tfone au where OP is created as the last of the primes but way after them, a sparkling born at what were thought to be the last days of the war against the quintessons, the beginning of a new generation of peace after eons of war. a child meant to be loved and raised knowing nothing of war nor sacrifice.

he's kept mostly out of the spotlight by his siblings, who don't wish to expose him to everyone's optics so young, and want to wait until the war is done and over to properly introduce him to their people.

except of course the primes are betrayed and murdered by sentinel, the war is lost and everyone who knows and cared for the truth is either banished or outright killed in order to suppress it.

and the high guard, the ones the primes trusted the most, the ones that were supposed to protect them, the ones who failed in their most important duty, have to make a choice. to take the last prime, their last hope, with them to the surface, a hostile environment where there's little to no supplies and where they'll be hunted down by both sentinel and the quintessons as the biggest threat to their regimen.

or hide him in plain sight. place him where sentinel won't think to look for him. one more sparkling among many. and hope it will be enough to keep him alive. pray to primus that he'll protect his last child long enough for them to come back for him when it's safer (even if most of them have already lost their faith on him when he allowed the rest of his children to be massacred like that)

they almost lose their resolve when they realize they will have to take the little one's cog away in order to make him blend in with the rest of the newborns (and oh do they burn with murderous intent when they see what sentinel has done to their people but it's not the time yet-) but in the end they decide an impaired little prime is better than a dead one.

and so in the chaos of thirteen dead primes and a sudden energon crisis, a little sparkling who very few mechs really knew about and even fewer had seen completely vanishes. and in the depths of iacon a mech in charge of a new batch of newborns scratches their helm in confusion as they realize they must have miscounted the first time.

optimus prime is quietly erased from any official records by sentinel, written off as dead when they find a sparkling's frame mangled beyond recognition after an attack on the base of those rebels that insist on being a thorn on his side. killing the sparkling hadn't been precisely in his plans, he probably could've found some use for it after all, but he's not particularly upset about it either.

and orion pax grows up with an ache on his spark that tells him he's missing something far more important than a t-cog and dreams of gentle and loving hands, cradling him against the frames of mechs he cannot recall the faces of.

I see a staggering amount of manipulative disinformation on the internet daily, but I am gonna have to draw the line at the post I saw the other day that said something positive about Ronald Reagan. We on the left cannot horseshoe our way into saying a single good thing about that man! Ever! Not to be old (in my thirties) online but the horrors that he enacted that still impact us today are easy to find! Sure most people, even awful ones, had good qualities, but I assure he did not this has been PSA.

Day Fifty-Nine

I didn't feel great at the start of the day, but I shook it off and did my thing, which, since it's Thursday, was running a PLC meeting. That was short but productive, and afterwards I had my prep time. So I graded my APGOV students' major cases projects (which were great), answered a bunch of emails, and made photocopies for Global Studies.

The Global Studies students had a test today, but I also had a 504 meeting at the start of the first section, so I laid down the law, wished them luck, and had Mr. I cover for me. The 504 meeting was short enough that I also snuck in my last observation- the one I couldn't do yesterday- before heading back up for the last twenty minutes or so of class. I was fully present for the other two sections, and mostly used the time to grade the tests from the first section. Otherwise, I just had to field questions here and there.

I have one more set of tests to grade tomorrow, but, so far, there haven't been many surprises; grades have been about where I've expected them to be.

My day took a downhill turn during APGOV, and not because of the class or the students' behavior. I lectured on economic policy-making, they read some relevant news articles, and we discussed what they'd learned and what they're still wondering about. So it was great, but about halfway through the discussion I felt myself getting short of breath. I'm asthmatic and prone to panic attacks, so I wrapped up the lesson a smidge early, asked Mr. F to come watch my class, and went to see The School Nurses. One of them took me up to the ER to get checked out, which was really nice of her to do. Multiple tests, some medication for the breathing, and an x-ray to rule out pneumonia, and I'm home.

Not the best ending to the day, but I've got good people who got me through it.

flashbacks to dialogue that happened less than a minute ago are annoying and a little insulting for obvious reasons, unless it's in bad buddy episode 5 [2/4] and pat is having entirely serious sepia toned flashbacks to fifty seconds ago while almost shoving a set of drumsticks he hasn't even paid for yet up his nose. then it's brilliant and world changing

While he was considered 'good' with people in his mortal life, Nobukatsu has generally preferred to do things alone or only with people he really trusts. He developed a habit of being a bit of a bookworm, using the attic as his own personal getaway.

He was decent at military tactics, but always preferred his books on agriculture, architecture and various parts of history. In a strange way, one could say his interest with how the world has progressed mirrors that of his sister's ability to look towards the future.

Once upon a time, his dream was to revolutionize the way farms are run. To create not only an efficient system, but a community that would be safe from the war that raged outside their windows.

For this life though, he's started to satisfy himself by growing plants in his room. When he can, he loves to take fauna from his missions, particularly the lost belts - so he can keep the memory of those timelines alive in a strange way.

the crown is an amazing show because there's like four different episodes where this guy is cheating on his wife at every available opportunity and also bragging about it to all his buds in written communication and he's somehow surprised and devastated that she ends up divorcing him (and so are like half of his colleagues, for some reason)
