Quarantine Meme

@maladyofthequotidian tagged me and i have nothing better to do. i’m gonna tag @lightsaroundyourvanity, @plastic-pipes, @hearticho and @bigmammallama5 but if anyone else wants to do it please tag me so i can see your quarantine boredom made public

Are you staying home from work/school? Yes, although all my work dried up several weeks ago and now i’m just catching up on the boring bits like invoicing. I think in a week I’ll have nothing left to do.

Are you a homebody? So until this pandemic I would have said I was around 50/50 on homebody vs someone who always needs to be out and about but I’ve realized I am not a homebody at all, just intermittently lazy and generally an introvert. I daydream about doing things like going to the post office and I am this close to actually going for a run, which is normally against my core belief system.

What movies have you watched recently? Disney movies, we’ve watched a lot of those. We also rewatched the new Charlie’s Angels and a lot of tv. I watched the current season of Ugly Delicious and it was a mistake, I am now incredibly sad about all the restaurants I can’t go to and also that Floyd Cardoz died after testing positive for coronavirus a few weeks ago.

An event that you were looking forward to that got cancelled? @maladyofthequotidian mentioned our trip to Joshua Tree that we had to cancel but I’m also really sad I will be missing Easter with my family. All my siblings would have gone home and I really love a good Hungarian Easter spread. My mom grates an insane amount of horseradish every year and there are so. many. pickles. Everything is pickleable if you try hard enough and my mom has the best pickled green tomatoes and corn. Also we have an Easter egg hunt by which I mean an all out family battle for bragging rights and it was going to be my year, I was finally going to win.

What music are you listening to? I’ve mostly been listening to podcasts but I’ve had Caravan Palace’s Lone Digger and a lot of Seinabo Sey on repeat to draw to. Also the F9 remix for the new song Smiling by Alanis Morissette has been our Mario Kart soundtrack.

What are you reading? News. So much news. I haven’t been able to read any fiction that isn’t fanfic since around the middle of March, my brain won’t switch off enough. I want to read so many things but I can’t right now.

What are you doing for self-care? So much Civilization 6, like, so much. Also Mario Kart, lowkey fanarting but mostly just for me, baking cookies and scones and coffee cake (I have made so much coffee cake we had to start freezing it), whatsapping my family and just watching my nephew in the garden. He’s two and loves watering things. Plants, grass, his rainbow galoshes, my sister, the fence. He’s discovered buckets and watering cans and has a squirt gun and is genuinely fine during this quarantine and I think the daily videos I get are keeping me sane.
