Moving to the city was a big jump. Actually, moving to the city by yourself was a big jump. Your ability to make nothing but sandwiches, soups and salads started to take its toll on you, your mother finally having enough of making you meals constantly.

She promised to make you meals until you learned to cook, but you had been so busy taking care of your dog and working small time jobs you didn’t have the time to cook.

Your apartment was pretty small and the walls were thin. The neighbor’s loud music and usual mishaps bothered you and took your mind off of the beautiful view you had from your window.

Sighing, you sat in the bean bag chair near the big view of the window. The view of the bustling city was so peaceful, but viewing it this time didn’t take your stress away. You slouched in your chair, groaning at nothing in particular.

Fifi, your dog, took notice of your stress. She ran towards you and wagged her tail. She could always sense when you were down, and it always seemed to ease your stress.

“Oh Fifi,” you whined, rubbing small circles on her head as she leaned in closer to your warm palm. “You’re so good to me. Thank you for comforting me.” Fifi nuzzled your hand with her nose before running to the front door, enthusiastically wagging her tail.

“Do you want to go for a walk?” You asked. She stood on her hind legs, jumping and wagging her tail. You grabbed the harness and doggy bag from the shelf and put them on her, attaching the dog leash.

It wasn’t too cold out, so you put on your sneakers and grabbed your keys. As soon as you closed the door behind you, you ran into your neighbor. It was odd, you had never seen him before. Was he new?

“Oh, hi...” he said as he noticed you staring. “Hi...” you awkwardly replied. He was so handsome and tall. His glowing honey skin and soft eyes had you mush already. But it was weird to feel that way about a stranger.

You were too busy staring and having an internal battle with yourself to notice Fifi running up to the companion beside your neighbor. “Well hello cutie!” your neighbor said. He snapped you out of your thoughts when you saw your dog sniffing up his dog.

“Oh gosh I’m so sorry...um...” You stuttered trying to figure out his name. “Mingyu. My name is Mingyu. Your name is....?”

“Oh! I’m (Y/N).” You tucked a stray strand of hair behind your ear. He smiled, his sharp teeth showing with it. “Well, you’re very pretty. And so is your dog.”

You blushed, the comment seeming odd and out of the original conversation’s plans. Actually, there were no conversation plans.

“T-Thank you. You’re very handsome, and so is your dog.”

“Her name is Aji. She’s really old, I’m just watching her temporarily for a family member.” He picked her up into his arms to keep her from running away from Fifi. “My dog’s name is Fifi. She’s mine and she’s very sweet. I hope our dogs can get along.”

“I hope so too.” He smirked. His nose began to scrunch up at the sudden alarming smell. “It looks like your dog left you something sweet to clean up...” You gasped when you saw that Fifi had pooped right outside your apartment door. “Oh my gosh. Bad Fifi!” She whimpered at your harsh scolding. As you were cleaning up the poop with the dog bag, you noticed that Fifi was hiding behind Mingyu.

“I’m sorry Fifi...” You opened your arms to welcome her, and she gladly ran back to you.

“You know...I may be new here, but there’s a dog park around here. Maybe you, Fifi, Aji and I can go visit. Think of it as a play date.”

Fifi barked at the idea, and it just caused a big smile to curl onto your face. “Sounds great.”
