Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Review
Summary: Based on the book by Roald Dahl, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is about a young man named Charlie Bucket. He lives with his family who is financially unstable, but when he earns a final golden ticket, he then gets to visit a chocolatier named Willy Wonka who is giving up his factory before retirement to one of the winners of the golden ticket.
Thoughts: I adore Gene Wilder. Ever since I saw this film, I wanted to see this actor in other films such as The Producers, Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles. RIP Gene, I will miss you.

mother! Review
Summery: A poet and his wife are at an isolated home. The wife is connected with the house while the poet is struggling with writer’s block. Guests arrive at their home, and changes happen around them that affect both of them.
Thoughts: This movie is an underrated film that deserves more credit than it gets. It is well written and smart and the trailers didn’t showed mother! in the right light. It is a psychological thriller that is worth the watch.

Fiddler on the Roof Review
Summary: Tevye is a jewish dairy farmer who’s family is struggling to survive in czarist Russia.
Thoughts: This is the best adaptation of a musical ever. Fiddler not only has the original text within the film, but add new direction that made the film even more entertaining.

The Wedding Singer Review
Summary: Robbie Hart, a wedding singer, gets heartbroken by his girlfriend who refuses to marry him. A young woman named Julia asks Robbie to sing at her wedding, but at first he declines. As the weeks pass on, he starts to fall for her and a romance blossoms.
Thoughts: Adam Sandler has the modern comedic punching bag of the film industry, but this film is very funny, heartwarming and memorable. It also highlights Sander’s wit and timing to a tee. I saw a musical version of this film and it wasn’t as good.

Downsizing Review
Summary: A social satire that talks about a couple who decides to downsize, to shrink to a smaller size to create a better life for themselves. The wife then realizes that for her this isn’t the best option. The husband is alone and is going to find a new life for himself.
Thoughts: Downsizing is an interesting concept, but the execution is forced and uninspired. Everything after the introduction of Downsizing, is unbearable. I highly recommend to watch Suburbicon instead of this film.

Terminal Review
Summary: In this dystopian city, we look at a group of various assassins who tries to kill each other and what happens to them.
Thoughts: The film was well shot and well written for two-thirds of the movie. And then the ending happened. Let’s just say it comes out of nowhere. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Nerve Review
Summery: A shy, nervous, young woman has very little confidence within herself. When a new app called Nerve comes into her life, everyone thinks that she wouldn’t be a part of it. But she overcomes that and her life might be affected if she makes one wrong step.
Thoughts: When I first heard about this film, I was intrigued and curious about the idea. Everyone I talked to about Nerve was very skeptical. When it was released, I watched it and I am glad that I did. This is an entertaining movie. I recommend this movie if you haven’t seen it. The less I say about it, the better experience I think that you will have.

Summary: A bank teller wants to marry a young woman. She isn’t in love with him, so she cheats on him with his best friend. When the teller finds out, he commits suicide knowing that he will never be loved.
Thoughts: This is a brilliant movie, even though the film is confused on multiple levels. It is inept and funny, but I highly recommend it because is how it is acted and written.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri Review
Summery: A mother becomes irritated and frustrated that no one has solved the murder of her daughter. So, he buys three billboards to notify the police that they should do something about it.
Thoughts: A perfect dark comedy that balances the serious tone with some really funny humor. In my opinion, one of, if not, the best of 2017.
