When Spring comes I will miss winter, because I adore the cold breeze of winter and the comfort of having a choice how warm I want... but when spring comes I will enjoy the colours and the welcoming of cute critters...

But after spring my arch rival comes... the blasted heat of summer... the ever loving knowledge of no matter what you do.. you can't escape the heat or the warmth... no matter how much skin you show it's a moment of relive before the sun curses you with his rays and laughs at you!!

November 12 Marks a New Era for Final Fantasy XIV: Patch 7.1 ‘Crossroads’ Unveiled

Final Fantasy XIV continues to evolve with no signs of slowing down. As fans eagerly await, the game is set to receive its major Patch 7.1, titled "Crossroads," which brings an exciting wave of new content to the latest Dawntrail expansion. Announced in the recent Live Letter 84 with game director Naoki Yoshida and community producer Toshio Murouchi, the new update promises a mix of main scenario quests, alliance raids, and numerous quality-of-life improvements that players are bound to love. Let’s dive into all the content and updates coming with this patch!

Patch 7.1 Main Scenario Quests – Crossroads

The Dawntrail expansion’s main storyline continues with new main scenario quests, focusing on helping the people of two worlds move forward. As the Warrior of Light and their companions continue their journey, they find themselves uncovering hidden secrets of the past. This quest series is expected to delve deeper into the rich lore of Final Fantasy XIV, adding emotional depth and adventure.

Echoes of Vana’diel: Alliance Raid Dungeon

In Patch 7.1, players will embark on the Echoes of Vana’diel, a new 24-player alliance raid themed around Final Fantasy XI. Known as “Jeuno: The First Walk,” this raid invites the Warrior of Light to investigate a mysterious unease within Yak T’el. Guided by the iconic character Prishe, players will face formidable foes and experience a crossover that pays homage to Final Fantasy XI while staying rooted in the lore of FFXIV. The raid introduces memorable bosses and rewards, offering a nostalgic journey that combines challenging mechanics with stunning visuals.

New Dungeon: Yuweyawata Field Station

Patch 7.1 introduces a fresh dungeon, Yuweyawata Field Station, set in the northern region of Heritage Found. This dungeon tells the story of a Tonawawtan village that faced an attack from a fierce Tural Vidraal. Zoraal Ja led the Landsguard to protect the village, but the fate of its inhabitants remains unknown. The dungeon’s design and boss mechanics aim to challenge players with innovative elements, particularly in the third boss fight. Yoshida hinted that this boss encounter would surprise players with unexpected twists.

New Trial: The Minstrel’s Ballad – Sphene’s Burden

In this patch’s new extreme trial, The Minstrel’s Ballad: Sphene’s Burden, players face an intense reimagining of the Queen Eternal encounter. This simulacrum queen preserves the memories of her subjects by absorbing the lives of innocents. The minstrel’s sorrowful song transports players back to this confrontation, giving them the chance to test their skills against her in an alternate scenario where she may have achieved unstoppable power. This trial promises to test the limits of even seasoned players with its challenging mechanics.

Futures Rewritten (Ultimate): The Newest Ultimate Raid

Coming with Patch 7.11 on November 26, Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) revisits the Eden raid series from Shadowbringers, exploring a unique alternate timeline. This ultimate difficulty raid raises the challenge to an unparalleled level, presenting intense battle mechanics and a fresh narrative angle. With changes to limit break generation to prevent job stacking, this encounter will require precise coordination and teamwork.

New PvP and Crystalline Conflict Updates

Final Fantasy XIV has revamped PvP gameplay to improve hit detection and enhance player experience. The Crystalline Conflict ranked matches will now be organized per region, with only the top-performing character on each account eligible for ranking. Maps like Cloud Nine and Red Sands have also been updated for better flow and strategic depth. For Series 7, players can enjoy adjustments designed to encourage engagement and competition across all PvP modes.

Glamour Update: Streamlined Gear Customization

A highly anticipated glamour update is finally here! With the new system, players can store entire gear sets in a single slot within the glamour dresser, making it easier to organize and save space. Initially focused on level-one items for glamour, this update is a boon for fashion-conscious adventurers who frequently change appearances.

Hall of the Novice Overhaul

New players will benefit from a reworked Hall of the Novice, which introduces essential mechanics and battle tactics in a structured training format. This update includes exercises on stacking markers, spread AoEs, gaze attacks, and other common combat scenarios. Yoshida highlighted that this training program has been crafted with feedback from experienced players to ensure new adventurers understand essential raid mechanics.

Special Events and Crossover Content

Patch 7.1 also brings a War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius crossover event, where players can acquire costumes inspired by iconic characters such as King Mont and Queen Macherie. This crossover will also appear in War of the Visions, offering fans of both games a chance to celebrate the collaboration. The event kicks off in December for FFXIV, while War of the Visions will host the event globally in January.

Chaotic Alliance Raid: Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic)

Arriving on December 24 with Patch 7.15, the Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) alliance raid introduces a 24-player challenge that scales based on party size. This chaotic raid features a unique composition of two tanks, two healers, and four DPS per group and presents mechanics that require clear coordination and leadership. Rewards include ilevel 730 gear, mounts, minions, and tokens to trade for rare items, ensuring players have plenty of incentives to return.

New Mounts, Minions, and Custom Deliveries

With each patch, Final Fantasy XIV introduces new collectibles. Patch 7.1 features two new mounts: the mighty Barreltender from the Tender Valley dungeon and digital wings from the Interphos (Extreme) trial. Additionally, Patch 7.15 will bring custom deliveries for Nitowikwe, a new character with unique items to offer. These additions, alongside new minions, hairstyles, and PvP gear, promise a variety of fresh experiences.

Quality-of-Life Improvements and More

Patch 7.1 includes a series of quality-of-life updates designed to streamline gameplay and customization:

Duty Support Expansion: Additional duty support will allow players to team up with NPCs for select side quests.

Doman Mahjong Update: New reactions and commentary from Scion characters make Doman Mahjong more immersive.
