Land of Dreams // Stelle x March 7th (Stelle x Firefly, March x Robin)
Tumblr media
March gets jealous of Firefly. So she decides to make Stelle jealous, too.
Stelle x March 7th (Platonic Stelle/Firefly, March/Robin) Contents: Fluff, Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Love Confessions, Jealousy, Established Relationship
(AU just a happy day in penacony. noone dies cuz hoyo are mean)
-x-
March’s blood boiled. She had been wandering around the dreamscape of Penacony in search of her girlfriend: Stelle, only to discover that the Trailblazer had been hanging around some new girl she had recently met.
“...I wish you a great time in the dream, and I shall not interrupt your… date?” March had overheard some dark-haired woman say towards Stelle and her new ‘friend’.
“N-No, we’re not on a date!” the girl’s voice trembled. March scoffed. She waited for Stelle to say that they weren’t dating, or that she was in fact taken by the one and only March 7th. But no. Nothing.
March noticed the smug smile on Stelle’s face as she turned her head slightly.
The dark-haired woman laughed at the girl’s response.
March didn’t know whether or not to feel angry or sad or both. Most likely both. An even deeper feeling of betrayal sat disgustingly inside her.
Moments later, the group of people March had been spying on dispersed. Apart from Stelle and that girl…
“Come on, Firefly. It’s about time you show me around some more…” Stelle said, the smile on her face was soft. March seethed at the sight.
Firefly’s face was still red from what the woman had said earlier.
“Yep! Okay!” she said before grabbing Stelle’s hand and dragging her towards the nearby road in order to cross.
A sad frown appeared on March’s face.
-x-
March’s eyes snapped opened, forcing herself awake. She climbed out of the water and immediately became dry upon exiting the pool. A part of her regretted even falling asleep and going to the dream land of Penacony. Tears formed in her eyes as she replayed the memory in her head, the soft look on Stelle’s face whenever she would look at Firefly was engrained into her mind. Stelle hardly ever showed emotion, it was hard to get her to crack a smile… So how come this random girl could do it with ease?
A few hours later, she was greeted by Himeko and Welt in the hotel’s bar.
“Did you enjoy the dream, March?” Himeko asked.
March nodded, a fake smile plastered on her face, “Y-Yeah! I wish I could see the photos I took whilst I was there…”
Both Welt and Himeko excused themselves to go to the bar and grab some drinks.
March anxiously tapped her fingers on the table, her eyes darting towards a nearby staircase waiting for Stelle’s arrival.
As if on cue, the silver-haired woman made an appearance – a neutral look on her face. The normal look she usually has on her face…
Stelle took a seat next to March and kissed her on the cheek, “Have a nice dream, March?” she said.
March shrugged, “It was okay… Just did some sight seeing.”
Stelle rested her head on March’s shoulder and wrapped an arm around her waist. March could never resist Stelle’s touch, not even now despite being upset with her.
“Hmm… I bet you took lots of photos. We have to meet up in the dream so you can show me them… If they’ve saved, of course.”
March nodded before gulping harshly, “W-What about you? Do anything fun?”
Stelle waited for a moment before speaking, “Well I bet on some slot machines… Explored a little… Watched a sentient billboard get hit by a car…” Stelle laughed slightly at that.
March bit her lip to stop herself from accusing Stelle of anything, “Anything else? Meet any interesting people?”
“I chatted to the odd person here and there,” Stelle was too busy messing with a loose thread on March’s shirt, her other hand was still secured around her waist, “We should meet up next time. I missed you.”
Her heart ached. Both from the love she had for Stelle and from the betrayal she felt.
A shaky hand made its way onto Stelle’s thigh, “Okay.”
Stelle would be lying if she said she didn’t notice March’s off behaviour. She brushed it off and decided to just show her some love and comfort in hopes of getting her to open up.
“I can’t wait,” Stelle lifted her hand from March’s shirt to cup the shorter girl’s jaw and turn her head. She leaned in to place a soft kiss against her lips, causing the latter’s cheeks to turn just as pink as her hair. Stelle pulled back with a smirk.
God, that smirk. The butterflies in March’s stomach were out of control.
But the hollow bit behind those butterflies was filled with dread.
-x-
A couple dreams later and March finally got her chance. Her chance to make Stelle feel what she felt.
She had expressed her interest in Robin when they first arrived at the hotel a few days ago, so she would have to up her game to make Stelle think that she was actually in love with the singer.
Her eyes darted towards Stelle who was at a slot machine in the distance. She had been at it for almost an hour, saying ‘one more try’ at least ten times. The one and only Robin had made an appearance a few minutes ago, immediately locking eyes with March and offering a friendly wave.
March wasted no time in approaching her.
“Robin!”
“Hey, cutie. March, right?” she smiled.
Nodding, March smiled right back, “That’s the name.”
“What I can help you with, March?”
Ideas drifted within March’s head. She returned her gaze towards her girlfriend, and Robin looked over too.
“I miiight need your help with Stelle.”
“Your friend?” Robin wondered, “Did something happen?” worry was clearly in her voice.
March shook her head, “No! Well… Not really? I don’t know!”
A comforting hand landed on March’s shoulder, “What’s wrong?”
She bit her lip before sighing, “Is it bad that I really want to make Stelle jealous?”
“Oh?” a smile appeared on Robin’s face, “Why would you want to do that?”
“Because…! Because she made me jealous first!”
Robin couldn’t help but think March looked cute when she tried to be angry.
“Hmm… I don’t think it would be morally right of me but…”
“Please!” March pouted, “She’s been hanging around with some girl in here and she acts as if she isn’t!”
Robin’s hand on March’s shoulder moved up to underneath March’s chin. She was already beginning to play along but it caught March off guard, her breath hitching.
“Are you and Stelle…?”
“Together. Yes.”
Cocking her head, Robin questioned, “Then what’s the problem? You love her, she loves you, I assume.”
March’s face turned red, “I-I mean. Yes, of course! I think? We’ve never really told each other but…”
Robin took a quick glance towards Stelle, the latter visibly clutched the sides of the slot machine harshly, her eyes occasionally looked over towards Robin and March.
“Hmm... Well I can tell you she looks agitated right now,” she stepped slightly closer to March.
“I’m just angry that she’s dodged the question every time I’ve asked her about who she’s met in the dream land.”
“Have you ever considered that she perhaps doesn’t want to hurt your feelings by telling you that she’s been hanging out with another girl?”
March’s mind had been clouded with doubt for the past few days so she’d never explored any other options, “No…”
“Just a thought,” Robin added, “It may be that she has simply made a new friend… How long have you and Stelle been together?”
“A few months…” March’s voice was clearly sad now.
Robin pulled her into a hug, “You should talk it through. She must love you if she’s stayed with you.”
“You might be right,” March let out a defeated sigh as she returned the hug. A part of her completely forget her original mission of making Stelle jealous.
But she was quickly reminded when her raccoon of a girlfriend made an appearance.
“Hey, March! Hey, Robin!”
March quickly pulled away from Robin and made some distance. Stelle’s usual neutral look looked angrier than usual.
“H-Hey, Stelle! I was just catching up with Robin here!” March smiled.
“It’s good to see you, Trailblazer,” Robin nodded.
And then an unsettling silence engulfed the three. March looked down at the ground, already starting to feel guilty for what she had asked Robin to do.
Robin quickly excused herself, wanting to make March and Stelle talk about whatever they were feeling asap. March looked at her with a pleading look, Robin quickly made her escape before March could voice any protests.
The silence continued between the two girlfriends.
Stelle cleared her throat, “So… You seem close with Robin already.”
“Ah… Yeah. We were just chatting. She was giving me some advice on some stuff I’ve been having problems with.”
The jealousy within Stelle rose at that comment. Why couldn’t March confide in her instead?
Stelle sighed, “Look, March… I’ve noticed that you’ve been off for the past few days. You know you can always talk to me, right? Why did you tell Robin about whatever is going on but not me?”
“I’m sorry,” March muttered, looking down at the ground.
Shaking her head, Stelle forced a smile onto her face and took a step closer to March, “Can we talk? Please? I don’t want us to have this weird tension between us any more.”
“We are talking,” March said, looking up.
“I mean outside of the dream. I want it to be real.”
March’s heart swelled upon seeing the sincere look on Stelle’s face. The fact that Stelle wanted to actually talk things through made March feel relieved. The love she had for Stelle seemed to only grow as the minutes passed by.
March nodded, “Okay. Please.”
-x-
Stelle quickly exited the pool and ran to the door, she exited her room and made her way towards March’s. She took a deep breath in preparation before knocking on the door.
Moments later, the pink-haired girl slowly opened the door. She stepped aside allowing Stelle to enter, the door was closed behind her.
“This is better,” Stelle said, already feeling better about being next to March outside of the dream. The warmth that radiated from her just felt different than it does in the dream land.
March nodded as she and Stelle sat down on the sofa together. The shorter girl played with her own fingers, anxiety bubbled inside of her. A pair of soft and warm hands landed on top of hers. Stelle rubbed March’s knuckles soothingly, trying to calm her nerves.
“Lets just… start with what’s been bothering you. Okay?” Stelle said, doing her best to be patient.
That was when the floodgates opened. Tears immediately pooled into March’s eyes. Stelle wasted no time in moving in closer to pull March into her chest, her arms securely wrapped around the girl’s waist.
March reciprocated, her own arms came up to wrap around Stelle’s neck. It was rare that she ever got a hug like this from her girlfriend. It was always the best feeling.
March hummed happily into Stelle’s neck, breathing in her scent. She couldn’t help but grimace slightly. Of course she smelled like trash. She couldn’t help but smile at how weird her girlfriend could be sometimes.
“You okay?” Stelle asked, a hand coming up to rest on the back of March’s neck.
“Y-Yes. Just got a lot of emotions going on right now.”
“Hmm?”
March pulled away slightly to look into Stelle’s eyes. Her heart skipped a beat upon realising how close their faces were, she couldn’t stop herself from letting her eyes flicker down to Stelle’s lips. The latter smirked in response.
March buried her face back into Stelle’s neck to hide her blush, “S-Stop!”
A chuckle escaped Stelle, “Sorry… Come on… Tell me what’s gotten you all upset,” she gently thread her fingers through pink locks.
March clutched the back of Stelle’s coat, “You have to promise me that you won’t think I’m stupid.”
“Mm, can’t promise that,” she used the arm wrapped around March’s waist to squeeze her lovingly.
“Stelle!” she pulled back with an angry puppy dog look on her face.
“Okay, okay! I promise! I swear!” there was a dumb smile on Stelle’s face which March found completely irresistible.
March finally took a deep breath and nodded, “Okay. Can you tell me who Firefly is?” she finally mentioned the name, she felt some of the weight come off of her shoulders.
“Ah. Okay,” the smile remained on her face, “Firefly…” her fingers subconsciously rubbed March’s side as she thought about what to say, “Well, I ran into her in the dream land. She needed some help so I stepped in and saved her from some guys who were harassing her. And then we kind of just became friends after that. She showed me around a bit and we meet up in the dream when we can. She’s the one who introduced me to gambling on the slot machines, actually.”
March remained silent. Stelle immediately noticed the hurt look on her face.
“Are you perhaps… Jealous?” the hand on the back of March’s neck came round to rest on her cheek, she held her there so she could look deep into her eyes, “Because if you are… You have nothing to be jealous of, March.”
The way she said her name made March’s heart beat fast.
“It was nice to find a friend in the dream land. But she could never compare to you, March. Never. You’re my friend. My best friend. But most importantly you’re my girlfriend.”
March’s glossy eyes seemed to only become more tear-filled, “You didn’t deny it when that woman accused you two of dating.”
And now Stelle understands why March is distrusting.
“I’m sorry. In the moment I thought it was funny. I should’ve told Acheron that I was with you and not Firefly,” Stelle sighed with guilt, “I’m guessing you missed the part after where I told Firefly that I had a girlfriend. I’d never put what we have together at risk, March… I know how you feel. I’ll admit, I was a little jealous with how touchy Robin was being with you.”
“Sorry. I asked her to make you jealous.” “Well, it definitely worked,” her armed tightened around March possessively. She pulled March into her lap, the pink-haired girls legs braced on either side of Stelle’s thighs.
Stelle ran her hands up March’s sides, “I wanted to smash those slot machines with my bat to get my frustration out. I didn’t like the way she looked at you.”
“S-She was playing a part, I’m sorry,” March rested her hands on Stelle’s shoulders.
“Even so…” she sighed, “Look… I promise to let everyone know I’m officially taken if the matter ever comes up again.”
“I’m sorry for making this such a big deal.”
“It’s not a big deal, March. If there’s anything that I’m doing that’s bothering you, then you can always tell me and we can work it out together.”
A small smile appeared on March’s face, “Well, now that you mention it. Your dumpster diving…”
Stelle laughed, “Now that’s something we can’t compromise on.”
“Worth a shot,” March giggled.
The pair ended up in a comfortable silence. Their eyes would occasionally look into one another's before looking away out of anxiety. March played with some random dust that had settled on Stelle’s shoulders, Stelle focused on how March’s waist fit into her hands.
Stelle was completely in love with this girl in her lap right now. She felt bad for making March feel otherwise.
March felt the exact same way.
Stelle decided to lift a hand up to March’s cheek to make her look at her, “I… I hope this has sorted some things between us.”
March nodded, leaning into Stelle’s hand, “Mhm…”
“However, there is one other problem here.”
A frown quickly appeared on March’s face, worry clearly in her eyes, “What-?”
A finger landed on March’s lips to effectively shush her, “The problem is you don’t know how I feel about you.”
March was certain that Stelle could feel how fast her heart was beating.
Stelle moved her hand back to its original place on March’s cheek, “I should’ve told you this sooner. We’ve been dating for a few months now, but I’ve loved you for longer. You’re incredible, March. Nobody could ever make me change how I feel about you. I love y-.”
March caught Stelle off guard by surging forwards, connecting their lips in a heated kiss. Stelle’s eyes slipped closed before finally returning the kiss, pulling the girl in her lap as close to her body as she possibly could.
A thumb rubbed March’s cheek in affection as the pair smiled into the kiss. A heavy blush coated March’s face as she pulled away, her fingers moved to play with the strands of Stelle’s silver hair.
“I guess…” her voice was soft and shaky at first, “I guess I love you too.”
“You guess?” Stelle’s smile was huge, March felt lucky being the one to see her like this.
A smug smile crept its way onto March’s face, “Yeah. You’re alright.”
Stelle tickled March’s sides, causing the girl to squirm and laugh as she tried to get away, “I think what you meant to say is: I love you so much, Stelle! You are amazing and the best intergalactic base baller there is and nobody in the universe is better than you.”
“S-Stop!” March giggled, “Okay okay! I love you so much, Stelle, you are amazing a-and the best intergalactic base baller there is!” Stelle pinched her sides once more, “Ugh, fine. And nobody in the universe is better than you.”
“Why, thank you, March. I’m touched,” Stelle leant back into the sofa, a content smile on her face.
“Geez, you’re such a handful,” March rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t stop her own smile. She felt nothing but love radiating off of Stelle as her golden eyes continued to admire her.#
Stelle had to shake her head to snap herself out of it, “So. We all good here?”
March nodded, “I think so.”
“No more making Robin be your fake girlfriend,” Stelle pouted.
“She wasn’t my fake girlfriend. But I swear, no more jealousy.”
“Good. And I promise to tell people I’m taken if they ask,” her hands moved down to run up March’s legs.
March shivered under her touch, “Mhm. G-Good,” she leaned forward rest her head on Stelle’s shoulder.
Stelle smiled to herself as she breathed in March’s scent. She loved to tease March.
Stelle wouldn’t admit it, but seeing Robin flirt with March sent her mind into a spiral. The anger and hurt she felt when she saw Robin touching her girlfriend was indescribable. Her arms came to wrap around March possessively as her mind became muddled.
She loved March and she regretted not telling her sooner.
“I love you, Stelle,” March’s voice was muffled against silver hair.
Stelle’s breath hitched at the softness in March’s tone. Hearing March say it like this was much better than before.
A tear fell from Stelle’s eye as she kissed the top of March’s head, “I love you, too, March.”
They would both head to the next few dreams together in Penacony’s dream land. Stelle was excited to show off her girlfriend who was the one and only: March 7th.
Firefly was already mentally preparing to hear Stelle gush about March non-stop.

....because as she goes on, continues living a life without firefly. a life so far from the rooftop that morning with her, the memory of firefly fades into a faint feeling of warmth and hurt and anger. and it gets harder to remember her. gets harder to remember the sound of her voice, the look of her eyes, her face, the feeling of her warmth pressed against her as they took the picture together that day.
firefly fades into her mind as nothing but a moment of hurt and love and a lesson. and it still keeps her up at night.

Also can we just talk about these two gay moments? We already know Ratio is gay AF for Aventurine’s zesty ass but I did not expect Argenti to be all “my silver cowboy” like what??? This is starting to make me question if Boothill x Argenti are basically canon in all but name. We already have Acheron and Black Swan (and Acheron is whipped for the trailblazer) and if you’re Stelle they ship the fuck out of her and Firefly. And Topaz seems to be into Jade even though that relationship is mega yikes on Jade’s part on a coconut of Jade being…well, Jade.
Penacony is one of the gayest patches I guess, but is that saying much considering this is hoyo we’re talking about?
