Aw man I know NOTHING about deep-sea creatures I'm so excited to research this

Giant Isopod (Bathynomus giganteus)

Yet another example of an animal that I REALLY want to keep as if they're a dog. These guys are crustaceans, just like crabs and terrestrial pill bugs. This leads me to wonder how they would taste...

Bloodybelly Comb Jelly (Lampocteis cruentiventer)

Very sparkly comb rows (the rows of little nubbins going from its tip to its tail), this little fella is quite the fashionista! I found a beautiful video showing them off. Unfortunately for this creature, I do want to throw it against the wall like the Hannah Montana Milk Pillow just to see what happens.

Viperfish (Chauliodus)

I've seen a preserved specimen in a museum before, these guys are RIDICULOUSLY long! Apparently its teeth are Too Big For He Gotdamn Head, so its lower jaw juts outward to compensate. I respect this creature but it does scare me. Like, a lot.

Tripod Fish (Bathypterois grallator)

Wow. They weren't lying. This guy is a tripod alright.

Praya dubia (fig. G)

Spaghetti.

This creature (and all other creatures in this image) is a siphonophore. Though they look like singular creatures, they're all colonies of many, tiny zooids strung together!
