Twisted Metal PS5 No More
youtube
Twisted Metal hasn't been seen on PlayStation since 2012. There was a reboot in development (one that had basically had its own development hell) that was recently canceled.

Sony's Firesprite Conundrum: A Lesson in Corporate Integration and Workplace Culture
The recent turmoil within Firesprite, marked by high-profile departures and unsettling accusations of a toxic workplace culture, is a stark reminder of the delicate balance required in such corporate acquisitions. The Liverpool-based studio, known for its ambitious PlayStation VR2 title Horizon Call of the Mountain, has found itself in the throes of what some describe as "death by a thousand cuts," following Sony's acquisition in 2021.

5 Lesser Known Dragon Age Species (that are intelligent)
Honorable mention, Mabari hounds. Yes, the doggos you probably named Spaghetti in the first game have human to near human level intelligence, being specifically bred by Tevinter mages.
Even more intelligent than the Mabari are the Halla stag, the first of which was the elven god Ghilan'nain, who is likely one of the big bads of Veilguard. It's my pet theory, because the world of Thedas is a crapsack world indeed, that the original halla were transformed elf slaves, and the Tevinter magisters later copied this, creating the first Mabari from their own slaves.
The Fex
This species is actually apocryphal, only being mentioned once by David Gaider, the creator and original lead writer of Dragon Age, in an interview:
Question: Are there more sentient races in the Dragon Age universe than the ones we know about?
Answer: Uh yes! Yes, there are. For instance, there is a race that was native to Par Vollen when the Qunari arrived that we have not shown yet. They're called the Fex, F-E-X, and uh, you don't see them outside of Par Vollen very much. But yeah, there definitely are, and maybe there's even some beyond Thedas [mischievous look]!
The Scaled Ones
Because the dwarves can never catch a break, the Scaled Ones warred with them back in ancient times long before the creation of Darkspawn. As reavers and dragon cultists have been known to grow scales from drinking too much dragon blood, I'm going with these guys are to the Old Gods what the dwarves are to the Titans. Maybe if the Scaled Ones had survived longer, the Blights wouldn't have happened as soon as they did or even at all...
Executors
So you know that Thedas is just a continent, right? That the Kossith (who became the Qunari) and humans came from elsewhere. Well, these guys did too... Although so far they've been content just watching us while inside our closet dressed like Superman. Oh, and if you haven't read Tevinter Nights yet, go do that right now.
Ghast
The goblins of Thedas, these fuckers make adorable little noises that sounds like Roaring 20's gangsters. Could just be me. Regardless they are capable of using tools and magic and live in groups of one hundred or more underground, because Thedas is like a mullet, business up top, party in the back.
Firesprites
Yes, Thedas has cute lil' pixies. Well, maybe not for long, since only a single colony of them existed by the Fifth Blight. And they're from the Korcari Wilds, so it's possible they're extinct now, or just as forgotten as the Fex, since they're from the Tabletop RPG (which was great btw).
So why should Firesprites be preserved and added to the endangered species list?
1. They fly (always)
2. They sing (to communicate)
3. They eat (poop)
And there you have it

(Edited: I realized that I made some sweeping, rework-like changes and that I wanted to move those to a different post.)
Proposed Hunter Changes - The following is my own personal opinion on what could be changed for Hunters in the game of Destiny.
In this, I will be detailing the changes that I believe should be applied to the Hunter Subclasses. I will go over the universal class abilities first, then go over the subclasses one by one.
Hunter - The marksman in the shadows, the blur of a blade striking from behind, the cunning lone wolf who always lands their shot. Hunters are the explorers, the scavengers, and the assassins of Guardians.
Universal Class Abilities)
Gambler's Dodge: Perform a quick maneuver along the ground, which starts health regeneration for you and nearby allies, but decreases your resilience for a short time.
Marksman's Dodge: Perform a quick maneuver along the ground, which reloads the held weapons for you and all nearby allies.
Gunslinger) Striking with weapons shrouded in flames, or with bullets which shine as bright as the sun, Gunslingers are the ultimate marksmen. ”A lone wolf who lives for the perfect shot.
Additional Class Ability
Acrobat’s Dodge -> Radiant Leap: Perform a leap through the air, slamming a knife into the ground to produce a pulse of Solar energy that makes you and nearby allies Radiant.
Melees)
Proximity Explosive Knife: Throw a knife that attaches to surfaces and detonates when a combatant is near. Enemies damaged become Scorched. Two charges.
Weighted Throwing Knife: Throw a heavy knife after a short wind up, which deals extra precision damage. Precision final blows causes an Ignition and fully charges your class ability energy.
Knife Trick - Burning Blades: Quickly throw out three burning blades that cause combatants to become Scorched, which deal increased damage to already Scorched combatants. You have two charges
Throwing Knife: Quickly throw a knife at combatants. Precision hits and final blows grant you and nearby allies Cure x2. You have three charges
Aspects)
On Your Mark -> Deadeye: While using a Solar weapon; landing rapid precision hits makes you and nearby allies Radiant, while also increasing weapon reload speed, movement speed, and handling. Landing a Solar weapon or ability precision final blow while Radiant extends the duration of Radiant and grants additional super energy.
Knock ‘Em Down -> Gunfighter: While Radiant, your Solar weapons deal increased precision damage and landing rapid precision hits with a Solar weapon Scorches the combatant and creates a Firesprite.
Gunpowder Gamble: Defeating combatants with Solar abilities, or rapidly defeating combatants with Solar weapons builds a charge toward a super powered grenade. - When your Gunpowder Gamble is ready, it overrides your selected grenade ability. Activating your grenade ability instead throws an unstable, highly explosive device that sticks to combatants and surfaces, which causes an Ignition shortly after, or when shot. - Defeating a combatant with Gunpowder Gamble grants you and nearby allies Restoration.
Supers)
Blade Barrage: Vault into the air to throw out up to 3 volleys of 8 explosive Solar blades that burrow into surfaces before detonating. Defeating combatants trigger an Ignition.
Golden Gun - Deadshot -> Blazing Bullets: Summon a handcannon of pure Solar energy with 6 shots in the magazine. Landing a hit Scorches combatants. Landing a final blow refunds a round to the magazine. Landing multiple final blows triggers an Ignition and fully refills the magazine.
Golden Gun: Summon a handcannon made of pure Solar energy, with 3 shots in the magazine. Landing a precision hit Scorches the target, and increases the precision damage of the next shot by 25%, while producing an Orb of Power. Landing 3 precision shots refunds a round to the magazine. (Increased base damage by 25%)
Arcstrider) Striking with the speed of lightning, moving fluidly and quickly, Arcstriders leave a battlefield scarred by lightning. ”Flow like lightning, strike like thunder.”
Additional Movement Ability)
Blink: While airborne, teleport a short distance through a concentration of Arc energy. You can do this up to two times every 2 seconds.
Melees)
Combination Blow: Perform a quick strike with your Arc staff. Landing a successful hit increases the damage of the next hit. Landing three consecutive hits on one target Jolts them. You have three charges.
Disorienting Blow -> Blinding Strike: Infuse your blade with Arc energy to throw from a distance, Blinding the combatant. Two charges.
Aspects)
Flow State - Closed Circuit: Defeating Arc debuffed combatants makes you Amplified. While you are Amplified, you are harder to hit while you are dodging or have Speed Booster, and rapid Arc weapon precision hits Blind the target.
Lethal Current: Activating your class ability increases your ability damage for a short time. While Lethal Current is active, defeating combatants with Arc abilities makes nearby combatants Jolted. Defeating a Jolted combatant grants some health.
Tempest Strike: While you have full Class Ability energy and sliding, activate your Class Ability to consume half of it and propel yourself into the air with a blast of Blinding Arc energy, making yourself and allies Amplified. While airborne, activate your Class Ability to consume half of it and quickly fall to the ground, generating 5 Jolting lightning strikes as you land. - Defeating Arc debuffed combatants grants class ability energy.
Ascension -> Bladedancer: Defeating combatants with Arc abilities while you are Amplified grants you Speed Booster and increases your Arc melee ability's damage by 20%.
Supers)
Arcstaff: Summon a staff of Arc energy to attack your foes. - Attack with wide sweeps (Light Attack) that you can combo together, increasing the damage of your next consecutive hit. Landing consecutive hits Jolts combatants. - Perform a palm strike, or a slam attack (Heavy Attack) that deals increased damage, and Blinds combatants.
Gathering Storm: Summon a Staff of Arc energy, vault into the air and throw it in a given direction. The staff burrows into combatants or surfaces upon impact, releasing a pulse of Blinding energy. After a short time, A bolt of lightning strikes the staff, damaging and Jolting nearby combatants, while causing the staff to emit a damaging field of Arc energy.
Storm’s Edge: Summon a blade of Arc energy to throw from a distance. Upon contact, teleport to the blade’s location, performing a powerful, wide spin attack that Jolts combatants. This can be used up to three times. (Increased distance which is can be thrown, and increased damage.)
Nightstalker) Moving and striking from the shadows, Nightstalkers are the enemy you never see coming. Nightstalkers take on a more team oriented role, but are just as lethal on their own. ”Draw from the Void. Light the way.”
Melees)
Snare Bomb: Throw a small explosive that attaches to surfaces and combatants, detonating when enemies are close. Upon detonation, a smoke cloud is created, which Weakens and continuously damages enemies inside, escalating the longer they are inside the cloud. Snare Bomb pings the radar of opposing Guardians. Two charges.
Aspects)
Stylish Executioner -> Abyssal Executioner: Defeating a Void debuffed combatant makes you Invisible and grants a short period of Truesight. While invisible, your next Void precision hit deals massively increased damage and Weakens the target.
Trapper’s Ambush: While airborne, activate your class ability to dive to the ground, triggering your selected class ability effects and creating a large cloud of Void smoke that makes you and nearby allies Invisible, creating a Void trap where you landed. When enemies enter the field of the trap, it triggers, stabbing them with Void spikes. - Snare Bomb makes you and allies Invisible.
Vanishing Step: Activating your class ability makes you Invisible. While Invisible, you have increased mobility and an enhanced radar.
Supers)
Shadowshot - Deadfall/Moebius Quiver -> Shadowshot : Summon a bow of Void energy to shoot up to three Void arrows at combatants. These arrows create pockets of Void energy that create tendrils that latch onto nearby combatants. Combatants anchored by these tendrils are Weakened and Suppressed, while also sharing damage dealt.
Spectral Blades: Shroud yourself in shadows, striking with blades from the Void, making yourself Invisible and granting yourself truesight while Invisible. - Throw out blades from a distance to Weaken combatants - Perform an acrobatic leap to throw out a fan of 5 Void blades, which make enemies Volatile and makes you Invisible once more.
Revenant) The hiss of a ice blade cutting through the air, and the crack of shattering ice leaving enemies frozen in place. Revenant Hunters shroud their enemies in ice, reveling in the fear in their eyes as they shatter to pieces. "From a whisper to a roar, be the calm and the storm."
Melees)
Withering Blade: Throw out a shuriken of Stasis matter which causes combatants to become Slowed and bounces off surfaces and combatants. You have two charges.
Aspects)
Touch of Winter -> Fractal Visage: Defeating Frozen combatants causes a burst of Slow around them. - While you have Frost Armor, your Stasis weapon precision hits Slow combatants.
Grim Harvest: Defeating combatants with Stasis abilities creates a Stasis Shard, which grants you one stack of Frost Armor upon collection. Defeating Slowed or Frozen targets grants some health.
Shatter Dive: Activate your class ability while airborne to Freeze combatants below you while diving to the ground, triggering your selected class ability effects and producing Shattering winds that destroy Frozen combatants and Stasis Crystals as you land. - Shattering Stasis Crystals or Frozen combatants grants class ability energy.
Winter’s Shroud: Activating your class ability causes nearby combatants to become Slowed, and grants you one stack of Frost Armor. - Precision hits with Stasis weapons on a Slowed combatant causes nearby combatants to become Slowed.
Supers)
Silence and Squall: Summon two kamas of Stasis matter and vault into the air, throwing them in quick succession. Silence - Upon Impact, it releases a pulse of energy that damages and Freezes combatants. Squall - Upon impact it detonates, damaging and Shattering nearby combatants; then generates a whirling storm of Stasis matter that draws combatants near and inside it to the center, while continuously applying Slow and Shatter damage.
Threadrunner: Hurtling through the air, cords of Strand striking with blurring speed. Threadrunners rarely stay in one place, proving to be challenging against their opponents. "The plucked string, the sharpest song. Freedom, infinitely promised."
Melees)
Threaded Spike: Throw a dart of Strand matter that bounces off surfaces and combatants, causing enemies damaged to become Severed.
Aspects)
Ensnaring Slam -> Lacerating Weave: Activating your class ability damages and Unravels nearby combatants. Defeating Unraveled enemies with Strand damage grants you Unraveling Rounds.
Threaded Specter: Activating your class ability weaves a clone of yourself from Strand matter that draws the attention of combatants. This clone can be damaged, and detonates when destroyed; Suspending affected combatants.
Whirling Maelstrom: Destroying a Tangle re-weaves it into a violently spinning, tracking, short lived mass of Strand matter that damages and Unravels combatants. Defeating Unraveled combatants grants Woven Mail.
Widow’s Silk: Your Grapple creates a Woven platform from Strand matter which you and allies can traverse. - You gain an additional grenade charge, and defeating Severed combatants grants grenade energy.
Supers)
and matter to attack your foes. - Activating your Grapple ability does not consume Grenade energy. - Fling out the dart to attack a single foe, dealing increased damage the further you are from the target, Severing them as you do so. - Perform a leap, spinning the dart around as you do so to attack surrounding combatants, causing them to become Unraveled. - Activating your movement mode generates a small Strand platform.
Prismatic Hunter -> Survivor:

Gunpowder Gamble: Defeating combatants with abilities, or rapidly defeating combatants with elemental weapons matching your equipped grenade builds a charge toward a super powered grenade. - When your Gunpowder Gamble is ready, it overrides your selected grenade ability. Activating your grenade ability instead throws an unstable, highly explosive device that sticks to combatants and surfaces, which causes an Ignition shortly after, or when shot.
Lacerating Weave: Activating your class ability damages and Unravels nearby combatants. Defeating combatants with elemental weapons matching your equipped Super grants your Strand weapons Unraveling rounds

👻 ghost: can you tease some wip ideas that have been haunting you/something you want to write in the future?
This piece's working title is "the firesprite dancer", and has been haunting me for years. It is a magical realism write, but it never feels right with emotions I'm trying to convey. I haven't been able to capture that emotion of wonder yet. I'm getting closer, but I'm not there yet. I want capture the experience of when you see something so beautiful and otherworldly that it has to change something in you because you know you will never see it again, but you never talk about it because it is that special.
The piece is inspired this post by @cinnamon-suncat which still amazes me to this day.
Thank you @upatreewithoutaharness for this ask! Explaining this idea had motivated me to consider writing it again.

-*New Boss:* Gluttonous Yumkasaur Moutain King. Looks like there will be a tool mechanic that allows you to drop food and distract the boss so you can attack. Honestly kind of an adorable boss
-*New Boss"* Goldflame Quecusaur Tyrant ah yes because why wouldn't it look like a Wyvern, he does change to a smaller form to do a flying attack where he launches missiles? quills? i dunno but they look like they hurt
-*Reputation System for Natlan* So in each tribe you'll visit their "Obsidian Totem Pole" this will allow you to access and unlock "Trible Chronicles" which will include each Tribe's legends, local customs, as well as, the Natlan Characters' story quests, and some world quests

-There's a new "Quick Start" Feature for archon quests, but you need to have the Liyue archon quests done and be AR28

-Tired of not getting the artifacts that you want? "Sanctifying Elixir" is here to solve your problems. With this bad boi you can exchange it for artifacts with specific main affix and 2 minor affixes. You may be asking yourself how you get them, well worry not dears fo r you can get them after extracting a certain number of upgraded artifacts, exploring Natlan, and/or unlocking Gnostic Hymn and reaching specific lvl
-Battle Pass is being adjusted so you can choose 3 of four types of materials as rewards. Oop and wouldn't you know it, you can change the talent material you earn from it to be any nation's talent lvl up material
-Hey don't worry about trying to finish finding all the Anemoculos and Geoculous in order to get your stamina, you can now boost your stamina limit by offering to any of the statues.
-I honestly have no idea if I read this right but between the natlan statues, the shrines, and the reward thingy that Natlan will have that is similar to the fountain of Lucine in Fontain, it should all add up to a 10 pull of wishes
-Imagine with me if you will for a second. You're on the character banner and your 50/50 arrives, scary as always, but then you see it "Capturing Radiance" it doesn't matter if you're clicking through your 10 wishes and Qiqi shows up as the second thing you got because you now know that you have for sure pulled the promotional 5-star. A chance encounter but encounter it you did
-FINALLY FINALLY that 50/50 gotta lose it twice to get the weapon BS is OVER. It's like the character banners where you lose your 50/50 then garunteed that next 5 star
-Every anniversary you will unlock a wish system to get any 5 star from "wanderlust Invocation" for Free. For freeeeee? yes for freeeeee.
-*Imaginarium Theatre news* will now offer strategies based off the current season's three-element reaction system. They're trying to make it a little less troublesome for players but still leaving room for challenge by adding a visionary mode.
- looks like we get new character, monster, and action cards for TCG
-a collaboration between Genshin and Logitech (merch may be a thing that's also being release with that??)
-I actually took time to listen to the music section. The Natlan symphony? glorious, I need to listen to these more often. please if you go watch any of this stream watch that part, 10/10 would reccomend
-That was.. a lot but hearing Zach saying to prove that he voice's Aether to people that he just screams windblade at people makes up for all of it.

GAMES OF 2023 For most of 2023, similarly to the previous year, the video game industry seemed to be more defined by its controversies than its entertainment purposes. From the SAG-AFTRA union actors authorizing various strikes against the industry's largest companies to receive better pay for their contributions, Microsoft finally purchasing Activision Blizzard King for $69 billion, to even more than 6,000 game developers losing their jobs amid a massive wave of layoffs. It’s been hard to put a positive spin on the people who are actually responsible for making the games that have brought us hours upon hours of entertaining characters, worlds and experiencesIn saying that, 2023 has been a standout year for games. With how great the previous year for gaming was, it's insane that 2023 might just be the medium's best year of all time. Not a single month has passed us by without an experience that was truly worth our collective time and attention, regardless of any genre preferences or platform allegiances. Even with what is happening, the Nostalgia Roadtrip Network is dedicated to bringing you the best that we can do to bring a smile to your face by spotlighting these talented artist, composers, and musicians that have elevated our gaming experiences since we first learned to pick up a controller, hit a button on a keyboard or swiped across our phones. This is why THIS STAGE of the Retro VGM Revival Hour is dedicated to the music from the various games of 2023….We’ve selected 3 tracks from each game to make your listening experience all the more amazing, so Let’s get started!!!!

Official Categorization of Playstation Studios by Sony [Infographic]
Official Categorization of Playstation Studios by Sony [Infographic] How do you feel about this categorization that Sony has done. I'm a bit relieved about Bend Studio falling under Evolving/Multi-Gere but also worried why it's not under Single-Player games. Days Gone was a single player game and if Sony has pushed Bend to make a multi-player title then another disappointing game (sales wise) may end up killing this studio.Glad to see that Firesprite and Housemarque are focusing on single-player games. What are your thoughts on this?https://ift.tt/Ol1Gp7o Submitted June 03, 2024 at 06:23AM by blinkyretard https://ift.tt/KaMdnQs via /r/gaming
