so my version of the au did not originate in the sims, its sorta its own au of an au which you know already im just stating this for anyone else. There are also two different versions. theres the atb sims pilot that was never picked up, and then the atb sims reboot. Theyre like this because the pilot was on my shitty laptop, i didnt have as many mods nor cc, as well as packs either. the reboot is more beefed, its on my better pc, more mods/cc, a lot of the packs. Tobio hasnt even been born yet in my reboot save file and ive been playing it for 2 years i think. Im too lazy to update my game rn bc of the fact i have so much shit lol anyway time to talk abt each of them Pilot: this was way back in 2019 i think and it was honestly no substance other than i just wanted to play umataro and hiroshi and have them get married have a family. i dont have all the screenshots bc theyre on my laptop which is busted and not worth trying to turn on. but when tobio was born he had hiroshi's blonde hair and i decided to keep it, so the pilot is also known as blonde tobio au lol. tobio took on hobbies such as the violin, much like how his dad plays piano. atom and uran were eventually born too but my laptop was dying before they could have their birthdays (also my laptop DEFINITELY could not run any good, crisp graphics so everything looks gross and shitty) 1. hiroshi & tobio 2. i had tobio going thru a little bit of an emo phase, but i kept the blonde hair lol. i even built them this big ass awful house tht took forever (but i was proud of in the moment) but my laptop could BARELY run it, and then not long after my laptop started dying lol.

The Reboot: ah yes. better pc, better graphics, more mods, and cc this is finally the reboot. ive been playing this save file for multiple years now. its more fleshed out, more attention to detail. Motoko did make an appearance in the original pilot, but here she has more of story, I also spent time actually building lab 7, which is where the save file started. The reason I rebooted the atb sims is because I had gotten the university dlc which I thoguht Oh this is perfect bc it also adds robots so a106 made an appearance, and as i got more packs, i added more characters for instance I made tom when I got cats & dogs.

I have more of a story planned for the reboot, but specifically for tobio, I want him to grow up on a little bit of some farm, as I intend on hoshie to be good at gardening. Now my hoshie for my sims save is the OG once upon a time hoshie, not ATB hoshie. anyway tobio will grow up with chickens and I intend to have hiroshi be his godfather (to eventual step father) and like im excited to play more sims i just hate updating the game. my next goal for the save file is to update hiroshi's side of the family since the story has advanced but his family is. stagnant/still in the past. my idea for tobio is for him to still be a loner but to have more family. I also intend on having atom and uran be his younger half siblings (pretend theyre robots)

in my last play session i had motoko take her kids and her friends on a vacation. im tryinnnnnggggggg ot get hoshie and tenma to know each other more and am hoping after the vacation that i can push even further for tobio to finally make his way into the save

oh forgot!!! to mention1!! i also want reno in this save file buit i cant bring him in until tobio is born (hiroshi is gonna foster to adopt him)

why are you defending cyberpunk so much? its a really buggy mess, it barely works on even some of the best pcs, they lied when they advertised it working on the ps5 but not ps4, and there were a ton of issues even before release happening with their social media team

my point is that people pick and choose when they wanna throw their arms up over the standard that is AAA gaming releases, and has been since prooooobably da2′s release (14 months to produce and release a game). maybe even earlier if you consider kotor2′s release (aka, given 11 months to make a game).

my point is that fallout 76 was an unplayable, game breaking, exploitative game riddled with many of the same issues. and i dont know anyone who continues to play it to this day but i know faaaaaar more people who refunded it or cancelled their orders just prior to launch because they didn’t want to brick their consoles.

my point is that one of the biggest blowbacks towards crunch was in regards to rockstar and red dead redemption 2′s release, a game which is now heralded as one of the best of all time, despite the way it treated everyone who worked on it. the moment it fixed everything, people forgot about just how hurt people working on that game were

my point is that skyrim is treated with this gentleness and fondness for dragons flying backwards and giants leaping into the sky and glitched quests (and how trophies, still to this day, sometimes will never work so you will have to put in another 100+ hour playthrough to be able to MAYBE get something). the irony in sony going after cp77 but STILL not forcing companies to fix broken quest lines

remember daa, with the silver mines? how if you happen to get that bug, that’s it. you basically have to restart. all ur items are gone, you can’t proceed. boom. bioware has never made an effort to fix it. they just released awakening as is, and proceeded onto their next project.

you also have to take into account that, okay sometimes they can’t pick up on all the glitches prior to testing like one or two are gonna slip through! but there’s a difference between that and a glitched out unplayable mess. cp77 honestly isnt unplayable, in fact it is one of the better games ive played at launch in a long time. do you know what gets these ppl notes and likes on the internet? blowing this shit out of proportion. in my 30+hrs of playing already, where im still just wandering around and picking up side missions and checking out clothes and whatever, sincerely have not seen half the shit ppl have said. not that it isnt true! the screenshots and vids are there! but people are piling it on, completely and totally, just for the sake of interest.

remember when mass effect andromeda dropped, and they had that beta test version that like journalists got to play, and how the models for cora and ryder had weird kind of motions and how sara ryder’s facial expressions are still a meme to this day? and how it kept getting piled on sooooooo much when it was like... not actually like that gameplay wise, and the story was quite nice, but who actually talks about that when you can talk about how bad the game looks ugh loading sequences ugh 360 head spins. fallout 4 had those weird smiles coming from npcs that are quite haunting, weren’t fixed.

you can actually tell that cdpr paid attention to writing a story that works, the endings are cathartic and not 2edgy2bedifferent like me3′s fucking starchild bullshit. also speaking of games who spent so long in production their story fucked up: persona 5 and final fantasy 15 are examples of spending too long being worked on with the story that despite how good it looks, it is a vapid excuse of a game that you HAVE to play either sequels or the dlc to get the full brunt of it. remember persona 5′s advertising? COMING SUMMER 2013. final fantasy 15 was ff versus for the lonnnngggeeesssstttt time too before square enix took it upon themselves to fuck it up and then GET MAD when ppl pointed out the story was kind of shallow (and also “why arent you releasing ff7r already”)

oh and then we also have things like kingdom hearts 3, which was quite frankly? awful and was FULL of corporations just getting their hands on it and doing whatever with it story wise (disney wanted frozen to feature so bad they intervened completely). borderlands 3 which keeps messing with the dlc and im amazed they even keep trying. bl3 was the sequel no one asked for, because it had no idea what it was doing. it was setting up to a story that i think very few ppl are now interested in.

yes cdpr lied. yes there are issues with their social media team. who do you actually blame though? the investors? corporations like sony and microsoft who no doubt wanted the game released as well? project managers, their bosses, the CEO? shareholders? fans who wanted the game now instead of putting up with another delay because lets be real: if a company needs to delay the game, they need to delay the game. its a demand and supply thing going on and the ppl who sit behind desks just see numbers they dont give a fuck about the people and we all know this. it fucking sucks.

this is not the first company, this is just the most public blowup because this game was teased in 2012 and people have held out for years and i get it! i do! ive been waiting for this game for years as well. and we can argue about how you shouldnt preorder games or not play stuff at launch or like how you should already have the latest console that has been sold out since it was announced and wont arrive in your country until march ! this can go back and forth and we can talk circles around cdpr but the point is: this isnt the first instance of it. it wont be the last.

if sony actually gave a fuck, they would review every single goddamn game that has been released to this day and has had bug reports. they dont. this is to clear up their public image. these companies truly dont give a fuck. bethesda admits to relying on fans to make their games playable with modding and to ALSO keep track of their story because it doesnt matter to them.

Which faction do you usually side with in the main game?

I tend to go Independent. My first ever run was NCR, I liked the benefits they came with, I had Boone with me, I hate Caesar’s Legion more than anything in the world, it was a very natural progression.

I tried a Caesar’s Legion run. Didn’t stick. Ended up just betraying them and butchering them. Can’t stomach them, not even to satisfy my curiosity.

I had already pissed off the NCR by that point and Mr. House doesn’t register as an option in my brain, so I just… Grabbed my stuff and did my own thing. It turned out to be very very fun. Scavenge weapons and armor, jury rig them, sell them, amass a fortune, arm yourself to the teeth, obliterate anyone that has beef with you. It’s a good life. I like the concept of just taking on the world by your own virtue, with your own skills. Independent is fun. Could I kill Yes Man, I would, not because I dislike the bot, simply because I feel like it ties me down a bit too much for my liking.

Favorite companion?

Raul. Guy’s hilarious, his every interaction is a punchline, he’s voiced by Danny Trejo, and he’s got a mean aim. I don’t play with companions anymore, but for sure Raul was my favorite when I did. Rex also is very fun to have.

Favorite build?

Guns/Melee/Stealth/Repair. The Ol’ Reliable, never lacking, always fun. Nothing like being able to always keep your arms in tip top condition and make a fat profit on the side by repairing Supersledges with pool cues. Blast a few heads open from afar while hiding, watch them stumble around, blast a few more heads until they finally know where the shots are coming from, but that’s fine, that’s why you have Oh Baby! in reserve.

Fav weapons?

Bloodnap, Anti-Materiel, Paciencia, Christine’s CoS Silencer Rifle, Oh Baby!, Big Boomer, Saturnite Fist Superheated, Survivalist’s Rifle, Knock Knock, A Light Shining In Darkness and All-American.

Fav DLC?

Lonesome Road. All DLCs for New Vegas are fantastic, in fact, when I play New Vegas nowadays, I more or less just play base game until I’m level 10 or so and then go to the DLCs, ignoring the base game almost completely, but Lonesome Road has a special place in my heart above the other three. 

It’s a very personal, solemn journey. The dialogue choices all feel like a proper character you can build instead of a paper doll you are meant to project into, a perfect compromise between having a proper character be the PC and having the self-insert paper doll, and the neutral tone of most choices is gone for emotion. It’s a very desolate, oppressive DLC, in which someone wants to make you pay for something you weren’t even aware you had a hand on, by their terms, in their turf.

You travel through beautifully deserted, ruined places, you find fun new weapons, strong enemies, traps and loot, it’s very much the ultimate experience the game can offer you without mods, and it was very inspiring when I first played through it.

What do you think of Ulysses?

My favorite character, haha. I love Ulysses in the narrative. I can understand why anyone would find him annoying; he is, after all, a walking filibuster, but his segmented way of talking, his purple prose, and his demeanor all make him wonderful to me. I especially like that he’s a hypocrite, and that you can actually make him face his hypocrisy if you find his audio logs and pick the right Speech options.

However, beyond all, I adore that he’s desperately looking for an identity, for something to believe, to fight for. That’s the tragedy of Ulysses: He’s extremely patriotic, but he has no flag to devote all this patriotism to. He’s so desperate, so bitter, and yet so debonair without it feeling contradicting that is just builds a character that truly feels like someone who has walked all the miles this world has to offer and seen all the things its end has brought to the surface, not just someone who we are told did these things. He’s my favorite even though he feels pain every day of his life, his fervor is more intense. The only way to put him down is with rationale or with bullets, and neither way is easy.

im...not sure if its royal edition?? I think windows edition has all the features of royal edition, although im not completely sure. I think luna has a cutscene in Insomnia thats only in royal edition, so once im there ill be able to tell. technically im in Insomnia now but ive time traveled back and it might be a while before i push on to the finale. after dealing with Altissia --> the start of Insomnia linearly i wanted some time to chill with the bros and pretend

everything is fine for a while. it has been a WILD ride for sure and yeah I haven't even started up any of the dlc yet! theres so much content!! ive been practicing playing as the other bros during medium-hard combat which has kept it feeling really fresh too. also its hilarious just blasting bad guys with a bazooka while the other people are in there swinging around swords and knives. and i haven't done any of the crossover quests yet, which seem big and exciting!

ill be forever sad that i missed the assassins festival but theres definitely plenty to do that I'm excited for. and im getting really into the fishing!! charmed is definitely the right word like..its not perfect at all but this game is so genuinely endearing with its characters personalites and development and its themes and music as well and it really does some things SO well.

hell yeah pc is royal edition with a bunch of other shit and the dlcs (bar ardyn) incorporated, dont worry, also i would die for that one cindy in a decent outfit mod i know the exact one youre on about LOL (also i can recommend you some other mods if u like!!)

if i can share some knowledge with you right quick cuz i had the same problem and wouldve died to have someone tell me i went from barely 20fps on a good day to being able to run multiple programs with ffxv in the background; specialk is a very quick install and majorly helped with multithreading; otherwise for the in game options are using low resolution texture pack (assets option); shadows look near visually identical on the lowest option compared to the highest; all nvidia effects can be turned off with no significant graphic change; turning off anti aliasing entirely genuinely makes the game look better for me; i can post my full settings if itll help you and ive also read through a few tutorials for modding around lag so i can try and help you with that, i do get pretty major lag spikes though and frequently find it near impossible to stream/record, but i manage to nail that 60fps on average if im solely running ffxv with a few cut corners like those

also dont blame you with altissia, ngl i boiled through the story rollercoaster right quick after exploring most of the open world before even touching altissia and ended up ignoring all postgame content for starting a new save immediately and replaying just to get that hangout time in the open world that wasnt just go-back-in-time-through-magic-dog. but i feel you so hard dude i just want more of them chilling. literally i have 300 hours in this game already and i know half of those have been using the car listening to tunes LMFAO

yeah the crossover quests are funnn the one with terra wars is sweet and the ffxiv one is SO funny its literally hysterical i was roaring with laughter a couple times!!! and good on you practising i didnt touch any of the extended combat until my third save and yeah honestly if you want to do the postgame menaces those skillsll come in useful, its funny because the maingame bosses arent that hard but the postgame is mental. but yeah i love blowing shit up with proms bazooka it fucking rules nerds can keep their swords

honestly so much of this game for me is literally just booting it to go hang with the guys its really relaxing lmfaooo... hiking around with these goofy dudes. sometimes i just wanna chill with the anime boys. YEAH literally its sweet and charming and then fucking heartbreaking and even though the writing is hammy as hell im honestly so willing to forgive it. not only for the clear amount of care and love that went into specifically building the guys relationship (which anyone knows is the best and most realised part of the game) but the details and amount of lore you can uncover if you take a step and interpret a little. maybe thats too generous a statement for what was an executive nightmare and critically underdeveloped but i grew up on ffxiii and knowing the versus 13 lore and that ffxv was part of that extended canon im satisfied with it being another side to that story and running with that. i think supplemented with its additional content years after release ffxv isnt a complete experience but enough of one to leave an impact or at least it did majorly for me! ive been obsessed.

ok so i played thru and watched them both a lot, and for the most part what i can tell you is the dialogue didn't really change at all, but the UI got a complete overhaul + some graphics were changed

this is what the original game text looked like (sorry i took a pic of my laptop instead of a screenshot)

its generally a lot cleaner plus the notes are better arranged, this is what the notes are like on pc

and this is it on mobile

theres some new graphics you wont find in the original version too, i dont know why they werent added to the original game but from what i know it was a company separate from freebird that ported the game to mobile (they're also the same ones bringing it to the switch later this year if you want to get that instead)

generally if you want better graphics and easier controls i recommend the mobile version, there's very little interaction within the game itself so the gameplay isn't affected

BUT i recommend the steam version to everyone because that's where you get two bonus DLC episodes where you get more (very important) lore on the main cast + introduces new side characters some of which are essential to the plot others who're just kinda fun anyway

also, the two other games in the series (A Bird Story and Finding Paradise) aren't ported to mobile and are PC only, imo you should super very very much play the sequels i enjoyed them a lot more than To The Moon overall, and if you get all the games in a bundle they're cheaper

my final verdict i guess is mobile was very fun and a lot prettier and you can just get that and watch letsplays of the DLCs on youtube (theyre only half an hour each) But i super recommend getting the bundles with all the games and soundtracks more because they're cheap as far as games go and so very worth it
