taking a break from terrorizing the plant forums with my autism because im realizing i need a microscope and maybe some actual formal training to further my hunt to see every species of moss and liverwort in my forests and its making me kind of depressed

like i feel like even reading keys wont teach me everything because there's so much unresolved taxonomy and now whenever i post online i get different viewpoints and no one is TRUELY an expert and there's really no consistent guide to all the species in the area. im working off a few different keys that all have different opinions on what is what. like maybe getting a microscope would let me see enough difference to just decide for myself but im starting to have doubts. anyway might get a meeting w the master of moss at the local university which i am holding out for, hopefully i am not extremely offputting and this dude sees some potential in me. like fuck do i actually have to get a degree to delve deeper. killink myself.

anyway if theres some people amongst the "lets go on a walk and look at moss" crowd who actually understands moss hmu every tuft moss looks the same to me and i want to fix that because CLEARLY they are not.
