HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: The Riveting Sci-Fi Short Film 'Ensouled'
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: The Riveting Sci-Fi Short Film 'Ensouled'
I’ve recently come across a rather intriguing sci-fi short film called Ensouled last year at FilmQuest as an awards judge and it definitely deserves your attention if you get a chance to come across it as it continues its film festival run! Deep within the enigmatic Eternia facility, Clara carries a heavy burden of concealed grief. But within these mysterious walls, her life is about to…

Sadly, Damn Handy does not have a release date just yet. But on the positive side, the film has been (so far) accepted into 8 film festivals! It already received one award at the Block Island Film Festival back in June of this year. We sure hope it wins all the awards! 🙌.
If one of these film festivals happens to be near you, you can check it out before anyone else! 😁
• Mystic Film Festival • Santa Fe International Film Festival • Sleepy Hollow International Film Festival • Filmquest 2024 • Chicago Horror Film Festival • Block Island Film Festival ("Spotlight Lighthouse Award" Winner, June 2024) • Fall HorrorHound Film Festival • Flickers' Rhode Island Film Festival
In the meantime, check out the preview trailer below while we await for that much-anticipated release date.

Another thing I was curious about is how they were able to do things like green screen effects back then. from what I saw that looks like something id be able to do with the free software that I use but back then it must of been really difficult.
I got to watch the original Godzilla tonight which is something I wanted to do but put off and it wasn’t what I expected. For the most part I kinda didn’t like it, from the summary’s I’ve heard of it I thought it was going to have a profound overall message which was kinda there with the final line but it didn’t really hit. There was no real conflict between man and beast it was more how do we kill this thing and one guy doesn’t want to but he has no power over it so ignored. At first I liked emiko because she didn’t wine when her husband got called into work over something he couldn’t control like a lot of people in moves do, but then she started crying over litteraly everything and I became sick of her quickly. Godzilla coming is something how I imagined a strip tease feels like, once I was in a certian point knowing how long the movie was they had to show him soon and when he did show up I didn’t feel all the hype of his presence but I thought the rest of the movie would pick it up (it didn’t). A lot of the actors seemed kinda amateur and the effects were low budget but I’ll let it slide since it was the 50’s and they were still in black and white lol, it actually gave the movie a kind of endearing homemade kind of feel that I enjoyed but it kinda dragged down on the action scene and made emiko’s crying more annoying. Godzilla himself didn’t really seem to have a motive it reminded me of king of the monsters because we watched that a few days before and it struggled with all the same flaws and lacked the benifit of giving Godzilla expression it felt like he was doing nothing and then at some point decided to break stuff and I gotta admit even though I give props to the guy in the suit Godzilla looked goofy as hell 😂😂😂 . Im glad I got to watch it, it didn’t diminish my feelings as a Godzilla fan and I still have a couple of take aways I enjoy from it 6\10”godzillasaurus”

I was honored to collaborate with @paulkaiserart. I’m proud of the content of this film; the caliber of this cast, crew, and creative team; and grateful for the opportunity to imagine the character’s movement direction & choreography. I’m excited that “Casual Vignettes of Gilded Vulgarity” is an official selection at @filmquest!

“Casual Vignettes of Gilded Vulgarity is an official selection at Filmquest! After shooting the miniature set pieces to establish the world our film exists in, we then had green screen shoot dates with the actors to later add into the sets. We could not have done this without our choreographer and movement director Matthew Shaffer who has worked for the LA Opera, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, the list goes on. Took a village of people to pull this off. Congrats to this hard-working team. Come out and see this film on 10/28 11am at Filmquest! #teamgoals”
