10 and 14? dean might’ve been out on his own before that, with the vague excuse of “training” given to sam to explain his brothers 2 day absence. it was a semi-frequent, maybe quarterly thing throughout their childhoods. obviously not on a Schedule so they never knew when to expect it, but they were always kind of waiting for it. it was just A Thing They Did, just like everything else. a way to prove they were retaining all their training. this was the winchester version of a camping trip. for the first couple years, sam didn’t even know this wasn’t what camping normally meant. he just knew he really hated camping.
one time, john got distracted by a hunt and left them in the alaskan wilderness in october for almost two weeks. one time, john forgot it was sam’s birthday and dean spent any spare time he had looking for cool rocks and leaves to give sam, and promised he’d give him his real presents when they got back. one time, dean got attacked by a goddamn cougar in colorado and sam patched him up and wondered what the tentative friends he had made last week were learning in their tenth grade class. and he hated john but almost cried with relief when he came to get them. dean did almost all the hunting because the very first camping trip, sammy shot a rabbit in the leg and sobbed as it slowly bled to death, and dean never wanted to see that type of anguish again. he hated killing the animals too, but he could do it, because sammy had to eat. he knew john would question it if sam hadn’t improved his skills, so they would set up makeshift archery ranges to practice. and in his reports to john, dean would always give half the kills to sam.
over time, as they got more skilled, john would give them less and less supplies, until at the end they only had a couple weapons each, rope, matches, and a first aid kit. and bobby thought when the boys spent one summer building a fort but refusing the tools he offered them, they were finally being regular kids.
#maybe this is why they wear so many layers….#ready for any weather without warning#the first time sam goes camping. and he’s freaking out but dean is so calm#and he realizes that deans been doing this#and then he’s just. happy that he’s here now too. and tries not to think about how scared he would be if he was alone#and he becomes the Most helpful little camping buddy. doesn’t let dean see how freaked he is#and pretending to be ok actually helps him#but mostly it’s ok because dean is here. his big brother smile assuringly and drops stones in a path to the closest berry bush#‘don’t wander off sammy’ and sam rolls his eyes because he’s supposed to#but he just thinks. where would he wander to? why would he?#and they develop whistles and call signs#and sometimes… on the days when it’s not raining… sam thinks he doesn’t mind this so much#im emo about them#anyway#samdean#teenchesters#raised by wolves#mars.txt#ouroboros#hc#pre series

On this day:
THE PLANET VULCAN
On March 26, 1859, at a small, homemade observatory in the French countryside, Dr. Edmond Modeste Lescarbault observed a tenth planet, beyond Mercury, traveling across the sun. The doctor first noticed a dot in the upper left-hand edge of the sun. After leaving to attend to a patient, he returned hours later and continued following and documenting the dot's slow descent. His evidence convinced the esteemed astronomer Joseph Le Verrier of the existence of this tenth planet: the planet Vulcan. Its gravitational pull explained Mercury's moving closer to the sun by forty-three inches every 100 years.
The first meeting between Lescarbault and Le Verrier was brusque. Le Verrier, irritated after walking nineteen kilometers (twelve miles) from the train station to the doctor's house, was also outraged that nine months had passed before the doctor mentioned the discovery. Le Verrier was also daunted to discover that the doctor had used a large old watch with only minute hands as a chronometer, counting out the seconds with the aid of a pendulum made from an ivory ball and a piece of silken thread. However, the doctor's calculations for the distance of the planet from the sun, worked out on an old pine plank, were sound. He also predicted a return of Vulcan in March 1860. It never appeared.
In 1878, professional astronomer James Watson in Wyoming and Dr. Lewis Swift in Colorado both observed an eclipse of the sun. Each independently reported seeing a celestial object that did not appear in any of the professional charts. Dr. Swift said, "[T]o my mind, without any doubt, it is the long-sought Vulcan. I have never made a more valid observation nor one more free from doubt." Unfortunately, in spite of Lescarbault's sighting and hundreds of other sightings over the years, Vulcan has never been proven to exist.

⤑ Michael Greyeyes, 57, cis male, he/him (angel) 𓇢𓆸 here they come, one of blackwater’s finest— ASHWIN BLYTHE. everyone thinks they're so selfless and kind, but i know that they’re really possessive and insistent. whatever the case, it seems like weird stuff happens wherever they go, ever since they got here 18 years ago, especially at their job as the owner of Blackbear Motel.
FULL NAME: Ashwin Blythe - An'ostin GENDER/PRONOUNS: Cis Male, He/Him AGE: 57 SEXUALITY: Bisexual SPECIES: Angel OCCUPATION: Owner of Blackbear Motel TIME IN BLACKWATER: 18 Years RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single
Full biography under the read more. Please be aware of all trigger warnings before proceeding!
biography -
tw // former drug-dealing, gang-related violence, mouth injury
No one knows where Ash was born, or to whom, but he was found at 9 years old, walking barefoot in the woods outside of Ormiston, Saskatchewan. The farmers who happened upon the lost and freezing kid brought him in for a warm meal and got him a thick blanket. He wouldn’t - couldn’t - talk, and no one recognized him. Without the means to keep him on, he was sent off to work and live with other unfortunate orphaned children in a workhouse in North Dakota.
Ash got a name over time. He was sent off as an extra stablehand, a manure shoveler, a miner. No one wanted him in their family, but they could use his sheer force. Ash rarely spoke, but he collected stories from other teens. Tucked them away for some day.
At 18, Ash was sent off on his own. He’d created his name into something resembling a normal one - Ashwin Blythe. Ashwin to sound more credible for work. Blythe, after the boy in Anne of Green Gables, a book he'd become fond of after learning late in his teens how to read. An aimless wanderer much like when he’d been found as a child. This time, he had workable hands and the conviction of someone desperate to make money and survive. On his own, be damned. Solitary was fine.
He works where they’ll have him. Permanent callouses on his hands by 20. Often the coal scooper on the train, the gas station attendant. He slowly travels inward - an elongated tour of the United States.
At 30, he’s servicing cars in a podunk little town in Minnesota. Drugs are passed around and he watches it all from under a broken Chevy or behind a dinging cash register. He’s given hush money. Pulled in without ever confirming his interest. Soon he’s carrying it to places outside of town. Tucking grams into old work gloves and appearing for hand-offs. He sees handguns tucked into the backs of jeans. Knives on holsters off worn leather belts.
It’s all unofficial, and when he finally gets a new job at 36, he’s passed a bundle of cash to keep quiet - something Ash has never had a problem with. But something slips. Something changes.
He meets someone at a bar - a someone who entices him to talk. Stories of his younger years, funny anecdotes. And out comes his time at the gas station. It’s the first person Ash trusts to open up to. Someone he sees for months and months after.
At 39, Ash is working in Wisconsin when familiar forms come streaming out of a car. Four men attack him - and he's beaten and tortured.
The warning is unforgettable. After a hacking had been done of his tongue with a knife, Ash leaves town- leaves the state. He finds a motel in Colorado that doesn’t ask questions. He works for his room. Mute and spooked, he does his job well. Soon enough, he’s taking on new responsibilities, and managing it all.
Ever trustworthy, ever diligent, Ash once again moves up. All the while, he meets many who come in and out. With more money, he can help others- and he does. He looks out for those in need and he gives them refuge in free rooms. Extra blankets, towels, first-aid kits. He appears sometimes when they least expect it- but when they most need it.
At age 52, Ash owns the whole motel, too.
With more money and more resources, Ash has his tongue looked at and reconstructed at age 55. He still does not talk much if not ever, and his voice is rough and husky. Still, it has given him more freedom.

MEET KYRO !
if you’re hearing KINGS NEVER DIE by EMINEM playing, you have to know KYRO LEE (HE/HIM; CIS MALE) is near by! the THIRTY-ONE year old PROFESSIONAL BOXER has been in denver for, like, 31 years (part-time). they’re known to be quite SELF-CRITICAL, but being KINDHEARTED seems to balance that out. or maybe it’s the fact that they resemble CHARLES MELTON. personally, i’d love to know more about them seeing as how they’ve got those BLOODY KNUCKLES, A FALLING CROWN, BAND-AID OVER EVERY CRACK, FLOWERS GROWING IN LUNGS vibes. and maybe i’ll get my chance if i hang out around the CHERRY CREEK long enough!
basic info.
NAME: kyro lee
AGE: thirty-one
BIRTHPLACE: denver, colorado
CURRENTLY RESIDES: splits his time between denver & new york
BIRTHDAY: july 29th
ZODIAC: leo
GENDER: cis male
PRONOUNS: he/him
SEXUALITY: bisexual
RELATIONSHIP STATUS: single
OCCUPATION: professional boxer
CURRENT TITLES: wba cruiserweight champion
[ tw: heart attack/death ]
• Kyro was born and raised in denver. While his mother and father had split by the time he was three, the two remained good friends and had a great co-parenting relationship. Though most of his time was spent with his mother as his father was often away training.
• Kyro’s father was a world famous boxer who held a number of titles, including heavyweight champion a number of times. From a very young age it was made clear that he hoped Kyro would follow in his footsteps, and for as long as Kyro can remember, this has always been his own goal too. While the two had a great relationship, Kyro often felt suffocated by the elders expectations. Expectations that he now destroys himself with.
• Sadly his father suffered a fatal heart attack three years ago and passed away as a result. Ever since then Kyro has been pushing himself towards the goals he and his father set out for him. While already a household name in boxing, he wants to become the best of the best, and dominate the industry.
• He splits his time currently between denver where his mother resides, and new york where he prefers to be when he’s getting prepared for a fight. His family is the most important thing in his life aside from his career, and everything that he does is for them. Being able to buy his mother a house is by far the greatest accomplishment of his life. He has a few half siblings, but his youngest sister Leona who is six, is the apple of his eye.
HEADCANNONS
• he is honestly such a sweetheart. while at times he can appear intimidating, he would honestly take the shoes off his own feet to give them to someone who needed them. his mother raised him to alway be humble and grateful for what he has.
• cat lover. but he currently doesn’t have one because he doesn’t have the time to dedicate to a pet.
• genuinely loves being in love but doesn’t ever seem to be able to keep a relationship because he can’t help but to prioritize his career and not many are able to handle that.
• is always the shoulder to cry on but wouldn’t dare cry on anyone else’s about his own problems because he prefers to let them fester until he reaches breaking point.
• boxing has opened up a lot of doors for him and in some ways he has a mild celebrity status, doing interviews/appearances and modelling too. though he still gets confused if anyone asks for a photo or an autograph.
POSSIBLE / WANTED CONNECTIONS
high school sweetheart — someone from denver, probably a very cute and innocent past relationship that just fizzled out after high school as they both took different paths. must be from denver!! most definitely his first love and the one that set the standard for how he treats the people he’s with. very fond memories and always a potential to rekindle something !
ex boyfriend — the person he was most serious with but once his career took off he struggled to find the balance and they split because of it. potentially still lingering feelings there or perhaps a little resentment. or maybe both.
best friend — another person that keeps his feet on the ground and reminds him to breathe. this would be the person he confides in most (though still not that much lmao) though he doesn’t need to because they know him inside out.
half-siblings — i imagine his mother and father both went on to have other children and would love some sibling vibes. his mother is white and his father korean, so please keep this in mind!
casual hook-ups / gym-buds / friends !!
please feel free to message me if you’d wanna explore any of these or have anything else in mind I’d love some connections!

Look.
I have made you a chart. A very simple chart.
People say "You have to draw the line somewhere, and Biden has crossed it-" and my response is "Trump has crossed way more lines than Biden".
These categories are based off of actual policy enacted by both of these men while they were in office.
If the ONLY LINE YOU CARE ABOUT is line 12, you have an incredible amount of privilege, AND YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT PALESTINIANS. You obviously have nothing to fear from a Trump presidency, and you do not give a fuck if a ceasefire actually occurs. You are obviously fine if your queer, disabled, and marginalized loved ones are hurt. You clearly don't care about the status of American democracy, which Trump has openly stated he plans to destroy on day 1 he is in office.

Ride of the Valkyrie Chapter 2: The Crypt
My journey through the light has been long and difficult, so it's best to start where it all began.
We called it the Traveler, and its arrival changed us forever. Great cities were built on Mars and Venus. Mercury became a garden world. Human lifespan tripled. It was a time of miracles. We stared out at the galaxy and knew that it was our destiny to walk in the light of other stars.
Nearly two centuries after the arrival of the traveler, I was born. My mother was in the military, so we traveled the world. I got to see the gates of Berlin, the Colosseum in Rome, Cape Canaveral in Florida, the Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, and so many other wonders of the world.
For most of my early life, we had always been moving, but when I turned 14, my mom was stationed permanently in D.C. I made many close friends in high school, it was the first time that I ever had a sense of stability in my life.
When we graduated high school, we all went to the same university. I tried just about everything, but I never could find a major that would work for me, I eventually decided to just go with a liberal arts degree, but I didn't know where I would go with it.
By the end of uni, I was in debt, a lot of it. I wasn't particularly good at art, but it was a fun hobby. I loved drawing the landscapes of all the places I went as a kid, I kept them in the sketchbook that was nearly tied to my hip. The only way I saw forward though, was following in my mother’s footsteps and enlisting.
Basic training was hard, really hard, but I made it through. I was put into a unit whose sole objective was delivering humanitarian aid to places in need, I know, it doesn't sound like a job that a normal military would have, but because of the golden age, there was almost no war. Humanity was experiencing the longest period of peace that the Earth had ever seen, borders were only an invisible line on maps and becoming less and less relevant by the day. But someone needed to be there to help people when a flood, hurricane, or drought occurred to help the people that lived there.
About three years in, I learned about a new experimental brigade that was accepting applicants. It sounded extremely fishy, but the pay was a massive improvement compared to what I currently had, so I signed up for it.
About a week later I got a message saying that my application had been received and accepted. The base for it was in a really remote place in Colorado, I had no clue what the job entails, but at this point, it was too late to go back now. When we got there, they gave us nametags with some codenames on them, the person to my left got Archangel, to my right they got Goliath, and I got Valkyrie.
They funneled us into a massive room, I think the entire brigade was there. In the front of the room, there was a stage with two people on it. The first guy was in a full military uniform and was the Colonel, but the man next to him was in a suit, maybe he was a civilian? I didn’t know. The Colonel stood tall at the podium, his voice carrying a sense of authority and determination. "All of you gathered here are the courageous individuals who have volunteered for this brigade to push the boundaries of science in our practical applications. Our unit is dedicated to exploring the untapped potential of scientific advancements. This endeavor will have its challenges; it will be arduous, and some of you may not return. Yet, your sacrifices will echo through generations, benefiting all of humanity.
We are not engaged in a conventional war. Instead, we are in a relentless battle against time itself. Our mission is to expedite the path to a brighter future for all of humanity.
Now, I will yield the floor to Clovis Bray, the executive of the Braytech corporation, to elucidate the specifics of your mission."
"Thank you, Colonel," Clovis responded, his voice emanating an unmistakable air of self-centeredness and annoyance.
"As per the colonel's instructions, your upcoming mission marks the pinnacle of merging science and humanity. Braytech's legacy precedes it, and I'm certain many of you are familiar with our work.
You will be divided into battalions, each assigned to one of three groundbreaking Braytech projects. The first project involves testing the capabilities of the Warmind Rasputin, delving into its weapon systems, and pushing the limits of its computational capacity. The second project focuses on SIVA, where you will experiment with weapons, armaments, and various functional applications. Lastly, the Exo project aims to revolutionize human existence by transferring consciousness to robotic bodies, paving the way for enhanced performance and longevity.
In the hangar, you'll find three ships awaiting deployment – one destined for Europa, another for Mars, and the last for the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. I extend my best wishes to each of you as you embark on these groundbreaking endeavors. Over to you, Colonel."
Just as his pompous ass stopped talking, the Colonel walked back to the podium. “Each of you will meet with your respective Lieutenant Colonels at your designated ship. May the light provide soldiers.”
Following his brief remarks, we all followed out of the room and into the hangar. These ships, they were massive. They could have easily fit thousands of people. I was a bit embarrassed to admit that this would be my first time off planet. There had to be so much left to discover, maybe joining the army wasn't so bad of a deal after all?
The engines of the ships roared to life. The ship destined for Kazakhstan left first, quickly followed by the ship leaving for Mars. Our ship was delayed though due to us taking ‘special cargo’. I later found out that this so-called ‘special cargo’ was none other than Clovis Bray himself.
I never took Clovis to be the cold type, I mean, from what I heard about him it seemed his love child was on Mars with that Warmind thing. Frankly, if you ask me, it just sounds like he wants someone to talk to who's programmed to agree with him but I digress.
On our trip to Europa, I'm kinda sad that we didn't see the moon. It was always present in the night sky, kinda wanted to see what the hype was about. However, when we got near Jupiter, it was so worth it. Jupiter was a level of massive I had never seen before. When we landed on Europa it was so large, Jupiter enveloped the entirety of the sky, it made me feel so…. Small.
As soon as the doors opened it was cold, really cold. Luckily the entrance was only a few meters away. We were told that we would be working in the Exoscience facility, but the place we would be living in is a fairly small city called Eventide. The city itself only had about 40,000 people, but damn was it beautiful. Due to us essentially being employees of Braytech, we got to see the beautiful white ice of Europa that spanned as far as the eye could see.
We each received dates for our transfer from our human bodies to our exo ones. Mine was in two weeks. In the meantime, we were given time to relax and enjoy the amenities provided by Braytech.
Their spas were downright heavenly, and their saunas too. For a city on an ice planet, there was no shortage of extremely warm activities. Those two weeks were the best of my life. But I knew that my time was quickly ticking.
They never really told us what would happen after our transfers. There is much speculation among those who haven't gone in yet. We have not seen anyone who already did the transfer, and it's kinda scary. I have no clue what's waiting for me on the other side. But now, I've come too far to turn back.
The day finally came. Two Braytech researchers and the Lieutenant Colonel came to my room.
Holding a datapad, the Lt. Colonel ordered “Ms. Valkyrie, you are ordered to go to the Creation wing of the Braytech Exoscience immediately for your transfer into an exo unit. Do you understand your orders?”
I sheepishly replied “Yes sir”
He continued “If you wish to opt out, now is the time. You will be discharged and returned to Earth. Will you continue?”
“Yes sir”
“Good, you are expected to be there within 10 minutes, best you get moving” he finished.
“Yes sir”
With that, I ran to the metro to get to the lab as soon as possible. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. The doubt weighed on me like a ton of bricks. Would I even feel like a person after this? I was too far along to turn back now, and at this point, I’d probably be arrested if I disobeyed the order.
The metro stopped at the Exoscience facility and I got off. I went up to the office where I was supposed to go. I knocked on the door and it automatically opened. Standing there was Clovis Bray I and two Exos, I didn't recognize either of them. The guy was blue, with the most amazing blue eyes I had ever seen. The girl was covered in white, with matching white eyes. My lookover of them was cut short though when Clovis piped up.
“I hope you have enjoyed your stay at Eventide Ms. Valkyrie,” he said clearly trying to feign diplomacy.
"Yes, it has been very relaxing," I said with a forced smile.
“Good, good, now, if you’ll follow me, we have an Exo to make.”
The one exo realizing it was his time to leave said “Uhh, I’ll just get going” before stumbling out the door. As he left the room, a door opened up to an elevator. The three of us walked in it before it swiftly began to descend. The walls of the elevator were clear so you could see all the brilliant colors of the insides of Europa. The ice walls were penetrated by flares of red, pink, and purple.
After about two minutes of descent, it came to a slow stop. The doors opened revealing a massive subterranean complex. I was awestruck. So many moving machines, so many scientists, so many Exos, it was all just overwhelming. But of course, Clovis had to ruin the moment by starting to talk.
“So,” he said, “This is the Deep Stone Crypt”.
“The what?” I responded.
“The Deep Stone Crypt is where we make our Exos, and this is where you will be reborn. All you need to do is customize your new body”
Customization? Maybe this won't be as bad after all. He handed me a datapad and I began selecting the options. First was the base color, they had everything imaginable. The goth phase that I started in high school still had a stranglehold on me though, so I, of course, went with black. Next, we got to choose the eye color, just like the base color, there were so many options. I was in between red, blue, and green, but I eventually went with green, there was just something about it that spoke to me. We also got to choose any extras, I chose to have my unit number, which at the time was 1, and two antennae on the sides of my head. After this, the customization was done and I got a preview of it. It was perfect.
“All done” Clovis interrupted.
“Yeah”
“Now, I just need you to lay in this pod, it will put you under heavy anesthetics while the transfer occurs, this is the last time you will be in this body. Once you wake up, I will have my granddaughter here, tell you your assignment.”
I got in the bed, the capsule closed around me. In the few seconds after the pod closed, I saw a weird white fluid pouring through tubes into the pod, but I didn't see what it was being used for as the pod filled with gas and everything went dark.
