An Evening with Jim Carter & Imelda Staunton
Monday 7th October, 7.30pm
Cranleigh Arts is delighted to announce their latest fundraising event: An evening with Imelda Staunton and Jim Carter hosted by Cranleigh Arts Patron, Paul Jones, and Fiona Hendley Jones.
The two couples have known each other for many years and starred together in a National Theatre production of Guys and Dolls in the early 1980s. On Monday 7th October 2019, they reunite on the Cranleigh Arts stage to share stories from their extensive careers in film, television, theatre and music. The evening will conclude with an audience Q&A.
Imelda Staunton won the Best Actress BAFTA for her performance in Vera Drake, and is known for titles including Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Shakespeare in Love and Pride. Jim Carter is best known for his role as Mr. Carson in Downton Abbey, a role that has earned him four nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. His film credits include Transformers: The Last Knight, The Golden Compass, and Shakespeare in Love. Jim and Imelda star together in the acclaimed Downton Abbey film, released this September.
Tickets are available online at www.cranleighartscentre.org and from the Cranleigh Arts Box Office on 01483 278000.
All proceeds support Cranleigh Arts (registered charity no. 284186) and Smart Cranleigh, helping us continue bringing high quality acts and arts activities to the local stage, and supporting social wellbeing in Cranleigh.

♡ b l o g u p d a t e ! please read if you have a sec.
before i get started with my rambling here’s the tldr: molly’s fc is changing, in that she no longer has one. i’ll try to keep this all down to just three paragraphs so if you just want to hear about that skip to paragraph #3. okay thanks bye.
i was just going through my drafts and there’s a copy of my rules in there which states that im 26. that really struck me because i’m now 29, on my way to 30 this year ( vomit ) that means i’ve been writing, or attempting to write molly for four years, and yet every time i try i end up giving up, and i believe its for one monumentally stupid reason; i’ve never gotten her fc right.
michelle hendley was my first choice, she was as cute as a button and i definitely thought ( and still think ) she has that milkovich look. but the age didn’t line up right, and there was the lack of resources to deal with as well. next up was a period of using random brunettes for icons, but never really feeling like they counted as an fc since it was just about hair color and not one specific person. fairly recently i decided to give dylan gelula a shot, and apart from michelle i’d say she was closest to the mood i was going for. close, but still not perfect, and then when she randomly appeared on the actual show as debbie’s friend i was even less certain about her.
that brings us to the decision i’ve been toying with for a while now, and that decision is to be a semi-faceless blog when it comes to actually having a ‘face claim’. that’s a little confusing, and possibly misleading, so i’ll try to sum it up a little better: molly looks like molly. we’ve all seen her on the show, and she simply looks like an older version of that now. example: fiona looks like emmy rossum, because fiona looks like emmy rossum. that isn’t an fc, in my mind, it’s just her face.
as far as things like aesthetic posts and image posts go, i’ll be using madison rothschild since molly is technically her, and that’s what she looks like but ??? idk. it’s surprisingly hard to explain this the way it feels in my head, but i trust that you all get what i’m trying to articulate here.
