Instead of using individual storyboards for Duel Steven Spielberg plotted the entire film in this mural.The mural was so large it encompassed the walls of his motel room.

The film was shot in 13 days.This was drawn by the film's Art Director Bob Smith.

The producers & AD told Spielberg this film could not be shot entirely on location without rear projection car shots filmed at the studio & meet the schedule.

Spielberg & Smith did this and the entire film was shot on location.
