how to ask / motivate your favorite fanfic writers to post new works / update a new chapter WITHOUT rushing them or sounding entitled and rude;
don’t comment “when” or “will there be a next chapter” or “will you continue this?” quite frankly, these type of comments can sound like you’re demanding from your favorite writer, even if it may not be your intention.
if you’d love a sequel or are wondering when or if the fic will be updated, try something like “I love this so much!” *bonus if you explain why you love the fic or what you love about it* and then add something along the line of “if there’s a part 2 of this, I would be so excited / would absolutely love to read it!”
the trick is to avoid a blunt question like “will there be a part 2?” or “it’s been so long. when will you update?” etc.
honestly, DON’T ever comment something like “it’s been ___ months, ___ years” or “I don’t think the author will continue this lol” that’s one of the most effective ways to make sure your favorite author doesn’t come back to your favorite fic, and it’s just so… dishearteningly rude.
it doesn’t matter if it’s been months or years since the author’s last update, demanding and rushing them will most likely NOT give you the result you want.
reminder that fanfic authors are humans with lives and jobs outside of writing fanfiction, especially when fanfic is something they do in their free time out of love and passion, and you — the reader — get to read their works for free.
rushing and demanding will only make it sound like ‘a task that needs to get done’ for your favorite author, and it sucks out the joy of writing out of love and passion. it can be so discouraging for the authors.
fanfic authors don’t owe you anything.
even if they completely abandon the fic, it still doesn’t give you the right to be rude to them or to ask why they stopped writing or to coerce them into giving you what you want.
I can never say this enough; fanfic authors write in their free time, FOR FREE, out of love and passion. and you get to read their works FOR FREE because they’re kind enough to share their love for their comfort characters with you.
they don’t owe you anything.
it’s okay if you’re wondering when or if they’ll post something new, but it’s not okay to rush or demand from them.
comments are mostly what motivate authors into writing faster, so if you want your favorite authors to post more, comment about what you love about their works, express your gratitude to them for giving you these amazing fics for free, but don’t be an entitled reader by rushing or directly asking when they’ll update.
let’s keep fandom space safe and comforting for both writers and readers.

No Queerbaiting Here
A long time ago…I’m talking May of 2021, I wrote a meta post about queerbaiting. Essentially an essay. I wrote it right before the S4 finale of 9-1-1 aired because I was frustrated by Buddie fans calling Queerbait entirely like the boy that cried wolf. I still stand by it. Sort of.
Now, even back then I was pretty clear about how 50/50 I was on Buddie ever going canon. (Maybe not in that post but certainly elsewhere) But, I shipped Buddie then and wrote a lot of fic and meta and participated in fandom. I never said it couldn’t happen…I just would never be bothered if it didn’t.
Where we stand now: It’s not going to happen.
And where I stand now: fully immersed in Bucktommy. And what’s more, I am more than perfectly happy about Buck and Tommy staying together and going the long-run. Although I can still look at Buddie and think it’s a cute ship, I just don’t want it in canon. I would not be satisfied if the show went that way. But what’s more if Buck and Tommy don’t work out, that would be disappointing, but I’d be okay as long as they got to be happy. There is, after all, always fanfiction.
So, I wanted to revisit this concept a bit now that Buck has been confirmed as Bisexual and now that he is in a relationship with a man. Not Eddie. Tommy. And somehow, some Buddie fans are still crying queerbait because their ship is not canon. That’s not how it works. Also…shipping works outside of canon, that’s the whole point of shipping.
To reiterate from my original post on queerbaiting, here’s the definition from wikipedia:
“Queerbaiting is a marketing technique for fiction and entertainment in which creators hint at, but then do not actually depict, same-sex romance or other LGBTQ representation. They do so to attract a queer or straight ally audience with the suggestion of relationships or characters that appeal to them, while at the same time attempting to avoid alienating other consumers.”
Here’s where I stand: Buddie was abandoned a long time ago. If it was ever a real possibility, we won’t ever know. What we do know is that Oliver was aware that at one point he had given them the go-ahead to make Buck Bi. Whether this was by putting Buck and Eddie together or having Buck realize this another way, we just don’t know that. We don’t have that information and nor will it probably ever be provided to us. Narratively, I know that a lot of fans figured the timing of it fit with S4 and that particular finale but we really just don’t know despite what happened in the finale.
I found that interesting looking back at my own post from back then and the discussion that followed where some fans felt that the way the finale went would determine if Buddie would be another queerbait ship. (I think most people agreed after the will scene that it wasn’t queerbait because it did leave a kernel of hope that Buddie might still happen).
And yeah, I guess you could argue that the network deciding not to go the route of a queer storyline points to missed opportunity. That doesn’t then mean that any queerbaiting occurred or that any fans are owed anything just because something that was set up or that the writers were writing towards was then scrapped by the network. Is it a shame that it didn’t happen in whatever way they wanted to play it out, sure, but only because Buck would have been confirmed queer earlier. In the same vein isn’t it nice that we have a confirmed Bisexual Buck now? That the show managed to bring it back to that.
A Buck that is happy and free and that has realized something so monumental about himself? Isn’t it nice that all the queer coding that Buck as a character has received since the start of the show is actually finally not just queer coding but full on character development? That we can look back at the show and see all the things Buck did around other men for exactly what they were.
When Tommy first returned to 9-1-1 in S7, I think a lot of us were excited by the spoilers about Buck and Tommy because of Bi Buck, but also because this was the thing that could lead to Buddie.
And then…then Tommy was actually on my screen and I doubted it. I actually thought maybe the spoilers were wrong and this was about Eddie and Tommy? That episode flipped things in such an expertly way that by the time Tommy and Buck were sharing a kiss for the first time I was right there with Buck. On a second watch, it is all there. Buck was never jealous because his friend was ignoring him. He was jealous because his best friend had the attention of the guy whose attention he wanted for himself. The writing on that was perfect and no amount of twisting it can change what happened on screen.
Buck was not jealous because of Eddie. Tommy was never interested in more than friendship with Eddie. And Buck and Tommy have nothing to do with Buddie. Tommy is not a stepping stone, a way for Buck to be ready to then embark on a relationship with Eddie. That’s both disrespectful to Tommy and Buck, but just not what the story being told on the show is doing.
The storyline is monumental. Having a big strong guy, a firefighter, figure out his sexuality in his thirties is such good storytelling and add to that Tommy. Someone that we already know, who already works as a first responder, and who can show up and wow Buck in such a way that he realizes something about himself? This is what I’ve always wanted. Because guess what, Buck never questioned his sexuality before this. Not when he met Eddie and not when he met anyone else, not until Tommy.
Going into the new season we know a few things and one of those is that Buck and Tommy are thriving. The media coverage talks about them as a solid couple, it talks about Buck having someone to turn to and complain to. It talks about how they are still in the getting to know each other phase and I love that for them. I love how they are being treated and described and I can’t wait to see what plays out for them and how much of the build up of their relationship we may get to actually see.
Do you know what the media and the show never talked about outwardly like this? Buddie. Whenever it came up it was always brushed aside in a way that was respectful to fans and what they saw, but without ever confirming or hinting that the show would ever go there. They never queerbaited anyone with Buddie, what they have done is say “yeah…we know what you see” and then turned around and given us a Buck and Eddie friendship and Buck kissing Tommy, going on a date with Tommy, and thriving with Tommy.
So, no queerbaiting here on the show where half of the major canon pairings are queer. It’s actually more like some fans baiting other fans with theories and headcanons that just don’t fit.

the entitlement that some of you readers have is insane to me. have some fucking shame? we’re doing this for free and for fun, and when YOU run writers off platforms because you’re DEMANDING something from someone who owes you nothing, you complain? shut the fuck up. just shut up.
appreciate what you’re given, and if you can’t find something you want to read or you think something is too long — build your attention span and write it your damn self.
smau are so much better than long fics like yours
sighhhhhh they are completely different

BIGGER BOYS AND STOLEN SWEETHEARTS — K. SUNWOO
pairing: kim sunwoo x fem! reader
genre: fluff. platonic but also not really 👀 jealous sunwoo that is also very delusionally in love with the reader. sunwoo plays the electric guitar but also he's kind of shit so yn has to help him
word count: 1.8k
warnings: swearing, jealousy, the reader is basically half naked and sunwoo ogles a bit
a/n: this fic is my way of battling writer's block. uni is kicking my ass but also i thought of this in the train omw home so i guess its also good for something. this is very much inspired by sunwoo wanting to learn how to play electric guitar, me remembering i own one, and also miri @/satoruly associating bigger boys and stolen sweethearts with me and making me forever insane because of it. also reblog and comment pls its so quiet here its depressing.
once again thank u so much @csenke for beta reading this fiesty baby and thank u @from-izzy for helping me with the flirty bits i owe you my life.
Tumblr media
“You have to leave by 5, because I’m hanging out with Mark later,” you call for him as you enter the room, eyes catching a glimpse of Sunwoo sitting on your bed, an electric guitar in his hand. The boy furrows his brows at your words, a bitter taste on his tongue making him roll his eyes as he focuses his attention on the instrument in his lap, fingers aimlessly playing with the strings.
“Okay, alright,” he hisses, clicking his tongue. If you notice anything odd about his behavior, you don’t mention it to him– and if he was self-aware enough to recognise the acid aftertaste your words leave in his mouth for what it really was, he’d be even glad for your sudden blindness to his infatuation with you.
“We’re going to the new bistro that opened downtown,” you hum, as if to only fuel the boy’s frustration further. If all you wanted to do was talk about the guy, why did you invite Sunwoo over in the first place? This was starting to feel like a trap.
“I told you about that place,” he huffs.
“Thank you for the recommendation,” you smile at him ironically, and when your eyes finally meet, Sunwoo recognises the playful glint in your eye– you’re 100% aware of the tension in the air, enjoying the way you have the boy completely under your spell, ready to be torn into pieces. It’s that look you have on your face every time a guy hits on you– the one that mirrors victory, the slightest kick it gives your self-esteem making you grin to yourself as you twirl your hair on your finger and satisfy the man with the slightest touch on his arm. You play into it– you always do– but you never quite let anyone sweep you off your feet completely.
“I thought we would check it out together,” Sunwoo says, fingers plucking at the E string of the guitar, making a dull sound resonate through your room as the background to your conversation.
“We can do that later,” you say, shrugging, “I’ll give you all the recommendations.”
“Traitor,” Sunwoo hisses, glaring at you with a tinge of hurt behind his orbs.
“Don’t be so butthurt.”
“Don’t be so merciless, then,” the boy counters, averting his gaze from yours. “Is he picking you up? I bet he doesn’t even have a car.”
“That’s an unusual way to express jealousy, considering you don’t even have a car, Sunwoo,” you grimace, chuckling at the emotional outburst of your friend. “Besides, his dad owns a car bazaar. I think the possibilities of him not owning a car are quite close to zero.”
Sunwoo stays quiet at that, the call-out making red splotches appear on his cheeks from shame. His eyes quickly move to the guitar again, hypnotizing it with his gaze, fingers clamming at the strings.
Do you like torturing him? Is this what it’s all about? Just a few days ago, he thought he had it all– sneaking his hand into the back pocket of your jeans as he was dropping you off, receiving a ruffle to his hair after you pulled away from his hug, sending a flying kiss to him as you disappeared behind the front door. Today, all you’re talking about is Mark, Mark’s car, Mark’s family, Mark’s school, Mark’s fucking hairstyle, and all Sunwoo can do is either rip out all of his hair, or fantasize about ripping out Mark Lee’s instead– strand by strand, slowly, mercilessly.
“Whatever,” he comments, shaking his head at you. After many months of being friends with you, he should be immune to your charms. The more time he spends with you, though, the more unarmed he seems to be to your enchanting magnetism. You’re not nice to his heart, but up until this moment, he kinda liked the tug of war over yours.
The moment drags itself along before he hears you sigh from somewhere in front of him, frustration so evident in the sound. Sunwoo doesn’t really know what you have to be so infuriated about, since as far as he’s aware, he’s the one left cold and unwanted in the comfort of your room that smells deadly of your perfume (that’s so hard to shake off sometimes, yet he can’t find it in him to hate the sweet scent), but as he looks up to meet your eye, he chokes on his own spit at the image that meets his eye.
“You still don’t know how to play that riff, do you?” you click your tongue, shaking your head. It’s not the action that leaves Sunwoo feeling warmer than before, sweat almost comically appearing on his forehead– the image of you in only last remains of your school uniform does, though, as his eyes unashamedly scan the lengths of your now uncovered legs up your thighs to the curve of your bum, visible as you stare at him sideways, soft skin only slightly covered by the tinge oversized white button-down, red lace peeking out, piercing his gaze.
The boy silently shakes his head, licking his lips in a scattered manner. “Nope,” he admits, letting the last syllable pop in the now silent room, blood rushing to his ears as you stride forward and reach his position in your bedsheets.
“It’s really easy,” you huff, “you just– wait, let me show you,” you start, almost making the boy offer your own guitar back to you, before he watches you climb into the bed behind him, making his breathing hitch in his throat.
This is not at all what he expected you to do, he recognises when he feels your breathing on his neck as you lean over him, thighs straddling his back and pressing into his sides when you kneel on the mattress behind his back in order to have the best vision of the guitar. Sunwoo’s hands slip off the instrument when he finds your head next to his, your arms sneaking around his figure to press the chords down with your digits instead, strumming the strings and caging the boy into your scent and the flush of your muscles, forcing him to watch the little tutorial from first point of view. Your fingers move skillfully against the strings, having played that exact riff many times before (which is also why Sunwoo decided to pick it up, for it reminded him of the afternoons spent in the comfort of your room, laying on the rug in the middle of the floor as you played him your favorite songs), and he can’t help but feel the hair on the back of his neck stand up when your breath meets the side of his face.
“Clearer now?”
“Mhm,” he gulps, nodding. He’s too afraid to turn his head, too scared to see your face so from up close and not instinctively trail his gaze to your lips (of which curves have been sculpted in the heaven, he thinks), and so he only results to taking ahold of the guitar again, battling the reality of having your naked legs pressing into him from behind, fighting the image of your underwear out of his head to the best of his abilities.
He tries to mimic the position of your fingers on the guitar, but the fact that he remembered it wrong (or just was too distracted by his surroundings to really take the information in) is set out to him when you quickly take ahold of his hand, left palm glazing his to move his ring finger to the right position. “Here,” you hum, “that’s the problem. You keep pressing it on the 3rd fret instead of the 4th and that’s why it sounded so weird,” you laugh, the vibration of it against his back making Sunwoo feel like he’s being pumped with pure electricity, fireflies filling his stomach.
“I think it’s too fast for me to keep up with,” he complains, managing to drag a coherent sentence out of his mouth.
“I’ll pluck the strings for you,” you offer, voice saccharine right in his ear, “just try to get the chord patterns down.”
The boy nods, forcing the snapshots of the chord placements to the front of his brain, both begging to get it right so you end your little intimate tutoring session and also hoping he messes up again just to have you scold him and forcefully dragging his fingers to the correct strings– having Sunwoo pathetically yearning for the slightest of your touches. The heartbeat ringing in his own ears serves him as a metronome, and as he chews on the inside of his cheek when he starts, his head spins with the intoxication of your scent, making it hard for him to focus on the tune.
“You got it wrong again,” you hiss into his ear, making goosebumps appear all over his skin. Oh, how mean you are– completely aware of the effect you have on the boy. He’s starting to think you love the idea of torturing him. It must be fun to have someone so under your spell, so drunk on your bare existence.
“I’ll practice more until our next tutoring,” he gulps, laughing airly as you let go of him and move away, letting the poor boy finally breathe.
“You better,” you snicker, standing up and walking back over to your opened closet, bending over to pick up your discarded skirt off the ground and offering the boy a clear view of your bum from where he’s sitting on your bed. Now, there’s no denying you like to tease him. And Sunwoo is aware he might get burned, but like a little boy, he kind of enjoys playing with fire. “Or I’ll start to think you are enjoying my lessons a little too much.”
“Only the ones where you get all angry with me,” he notes, placing the guitar next to him on the bed, his palms now too sweaty to continue playing. “You’re kind of hot when you scream at me.”
Throwing a playful look over your shoulder at the boy, making the first two buttons of your blouse undone, a chuckle leaves your throat. “You’re not the first one to tell me that, sweetheart,” you note. “Now leave my room, you pervert. It’s almost 5 and I have to change.”
Defeated, but still obedient, Sunwoo stands up from your bed and takes slow steps towards the door, dreading his departure. The idea of Mark Lee getting to enjoy this side of you makes Sunwoo particularly green, but the feelings quickly fade when he remembers the moments from a few seconds ago, when he thinks back to the softness of your skin. Before he has the chance to leave, though, a tug on his tie yanks him towards you– the school uniform still covering his body from when he walked home with you two hours ago, carrying both of your bags,  proving as an effective attire for your afternoon hangouts.
Pulling him down so your faces are on the same level, the tips of your noses almost touching, has Sunwoo’s shocked eyes grow comically wide and his cheeks burn a crimson red. He feels your breathing fan his lips from the proximity, heart once again running a marathon in his chest when your voice purrs out in a feline-like manner, riling him up. “Always tugging on those strings, but I'll have you know, Sunwoo, you tug on mine all the time,” you grin, gaze only momentarily slipping towards his chapped lips.
Oh, you’re not nice. You’re pretty fucking far from nice– from how you’re playing with his heart, leading him on.
Or are you not…? He guesses he’ll have to find out.
You're a far better guitar player than Sunwoo is, but if you ever wanted a new instrument to perfect, he is more than willing to offer you his body to practice on.

hi guys! i wanted to clear up something that has been coming up amidst piwontober 24’, apologies if my tone is a bit harsh but it’s been frustrating!
me, as well as some writers a part of the event have been receiving some not so kind inbox submissions, mostly about certain days of piwontober being late according to the schedule. i thought me posting that day 5 had been delayed would have been the end of it, but clearly not.
if you take a look at the masterlist, the tagged writers have changed about a dozen times. this is because people have dropped out due to circumstances out of their control—technical issues, mental health, etc..
it’s honestly a bit tone deaf to act as if this event was specifically made for you. rach and i wanted to start a kinktober event specifically for p1harmony, but we just as easily could have kept the fics in between the writers, but we’re choosing to publish them out to yall because we want to. we don’t owe you anything i fear! if you’re so angry about fics being posted late, go ahead and write your own fics 💟
it’s just annoying because life happens and you would think people would be more understanding of that, but i guess not. would you rather the writer of that day post a shitty smut fic that was written in 2 hours … or would you rather wait to have a longer fic with higher quality? ding ding ding! the correct answer is the latter.
please be more mindful lol
day 5 intak fic was not originally assigned to me but i had to take over 2 days ago, it’ll be posted today

the annoyance with blk y/n and the stories she’s in is hilarious. her characteristics might be the problem one day or her side characters the next. it legit feels like we may never get to a balanced solution on what to do with our own representation since the wrong ppl always talk about it and create it. we have mean and shallow ppl who take over the conversation, ppl who really self hate but try and cover it up with “i just don’t want her to be a stereotype” and then the ones who probably love and support tyler perry movies.
the bottom line is the ppl who do write those niggafying, toxic (it’s a buzzword but that’s what they are) or smutty fics (not talking abt the actual good ones with a blk reader though 🧎🏽‍♀️) can do wtv they want and owe you nothing. that’s why they get so frustrated. i don’t think all the times those should be crucified for what they write when other groups of ppl (or our own) write all kinds of other crazy shit.
and.. i know a lot of ppl who don’t want to say it but y’all keep bringing up the smut and niggafying as the main problem, but i think it’s some of the ppl writing it and their underlings. it’s just no one wants to say anything.
Tumblr media
an excerpt from a draft of mine
“a lot of ppl on here be weirdos or mean asl. so when someone block you don’t be like “oh what i did” “they that mad cause of my (internet—fictional—digital on screen) presence”
like nobody got time to go to your acc and say “i don’t like you” who cares. oddly some miserable ppl do actually but still. the lack of awareness is ridiculous. that’s why ppl don’t f with y’all.”
i was talking abt all of tumblr and every other app but it applies here.
from what i see on here, some are just straight up weird, cliquey, and chiesty (if that’s how you spell it) and that’s why ppl be so mad abt those types of books 💀. we also have to acknowledge the amount of overwhelming & honestly damaging blk yn fics (not to be confused with ppls screwed ideas of stereotypical) there are. i understand why ppl write them for personal reasons but when it comes to our own reflections of ourselves as blk women it’s almost hurtful to read some of the things people put “her” through. i mean even her with a white man that use aave and has cornrows is hurtful.. 😔 (i’m trolling now 💀) naw but fr. i personally don’t like reading blk women just being written for smut or going through crazy situations or kinda like.. i don’t wanna say unfulfilling but like.. idk i can’t think of the word. (edit: ppl write blk yn to be in unfulfilling situations) but girl i can watch a tyler perry movie for all that.
again. ppl write these stories for there own personal reasons, relate to them and enjoy them for those reasons as well. that’s why depending! on what it is i don’t think blk writers should be bombarded with hate like that. also ion think smut should be banned like y’all go to far can we just slow down on it … there are some nice ones out there i promise 🧎🏽‍♀️
but in all seriousness there are many other reasons why i feel toxic and smutty fics are popular for blk yn but i don’t think anyone cares to hear that and the conversion will prolly go back to nigga eren somehow which is crazy cause y’all be arguing over a fictional white man.
Tumblr media
oh! 😒 i almost forgot 😒 the ppl who are against “ghetto” y/n to try and advocate for more fluffy or like.. normal (healing) stories and from what i see the ppl who are the most up in arms about it in my personal opinion seem to dislike certain parts of blkness that i appreciate personally and so i just straight up disregard their opinions. y/n doesn’t have to “act” (😒) blk but i see ppl get mad about her protecting her hair….. with a bonnet….
Tumblr media
sigh, anyway but yeah we need more soft and sweet fics or just like calming ones? but someone gon have to write it! i don’t like this app or my writing all too much so i gave up a while ago.
Tumblr media
just like many other blk writers….
gaspp! we should also do like a fluff challenge or sumn where writers do like fluff … march? girl idk so maybe that will trend and all the ppl who spend time arguing and going back and forth with ppl who write stories they don’t like can like idk look for other writers who write soft, normal, fun stories and reblog them or make a list of them. or maybe like possibly write their own stories too????
Tumblr media
everyone says the smut fics gets the most likes and they do. that’s why you keep seeing them. so maybe support or refreakingblog the fics that are comforting to you so others can be as well.
i actually made this page to repost softer fics because i was tired of blocking certain tags so i can avoid heavy smut and subtly abuse fics. also pls leave the ppl who niggafy anime characters alone they will not be stopped. i mean we still have ppl who have been calling chris evans jamal since 2020.. calling him that to this date. married and all.
sigh… 2 more days until blk history month ends. maybe next year we can find a balance between “dramatic” and smutty fics and soft and slice of life ones for blk y/n next year. remember this is tumblr too and the ppl writing aren’t even getting paid for this but it’s for the ppl yk.
ppl who are respectful and reblog tho.

why do Larissa writers always have to give her a dick ? I swear lesbians on here don’t know how to have sex without a dick involved and it’s annoying
I am the worst person you could have complained about this to tbh. I haven’t had the time to read anything on here lately so I’m not sure if there’s an affluence of g!p fics or not but even if that’s the case… I honestly couldn’t care less.
I’m attracted to both genders, so writers giving Larissa a shapeshifted cock isn’t an issue for me. I obviously can’t speak for lesbians as I’m not one but maybe remember that not all writers here are lesbians? Some people like cocks and are allowed to include that in their stuff?
Idk what to tell you except learn how to filter your experience on this app. If you don’t like something just scroll past it, block hashtags, etc etc. And if you can’t find anything palatable to you in what’s being published here, nothing’s stopping you from writing your own stories. Those writers you’re talking about don’t owe you anything. Have a good day!

i sent you a bunch of compliments and overall positive feedbacks because i always liked your work and even requested a fic once or twice and never got a reply back…
seems kinda stupid to me to say shit like “your feedback matters” “please send me requests” “please be nice to me” if youre not gonna bother to answer it lol
if you dont wanna reply to anons, thats fine, just don’t pretend you do
hi anon! it seems like you've forgotten that i'm a real person who 1. has feelings and 2. has a life outside of social media.
i get a lot of anons and every so often i'll go through and answer some of them, but i don't want to clog people's dashboards with a bunch of asks, so i'm not able to answer all of them. as for your requests, my policy on requests has always been that they are not guaranteed, but you can go through my anon tag and see that i respond to anons frequently. you're the only one who's ever complained to me about it, so maybe it's just a you problem.
say it with me now, anon. fanfic writers do this for free, they do not owe you anything.

I don't think writers understand how annoying it is to not be on track with updating there fics. It sucks when you're invested in something and its never updated or even given a reason why its not been updated. I loved your fic but its not worth waiting around for. Commit to it or don't start it in the first place
yikes 😅 i debated on whether i wanted to give this any amount of my time or not. but, why not. for the sake of defending other writers who’ve encountered this, here we go. 🫡
not a single writer on here truly owes you anything. we do it because we love to. & for most of us, it’s nothing more than a hobby that we’re incredibly passionate about. some of us, (myself included) work full time & go to school full time. we have real lives outside of the stories we create. if i (& i’m sure i speak for a lot of us when i say this) could make writing my full time job, i would in a heart beat. unfortunately, that’s not quite in the cards for me. 😔 i’m sorry to have disappointed you. i’m only human, after all. a human with real life struggles & a rather turbulent mental health.
i love my readers, & to think i’ve disappointed anyone truly feels like a punch to the gut. however, please don’t hold me (or any other writer) to a standard that i simply cannot meet. i’m sorry to hear that my story is no longer worth your time. but, a story like this (assuming you’re referring to le morte d’arthur) does take a lot of time to create.
to those who still support me, even though i’ve taken some time away, please know that it means the whole world to me. all of this said, chapter 5 is still being written. i can’t say for sure when it’ll be posted, but it won’t be much longer. thank you for hanging in there with me. 🤍

Oh, fuck ALL of you.
FINE.
It's happening.
But just so y'all know I am not a fast writer. This will probably take a while.
I'll reblog this post when the first chapter is done. Until then:
TW: blood, implied cannibalism (Alastor), copious amounts of swearing
“Now, now, don’t be so hasty.” The demon's form dissolved into shadow and reappeared just over his left shoulder, clawed hand gripping the other with deceptive lightness. “Before I agree to anything, I want to know the terms of this little... arrangement.” Lucifer barely suppressed a shiver as Alastor leaned down, arm sliding smoothly to drape across his shoulders, distorted voice echoing right next to his ear. “I'd also want to make sure what you're offering is worth the price.” Lucifer leaned away just far enough to escape the breath ghosting across his neck, ignoring the way his body was reacting to the proximity, and glared at him out of the corner of his eye. “And how do you plan to do that?” Instead of answering, Alastor pulled back. The motion too abrupt — too unexpected for him to notice the flash of silver appearing in the hand draped over his shoulders- “OW!” Lucifer's wings snapped out on instinct as he jerked away, which would have sent the demon behind him flying if the bastard hadn’t vanished a split second before. A hand flew up to press against the stinging gash on his cheek, the sudden pain making him hiss. When he pulled away to look, his glove was smeared with golden blood. “What the fuck?!?” He snapped, glaring at the corner of the room where the shadows were gathering back into the now smug looking form of the Radio Demon. “I told you. I want the terms,” Alastor lifted a hand, waving a small angelic dagger — with a damning splash of gold edging one side of the blade — in his direction. “And I wanted a taste.” Lucifer growled, power flaring up enough to make his eyes flash red. “You’re a real piece of shit, you know that?” The insufferable asshole just smiled wider.
@polytheatrix @masterfoxpin @larilori @ouijarat @cool-dude-819 @radiodevil @slopdoughnut @dr-carew-jekyll @awesamkiller @writing-biting <<< blaming you guys specifically for this.
Can't believe I got peer-pressured into writing a dom/sub fic for an asexual cannibal serial killer and the devil. What the fuck even is this website

Keep fandoms alive, comment on more fanfics!
The do‘s and don’ts of fic reviews
Because a friend told me she never knows what to write and then never comments, but wants to learn how to do better, I thought I’d compile a list, and maybe it will help someone else as well!
As always, this is unofficial and just from my personal experience writing and reading fic, and talking with other fic authors.
My posts on beta reading | ao3 bookmarks
What to comment
Honestly, authors love friendly comments, no matter how small. Here are some ideas for short comments you can write to pretty much any fic you enjoyed:
I loved it!
Great fic!
Thanks for writing this!
Thanks for sharing your fic with the fandom :)
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ 10/10 perfection
So happy I found this!
Reading this made my day
I had fun reading this
You’re a great writer!
Love your writing style
<3<3<3
Amazing!
Kudos!
If you want to write something a bit longer, you can for example
Tell the author where you have been reading the fic or what you were doing while reading it
Tell the author what you should have been doing instead of reading fanfic (and that it was worth it to read the fic)
Copy a passage (or several) from the fic you particularly enjoyed
Did the author write a note at the end or beginning of the fic? Maybe even ask a question? Sometimes you can reply to author’s notes in your comment
How did the fic make you feel? Happy, made you cry, made you laugh, made you jealous of a character, or made you want to punch an antagonistic character’s nose in? Write it in the comment!
Is it your first fic in a fandom or with a ship? Your favorite fic in a fandom, or with a specific character? Did you read it in one go? Did you savour it slowly reading over days or weeks? Have you enjoyed every update of a multi-chapter? Do you wish you could read it again for the first time? Write anything you want to let the author know about your reading experience!
Is there a character you particularly enjoyed in that fic/chapter? Tell the author you think they wrote xy character really well!
You can always start or finish your comment with one of the suggestions from the short comments to make sure the author knows you liked it :)
If you really don’t know what to write, or are reading fic in a language not your own (though authors usually don’t mind you commenting in your native language) and aren’t comfortable commenting in either language, you can also leave emojis as comments, for example variations of:
for any fics:❤️💕💜💗💞💓💖💟🤩😍🥰
for humor fics: 😂😆🤣🤪💯
for shippy fics/getting together: 🎉💖🥳💋💘💏👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨💑👩‍❤️‍👩👨‍❤️‍👨🫶
for angst or hurt no comort: 🥹😭🤯😱🫣😢💔❣️❤️‍🩹🖤 maybe still include a ❤️heart in there so the author can be sure you still liked it!
for smut/pwp: ❤️‍🔥💯🫣😋🤩🥵😈🤯🫦
There are even some stickers you can comment by copying the html! A few tumblr posts with stickers to copy can be found here & here!
Don’ts
There isn’t much you can do wrong when writing comments on fic, but there are a few things you should keep in mind:
don’t criticize (unless negative critics/what they can do better has been specifically asked for by the author, and then stick to the kind of criticism asked for, and best try to include something positive too to soften the blow)
don’t demand more/ask for updates - you can tell the author you’d read it if they wrote more, but don’t put pressure on them, you don’t know what’s happening in their lives right now and for what reason new entries might have slowed down, and they don’t owe you regular or any updates!
don’t tell them what to write (unless the author is taking prompts, and in most cases the comment section is not the right place for prompts, check what the author specified)
Remember: Fan fiction are free, from fans for fans, so etiquette is a bit different than in the Amazon reviews of books you paid good money for! Fic authors don’t have to cater to you, just enjoy that there are fics shared with the fandom :) If you don’t like something, or don’t like a part of something, either close the tab or quietly ignore the issue and just enjoy the parts you do like.
And in general, to end this on a positive note:
Yes, you can comment on older fanfics!
Yes, comment on several fics in a row if you’re reading through fics by one author!
Yes, comment on as many chapters of the same fic as you like!
Yes, you can make art for the fic and tell the author about it!
Yes, absolutely tell the author if you’re still thinking about a fic hours/days/years… after reading it!
Yes, send authors asks on tumblr/other sites talking about how you love their fics, if they link these sites in the author’s notes! (But also comment on Ao3)
Yes, you can comment/review even if you don’t have an account (at least on Ao3 and ffnet)!
Yes, please let the author know if you’re reading a fic for a second time, even if you just write ‘re-read kudos!’
The best comments are also written directly on the site the fanfiction got posted on (so usually ao3/ffnet and not tumblr/discord), both because it makes the note count higher, and because then the comment won’t quickly get buried under unrelated messages or posts.
If you want to leave long comments about different parts of a fic or chapter, you can also make use of the floating Ao3 comment box! It allows you to type your comment while you're still reading, without having to leave the page!
Some more kinds of comments on another post

All of you assholes getting mad at zar for deleting their fics suck and are part of the reason that they did. Fanfic writers don’t owe you anything. You read their books for FREE. You have no right to demand they post more or be in any way rude. Stop acting like childish 8 year old and grow tf up. Some really good fanfics are gone. You’ll survive. There are thousands of marauders era fics you can still read. Stop being shitty people and allow other to do what they need for their mental health.

ok let’s have a WIP chat. 🚶🏽‍♀️‍➡️🪑📚
what do we owe each other? or rather, what do i owe you? i’ve been thinking about this a lot in the last few weeks, because the answer to that affects what i post and how i post it.
i wanted to post the haunting fic this month, maybe, but it’s a little heavier than my usual fare, and while that doesn’t bother me, the writer, i guess i just overthink the like. reality of being a fic writer in a niche/genre that is built on love stories, you know? is the haunting fic a love story? yeah. but i’m just… idk, i think i’m just kinda like ehhhhhh over the fact that maybe it’s not the love story we necessarily need right now, LOL. also it’s like, peak summer for me, which is very anti-haunting vibes, however, that might make it peak-posting time for our friends in non-southern-hemisphere countries? but then is that coming back around to like, the whole, “do i post a downer of a fic when my friends are emotionally vulnerable and at the mercy of seasonal depression?” LOL. but then that implies that i don’t trust you guys to know yourselves well enough to make the judgement call you need to……… LMAOOOO sorry guys, you’re getting all this dumped on you bc my friends aren’t TALKING TO MEEEE REEEEEE (but also this is like, a great sampler of what it’s like to be my friend so hey, maybe this is kinda like an audition?).
honestly this kind of overthinking is probably why it takes me so long to post anything LOL. i’m just kinda like uhh ehhh ahhh mmmm hmmm most of the time LOL. but anyways, part of me is just like, okay girl, you just gotta leave tumblr for the summer and go write the shouto fic LOL. but also that’s me lying to you, because i wouldn’t leave tumblr and i wouldn’t be working on the shouto fic LOL, what i really wanna do is the gravity falls fic. 🥹👉🏽👈🏽 and that’s for a couple of reasons: the hyperfixation is HOT at the moment, time to strike, etc etc, and also because i’ve decided that whenever i do post it, it needs to be already done in it’s entirety, so that it’s not dependant on like—you know!! the inherent motivation that comes with it being read by others. idk guys. 😩 i talk myself in circles about this. because like, okay—let’s say i manage to finish the wholeeee fic, and i post it, what does an apology present to our non-interested GF friends look like? LOL. like, do i write the GF fic, and then quickly follow that up with a chapter of the shouto fic, so there’s something for everyone? do i try and sandwich things? haunting one-shot, GF fic, shouto chapter? i know i KNOW “do what you want merms” i KNOWWW, the problem is that i. want to do everything. 🥹 and also it takes me time to deliver those things. 🥺 slowmaxxing, as our beloved starry likes to say. 🥹 but it means i kinda have to… choose wisely, right? because of the literal time we’re spending??? and then that brings me to a decision paralysis ig LOL. love life love creating i would not trade this for the world it’s fine it’s fun it’s fine.

Stop and read please ❤️
Lmfao first post on this account (deleted the one I used to post fics on so nobody better come at me with “you don’t post you shouldn’t have an opinion) I’ve been here for 2 years now (I’m about to be 19 and wasn’t always reading smut for context) and I just have a few opinions I wanna share
The way yall treat TLOU fanfic writers (specifically Abby and Ellie writers) is so disgusting 💀
People are allowed to write smut or any other form of fanfiction without being labeled a porn “addict” and having insults thrown at them. You people label anything you slightly dislike as wrong and it’s so weird. YOU ARE WEIRD.
You people seriously wouldn’t last a on Ao3.
I definitely don’t disagree in regards to the fact that there’s a lot of smut on both tags HOWEVER SCROLL. I’m saying this as someone who breathes for angst.
You all seriously need to get a grip. People go around here with MDNI and “18+”
On their accounts and then act like CHILDREN.
On another note if an author doesn’t make a y/n look like you then don’t read it, or replace details in your head as you read. I’m coming to you as a mixed poc who’s goth. I promise you I’ve been there and I’ve learned to just change the details, it isn’t hard.
Nobody owes anyone inclusivity in fanfics. If you want something you write it, you don’t complain like an entitled child.
You need to grow up. Bullying authors on here is so painfully fucked- I’ve seen the annons and the comments you people leave, it’s genuinely disgusting.
People will ALWAYS miss the point of a character and sexualize them- but you scroll!
I’ve seen countless amazing writers get bullied off this app and given that it’s been two years of this- I’m exhausted.
If anyone has a bone to pick then comment, but I’m seriously so sick of seeing grown people act like children in these tags holyyyyyy-
-An ex writer
❤️
