Sports galas are so goofy

Watching galas for achievements in sports, you realize that these people are NOT entertainers and that's how it should be. I hope they stay cringe and a little boring cause we have enough obnoxious celebs who can give us a different flavor of cringe. I love that a lot of athletes are just normal dudes and gals who are doing their thing and live in their own world. Bring back the unhinged nature of them, we need less media circus training fr

Presenter 1: "Lewis Hamilton. Congratulations, and thank you for joining us here in Baku. If you'd like to accept your trophy… There we go! Thank you very much! Now, as how we mentioned, it wasn't the easiest of seasons for Mercedes, but you pushed through nonetheless. What are some positives that you're hoping to take forward into 2024?" Lewis: "Well, good evening, everyone. I just wanna wish everyone a big, big congratulations on this year. It's been amazing to see so many of you fighting in the different series that you've been in, and congratulations on your awards. For everyone it's been a very, very long season and very much looking forward to a winter break, but working very, very hard on making sure we're fit, we come back strong next year. Have to say a big congratulations to Red Bull, and to Max and Checo. They've done an incredible job this year. Max was faultless. The team really raised the bar and we have a lot of work to close that gap, but I truly do believe that we can close that gap. And so a big, big thank you also to my team, 'cause they never gave up this year. We started off with the sister, basically, of the previous year's car, which was not good and not fun to drive for most of the year, but no one gave up. Everyone continued to show up every day, and that was what was most inspiring for me, and so I hope that we come back next year and we give it everything and I hope all of you do, too. So yeah, might not say anything, but just wanna wish you all a merry Christmas and wish you a happy new year with your family and friends, and we'll see you in the new year."
