And then, of course, everything gets more complicated when Sybok starts appearing in his dreams...

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

I love that he is so passionate about studying things!!!! Like he's like "yeah Jim I'll go on this suicide mission to study this giant space amoeba no problem!!!" And "wow Jim this guy's mind is a mess lemme look inside pretty please?" The BEST

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

I feel like all of "my" headcanons about Kirk are ones that @/lenievi has because I love her interpretation of Kirk 😄 I guess another one I have is that he loves written text, and so do McCoy and Spock, but none of them have the same interests when it comes to written text so they all exchange books/other writings that they enjoy

13. What's an emoji, an emoticon, and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot?

Ever since reading @/dahyeltal's fic, I've been obsessed with Spock using ✌🏻 as an equivalent to the Vulcan kiss. Otherwise, I don't see him as much of an emoji guy, until he throws one in randomly to tease/throw someone off.

The easy one otherwise I guess is 🖖🏻 LOL

Do you like Doctor McCoy? Do you like Spones? Have you always felt a little uncomfortable that the Kobayashi Maru was truly a no-win scenario with the Klingons? This fic is for you!

I was reminded about this fic the other day, and I don't think I've ever shared it on my Tumblr. I wrote it after rewatching ST09 and feeling mighty uncomfortable that Spock—someone who's had to navigate prejudices since birth—would write a scenario where the Klingons would 100% refuse to allow anyone to rescue a civilian ship. In this fic, McCoy figures out that the scenario had a clear path to victory...as long as you didn't use weapons or violence.

Note: This is part of a series, but it's not important to read them all. It's a set of loosely connected fics where the triumvirate learns things about each other during chess night.

Spock giving McCoy his katra is a part of @dahyeltal's fic All Things Left Unsaid. It's still a wip and while I haven't read it, from what I remember, it's only a thing at the beginning of the fic (and idk if it's what you're looking for exactly). It's spones.

do you know if there are any existing fics set in aos where the spock transferring his katra to mccoy happens ? or do i have to write this myself

Letters From a Great Man

Hello friends! I’ve been doing a lot of Trektober updates, mostly for my comfort ship McPike. Today I bring you a combination of my two ship loves! Spones sit down to read some old McPike letters, and Spock learns how deeply McPike’s love was...and perhaps how long McCoy has loved him. (Special thanks to Suess for the idea!)

I took this theme of Love Letters as a way to play with the visual experiences of my fics. I used CSS from here and I will likely be modifying them in the future to get a more Treky feel. CSS is one of my favorites, and I’d like to challenge myself to come up with a communicator-style visual in the near future.

As for the content itself, and the reason I love McPike, I wrote this to add more depth to my McCoy’s history with Pike. If you’ve read any of my work, you’ve likely seen me reference this past relationship. Whether they went onto get married, or decided to call it quits before it got too deep, I like McPike.

I feel like their personalities would go wonderfully together, and wish they had more screen time in AOS. Here’s hoping we get a McCoy cameo in SNW and he has a chance to flirt debate with Spock and flirt have a meal with Pike.

Leonard smiled, though he knew it didn’t reach his eyes. The letter stirred up a mountain of emotion in his chest, and he had to set it down somewhere. Anywhere. Tears would smudge the ink and ruin it forever if he didn’t. Luckily Spock was there to save the day. He plucked the letter out of his hand and set it carefully on the nightstand before nudging Leonard to sit on the bed.

“You… like dancing?” Spock started softly and cocked his head to the side, his usual inquiry stance. “I was not aware.”
