Fireside by Kettle Launches New Fiery Menu
Our favorite Buttermilk Fried Chicken is getting a fiery upgrade as Fireside by Kettle introduces its delicious new menu. The Hungry Kat was invited last week to sample these new comfort food items and it turned out to be a festive afternoon as they also introduced their new Wine-All-You-Can promotion where you can savour 11 different wines from 7 countries.
Fireside by Kettle can be found on the ground floor of Central Square at Bonifacio High Street Central, just beside Shake Shack. Fireside is the more casual and laid back little brother of Kettle which first made its name at Shangri-La Plaza Mall and has also since expanded to other locations.
The restaurant has a spacious and casual setup with its high ceiling plus a colorful and refreshing overall vibe. Fireside Executive Chef Chiloy Santos continues to showcase his brand of comfort food on this side of town and now brings even more tempting options to the table.
I was seated next to my friend Beatriz Acosta of ClickTheCity.com and it was fun catching up with her after a busy start to the year. Fireside’s new menu items are great for sharing with big groups and friends so these were the perfect backdrop for this afternoon’s get-together with our KTG blogger friends.
We started with some new appetizers like the Meat & Cheese Board (P575) which comes with chorizo, salami, house made honey ricotta, brie, manchego, cranberries, and baguette chips. The Roasted Corn Chowder (P165) is a rich and creamy corn soup served on a bread bowl, while the Wild Mushroom & Quinoa Salad (P499) has sautéed assorted mushrooms, quinoa, red rice, and grilled chicken topped with roasted garlic balsamic dressing.
Fireside’s most popular dish is the buttermilk fried chicken fingers, 24-hour brined chicken fillets deep fried with Cajun Ritz breading. The Red Hot Chili Chicken Fingers (P615) is the same fried chicken fingers topped with a spicy buttermilk hot and sweet sauce. This is then served with cornbread doughnuts plus Cajun honey and gravy.
They are not kidding because these red hot chili chicken fingers are really spicy! I may not be a big spicy food lover but I still found myself enjoying these juicy and crunchy bite-sized fingers. You can also add a dose of honey to ease the heat and balance the flavors.
They also have the Chicken BLT (P419) with its grilled chicken breast and bacon steak in between grilled sandwich breads. This is served with a side of potato chips.
Pizza lovers will definitely like the Sausage & Mushroom Pizza (P519). This is topped with smoked cheese sausage, a trio of mushrooms, bell perppers, onions, mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
The BBQ Pork Sisig (P185) is a savoury dish made with sautéed barbecue pork chunks, jalapeno peppers, red peppers, onions, and green onion couli. This would go so well with rice so don’t hesitate to order some for yourselves.
One very indulgent dish we tried was the Shrimp & Crab Fat Pasta (P625). This has spaghetti cooked in aligue or crab fat with sauteed crab, shrimps, and chili garlic. I felt a little guilty eating it but it was so good. This one is highly recommended.
Other new comfort food dishes everyone will enjoy include the Country Fried Steak (P499). This has Cajun-breaded U.S. beef sirloin steak doused with country chorizo gravy and served with mashed potatoes and grilled corn.
You can also go for the Grilled Pork Belly (P419) with is a great lunch option. This savoury set is served with tomato slush and herbed rice.
But if you are with a big group, better order the Grilled Chicken Whole (P1125) which is meant to be shared with the entire table. It is cooked with lime and chili garlic then also served with tomato slush and herb rice. You will probably have to order another set of rice to satisfy everyone.
The highlight of Fireside’s new menu would definitely be the Boneless U.S. Prime Ribeye (P2,039 - 350g). This sizzling and sumptuous ribeye steak is served with fried onion strips and garlic rice. The beef is cooked medium and each slice is absolutely delicious.
What goes well with all those meaty dishes? Fireside by Kettle also launched a new unlimited wine promotion called Wines Around the World. Why stop at just one glass when you can go unlimited? You can enjoy 11 different wines from 7 countries around the world for only P799 per person. Then if you are able to finish a glass of wine from all 7 countries, you even get a free souvenir from Fireside.
The best thing about this promotion is that you can avail it any time of the day for maximum of four hours. That means happy hour can start as early as 12:00nn or even at 8:00pm if you like. This promotion will last until March 31, 2020 only.
For dessert, we had a taste of their Chocolate Caramel Cake (P245) with its luscious and creamy chocolate flavors. On the other hand, the Homemade Smores (P215) is not a new item but it is still always a favorite.
We all finished the afternoon with very heavy but happy tummies. Call your friends and make sure to visit Fireside by Kettle at Bonifacio Global City so you can try these tasty new dishes for yourselves.

Fireside by Kettle Opens at Bonifacio High Street Central Square
With the growing number of restaurants opening and closing in the metro, you can only spot a few that would stand the test of time. While new restaurants may be popular during its first few months, most of them do not even last more than a year before their dwindling customer base forces them to close shop. Fireside by Kettle is definitely not one of those brands as they have just opened their third branch in three years, a slow but sure expansion plan that have diners coming back for more of their wood fire-grilled comfort food and other specialties.
The new branch of Fireside by Kettle can be found on the ground floor of Central Square at Bonifacio High Street Central, just below the shopping mall that houses the Bonifacio High Street cinemas. Fireside is the more casual and laid back little brother of Kettle which first made its name at Shangri-la Plaza Mall and has also since expanded to other branches. The Hungry Kat was invited a few weeks ago to check out their sparkling new branch for an afternoon of exciting comfort food and overflowing beverages and cocktails.
The Central Square outlet has a spacious setup compared to their branch in SM Megamall with its high ceiling plus a colorful and refreshing overall vibe. The overall seating capacity may not be that big, so expect to see big crowds and wait a few minutes to be seated during peak dining hours.
The restaurant actually has two entrances, one facing Bonifacio High Street Central, and the other one inside the Central Square mall.
It was a busy weekday afternoon but the place was packed with hungry diners eager for another taste of Fireside’s specialties. I was with my fellow food bloggers from The KTG including Mr. Jeng of Food in the Bag.
The Executive Chef of Fireside by Kettle is Chef Chiloy Santos who has continued to impress foodies with his simple but extremely satisfying selection at both Fireside and Kettle. Most of the items on the menu remain the same but it is always such a treat whenever I dine at his restaurants.
Start with their refreshing beverage selection including the Banana Shake (P179) and the Mixed Berries Shake (P219) which are perfect for this hot summer weather.
Those who are living or working near Bonifacio Global City should be happy to see these tall carafes of Red and White Sangria (P829) to soothe themselves after a tiring work day. These glasses have a combination of apples, orange, lemon cointreau, cinnamon plus either Merlot or Chardonnay. Even better, the Sangria carafes are 50% off during Happy Hour from 3pm-6pm and 9pm-10pm on Mondays to Fridays.
There are many other energetic cocktails on the menu like the Wild Berry Smash (P349) with Bombay sapphire gin, mixed berries, basil, lemon tonic. A surprising discovery was the Tamarind Margarita (P269) with Jose Cuervo Gold, lime, and tamarind puree which gives it a unique Filipino twist. Other cocktails include the Honey Old Fashioned (P299) with Bourbon, spiced honey and bitters while the Mango Mojito (P229) has Bacardi Gold, mango liqueur, mint, lemon and mango cubes. These cocktails also have a 50% discount during Happy Hour from Mondays to Thursdays. Isn’t that great?
To whet our appetites while waiting for the main dishes, we snacked on their Truffled Potato Chips (P259) which are hand cut potato chips with green onions doused in truffle blue cheese sauce. I loved this so much that Mr. Jeng and I didn’t even notice we already finished an entire plate by ourselves.
The Mascarpone Cheesecake (P359) is also another good appetizer at Fireside with its sweet and savory cheesecake dip and sweet tomato jam at the bottom, served with arugula and croutons. That’s one alternative way of eating cheesecake.
Those who like raw salmon will enjoy the Salmon Gravlax Tartare (P369). These are herb and citrus marinated Norwegian salmon with cilantro and peppercoulis that you can put on top of your baguette chips.
For something savory, try the Chorizo Meatballs (P279) which are bite-sized homemade chorizo balls cooked in rich tomato barbecue sauce and cheddar cheese. The chorizo gives it a more pronounced flavor compared to your regular meatball.
But one of my favorite items that afternoon is the Brisket Sisig (P299), Fireside’s version of the classic Filipino bar chow. Instead of pork, this sisig comes with sauteed US Angus brisket chunks, onions, jalapeños, red pepper and green onion coulis. It’s so good that we had to order a plate of extra Garlic Rice (P79) to go with it because it was so rich and flavorful. Try it with some beers and cocktails or as an entire meal by itself.
Another popular item at Fireside is their Sweet, Spicy and Salty Wings (P509-5pcs / P309-3pcs). These sweet Asian style chicken wings are similar to those at Korean restaurants but I actually like these more because they have just a mild spiciness that I can handle. They are also served with sweet potato hay.
The 50/50 Meatloaf (P409) is a unique creation at Fireside and is definitely not your ordinary meatloaf. It consists of 50% ground bacon and 50% ground Angus beef then is served with barbeque sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. The result is a juicier and tastier meatloaf.
For seafood lovers, you can order the Herb Crusted Salmon (P529) placed on a bed of fried red rice with roasted tomato and pepper sauce. The tender salmon is a delight to have.
The dish that make Kettle a household name is their buttermilk fried chicken so Fireside has its own kid brother version - the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers (P549). These are 24-hour brined chicken fillets deep fried with Cajun Ritz breading and served with cornbread doughnuts plus Cajun honey and gravy. The chicken fingers are juicy and crunchy, exactly what comfort food is all about.
We also feasted on their oven roasted Australian Lamb Ribs (P749), served with potato wedges and mint gravy. The lamb does not taste gamey at all and this is one of those few lamb dishes that I really enjoy.
For desserts, diners can just take a look at the display counter and choose what types of cakes they like. The Chocolate Honey Comb Mousse Cake (P369) and the Coconut Checkered Cake (P339) are some of the favorites here.
Or you can order the gooey Homemade Smores (P189) to put on top of your graham crackers. They also have the Fireside Homemade Doughnuts (P239) which are served with three different sauces that include salted caramel, chocolate, and raspberry sauce.
Fireside by Kettle is a restaurant that you can visit with your friends any day of the week. Their menu is always a guarantee that everyone will have a great and enjoyable time, whether it be lunch, dinner, or happy hour. Visit their three branches at SM Megamall, Rockwell, and now Bonifacio High Street for a dose of urban comfort food.

Fireside Launches New Family Trays To Go
While most restaurants have started opening their dine-in services, not everyone is safe to go outside their homes yet, especially for kids and seniors who have not been vaccinated. So to make family time even more memorable at home, Fireside by Kettle has just launched its new Fireside Trays To Go which is perfect for the entire family.
These convenient family trays come with a combination of Fireside’s bestselling items. My last visit to Fireside BGC was just a few weeks before the global pandemic started last year (Read: Fireside by Kettle Launches New Fiery Menu) so I was really excited to have a taste of their signature buttermilk fried chicken fingers once again. They have four different family trays to choose from, all of them offering a smorgasbord of comfort food items which Fireside is truly known for.
We checked in for a weekend staycation in BGC last week so I decided to get one of their family trays which we picked up at their branch in Central Square. We chose Fireside Trays To Go 1 (P1395) and this came with Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers, Apricot Chipotle Glazed Ribs, Potato Salad, and Steamed Rice. Each tray is good for up to 4 persons, so that’s probably just right for the two of us!
Fireside’s most popular dish is the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers. These 24-hour brined chicken fillets are deep fried to perfection with Cajun Ritz breading. The tender and juicy meat goes so well with its crunchy coating which you can also dip in gravy. This is really the definition of comfort food.
The buttermilk chicken is served with cornbread doughnuts together with Cajun honey. This sweet and savory combination is really one enjoyable treat that the entire family will love.
One other highlight of the set is the Apricot Chipotle Glazed Ribs. These meaty ribs are delicately glazed with a sweet and smoky sauce that will make you start eating them with your bare hands because they are so finger-lickin good!
To complete this indulgent set, a serving of Potato Salad is also provided as a side dish. The tray also comes with steamed rice and generous amounts of sauces and gravy.
You can also choose some of the other options like Fireside Trays To Go 2 (P1,395) which comes with Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers, Cornbread Douhgnuts, 50/50 Meatloaf, Garlic Mashed Potato, and Macaroni Salad. On the other hand, Fireside Trays To Go 3 (P1,195) has Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers, Cornbread Doughnuts, Macaroni Salad, Garlic Mashed Potato, and Herb Rice.
Lastly, Fireside Trays To Go 4 (P1,495) features a combination of Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers, Cornbread Doughnuts, Spaghetti Meatballs, and a whole Pizza (any flavor). These family trays are just what you need to brighten up the dinner table. Call them for your pickup or delivery orders and enjoy these treats at the comfort of your homes.
