A very rough animation wip for someone. If you can guess who, then you get a cookie.

it was really easy, actually!

i drew all the main things i wanted at different blurriness on different layers, and used the gaussian blur filter on different intensities on each of them, except the main layer, which was left untouched so that one cat would be in focus. in firelapaca it looks like this, and there’s probably similar filters in other programs.

i’ve done a similar things with other drawings, but it requires a bit of planning and i don’t always think about doing it right from the start like i did with this. if i had done it all on one layer and then decided to use this technique, it’d require using the select tool and carefully selecting areas to blur individually, which is super annoying.

Was a bit of a challenge to figure out where to dump the blotches of black and all that, but I think it looks okay? Either way I’m glad I discovered firelapaca’s line correction feature in time for this one! Woo!
