James twirled a free strand of her hair around his finger. “It looks so pretty like this, what do you need to fix?” Lily took his hand and held it to his chest. “I’m wearing it down.” “That’ll be pretty, too.” “Go sit down, or I’ll never finish.” “Yes, ma’am.” He gave her the briefest kiss, so light Lily knew her lipstick would still be perfect, and went to the couch. Lily hurried up the stairs without turning back to look at him; she’d become so easily distracted by James Potter.
