The murder of Sophie Lancaster occurred in the United Kingdom in 2007. The victim, along with her boyfriend, Robert Maltby, were attacked by a number of males in their mid-teens while walking through Stubbylee Park in Bacup, Rossendale, in Lancashire.[1] As a result of the severe head injuries Sophie sustained in the attack, she went into a coma from which never regained consciousness. She died of her injuries thirteen days later. The police said the attack may have been linked to the couple wearing gothic fashion and being members of the goth subculture.[2]   - source - wikipedia

Abigal Laurie does Sophie so much justice. <3  And of course,beautiful Nico,doing Rob a good one as well. <3 This film was literally released yesterday in the UK as a BBC adaptation of the events before,during and after the brutal and horrid hate crime inflicted upon two young lovely souls who didn’t deserve that sort of pain ever to be seeped into their own lives. We must respect everyone,no matter how they dress or what they believe in. They were in the wrong place,being nice to other kids with curious interest in them. Two of the guys in the group,beat them both into comas,and eventually Sophie died 13 days later. Rob survived,but has little to no memory of the attack. My heart goes out to these individuals as well as their families and for all the actors and actresses in this film that helped share the truth and the love of Rob and Sophie.
