How Could You Think, Darling, I'd Scare So Easily?
Painland Week Day 2 - Myths/Legends
Charles/Edwin - post-canon
y'all remember how I said a few days ago that day 2 for @painlandweek was almost finished? Yeah,, when I went to bed two nights ago, this fic had 500 words. When I woke up again, I thought, hey, just write another 500 words and get back to it to flesh it out sometime later. Yeah, I finished this at 3am and it turned out to be *checks word count* almost 4000 words! Whoops?
Word count: 3726
ao3 link will be added
Title is from Hozier's "Francesca"
TW: body horror (Charles changing forms)
summary:
Hell has made them stronger together, Edwin is sure of that. It has, however, also made Charles anxious to leave Edwin alone for longer periods of time. When Charles doesn't return home for hours and neither Crystal nor Edwin know where he might be, everything leads to a familiar witch who wants to find out how strong the bond between the two ghosts really is when tested.
It had been exactly two months, three weeks and five days since they escaped Hell, found and lost enough to last another lifetime or two and realised the possibility of relative peace existed for them in the form of a trans-dimensional being who had never learnt what “tranquillity” even meant. Edwin agreed that most times, there was too much paperwork to be done to even try to achieve some peace of mind.
For the most part, though, it was just an excuse. In reality, Edwin struggled with the idea that he could stop running now. After decades of looking over his shoulder, it took an immense amount of effort to direct his gaze at what’s in front of him.
Looking ahead now, all Edwin could see was the empty office, dust dancing over the furniture. The boxing gloves lay forgotten on a table near the entrance door and the football Charles always played with inside despite how much Edwin complained haphazardly rolled under the couch. Everything was still and that was only the beginning of the long list Edwin formulated in his mind of Things That Were Wrong.
Exhibit B: Charles was nowhere to be found. Which, while not particularly sitting right with Edwin, was not an unusual occurrence these days. Charles spent a lot of time with Crystal, helping her get used to her new flat or just keeping her company, watching movies. Crystal always made sure to extend her invitation to Edwin as well and he agreed every once in a while, sitting next to Charles on Crystal’s small but cosy couch, thighs touching. He also enjoyed his time spent with Crystal. She had grown on him and he was quite glad to call her his friend. Edwin lent her the detective novels he loved and in return he listened to what she called “podcasts” about psychology.
But even so, he knew that the needling to “come over to hers with me, yeah, mate? The movie’s s'posed to be aces” was solely Charles’ doing because he did not like letting him out of his sight ever since Hell. This resulted in Charles excessively checking in on him via mirror every few hours, which most times was met by Edwin with a fondly annoyed eye roll. Edwin was quick to give in when confronted with Charles’ pleading eyes. It was not like he was any different in that regard. Spending time with them was no hardship whatsoever and Edwin had to admit that he found it quite sweet how Charles would look after him.
Which brought him to exhibit C: Charles had been gone for more than five hours and had not checked in on Edwin once in this time. Which had Edwin more worried than was probably warranted. Charles would be just fine, he was sure. He would just take a quick trip to Crystal’s and then he could calmly get back to his work for the Night Nurse.
Edwin stood up and put the files under their paperweight. Mirror travel had been one of the most fascinating aspects of being a ghost. It required to be precise and focused while not putting any strain on his energy. It took just a fraction of a second until he found himself standing in the middle of Crystal’s living room.
“Holy fuck!” The resounding thump alerted Edwin to their psychic who was clutching her shoulder that she probably hit against the door frame she was currently leaning against, mouth twisted in pain and eyes wide with shock and irritation. “Edwin! How many times do we have to have this conversation until it sticks?”
“Yes, yes, no sudden mirror jumping into your room. I know.” Edwin pursed his lips, looking around. Better get to the point quickly. “Is Charles here?”
“No, he isn’t. I don’t know where loverboy is, why?”
“He is not home either, has he said anything?”
Crystal flopped down on her couch. “Well, he said he wanted to come ‘round today to help me fix the sink but he didn’t show.” Reaching onto the coffee table for her phone, she checked the time. “Yeah, Charles said he’d be here around two.”
Edwin felt his stomach lurch in anxiety. It was half past five. A chilled silence filled the room as they looked at each other in question.
“Let me grab my jacket.”
“Doesn’t seem any different, right?”
The agency lay completely untouched, nothing out of the ordinary. Normally, this would ease Edwin’s nerves, seeing as it was his sanctuary, his safe space along with Charles. Now, though, this also meant that there were no clues as to where Charles had gone.
“Quite,” he agreed. Walking in circles around their desk, he eventually walked up to the window and peered outside. “Maybe there is something outside, he didn’t leave through the mirror.”
They made their way downstairs, Crystal barely holding onto the railing to not slip on the steps in her hurry while Edwin simply opted to let himself fall through the floor to get to the entrance door as soon as possible. The night creeped in steadily, the shadows growing longer, twisting at their ankles. Their office was located a little off the beaten path, but not too far. When they first started flat-hunting, they were conscious that they had to balance on an incredibly fine line of finding a place just secluded enough to not bear the brunt of the daily London tourism but also don’t attract anyone who might be searching for lost places to scout out.
This resulted in a beautiful view from their window but dark alleyways that led to seemingly nowhere, cobblestones streets with missing stones and cracks in them. The walls towered over them here, making it harder to distinguish the darkening sky from the roofs and edges. Their living neighbour had hung their bed sheets on the washing lines on the balcony and whenever Edwin blinked and tried to bring his eyes back into focus, they reminded him of David the Demon when they first exorcised him.
It was dark, dirty and daunting. Nothing looked to be amiss. Except, of course, for the backpack that was sloped against the gutter. Edwin snatched it up and true enough: Charles’ bag of tricks. The straps showed various scratches and the top was stained. Decidedly not a condition Charles would leave his most prized possession in. Crystal was aware of this as well and carefully reached out to read it.
The few seconds that passed while Crystal’s eyes turned white and she stared into the distance were the most agitating of his existence.
Crystal gasped, letting the bag fall to the floor again, supporting herself on her knees. Edwin crouched next to her with his hands fluttering around her, not exactly knowing what he was supposed to do to help her.
Resurfacing, she stood up again, shooting Edwin a small grateful smile that quickly blinked away again.
“Esther’s back,” she announced and tucked her jacket tighter around her. “She ambushed him here and took him.”
And Edwin’s world broke into pieces, shattering from the sky onto the puddle-ridden street and breaking the moonshine.
He didn’t say anything at first, every word vanished from his mind.
“I might know where they are, though. Or, I can find out.”
“How?” His voice sounded rough - harsh, but Crystal didn’t get angry. She knew that this was not borne of anger but sheer gripping despair.
“She had a business card on her and when Charles tried to defend himself, he caught a glimpse.”
This, more than anything, gave Edwin the determination needed to hoist the backpack onto his shoulder.
“Let us not waste any time, then. Do you think this internet you have might be of help?”
“For sure, Edwin,” she answered, petting his shoulder.
If Edwin hadn’t been out of his mind worrying about Charles, leaving him with sparsely any mental capacities to think about anything else, then he could have admitted that Coupeville, Washington was a tranquil but charming little town. With its little art stores and cafes, it gave a delightfully unassuming appearance.
Edwin hated every moment. For the sake of not leaving Crystal alone - he tried to silence the voice in his head that whispered you couldn’t take care of Charles either -, he had suffered through another flight, a ferry and multiple train rides.
Crystal huffed as she dragged her suitcase up the stairs.
“She couldn’t have been less creative, huh? Relocating one ferry-ride away.” Which was true. Port Townsend could be reached in less than an hour.
Personally, he could not care less whether she called this town or the bloody Empire State Building her home. All he cared about was getting Charles back as soon as possible.
They quickly checked into a hotel to get rid of the suitcase. Insisting that she had slept enough while travelling, they immediately headed to the address that Crystal had found out using the business card - a brewery.
It must have been well visited only a few weeks ago, the dust had not properly set yet. But the lights were out and the doors were barricaded. Quickly nodding at Edwin, Crystal got on the way to find a window she could climb through while Edwin seized the opportunity to phase through the doors. Darkness enveloped him and he could not hear a single sound.
He slowly made his way across the reception area, trying to get a feeling for how big the building really was and where Esther might have been hiding in here. If there was actually any connection to Charles’ disappearance and this place, anyway. But Edwin couldn’t stop and think about this very real possibility.
Focusing on his surroundings, he noticed suspicious lines behind a grandfather clock on his left. And sure enough, upon examining them up close, there was a small door hidden behind it. Anxious excitement coursed through his body and he waited impatiently for Crystal’s arrival.
“Searched for the entrance for celebrities, did you?”
“Shut it. Let’s move this clock.”
Despite taking a few tries, at last they found themselves faced with the entirety of the door. The handle was made out of iron, but Edwin didn’t hesitate to grab it despite the pain and the indignant screech Crystal let sound.
“Are you out of your fucking mind? You might still need that hand.”
“Irrelevant and inaccurate, I won’t lose it by touching iron for a few seconds, do not be silly. And regardless, Charles does matter more right now.” He tried to hide the red swelling on his palm but he was not ignorant enough to think that Crystal actually hadn’t noticed.
“A plan is needed. I would suggest you wait here, in case Esther is not here and tries to surprise us.”
“Alright.” Crystal nodded. “Don’t do anything stupid, yeah? Charles wouldn’t forgive anyone if you got hurt.”
Least of all himself went unsaid but they both heard it all the same.
Edwin inclined his head, opened the door and went inside.
The room unfolding in front of him was surprisingly spacious but shockingly empty except for the enormous carpet. Sliding onto his knees, he felt the cloth and without a doubt: laced with magic. It was easy enough to counter the spell that acted as both a means to soundproof and seal without a lock whatever lay underneath it.
Moving it aside, he was faced with a basement and without a second thought, jumped down.
Like a moth to a flame, Edwin’s eyes immediately found Charles in the completely dark room.
“Charles,” he breathed, the name echoing off the walls like a prayer.
Charles was slumped against the far wall, hands in cuffs mounted next to head which was lolling unoriented. When he finally looked up, Edwin was met with a disbelieving smile. But before Edwin could reciprocate, a look of blinding terror coloured Charles’ face pale.
“Edwin!” he hissed, pulling at his cuffs which brought tears to his eyes in pain. “Please, please leave, Edwin, she’s after you.”
Edwin didn’t even think about leaving without Charles. All it took was the span of a blink and Edwin fell to his knees beside him, trying to find magical leeway for him to put the cuffs out of action, but to his dismay he realised that Esther had reinforced her strategy, not just opting for simple iron but also a curse.
“What? What do you mean by that?” he asked, only half listening as he mentally flipped through all the knowledge he had on this kind of magic.
“She,” Charles began, coughing, “She said she was impressed that we escaped last time. She wants to get rid of me first and see how much it’d raise your pain level to drain you again. Put a curse on me too, in case you showed up.”
That got Edwin’s attention. “What?! Do you feel alright? What kind of curse?”
“Eh.” Charles’ head lolled to the side again, as if he was losing consciousness. “She wants to try sacrificing me and if you tried to rescue me, I’d turn in all kinds of horrible beasts. Wouldn’t want to hold onto me then, she said. Wants to see how far you’d go.”
“Charles, Charles!” Edwin held him by the shoulders, careful not to jostle him. “I’d go anywhere for you, do you understand? A curse is not going to stop me.”
But Charles was barely there anymore, teetering on the edge of oblivion. “S’ planned for t’morrow. I won’t blame you for letting go, mate, you were scared for so long, don’t need any more of that, yeah?” And then he fell into something close to sleep but what most likely resembled unquiet rest.
There was nothing he could do against the cuffs, not with no grasp on what exact kind of magic he was dealing with and no idea how much time he had left until Esther would show up.
Edwin put a hand to Charles’ cheek. “Don’t worry, I’ll hold onto you, Charles, stay strong.”
With one last glance to his love, he began climbing back out of the basement.
Upon reading up on locations with magical and sacrificial history in Washington, Edwin concluded that their best chance was a secluded part of coastline, the stony beach along with the clear view of the sky providing the perfect atmosphere.
Edwin and Crystal were hiding in the underwood, watching Esther where she was standing near the shore, when suddenly, something moved right in front of them.
Crystal gasped. “Did- did the path just move?”
Quickly, he shushed her. “No, there is no path,” he whispered, “there is only the beach. That is a snake.”
True enough: a black snake slithered up to the ritual circle Esther had set up. This snake was even bigger than the one in Esther’s house in Port Townsend and tied to its back, there was Charles.
“Okay,” he said softly, “wish me luck.”
Consolingly, Crystal put her hand on his shoulder. “You don’t need luck. Go get him. I’ll deal with Esther.”
They stood up and sneaked closer. From a safe distance, Crystal started tapping into her powers. Edwin trusted her, therefore he turned to Charles straight away.
Edwin had also found a remedy for the cuffs’ curse, which made it easy to pull him off, hugging him close and making it just far enough away to give Crystal the opportunity to handle the snake.
Tightening his arms around Charles, who was panting against his neck, it didn’t take long until he could feel Charles’ body morph.
When Charles told him that he’d turn into various beasts, Edwin had thought about what he had been afraid of when he was still alive. After seventy years in Hell, any scary children’s story he had heard lost its appeal. When he was ten, his neighbour’s children had told him a story about Spring-heeled Jack who’d haunt the streets of London but also other areas of Britain. They told him about his terrifying looks with his claws, jumping at passersby to scratch them and then back into the night.
Thinking back now, though, Edwin would gladly face a hundred variations of Spring-heeled Jack all alone if it meant that Charles would be safe and sound in their office come next morning.
“I’ve got you, Charles,” he mumbled. He didn’t respond and as Edwin looked up at him, he came face-to-face with a doll version of Charles, his eyes unseeing and mouth twisted in a numb smile, a hollow feeling to his body. Edwin could see his own face reflected in Charles’ eyes, unease boiling slowly under his skin. Where Charles’ hold on him had been strong and desperate only moments ago, now it was stiff and felt like porcelain. Edwin’s fear of dolls was real and tangible but he was far more scared of letting Charles go and shattering him on the stones.
He pressed Charles closer to him.
He stayed in this form for a while until Edwin felt a shift again. This time, Charles resembled the demon that had dragged Edwin to Hell. He was a familiar sight albeit an unpleasant one, so Edwin just put his forehead to Charles’ shoulder and waited it out, the haze around them slowly dissipating.
Next was the thing one of his demons had traded him to. He maintained that it was worse than a demon, for the simple reason that there were characteristics one could apply to a demon, it was possible to create a definition and know what to expect when one encountered a demon. This thing, however, was less a physical form and more a foreboding. The feeling deep in the bones that something horrible was imminent and no matter how hard one would try to work against it, failure was predestined. A looming presence - a threat. There was a voice in the back of the mind, whispering knowingly about every mistake he ever made and it was all your fault, right? Niko dying, Charles getting hurt, Crystal being dragged along to all of this, having been in Hell? But you don’t need me to tell you that, you already think so.
It was a sick trick and his only enemy in this was his own mind. But Edwin had grown, he had realised that thinking something didn’t have to reflect reality. And while he did blame himself for all these things from time to time, it was a passing sorrow. None of the people involved in these thoughts would want him to condemn himself and after his second time in Hell, Edwin had understood that he needed to show himself self-respect as well. Hell was an error Edwin had had no control over.
He did, however, have control over not letting Charles fear that he would be afraid enough to leave him. Because he was quite sure that underneath these appearances, Charles was conscious of what was happening and scared out of his mind.
“Don’t worry,” he whispered. “It’s alright.”
The fourth form was the spider-doll-demon. Its many arms were gripping Edwin’s back, the dolls’ heads pressing into his chest and neck. Edwin tried to slow his breathing. He spent more than seventy years running away from this demon and being so close to it was associated with blinding pain, being torn apart over and over again.
Maybe now was the time to finally stop running and face his fear head-on. And so he looked straight at it, staring lovingly beneath its surface where he knew Charles was.
One second to the other, the demon was gone. There was no other figure, but Edwin still felt Charles’ presence and he tensed up at once, realising what this particular fear resembled: Charles was invisible, gone from his sight. No means for him to see him again, the only thing left for him to do was anxiously grip where Charles’ shoulders were supposed to be and not let Charles jerk away if he saw the horror on Edwin’s face. This was the only shape that compelled Edwin to screw his eyes shut.
Time passed until he felt Charles change one more time. This was the only one not tailored specifically to one of Edwin’s fears and it showed him that he had been right in assuming where Esther had drawn her inspiration for this act from.
Charles resembled a burning coal, the heat licking at Edwin’s skin. He embraced him tightly, stood up with him and dragged him into the water. Below the surface, he could see Charles turning back into himself, his bright eyes the most beautiful sight he had ever seen. Nothing had ever felt as right as holding Charles in his arms.
Bubbles appeared in front of Charles’ mouth even though he didn't need to breathe and Edwin erupted spontaneously into laughter at the ridiculous sight of Charles trying to speak underwater. Despite being in the water, he felt himself get teary-eyed. He didn’t even try to fool himself into thinking that they would not both be sobbing messes as soon as they resurfaced. But for now all he needed to do was drink in Charles’ smile.
Back on the shore, Crystal was busy brushing off her jeans.
“Boys!” she yelled as soon as she saw them, running towards them and pulling them both into a hug at the same time. “Esther’s gone, let’s hope for good.”
“Yeah,” Charles whispered, putting one arm around Edwin’s hips.
Crystal pulled back, smiling knowingly but in a comforting way. “So glad you’re both alright. I’ll go check to make sure no one here accidently saw me fighting a huge snake and a witch. Meet me at the hotel, yeah?” With that, she walked back in the direction of the trees.
Charles turned to Edwin, smiling shyly. “So, you kept holding me,” he stated.
“Nothing has ever been easier, Charles.” He put his hands on Charles’ shoulders again. They fit so well there.
They hugged once more.
“You know,” Edwin mused, playing with Charles’ hair, “it was like Tam Lin.”
“Mhh?” Charles mumbled, he sounded tired. “What’s that?”
“A legendary Scottish ballad. Not letting your love go, no matter what.”
“Oh.” Charles’ eyes were wide. “Does that one end in tragedy too?”
Edwin smiled. “No, it ends precisely like this.” And Charles’ smile was brilliant as he leaned in and kissed Edwin.

WIP Wednesday
last week i was hit with the writing bug, i stayed up until 4am two nights in row just writing, i went to watch a musical and the whole day, except watching the show itself, all i could think about was writing, i watched eras tour livestreams at 3am and related each surprise song to the ship i as writing. i was obsessed.
I now have 18k words of a Benedict/Sophie fic for my Modern Bridgerton AU series, (and a few thousand words of Polin content too) and while the progress has slowed in the last few days i am optimistic that i'll finish this story, optimistic that I'll catch the writing bug again, especially since i have most of it mapped out - I've decided to actual plan shit for once, not just have a vague outline, and it's made it much easier to write.
anyway, here's ~500 of the 18k words <3
Masked Truths (working title) snippet
“If it weren’t raining,” She said, “It wouldn’t be England.” Benedict hummed. “You know, whenever I’m away, on a holiday or what not, I do often find myself missing the rain.” Sophie chuckled, shaking her head. Her long hair fluttered around her shoulders at the movement and she smiled as she tucked a strand back behind her ear. “I feel like I spend half my life staring out the window and wishing the rain away.” “You’d miss it, if it were gone,” Benedict found himself saying, and, apparently, it had been the wrong thing. Or, at least, it had sent her into a pensive silence. He watched as a myriad of thoughts flittered across her face, and found his hand twitching once again for a pencil, a paint brush, a fucking biro and post-it note. There was something about the way she continued to absentmindedly hold her hand tucked behind her ear, her elbow resting against her other arm as it crossed over her chest. The way her mask sat against her nose, held on her face by a silver ribbon that tied around her head disappearing under her long inky black hair. The far off look she had in her eyes. “You’re very quiet,” He said softly, after several long seconds of committing the sight of her to his memory. He was glad she’d found her before he’d had more than a glass of Champagne, glad his memories of tonight were unlikely to be fuzzy around the edges from anything other than the intoxication he felt simply by being in her presence. “I was just thinking,” She said, dropping her hand and turning her face to him, then her whole body, her shoulder now leaning against the wall instead of her back. Benedict instinctively mirrored her. “About?” “About what I’d miss - and what I wouldn’t - should my life drastically change.” So she had been in rather deep thought then. Benedict forced his own to not follow a similar path. “And do you expect it to drastically change?” He asked. She sighed, smile turning wistful and ever so slightly sad. “No.” “But you wish it to,” He guessed. “Yes,” She breathed out seemingly unable to stop herself. It was a word full of hope, of sadness, of desire, of longing. Benedict took her hands, bringing them to his lips and kissing them in turn. “Then we shall begin right now,” He told her, “And tomorrow you shall be transformed.” She gave him an ironic smile that wrinkled her nose. “Tonight I am transformed,” She told him softly, “And tomorrow… the woman in front of you will disappear.” Benedict felt his heart clench in his chest at the pure sadness that filled her voice - in exact opposition to the joy of earlier in the night. He drew her into his chest and she fell into him willingly, he placed a fleeting kiss against her forehead. “Then we will pack a lifetime into a night,” He told her.

Furano Trip
To make the most of my two days off I decided to drive to Furano after finishing work, to ensure I would be able to see the lavender first thing in the morning. I packed up the car and had a shower, then headed off. About 5 minutes after leaving home, I approached a cat sitting calmly in the middle of my lane, I screeched to a stop and the cat didn’t run so I rolled over the top and then it must’ve slunk away. It was enough to give me a fright, I drove a little slower from that point on since I was still in town. Well, after clearing Kutchan town I was on a country road on the way towards the mountains and the second cat was not as lucky... He darted out from a farmhouse and I saw his little ginger face in the split second before he bounced into the right front tyre. There was a bit of a thud but no bump. He ran off into the bushes. Very shakily I pulled over and went to investigate, there was a woman there who could speak English and she said she had seen him run down into the bushes surrounding the farm. I left with an eerie feeling that maybe I should go back home and drive tomorrow, like these cats were meant to be a sign. I drove on for about an hour, my lights on highbeam and my eyes on high alert – I was more concerned about deer now. I pulled over after another hour or so and sent a message to my mum just in case the universe was conspiring, and then the spookiest part... As I was sitting in the car recording my message, a third cat came running towards me! In the middle of nowhere! Very carefully I drove around it and back on to the road and that was thankfully the last cat I saw on the drive. After that it was smooth, I stopped for a late night McDonald’s at Chitose and then drove on until I found a nice big parking lot with a 24 hour toilet. There were bugs everywhere in the heat of a warm summer’s night, flying around the lights of the toilet building. I slept quite well all things considered.
The next morning I woke up around 6am when the heat in the car simply became too much to bear. It was gearing up to be at least 30 degrees today. Somehow the exact time I wanted to use the bathroom there was a cleaning crew surrounding it and I could just quickly brush my teeth and wash my face before leaving. I started by visiting a large campground park that I had intended on staying at last night but didn’t quite reach there, and luckily I hadn’t because it was a crowded carpark with a far worse toilet! I drove up to the first lavender field of the day, Choei Lavender Farm. There was a winding road up the back to reach a mountaintop viewpoint overlooking the lavender and the Kamifurano township. I battled to take some videos with my GoPro that seemed to be struggling in the heat already – by 8am it was already 28 degrees. Japan doesn’t do daylight savings so it means that sunrise is about 3am in summer so the hottest part of the day is earlier in the morning than you would expect. I parked down at the bottom of this farm and took a few more photos although it wasn’t possible to get a good angle of the word “Kamifurano” spelled out in Hiragana in large lettering filled with colourful flowers. I decided to get some gas because Kimbo was already thirsty again, and then arrived at Farm Tomita just before 9am. As Google maps directed me there, she made sure to inform me “this destination will be closed when you arrive” but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to wait for 10 minutes in the carpark. Well it seemed that the Japanese had the same idea! The main parking lot was already full and the parking attendant waved his lightsaber to guide me right down to the back lot. Furano has great flower fields but not much shade so poor Kimbo had to suffer in the sun while I went for a walk around. By now it was 30 degrees and humid. Japanese people carried umbrellas and wore full length sleeves in the heat. Many people were dressed up in their Sunday best to take family photos in the lavender with a bouquet purchased from the gift shop for 500 yen. Dogs were posed for photos and then taken back into the shade where they could lie down. I took my photos and walked around the perimeter but it was far too hot for me so I had to browse in one of the air conditioned gift shops to cool down. I tried to walk up the side of one of the more shady lavender fields but it was deceivingly steep and I struggled to get halfway! It was time for an ice cream break by 9.30am, and of course I had to try the lavender ice cream again. It was a soft purple colour, with a mild taste and started dripping immediately. Luckily there was a shady seat to sit and eat it and appreciate the views of Kamifurano and the mountains in the distance. In winter Furano is also a hugely popular ski resort that is often paired with Niseko for longer snowsports trips. To distract my thoughts, a child squeaked in with those annoying shoes that sound like you’re standing on a plush toy squeaker with every step. All heads turned to look at the child, who promptly trips up and starts scream-crying uncontrollably. And now my relaxing ice cream break was ruined. I walked around a little bit more and bought a few postcards and lavender things to send home then sat down for a drink and a potato croquette for an early lunch. I had been waiting around for a bit because I wanted to visit a café nearby that opened only at 12pm. It was relaxing anyway to sit and watch Japanese people enjoying the lavender and trying to get the best photos when the entirety of the scene is purple!
I drove to Kamifurano town and parked at the post office as I couldn’t find any free parking lots near the Polar Coffee café, I withdrew some cash and then walked there as a loud alarm sounded through the city – presumably a test as no one seemed even mildly concerned. On Instagram yesterday I’d seen that my colleagues Tim and Nick had come to this café which is owned by a Taiwanese guy (they’re also Taiwanese) and it had a good vibe from their photos so I was determined to try! It was even better than expected, I ordered a flat white and it was not only very Instagrammable but also cheaper than anywhere in Niseko. Cooling down in the air conditioned café was also a highlight. After my coffee I made the long drive to Asahikawa to see a rice field. But not just any rice field, one planted very carefully with different varieties of rice that had coloured shoots. The reason I made this long drive just for a rice field is because the second half of July is the perfect time to view such rice fields - the rice shoots have grown in and are brightly coloured at this time. I was very proud of myself as I directed myself to the field. Although a lot of people online said it was so hard to find, I had no trouble at all. Actually my Google map would have led me exactly there but I followed some signposts instead that said “tanbo art” on them in Japanese, and the reason I was so proud – I could actually read what it said! I was the only person there so I parked where I pleased and climbed up the viewing platform to see the art. Unfortunately the field was so wide that it was hard to take a photo of the entire thing, even with panorama! The design changes each year and this time it was a couple of anime characters, there was also something written way off to the left that wasn’t really visible from the platform and I could only see “2021” and some squashed Japanese characters from the ground. Anyhow, it was a very unique attraction and I was glad I had made the trip to see it. My next destination was the Ningle Terrace; a series of log cabin-esque boutique shops arranged along a wooden walkway in the forest. If my phone wasn’t so terrible with capturing greenery then it would’ve been another Instagram-worthy place to see but other than a cool photos the souvenirs were quite expensive and many of the shops were closed anyway. I took a long drive from Furano to Obihiro for tomorrow’s adventure and stopped at a mall for a KFC dinner. Usually Japanese KFC is great, but this one had unfriendly staff and they gave me a half frozen burger which I had to send back for a fresh one. I bought a few supermarket supplies and then drove towards the small Obihiro airport once it was dark to find a suitable parking space for the night. I passed the airport parking lot as it there were too many floodlights which would make it hard to sleep, further up the road there was a small shoulder so I stayed there in the pitch black instead, with a nice forest on either side. I got out of the car to change into my shorts to sleep but I heard rustling in the bushes and freaked out! Instead I changed inside with the doors locked. I felt a little uneasy falling asleep as there had been searchlights beaming around the sky that I’d assumed were to find intruders sneaking into the abandoned Gluck Kingdom theme park and I worried someone would knock on my car window and tell me to move on. Of course I didn’t want to get caught on my urban exploring but I thought “you would have to be absolutely insane to venture in there at night”. As it turned out though, the lights were for the airport perimeter security and nothing to do with the theme park coincidentally located about a kilometre opposite.

SIDE EVENT 009.
** a shoutout to @lgcxjinah and @lgcsoyoun for giving us the inspiration for this side event !! **
a reminder on side-events; they are non-mandatory occasional events that your muse can choose to participate in or not.
while missing an event might mean missing out on points, be aware that choosing to take part in it could have positive or negative consequences for your muse. there is also no telling which part of the event will have consequences either since they will be tailored to make it difficult to guess what could impact your muse. while the final consequences are decided at the same time as the event is created, we will only reveal them the sunday after the deadline. so choose wisely: are you willing to make a gamble with your muse?
LEGACY ENTERTAINMENT HALLOWEEN PARTY
** we are aware that HALLOWEEN can be a sensitive time for some. while making your threads and posts, please make sure to properly identify possible triggers at the top of your post. also, please refrain from posting an image that could be considered as a trigger straight on dash! you may link to it or put it under a read more if you desire, once again with all triggers tagged **
on the week of october 19, every trainees and artists of the company are officially invited to LEGACY ENTERTAINMENT’S YEARLY COSTUMED HALLOWEEN PARTY. if there’s a place to be on OCTOBER 31, it’s there! every year, legacy is known to host the biggest marketing event on that one day. brands compete ferociously to be the one that the company chooses! this year, it’s none other than SEOUL ESCAPE ROOM that won the bid.
on the day of the party, they are tasked to provide the decorations of the huge hall that can accommodate up to 300 people. they do not fail to deliver the best halloween day atmosphere. however, the twist is revealed as soon as the guests enter the room; everything is upside down, and therefore, the party is happening on what would be the ceiling of the room. the festivities will begin at 8PM and end at 3AM. servers will be passing through the venue during the entire evening with finger foods and non-alcoholic drinks. a dj will be in charge of the music, while a host will hold different events during the night (examples include a dance contest, noraebang battle, and more) and will crown the person with the best costume! a couple of photobooths are installed for everybody to make memories of this night. to prepare for the event, everybody will be freed from their schedules at 3PM on the 31st.
furthermore, upon entering the hall, every attendee will be given the same clue ‘you’. everywhere in the room, other clues have been hidden all over the place. those who can find them all will be able to create the sentence ‘who are you dressed as?’. once they think they have the answer, guests are invited to go to one of the cameras set everywhere around the room and give their answer. should they fail, they will receive a gush of air straight in the face. should they pass and tell who they are dressed as, they will be asked why did they pick this costume, then given a 50,000 won prepaid card gift to be spent anywhere.
since press and seoul escape room representatives will also be present on the scene, trainees and idols alike are requested to have fun but still keep it professional!
the videos will be released on SEOUL ESCAPE ROOM’s official youtube account starting from NOVEMBER 3.
however, BAE SIWOO and SEO HANEUL of DBSD are ready to strike this year again...
ORIGINAL PRANKSTERS
Source: Naver [ TRENDING ] BAE SIWOO AND SEO HANEUL PRANKING SHOW SEASON 2 CONFIRMED!
last year, the famous duo has begun the tradition of pranking other celebrities in the industry and their fellow labelmates. with the success of last season’s pranks, ‘hanwoo’ are back it.
NEW BUILDING VISIT: after months of announcing that legacy will be moving to a new building, the time has finally come. while the official move will be on november 1st, during the week of the 26th, staff, artists and trainees alike will be taken in group of 2 or 3 to visit the new building. the first to go will be PROJECT ORIGIN MEMBERS on monday. they will be taken on a full tour of the building and won’t notice any anomalies. from tuesday, the rest of the company will be taking the same tour, however, upon reaching the 10th floor (cafeteria level), they enter either a PURPLE, A LIGHT BLUE OR A DARK BLUE ROOM that the guide lock them in. they learn that they can only leave the rooms once they have solved the room!
for the PURPLE ROOM, people first have to find the numbers 2 0 0 8 hidden in a book to unlock a box that will give them their second clue; a candle. matches will be hidden around the room. if they light up the candle, it will quickly burn and reveal the final clue; girl. the three clues taken together hint the girlgroup ‘BLAZING’. to leave the room, they will have to enter the password (BLAZING) on an ipad that will only turn on once they have found out all three clues.
for the LIGHT BLUE ROOM, people first have to find the numbers 2 0 0 9 hidden in a book to unlock a box that will give them their second clue; a paper with three letters ‘X Y Z’. the paper will seem pointless until they finish completing a puzzle of the korean penisula. they will find the three letters next to the words nation (x), little (y), brother (z). all clues taken together hint the boygroup ‘DAEBAK SHIDAE’. to leave the room, they will have to enter the password (DBSD) on an ipad that will only turn on once they have found out all three clues.
for the DARK BLUE ROOM, people first have to find the numbers 2 0 1 0 hidden in a book to unlock a box that will give them their second clue; a small sun shaped light. upon further inspection, if somebody opens it, it will be written inside ‘she can only me seen when i’m asleep’. this hints to the lights needing to be turned off. once they are the final clue will be revealed on the ceiling ‘once i awaken, i complete it’. the three clues taken together hint the boygroup ‘HARU’ (day). to leave the room, they will have to enter the password (HARU) on an ipad that will only turn on once they have found out all three clues.
PAJAMA PERFORMANCE: in the meantime, PROJECT ORIGIN MEMBERS (without jung miso), are by MBC to perform in different locations for a special episode of Show! Music Core just as some seniors have before them. each unit will board a bus on monday late evening on the 26th; LGC GIRLS will head towards GWANGJU and LGC BOYS towards BUSAN. both units will rest at a hotel minutes away from the actual cities. their accommodations are a large room with mats for everybody to sleep together, a small cooking area and a bathroom. these types of rooms are very common on the countryside and not so out of place. however, they are in for a surprise when suddenly, the ceiling ascends and the walls go down, and they find themselves on a stage with 500 fans silently waiting for them. after confettis are thrown, the music begins: DUN DUN for the girls, followed by HIP SONG, and MIROH for the boys, followed by ROUND 2. (watch this video from 7:20 to have a proper idea of the prank). for LGC Boys, Seo Haneul and Bae Siwoo will appear on stage after the two songs to announce the prank, while for LGC Girls Park Haemi and Song Hanui of BLAZing will be the ones doing so. they will also break the news that there’s no Show! Music Core recording lined up.

It was one of the summers you would only see in movies. Meeting a hot older guy at the beach on a blind double date, starting out as only a fling and ending up falling in love with the guy. He treated you better than any guy you had ever met, making sure you were always comfortable, giving you cuddles and stroking your hair when you were sad and taking you out every week to show you off. You had met all his friends, even his parents briefly and they all loved you. You had even introduced him to your parents and friends, gaining their approval. You thought you were gonna marry the guy, you’d even talked about moving in together. He was best friends with your best friend’s boyfriend, it was perfect. Until it wasn’t.
“Bucky we gotta get up, I have classes today.” You mumbled smiling at him softly kissing his lips, feeling his stubble rub against your chin.
“Classes?” He mumbled sleepily, pulling you closer to him and snuggling his head into your chest.
“Yeah you know this, I’m in grad school. Final year baby.” You mumbled, trying to untangle yourself from his body as you kissed his long hair softly.
“Wait. What school?” He asked you carefully, eyebrows furrowing and suddenly more awake than before.
“Harvard, I thought we went through this?” You sighed as you pulled on your jeans and sweater, brushing your hair into a bun. Softly walking around your apartment so you didn’t wake your roommate.
“Since when?” He asked in surprise, pulling on his own clothes quickly.
“Since 5 years ago, why are you being so weird? I told you this months ago.” You laughed at his shocked face and gave him a small kiss before going to the bathroom.
“No, you didn’t! I’d have remembered this. Look Y/N I gotta go to work, I’ll text you later.” He rushed out, giving you a quick kiss on the cheek as you brushed your teeth and practically running out the front door.
“Well, that was weird.” You said out loud to yourself, shrugging as you finished getting ready.
You didn’t hear from Bucky until your morning break that day. It was a phone call that broke your heart, it was cold and not at all like Bucky.
“Hey Buck, how’s work?” You smiled as you answered the phone.
“Y/N look we gotta call this off.”
“What?” You choked out, hoping not to tear up in the middle of a campus cafe.
“I can’t do this anymore. I can’t see you we’re done.” Bucky rushed out.
“Bucky I thought you loved me. We were gonna move in together. What happened?” You asked, stepping outside to try to mask your sadness from your classmates gathered in the cafe.
“I don’t. I can’t live a lie. I’m sorry.” He mumbled.
“Fuck your sorry Bucky. I loved you. I wanted to marry you someday and now you’re telling me it was all a lie. You used me. Fuck you. Don’t speak to me ever again.” You shouted angrily, hanging up your phone and throwing it against the wall out of anger. You let the tears fall down your face as you dropped to the ground, curling up on the grass, back to the wall.
“Y/N?” You heard a voice ask making you look up through your wet eyelashes, to see your best friend standing there. “Woah what happened?”
“Nat, he dumped me. He said he never loved me.” You sobbed as the redhead pulled you into her side as she sat next to you.
“But he looked so loved up with you, he told us he thought you were the one. It doesn’t add up.” She said confused, taking out her phone to shoot a text to Steve, her boyfriend and Bucky’s best friend to see what the hell was going on. Steve had suggested setting them up on a blind date together, saying his old army buddy who had just come back to town needed a companion, and that you would be perfect after knowing you for a year. If anyone knew something, it was Steve.
“Yeah well, he lied.” You sighed, wiping the tears falling from your eyes and lifting your head to look at her. “Can we go home?”
“Yeah come on, get your stuff.” She smiled sadly at you. “What the hell happened to your phone?” She asked seeing the smashed screen in your hands as you picked it up.
“I kinda chucked it at the wall,” You laughed slightly.
“Only you. Come on, let’s go watch movies and eat junk food.”
For a week you didn’t leave your apartment. You told your advisor you had the flu and were going to be off a while. You barely left your bedroom unless Natasha and Steve pulled you out of bed to eat and shower. They took it in turns to hold you while you cried and stroked your hair until you fell asleep. Steve practically lived with you for the last 2 months and he was like a brother to you, no matter his connection to Bucky. He had only tried to bring him up once and knew never to do it again.
“He’s hurting too you know.” He mumbled one night as you were crying into his chest.
“Steve please don’t talk about him. It’s too hard.” You pleaded with him making him nod and kiss your hair, looking at Nat sadly. They hated seeing you like this, you were either not eating at all or stuffing your face, sleeping too much or staying up until early hours. Your heart was broken into two and they didn’t know how to fix it. So they did everything they could until you went back to school 2 weeks later. Since you had only attended one class on your first day back, you needed to catch up and make a good impression on your new professors.
When you saw him at the front of the room, hair tucked into a man bun and dark bags under his eyes, you froze. He did a double-take when he saw you and locked his eyes on to yours, his immediately softening and his jaw slacking a little. He looked at you pleadingly as you choked back your tears. You were not ready for this.
You turned around and left the room, immediately rushing back home and ignoring the shouts he made from his classroom door. When you got in you slammed the door and stood in front of the couch where Nat and Steve were cuddling and watching a movie. You tapped your foot impatiently as Nat sat up abruptly and Steve gulped guiltily.
“Y/N what’s-” Nat started but you cut her off.
“Do you want to tell her or should I?” You asked him, raising your eyebrow.
“Tell me what? Steve?” She asked turning to look at him confused.
“Bucky. Um, Bucky is -” He started stumbling, trying to figure out how not to hurt the two most important girls in his life.
“My fucking professor.” You seethed, making Nat look between you two in shock. “When the fuck were you going to tell me, Rogers?” You asked him angrily.
“He told me not to.” He mumbled quietly.
“So you lied to her? To me? To us?” Nat asked, getting up and standing beside you.
“Look I’m sorry. He wanted to speak to you himself.” Steve spoke, licking his lips and avoiding the gaze of the two girls.
“Steve I’ve just stopped crying myself to sleep and now I see him and it breaks my heart all over again. You’ve helped him pour salt in the wound. You’re an ass, Rogers.” You shouted and stormed off into your bedroom slamming your door.
You heard him and Nat whisper arguing with each other before hearing the front door close softly and a knock at your door. It creaked open and you felt a dip behind you on your bed and arms pulling you into their chest. You cried into them, banging onto his chest as he whispered sorry over and over again.
“You helped him break my heart, Steve.” You hiccuped, looking up at him.
“I know bub, I’m sorry. I didn’t want to but he wanted to speak to you. If you don’t want to I’ll support you all the way. I’m really sorry I didn’t tell you.” He spoke kissing your forehead and squeezing you tightly.
“He broke my heart, Steve. It’s too hard.” You mumbled, sitting up and grabbing your pillow to your chest watching him mirror your actions.
“I know. I’m sorry for pushing it. I’ll tell him to back off.” He smiled at you sadly.
“I need your help.” You mumbled.
“Anything.”
“Ask him to let me drop his class.”
“Y/N, that’s your dream class.” He mumbled, looking at you sadly.
“I can’t focus knowing he’s up there teaching, it’s too hard. I can’t do it.” You spoke softly.
“Okay. I’ll do it. You’ll have to set up a meeting though, you know that.” He said looking at you sadly.
“I know, but after that, I won’t ever have to see him again. Get his signature and go.”
“Okay.” He mumbled knowing it was a bad idea but he knew he was going to do it anyway because you had asked him and he didn’t want to hurt you again.
It was another 2 weeks before you could actually face Bucky in his office. You wore a skirt and crop top, makeup on and hair styled just the way he liked it, showing him what he was missing by being a jerk. You had to steady yourself with a bit of dutch courage before you went in, not anything to get you tipsy but a shot of whisky wasn’t going to hurt. You gripped the sheet he needed to sign in your hand and knocked on the door harshly, sucking your breath in when his voice spoke to come in.
“Professor Barnes.” You nodded, taking a seat opposite him, placing the sheet on his desk and not looking into his eyes.
“Y/N, come on. Look at me.” He mumbled, pleading with you.
“Mr Barnes, please just sign the sheet.” You demanded.
“No.”
“What?” You asked looking at him.
“I said no.” He crossed his arms.
“Bucky, just sign the fucking form so we can get this over with.” You shouted at him.
“Y/N this is your dream class, you’re not dropping it.”
“It’s not a dream class if you’re the one fucking teaching it.”
“Y/N I miss you.”
“You broke my heart.” You shouted at him, standing up and pacing around his office agitated.
“And you think I didn’t shatter mine? I’m your professor Y/N. This is forbidden.” He pointed between the two of you.
“So why didn’t you just say that?” You asked him angrily.
“Because I didn’t know what to do. I love you so much and it scares me. But this was my first stable job since the army and I didn’t want to lose it.”
“So you chucked me away instead? You didn’t love me Bucky don’t make me laugh. You used me.” You chuckled dryly.
“You’re not dropping this class Y/N.”
“I can’t take this class when you’re the one teaching.”
“I’m dropping this class.”
“What?” You asked, finally looking into his eyes.
“I love you. I want you to be happy. I want to be with you. I can’t do any of that if I’m your professor.”
“But this is your dream job.”
“This is your dream class and you’re my dream girl. I refuse to give you up for my happiness.”
“You already did.” You mumbled as you walked out of his office, making sure to slam the door behind you and shutting him out of your life forever.

ok so I finished my 3000 word report about an hour ago and uploaded it to the course site. y’all i think i’ve finally learnt my lesson in regards to procrastinating my assignments till the last minute. i don’t want to go through that again. bc that was an awful behemoth lmao. here’s to breaking down my assignments into manageable 500 word chunks when writing. instead of trying to churn out 1,000-2,000 words in 8 hours or 3,000 in about 16 hours. i started work (minus a 3 hour or so break in the middle) at 5:30am today. to get it in by 2:50pm about 2 hours (really) before the deadline. I worked up until 11:30pm or whatever bc I knew any time after that, anything and everything I wrote would absolute fucking garbage. and those tables that i bitchdd about making were murder. they were like 60% of my assignment bc they were 1,500 words of just library catalogue items from the fake library my professor gave us for the assignment and the local one i did... which turned into 16 pages of two tables.
learn to plan your assignments out into manageable chunks. this is why i’d throw up at the end of some 8hour 2,000 word essay crunches right before the deadline/right after the deadlines, during undergrad. that didn’t happen to me today, thank god. but i’m pretty sure me throwing up my brekkie the other day was a warning about the stress/anxiety i put myself under in these situations. I also barely slept last night. i woke up at 3am (after going to bed at like midnight or something like that) and couldn’t get back to sleep properly so i just kept like stopping and starting sleep. until i was like “fuck it i’ll just get up now and do my assignment” at like 5am.
so all in all, if you’re at uni, look after yourselves when youre cramming assignments or frequently procrastinating them until the night before/the day of, right up until the deadline. don’t try and churn out huge chunks of writing all at once (like i always aim to get 1,000 words down in a few hours.... sometimes without breaks to eat, until my dads like “are you sure you don’t need food?”) bc it becomes too burdensome and horrible to think about. just do 500 words and walk away. work at your assignments gradually. remember to sleep properly and eat properly while doing assignments to. and most of all, try and get some exercise in there as well. clear your mind.
#life#about me#shut up ilona#ilona tries to give advice#uni#uni life#and remember to shower at some stage of writing as well lmao#the last minute queen has been defeated

This right here. I have been staring at MQ2 (The second book the the 'Masters Quest' series. Masters Quest 2. Incidentally, this book is called 'the second cycle', something that will be a fun Easter egg for those who read all 8 books... anyway) for the past month, not being able to bring myself to type a single word.
Sometimes I felt ... not great about that fact. But I've seen myself write like crazy some days, so I try to let myself know that productive days will come just as surely as unproductive days.
Occasionally I will come up with a few details to throw into the outline to include later. Sometimes I come up with major story beats. Other times I might only get a cool line or a quote that I want to use.
The thing is, all of it matters. I tend to use 95-99+ percent of the stuff in my outline in the actual book. I don’t throw a lot of my ideas away. The few that don't get used, end up in other projects.
Anyway, the point is, sometimes all I write is a phrase. But, importantly, the book is improved by the inclusion of that phrase! Those 5 words I made on that one day are just as important as the 3000 that I wrote another day. And I may not have come up with them if I was trying to make every day a 3000 word day. Or I wouldn't appreciate those 5 words and their contribution to my complete project. They wouldn't make or break the book, but they do add SOMETHING.
And on the days where I didn't write anything, it's worth it to appreciate mental health days, and take a break once in a while, and let your mind exercise on other things. It's good to be good at other things too. Pay your bills, wash your dishes, talk to your kids, make out with your spouse, have a movie night. It would be nice if every day I could pump out 15,000 words and have them be high quality, exciting content. But that's not the brain or the inspiration or motivation or even the typing speed I was given.
So sometimes I have to be happy with 500 words. Sometimes I get a hundred. Sometimes I get 5,000. Sometimes I finish a book and get to see it actually get published!
Writing is, for a lot of us, not 9-5. You can't turn inspiration and motivation on like a switch. Sometimes an idea hits you at 3am, sometimes in the middle of making dinner, sometimes in the shower; and when you're lucky, it hits right when you sit down at your computer. I wouldn't count on that last one happening often though. Just have your computer or phone nearby, explain to your loved ones that you may disappear into a writing hole at any moment, and try to be ready whenever the time does come.
Either way, just enjoy your process. There's plenty of jobs to do that you'll hate. Do writing because you love it! 💘
I'm sorry if this is an odd think to ask to a published writer, but how do you stay motivated during bad mental health days?
Well, the short answer is I don't.
For me, a big part of finding the wherewithal to get any writing done has been accepting that I can't ever "overcome" my disabilities through hard work and self-discipline (or other lies that the ableds made up to sell us day planners) and planning things accordingly. I try looking at it as an issue of accommodation; I built myself a sensory-friendly work space where I can be alone, I never commit to deadlines I know I'm not going to meet, and when I have bad days and can't get any work done I try to accept them as a fact of life instead of feeling guilty about them. Once I got to that place, things got a lot easier.
Getting there can be a hell of a journey--I've been doing this since I was 12 and I only put out my first book last year, and there's a huge emphasis on "try to" in that last point--but I figured something out and I'm a complete jackass so I'm sure there's hope for everyone.
Also I feel like I'm more fortunate than a lot of ND writers in that I've never had to struggle w/ attention deficits, but there's a post around here someplace that @thebibliosphere left some excellent commentary on regarding that problem specifically; I'll see if I can't find it

Promptis Week: Day 1: Day 1: Realization- the moment they knew it was love / Ten Years Later This took me FOREVER to write. I really didn’t expect for it to be this long. I really didn’t. But, here it is, written and edited to the best of my ability. It has been forever since I written a fanfiction. I hope you enjoy! (And please spare me!)
Notes: This is a AU, Noct and Prompto are in college. Iggy and Gladio own a coffee shop. Noct’s not a prince and there is no pain in this world. *Breathes in* I need them to all be happy, okay? Also, Prompto is the one that realizes he’s in love. There is a purpose for that, that will be revealed in the upcoming days. And yes, everything will be connected.

He’s Falling in Love Now… (Realization)
Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!
Prompto whined loudly, how could it possibly be 8AM already? He just laid down for a little shut eye. Maybe his alarm clock was broken and was lying to him now. Prompto opened his eyes halfway and glanced at his alarm clock. It was blurry but he made out the time, 8:03AM.
He whined louder and buried his face in his pillow, “Nooo! I wanna sleep. Let me sleep!” He slammed the snooze button down.
Granted, not getting enough sleep was his own fault. A ten-page essay for his art appreciation class was due today by 12PM and he only had it half finished. He managed to finish the assignment that morning, around 4AM. He had weeks, 3 weeks to be precise, to finish the essay, but he continuously put it off. Blame procrastination or the lack of motivation, or maybe the fact that Street Fighting Kings II had come out a week after the assignment was given. Either way, it just wasn’t done and now it was.
Prompto slowly rose up from his warm, comfy, rollaway bed and dragged himself towards the bathroom, “I’ll brush my teeth, take a quick, cold shower and get some coffee.”
Coffee. That’s what he needed. He needed a least two, strong, large cups of coffee and a chocolate frosted doughnut with sprinkles. He wasn’t going to be able to make it if he didn’t get coffee and doughnut.
He staggered into the bathroom and flipped on the light, he rubbed his face with both his hands as though he was trying to wipe off his sleepiness. Prompto looked into the mirror and nearly jumped at his reflection he could see. He looked like a zombie. His eyes were bloodshot, dark circles were underneath his eyes. Strands of blond hair stood up everywhere.
“Okay. First things first. Contacts. Can’t see shit without those.” he mumbled, picking up the chocobo adorned contact storage case.
He popped the small storage case opened, and pressed his index finger to the right lens, “Okay, here we g- no!” The small lens fell off the blonde's finger and down his sink drain. Prompto closed his eyes, this couldn’t be happening. This seriously could not be happening.
One of his 500 gil contact lenses fell down the drain. Yeah, that wasn’t a lot to some people, but to him, a college student that was barely able to pay rent every month, it was a lot. Prompto threw his hands up, “Oh well! Didn’t need to see anyway! Way to go, Prompto.” He sighed aloud. “I guess I can just wear my glasses.”
He picked up his toothbrush and turned the faucet knobs… Nothing. He tried turning it again. Again, nothing. His water bill, he knew it was, they had sent him the notice just a couple weeks ago. He guessed they couldn’t wait for their payment till he got paid tomorrow.
Prompto tossed his toothbrush on the counter, “Guess, I’m just getting coffee. That’s only thing that can possibly turn this day around.”
He was not only exhausted but now dirty. Well, at least he felt dirty. Luckily, he didn’t smell. He had taken a shower last night when the water had still been on. But his face felt gross, and his teeth felt grimy. Chewing gum wasn’t helping them feel any cleaner either.
“Just think positive things, Prom. It’s going to be fine.” Prompto encouraged himself as he pushed the thick, red rimmed glasses up onto his nose. “You have three classes today, and then the evening shift at your job, and then you can go home and sleep!”
He nodded. Things weren’t so bad when he thought about it, it was just a rocky morning. He couldn’t let such minor things ruin the rest of his day, “You can save for more contact lenses, and in the meantime, you can wear these glasses. No biggie!” he adjusted his glasses again. “It’s not like they look bad on me! Then, of course, I can pay my water bill in the morning! It’s all good!”
Prompto walked with a little more liveliness in his steps. He got closer to the small coffee shop, conveniently located right by his campus. He could smell the freshly brewed coffee from here, “Ah, Scholar’s Brew, my pick-me-up since my freshman year!”
Prompto jogged the rest of the way there, pushing open the double doors and bounding in. He inhaled deeply and exhaled, nothing beat the smell of coffee in the morning. He looked around the shop and it wasn’t too busy right now either. Perfect.
“Yo, Prompto,” said the big guy behind the counter. “The usual?”
“Sup, Gladio!” Prompto greeted as he approached the counter, “Actually, instead of one cappuccino I need at least two. One for here and one to go. Venti. Extra espresso.”
“What the hel- Two, with extra espresso? Man, you’ll be bouncing off the walls all day!” he exclaimed. “Were you up late again last night playing video games or somethin’?”
“Ten-page essay. I totally procrastinated on it.” Prompto rubbed the back of his neck. Gladiolus’ laughter filled the small shop.
“That’s what ya get, ya know?” Gladiolus boomed. “I told ya not to get that game till you were done with it, but no, you just had to have.”
“Come on man, cut me some slack. It’s the only joy I have in life.”
“Only joy? Oh geez, you’ve made it very clear to me that you have never gone on a date or had a girlfriend if a video game is your ‘only joy’.”
Prompto flushed in embarrassment, he was so lucky that there was hardly anyone in here. If there were more than just an elderly couple and a woman and her children here he would have been ten times more embarrassed, “I just.... haven’t found the right person yet.” Prompto insisted, crossing his arms. “No one has really… caught my eye. Trust me! I’m a love expert!”
“Uh-huh, sure. Anything to go with your coffee?”
“I am!” Prompto protested, before turning and heading over to his usual table by the window. “I’ll have a chocolate frosted doughnut with sprinkles, please and thanks, Gladi.”
“Yep, should be out in a few!” Gladiolus informed. “Iggy, we need two Venti cappuccinos, extra espresso! One for here, one to go! And a chocolate doughnut with sprinkles!”
The blonde sat down, setting his backpack down on the floor next to his feet. He gently hummed and tapped his fingers against the tabletop as he patiently awaited his order, “Two venti cappuccinos with extra espresso? Plus, a sugary doughnut?” a voice questioned behind him. “Are you trying to crash and burn?”
Prompto blinked and then looked behind him, “Yeah, well that’s what happens when-” He paused when he really got a look at the guy that dare question his coffee motives. He was handsome, very handsome. Smooth, pale skin, dark spiky hair that was perfectly styled, a pair of beautiful, dark stormy eyes that seemed to illuminate behind his dark bangs. In his ears, he had the graduate lobe piercing going on. Six glimmering, dark studs of various sizes adorned them.
When had this guy gotten there? Prompto swallowed hard, he hadn’t been there before, had he? He’s sure he would’ve noticed him when he walked in. Prompto cleared his throat and continued, “When you have a late night.”
The beautiful stranger cocked his head, “Lemme’ guess, you were up till about... 3AM working on a project that’s due today. Reason? You kept putting it off.”
He rose a brow, it was scary how close he was to being accurate, “It was 4AM, thank you, and it was a ten-page essay.”
“I was close,” he replied. “I was off an hour and an essay is considered a project, dude.”
Prompto opened his mouth, then closed it. He wasn’t entirely wrong. An essay was “technically” a writing project. He turned away from the dark haired stranger and rested his chin in the palm of his hand. He wasn’t going to discuss with a stranger a matter that knew nothing about it. He didn’t know him from the gods.
“I’m going to elaborate on why you put off your essay, chocobutt. Street Fighting Kings II came out and,” the stranger paused. Prompto’s ears perked up, he didn’t know whether it was because he called him ‘chocobutt’ or because he had mentioned SFKII. “You put in hours of gameplay trying to perfect the combos of new and old characters in the game.”
Prompto swiftly turned around, “You overheard my conversation with Gladio! That’s how you know all this!”
He raised his hands in defense, “All I heard was the order that you placed.” he said. “I was probably in the bathroom when your conversation with ol’ Gladi went down.”
“Are you… some kind of mage or something then?” Prompto questioned, leaning forward towards his direction. “How did you know?”
“You know how badass that would be if I was?” the stranger asked, leaning forward as well. “I’d be a Time Mage, hands down.”
Time Mage? Prompto couldn’t help but scoff, “Really, dude? Out of all the types of mages you picked the Time Mage?”
“What’s wrong with Time Mages? They can alter reality. They can use slow, haste, warp, and gravity.” the stranger argued. “Just imagine all the conveniences of being a lord of time!”
“Eh, it doesn’t have that many conveniences.” Prompto shrugged. “If you want convenience, Summoner is the way to go.”
“Summoner? How is being a Summoner, in any way, have conveniences?” the dark haired boy turned his body towards him. “You think having an overgrown pet by your side whenever you want is convenient?”
“Dude, instead of “warping” to wherever you running late to, you ride on the back of Valefor and soar through the clouds!” Prompto beamed. “Or you could summon an adorable chocobo to get you where you need to go!”
“You like chocobos?”
“I love chocobos. They’re my favorite creature in the world!”
The stranger looked down and let out a small laugh, “Oh no wonder the front of your hair looks like a chocobo’s butt then.”
Prompto touched the front of his hair and then frowned, “My hair does not look like a chocobo’s butt!” He shook his head. “We’re off topic! How’d you know all that about me? With my essay and all?”
The stranger chuckled, which made the boy’s heart flutter a bit, “Observation.” he simply answered. “How I know you were up late; you look practically dead and you ordered two large cups of coffee.”
Prompto fidgeted with his glasses, “Well, I guess that was simple enough. What about my procrastination purpose, Mr. Observation? How did you know about SFKII?”
The other boy got up, flung his backpack on his shoulder, and made his way to his table. His boots clunked against the tile floors as he approached, “Mmm, well,” he said, stopping at his table. “I saw you have the limited edition SFKII pin on your backpack, I have it too. So, I know you have the game.”
Prompto held his breath, this guy was even more handsome close-up. And oh gods he smelled so freaking nice!
“If I’ve been putting off homework because of that game, I know you are too.” He tapped his knuckles on his table. “Well, see you chocobutt. Hope you get through your day alright.”
“M-my hair does not look like a chocobo’s butt.” he protested again.
The stranger flashed him a smile, (and when he did, Prompto swore his heart skipped a beat or two.) and started on his way again.
Prompto blinked, trying as hard as he possibly could to peel his eyes away from him. Though, it was futile. He watched as he paid Gladiolus, as he said goodbye, as he walked out the door, and as he walked down the sidewalk… well, that was up until he looked over at him and smiled at him again. That was when he was able to take his eyes off of him and quickly look in the other direction, Oh gods, he saw me staring at him! He’s gotta think I’m weird. He pressed his lips together. Wait, why am I freaking out like this?
“Here you are, Prompto. Two venti cappuccinos and a doughnut as you requested.” Ignis placed his coffees and doughnut on the table. “Are you sure you don’t want anything with, say, nutritional value?”
Prompto was in a daze, he could feel his cheeks burning and his heart thumping a mile a minute. He had heard Ignis, but didn’t hear him. “He was so cool,” he muttered to himself.
“What was that?” Ignis asked in a puzzled tone. “Are you feeling alright? Your face is bright pink. Do you need a drink of ice water?”
“Water? Hmm, yeah, it is a little warm in here isn’t?” Prompto said slowly. “Yeah, water would be nice.”
“Right away.”
“Thanks.”
For the rest of the day, even with coffee in his system, (it was practically running through his veins once he had finished the second cup) Prompto felt out of it.
“When will this feeling go away?” He shut his apartment door, pressing his back against it. “After that encounter with that guy, I’ve been feeling different. My chest is warm and I feel like something is floating around my stomach.”
He shrugged off his backpack and let it fall at his feet, “Maybe it’s because I’m tired and hungry. Moreso tired.”
He kicked off his boots and, went straight to his bed. (It had been calling his name since he left his apartment) The blonde flopped onto his bed, burying his face in his pillow. He sighed contently, “Time for some shut-eye…” He stretched himself across his mattress, “The best part? I get to sleep in!”
Prompto closed his eyes, but his mind, as it had all day, wandered back to that guy that he encountered at the coffee shop. He sighed aloud, laying on his back and ran his down his hands down his face, “Why am I acting like this?”
He opened his eyes and stared up at the ceiling. He didn’t know why he kept thinking about him or why he kept wondering why he didn’t ask for his name. He wasn’t sure why his smile was engraved in his mind or why he was praying silently to the gods throughout the day that he would get to see him again soon.
Prompto’s eyes grew wide. “Wait... am I?!” He quickly sat up, he could feel heat spreading across his cheeks. It was all making sense to him now. The fluttering in his stomach was known as butterflies and the warmth in his chest… that was…
“But, that’s crazy. Something like that can’t happen in real life. There’s no such thing as love at first sight, right? Right?” Prompto covered his face with his hands. “I can’t have fallen in love so quickly...”
Though, what else could this possibly be? He was sure it wasn’t merely a crush or infatuation. He had crushes, thousands and upon thousands, and none of them felt like this. This one was different. (A good different.)
He to make sure though. He needed a second opinion. He needed to see him again.
Prompto ran to Scholar’s Brew the next morning (being a runner, he was at the little coffee shop in no time at all). His heart was full of excitement and his mind was filled with all kinds of scenarios of what could happen. But, when he got there he began to think of the things that may not happen. He thought of all the worst case scenarios, mainly the biggest worst case scenario; him not showing up.
He had to have been pacing and fidgeting with the skull ring on his finger for at least ten minutes. It was only until Gladio called him out when he stopped his nervous behavior, “Gods Prompto, are you going to come in or stay out there and pace all day?!”
“I was coming in, I just… thinking!”
“You think? I didn’t know you did that.” Gladiolus grabbed him by the back of his red flannel shirt and dragged him in. “Get your ass in here, Iggy already made you coffee. He said that you shouldn’t let it get cold.”
“Hey, hey, don’t drag me!” Prompto exclaimed, practically falling in the doors. “Lemme’ go, Gladi!”
Gladiolus let him go and once Prompto was released, his head instantly turned in the direction of the beanbag chair where he had met the nameless, mystery man. But, his stomach sank when he saw he wasn’t there. Maybe he just isn’t here yet.
Prompto pressed his lips and sat at his usual table. He picked up his freshly brewed coffee and took a sip. Yeah, don’t jump to conclusions. There’s still a chance I’ll get to maybe see him.
“Hey, what’s with that look? The coffee bitter or somethin’?” Gladiolus cocked a brow.
“My coffee? Bitter? Preposterous!” Ignis exclaimed from the kitchen.
“No, the coffee’s great as usual, Ig!” he trailed off. “Just great…!”
Gladio folded his arms, “Ya know what you’re going through is really none of my business. But, if you need to talk, I’m willing to listen.”
Prompto was hesitant for a moment, but then figured, why not? What did he have to lose? He had no one else to talk about his situation with anyway. He picked up his coffee and took a seat at the bar. He took in a deep breath and looked at Gladio, “Remember when I said video games were my only joy in life, yesterday?”
“Mm, yeah, why?”
“Well, I think I may have a bigger and greater joy now.” Prompto took in another deep breath and whispered loudly. “I think I’ve fallen in love.”
“In love? What? When? With whom?” Ignis questioned coming from around the corner, looking quite curious.
Gladiolus chuckled, “Didn’t know you were listenin’ in, Iggs.”
“I wasn’t, just merely caught ear of it.” Ignis turned his attention from Gladiolus to Prompto. “Come now, Prompto. Who’s the girl? How recently did you meet her?”
Prompto took a big gulp of his coffee, then let out a nervous laugh, “Yeah, we met yesterday and… who said anything about it being a girl?”
“Oh, so you swing both ways, huh?” Gladiolus nodded in understanding. “Well, then let’s rephrase that. Who’s the guy?”
“I don’t know,” Prompto admitted with eyes casting downward. “I met him here yesterday, and I didn’t catch his name.”
Gladiolus and Ignis looked at him for a moment and then at each other. Ignis spoke up first, “Could it be who we are both thinking of?”
“Hasta’ be! I did see them talkin’ yesterday.”
The two older men looked back at him and unison said, “Noct.”
“Noct?” Prompto repeated.
“Yes. Well, his full name is, Noctis. Gladiolus and I have known him since we kids.” Ignis explained. “He lived here in Lucis most his life but moved to Altissia for a while due to his father’s work. He just recently came back for college. Not sure why he didn’t come back his freshman year.”
“Yeah, he came back… almost a month ago?” Gladiolus looked puzzledly at Prompto. “Surprised you two haven’t met till now, you both go to the same University, and hang around here.”
Prompto thought about it a moment. It was a little strange, he practically knew everyone or at least their faces. He was sure as hell he’d remember a face like Noct’s.
“Noct does go to the private side of IU. Prompto probably goes to the normal side.” Ignis rubbed his chin. “You know, that would explain his behavior change and flushed face when he left yesterday.”
“Well, speak of the devil. Guess we’re going to find out if he’s a love stricken pup or not right now.”
Prompto felt his heart leap into his throat, he peered out the front door behind him. It was him, Noctis. He looked as good as yesterday, no actually… he looked more handsome. Was that even possible, to get handsome in one day? He looked away, feeling his cheeks grow warm.
“G’morning Gladio, specs.” Noctis greeted as he entered the shop.
“Morning.” the two reply.
Prompto suddenly felt Noctis’ eyes on him. He took a large gulp of his coffee as if it were going to calm his fried nerves.
“Morning, chocobutt.” Maybe it’s just him, but Prompto swears Noctis greeted him in a more gentler way.
“Good morning, stranger.” Prompto manages to get out, turning towards him.
“Noctis, don’t be rude,” Ignis scolded. Prompto actually doesn’t mind the nickname all that much, it’s starting to grow on him. “Noctis, this is Prompto. Prompto, this is Noctis.”
Noctis smiled and extended out one of his hands, “Nice to meet you, Prompto.”
Prompto found himself smiling back, “Likewise.” he replied, taking Noctis’ hand in his.
In that very moment that he took his hand, everything felt like it… clicked. There was no doubt in his mind now; he really had fallen in love. As crazy and far-fetched as it seemed, he was already crazy about Noct. He was someone he wanted to be with, he wanted to learn about, to explore with, to hug, to kiss, to cherish. He didn’t want to ever let go of his hand.
“Yeah, it’s obvious,” Gladiolus said to Ignis.
“Quite,” Ignis agreed, with a nod of his head. “This shall be interesting.”

"Are we really just friends, then?"
"Do you want me to leave?"

"What did you say?"
"I'm not jealous, why would you say that?"
"Why are you smiling so much today?"
"You're jealous, aren't you?"
"They were just a friend, okay? Nothing more."
"When you said you loved me, I thought it was going to be forever."
"I'm sorry I called you at 3AM. I needed you."
"Maybe I was wrong. I don't need you in my life."
"We can't keep doing this."
"I don't want to be your secret, anymore."
"I have the right to know what's going on!"
"I might have had a few shots."
"Are you sure this is legal?"
"Isn't this amazing?"
"I'm going to take care of you, okay?"
"I don't need your sympathy."
"I'll miss you when you leave."
"You have to believe me."
"I'm a monster."
"You shouldn't love me."
"Stay the night. Please."
"You can't die. Please don't die."
"Run away with me."
"It's about the baby. It's yours."
"I wish this could last forever, don't you?"
#r shitposts#mystic messenger#samurai love ballad party#slbp#mysme#my diction is generally pretty formal with this blog but it's 1am and i am frustrated

Well, I didn’t get much more of my current epic done for various reasons, one of which was an obnoxious series of plot points that were poking me in the back of my brain until I wrote them down.
Long story short, I only got about 500 words of HTLGI written tonight, but I wrote a full three page outline for the Ardyn origins fic. Why am I like this? I don’t know. *sigh*
I need to let it sit a day or two so I can finish rereading wikipedia pages and cross-referencing stuff with various game theories, but.... it’s really solid, like, surprisingly so, like, the last time I had something this concrete was when I was plotting HTLGI, so I’m excited!
I’m also pushing 3am on a work night. -__- HOWEVER, I’m posting this in case any of my followers are reaaaaally up to date on FFXV lore and would be able to/interested in giving it a quick read to see if it makes sense? I’m not planning to start writing it for another month or two, but it needs to start relatively soon so I can be done by the time Ardyn’s DLC comes out next winter.
Anyway.... yay writing advancement?
#writing stuff#updates#I'm getting some help with the pacing tomorrow so hopefully that will break the rut and I can finish this weekend#then all I'll have left will be the epilogue(s)

Cebu x Siargao, P H I L I P P I N E S 🗾🇵🇭
Hi! I want to start this first by introducing myself. I am Anna Balino, Filipina, 22 y/o from Laguna. ♥️
I was born in the PH and I grew up in Russia. I started to shoot using a rifle at an early age of eight. Lol! Just kidding. I was born in the PH and I started travelling year 2014. Though I grew up and used to travel with my family when I was a kid up until my teenage years. Given the fact that I was still a kid back then I don’t appreciate the nature’s beauty because I was too busy complaining and being a brat. Yes, I remember getting amazed at how huge or vast the ocean and the mountain is but after a few seconds of staring at it I’ll be back to my usual self. Unlike now, I can stare at it 24 hours day and night without a budge! 👁️
I am a BEACH PERSON! 🏊 Everyone who knows me personally knew that. I love laying in the sand. I love watching the waves tumbling with each other. I love floating in the water. I love listening to the waves because it soothes me. I love sun bathing and just staring at yellow bright sun. ♥️♥️♥️
And since I am a beach person.. let me share to you my Cebu x Siargao Trip that lasted for 10 days! (Yes, I know what y'all thinking. Of course! I do have a work! Ever heard of a word “LEAVE”? I filed for it one month prior to my leave.)
🎫 T I C K E T We booked it at Travel Fair last February 04, 2017 at SMX MOA under the booth of Philippine Airlines. Two way ticket (MNL-CEBU-SURIGAO) cost us ₱4600 for two person so basically it costs us ₱2300 each without return ticket to MNL. We decided not to book yet our return ticket to MNL since we’re a bit short of money.
⏩Fastforward to March.. So by the end week of March I received a text from Philippine Airlines saying that our flight is rescheduled which is two hours later than our original sched. So I thought “Okay, we can adjust for that. It’s just two hours.” But right after that there is a second message saying “½ FLIGHT ___ bound to Surigao City is cancelled. FLIGHT __ is now bound to Butuan City” 😮😲
I am speechless for a minute. And then I freaked out. I said “No freaking way. It can’t be. Rescheduling is already an inconvenience but rerouting it??? That’s inhumane!” Okay I am exaggerating it. But it can’t be. Really. I immediately contacted PAL and they told me that if I’m not amenable with the flight changes they can rebook my flight on my desired date and location or just refund the money. I chose the latter part because we cannot change our location nor choose other date. My boyfriend and I rushed to the nearest PAL ticketing office which is in Filinvest Alabang and refund the Cebu-Surigao ticket. But the lady told us that we cannot refund the ticket not unless we cancel both flights which is the MNL-CEBU-SURIGAO. So we ended up wasting our time going to Travel Fair and lining in the long queue since all our tickets will be refunded!!! We just refunded the money and decided to book our ticket to Cebu Pacific which I think is WAAAAAAY better and WAAAAAY more convenient because we got our Cebu-Siargao for ₱799 each and this is directly to our destination. We don’t need to ride a ferry or a boat since the flight is direct to Siargao. As you have noticed earlier what we booked at PAL is Cebu-Surigao because PAL don’t cater/offer flights direct to Siargao. So our two way ticket(Mnl-Cebu-Siargao) in Cebu Pacific cost us ₱4798.
Day 1️⃣ June 25 ( C E B U )
Our flight bound to Cebu departs at 12:50 AM and arrived at Mactan International Airport at 2:10 AM. Since we arrived late at Cebu we hadn’t had the chance to choose where to stay. So I just looked where to stay online and I discover the Sugbutel Hotel. They are offering different kinds of rooms.

R A T E S A R E I N C L U S I V E O F B R E A K F A S T
We supposed to get the Business Class ( Dorm Room ) but we have learned that it isn’t a mix one. So we just decided to get the cheapest Standard room that cost us Php 1450 for a night. It’s not bad because the room is good and clean. From linens to floor. Aircon is super cold and that is a plus for me because aircon is life lol. Shower room has a heater so you don’t get to be lazy to take a bath.
So we just decided to take a little rest because we just got off from work before our flight.
Day 1.2 JUNE 25 ( C E B U )
So technically it’s still our Day 1 right? 😂 We woke up at 8:00 since the hotel will only serve breakfast from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM. After breakfast we took a shower and checked-out.
We wasn’t able to do something productive on our first day since I’m still waiting for my cash to comes in. I don’t want my boyfriend to handle all the tour expenses because he is already the one paying for my accommodation, foods and transpo. So I insisted to not do anything that day though I really want to do the city tour. We just roamed around SM Cebu. We decided to look for a place to stay at 3:00 PM. We grabbed a taxi and told the driver to drop us at Tr3ats Cebu. We left our luggage at our room then went to Emporium Cebu to buy some stuff that we can use. There’s a lot of stuff to buy there. You can buy bikinis, shades, turbans, shoes or your “pang-ootd” There’s a lot to choose from and it’s ALL trendy and pretty.
ACCOMMODATION AT TR3ATS
You wouldn’t believe it but our accommodation at Tr3ats is only ₱350/head/night and that is a pretty nice deal! That is btw a dorm room and a mixed one. Meaning we have other people in our room
They have Female/Male dorm room though. So if you’re not comfortable staying with other people you can just get a private one. We ate our dinner at the eatery across the Tr3ats. I am telling you, the food is INCREDIBLE! It’s IHAWAN by the way. They have fish, chicken and pork. They only sell rice for ₱3.00 each and they call it PU-SO. It’s not the typical rice though. It is covered in dahon ng saging and it’s a bit hard to eat but I chose to ignore that because the food is fucking delicious. Especially the chicken! Our dinner is only ₱224 for two people
DAY 2️⃣ Second day! Yay! I was very excited because we’re about to do the City and Mountain Tour. We meet with our habal-habal drivers around 9AM.
City Tour and Mountain Tour 🔹 S I R A O G A R D E N ENTRANCE FEE : ₱50 🔹 T O P S - ENTRANCE FEE : ₱100 🔹 T E M P L E O F L E A H ENTRANCE FEE: ₱50 🔹 Taoist Temple 🔹 Y A P - S A N T I A G O Ancestral House - ENTRANCE FEE : ₱50 🔹 Heritage Park 🔹 Magellan’s Shrine 🔹 Basilica Del Sto Niño 🔹 Fort San Pedro ENTRANCE FEE : ₱30
We got this tour for ₱900 each and that’s a bit expensive considering their Standard Tour Price for this is ₱600. Yah, I know! I’m such an idiot for not searching about it sooner. Because I was too busy looking for the best beaches around Cebu that I forgot to search for the standard prices of tour in Cebu.
DAY 3️⃣
Another day wasted 😖
We’re supposed to have a two day one night side trip in Siquijor on our third day but because of circumstances our plan changed. Remember when I told you that I’m still waiting for may cash to comes in? Well, it didn’t. I mean, yes it did but not on the right time that I was expecting it. It was supposed to be deposited by 2am or 3am in the morning and we should be leaving Cebu by that time. My money comes in around 10 in the morning. That’s why it’s another day wasted. I was pissed off because our plan doesn’t go the way we planned it. I’ll fckng kill someone for Siquijor. It’s majestic and I didn’t get to see it 😖 I feel so bad.
But my mood won’t help me with anything. So we just packed our bag and meet our friends in SM Cebu. By afternoon we started our journey to South Cebu! ♥️
We took a bus at South Bus Station bound to Oslob ( Gate 8) Fare is ₱177 each. We arrived at Oslob at 11PM. We stayed at CASA BONITA. Family room is for ₱2000 since we are a group of four person. We only paid ₱500 each for one night stay. They also have dorm room for ₱500/ head ( Airconditioned )
I am so drained that night that I decided to take a shower then call it a night. We need to wake up super early tmro.
DAY 4️⃣ The INN arranged the tour for us. Whaleshark Watching - Php 550 ( with transpo ) Canyoneering - 1950 ( With transpo, lunch and gears)
We woke up at 4:45AM. Since we already took a shower before we sleep we just changed our clothes. We are ready by 5:30AM. By the time we got out of our room our service is already there and waiting. We went directly to TUKI. We had a quick briefing about the DO’s and DONT’s while watching the whaleshark. Don’t worry, I know you’re excited but there’s a reason why I called it quick. It will be less than 10 minutes. Just be reminded, to listen and obey the rules. The boat will just bring you where the whalesharks is.
C a n y o n e e r i n g
We are done watching the whaleshark by 6:45AM we went back to our resort and ate breakfast. We are ready to leave by 8:15 for our canyoneering activity. Let me tell you, it is a pretty long drive. 1 hour and 45 minute drive. But don’t worry the view is scenic.
We arrived at the venue at 10:45AM. Started the adventure by 11AM. So this is it!
We finished ours at quarter to 4. We had our lunch by 3PM. They served us delicious adobo, pancit, rice, and sinigang na baboy.
