Do you have an update schedule?

Not really. Sometimes it's once a week, sometimes twice, sometimes not for weeks (though I try to only do that in between projects), it really depends on the hyperfixation.

How do you write so much?

I get super anxious about starting things and not finishing them (and then having people asking me about them) so I try to write ahead before posting, so it isn't always in real time. I do however write on average (based on year to date) 2.5k words a day, which I guess is a lot for most people? The simple answer is I don't work full time and I try to write everyday.

What's your writing process?

I prefer writing either in the morning or later at night. I always write in bed, propped up against the headboard. Sometimes if I'm home alone I'll venture out to the kitchen and feel supremely uncomfortable for no reason, so I quickly return to my low-lit cave.

I just write what I'm inspired to write when I'm inspired to write it. I've learned not to force it, that just makes writer's block worse!

Do you have any writing advice?

Can I bind your fic?

At the moment my stance on fic binding is that it’s fine if it’s only for personal use and not for sale, profit, distribution or commission. Please don’t use commercial companies like print houses (due to legal issues). I feel very strongly about fanworks being and remaining free, and the way fic-binding has been commodified recently worries me 💖

Do you allow translations of your work?

You’re bilingual, that’s so cool! I appreciate you asking 💗 I believe in fanfiction being accessible to everyone. I would request however at this time that any translations of my work be kept on AO3—there’s a checkbox you can tick to link it as a translation.

Can I use a scenario in your fic for my own or write something inspired by your fic?

Mostly, yeah. See my in-depth answer/thoughts on this here.

Can I use your characters for a fic of my own?

I respectfully ask you not to at this time. All my original characters from my series' are very close to my heart, especially Remi (the one people ask about the most) and their stories are not yet finished! So there's more you guys don't know about them. At the moment, I'm a bit sensitive about it and I'd like to keep them close. If you do still write something inspired by them, it's also highly likely I won't read it, at least until I'm finished the series. Thanks for understanding.

What else are you working on?

I have a dozen fic ideas for Fourth Wing, at least four of which I've already written bits and pieces of while working on Basgiath (Remi's Version). I don't run on any kind of schedule though, they'll see the light of day when they do and if they don't, then they won't!

I also have two original novels I'm writing, one of which I hope to finish in the next couple of months (it's in the plotting stage!) 🥰

Will you ever come back to ACOTAR?

I plan to at some point, hopefully this year! I just want to get through some of these Fourth Wing ideas while I'm still inspired and eventually I'll come back to write Callie's story and maybe some Feysand, or an Eris fic. It's tough because I've been writing that series in third and my FW works have me in first person mode. I find it very hard to switch between them.

I've long debated how I should answer this. The point is, speaking of books, I'm going to need you to narrow your question down a bit, at least to the genre. Let me know, and I'll see what I can do for you.

There are so many incredible Nessian works out there, so I made a small recs list of some of my favourites below!!

I See You by @iambutmortal is a Nessian Medusa AU that is so insanely hot I find myself thinking about it all the time. She also writes incredible Feysand and Elucien!!

Anything @separatist-apologist writes is pure excellence but her Montana!Cassian, Cowboy Like Me, is in my humble opinion one of the BEST Nessian fics out there. It has everything: hilarious banter, sexy smut and Cassian on a horse. It really doesn't get any better than this.

I have also recently started reading the masterpiece that is Viciousness & Intelligence by @thesistersarcheron and LET ME TELL YOU. The way this fic is making me insane. Nesta x Cassian x Azriel should've been canon, that's all I'm saying.

No one does Nessian like @moodymelanist, and Where The Light Won't Find You has got to be my favourite fic of hers, but they're all so insanely good make sure you check out her masterlist here if you haven't already!

@vulpes-fennec has just started an INCREDIBLE Circus AU, Prythian's Fantasia, and Nessian is one of the featured pairings. The first chapter is already out and I promise you you're in for a TREAT.

@headcanonheadcase, apart from being a sexy Gwynriel writer, also writes VERY sexy Nessian, and I have it on good authority she's currently working on an amazing Hockey AU (and if you like Gwynriel, make sure to check out The Bargain!!)

@fieldofdaisiies writes my FAVOURITE x Reader fics (have you read her Vampire!Elucien?? It single-handedly rewired my brain, I’m just saying), and you can find her Cassian and Nessian works here!!

There are lots of wonderful people who have made (and continue to make) fantastic content for the fandom. Here are some of my favorites, a few of which were also on @the-lonelybarricade‘s list but I wanted to include again. I am in awe of everything by @writtenonreceipts. She has so many lovely fics for ACoTaR (and ToG!), so I don't really have a favorite, but she is amazing. Her writing is beautiful and she always manages to present the characters perfectly. Whatever you choose, you won’t be able to put it down!

@arrowmusings is amazing at handling heavier topics and expressing real life struggles in an accurate way with the strong characters we know and love. Her writing style is so lyrical and elegant you seriously will never get enough.

I promise you will love everything by @emikadreams. She has some delightful feysand fics - both multi chapters and one shots - AND posts her own original poetry (which gives me life). Every bit of what she creates is breathtaking, powerful, and addicting.

I'm very excited that @nomattertheoceans is resuming work on her piece Staying Afloat! That particular fic is very heavy and serious, but she also has some lighter/fluffy one shots which I love to re-read from time to time.

@thehaemanthus is working on an amazing piece titled Our Savaged Souls and I am honestly addicted. Lovely prose and incredible story. And I’m gonna get a little sidetracked here, but she also has two incredible fanfics for Red Rising (which is a painfully underrated series!)

@shyvioletcat has some perfectly fluffy one shots! They're such feel-good fics and I just love them!

@alifletcher2012 has some incredible one shots and multi chapter fics, and I love every one of them. I think my personal favorite it Living, but it’s honestly hard to pick.

Lastly, I love To Deceive a Deceiever by @cuddles-and-chocolate-cake. The chemistry between the characters is so much fun and the plot is really interesting!

What are some of your favorite fanfics? You can only include up to 2 LB fics

I was going to wait to answer this in the morning because it's so daunting an ask. But I have to be in office tomorrow and I know I won't have the time, and then I'll forget about this. It's been a long time since anyone asked me my personal favorites.

I put some of them in yesterday's list of elucien recs, so definitely start here. I have to cross post a little, though. None of these are in order, this is actually not a ranking but the opposite of a ranking in which every one is incredible, and written by very wonderful people worth following.

playgirl, by @damedechance. I love this fic. Lucien has an only fans, Elain moderates his chat. She was the first gwynriel writer I ever read. You know I'm weird about Azriel- I don't really enjoy him, but in bookclub, her fic was being recommended CONSTANTLY and I gave it a shot thinking I'd hate it, and she made me insane. The gwynriel fic is Things You Can't Have, and I suggest reading it, too.

Latch, My Fate is Yours; Latch, My Very Soul is Yours by @labellefleur-sauvage. Elucien mummy au and so beautifully done. The author is also an VERY funny person and I recommend anything she writes (such as her 1920's Neris fic And All That Jazz) on vibes alone.

Our Bodies, Possessed By Light @iftheshoef1tz. Azris at its FINEST. If you like Azriel and Eris as a pairing, and you want something that is both achingly beautiful and well-plotted, this is it. This is the fic. Honestly, even if you don't want that, you should read it anyway. It's sexy, it's funny, it's emotional and it's poetic. I think about this fic (the cabin specifically because I'm slutty) all the time.

Crimson Clover, by @thesistersarcheron. Baby's first elriel fic, I heard the sentence "Elain covered in blood" and dropped everything I was doing to learn more. Elain is, in fact, covered in blood and Azriel is pretty insane about it. This author also has a fic bookclub is obsessed with, Viciousness & Intelligence which is Nesta x Cassian x Azriel in a poly bond and another of my personal favorites, Bejeweled in which Feyre is Night Court fae made entirely of jewels and Rhys is...well...down bad as he always is.

Embers, by @ultadverb is my favorite Morlain fic in the fandom. It's so richly written and such a good exploration of Elain and her feelings. She really does Elain such justice. I have it on VERY good authority she's also working on a little monster elucien, and right after I typed that I saw she's actually posted the first chapter, Seven Tears for the Sea, which is selkie Lucien, coastal Elain, I believe. I will be reading that for sure, just as soon as I finish this list, but everyone else should too!

I Believe the Word You're Looking for is "Friends" by @kingofsummer93. Truly Elucien 101 required reading. It's actually on the made-up syllabus I just created in my mind. If you're wanting to settle into a long fic, canon-compliant, adventure fic, THIS is it. Also, people are always asking for BOE smut, well she has so GRACIOUSLY provided it with The Intimacy of Being Understood

Remember, We're Madly In Love by @velidewrites. Have you ever seen one of those really gorgeous mood boards floating around and asked yourself, is that person also an incredibly sexy writer, too? Well I'm here to answer that question with a resounding YES. This is hunger games Feysand and if you've been thinking about reading it, stop thinking and start doing. I don't know when I became a sales person during this sharing of faves, but here we are I guess.

Vanserra Wildlife Rescue by @headcanonheadcase. In the haze that was elucien week, where everyone was creating and I was trying so hard to see all of it (and failing miserably), this fic was a gem. It's meet cute Elucien- he's a wildlife vet, she finds an injured fox. They're both on their way to a blind date (I wonder who they're meeting), and instead cancel to take care of the fox.

Can't Help It by @moodymelanist. This fic was literally why I decided to answer this anon. Nesta and Cassian are in a very toxic relationship but can't keep away from each other. I LOVE this fic, I love their dynamic and without spoiling it, there is a threesome I am still so deeply unwell about, even to this day.

Wonderland by @c-e-d-dreamer. The premise is SO GOOD. Nesta rejects the mating bond and Cassian rejects society. They reconnect later on, and the angst is SO DELICIOUS.

This list is getting really long- I could do this all day, actually. As for my top two @the-lonelybarricade favorites, which is cruel just fyi.

You Look Like Bad News- Elain's neighbor has an annoying habit of fucking REALLY loudly next door.

And of course,

Let’s start with the oldies, with the wonderful people who have done the good work for the Elain and Lucien falling in love enthusiasts (aka the nicest part of the ACOTAR fandom):

Lovely @highfaelucien has a bunch of amazing fics on their ao3 which (in the off chance you haven’t) you should check out asap. Here are some honorable special mentions:

Winter Stole Summer’s Thrill (T rated, one shot, ≈4k): Based on the prompt: “Remember when you promised we’d always be together? Because I remember when I thought you meant it.” This hurts so good, prepare your hearts (absolutely worth it, though).

Heaven’s Call (E rated, one shot, ≈11k): Chapter 55 Elucien Version. Yes, you read that right. Also, they are both so well characterized! This one is what’s UP.

Undone (E rated, one shot, ≈18k): My dearest friends, have you ever thought “ I’d really love to read eighteen thousand words of Lucien and Elain sinning as the hot regal fae they are?”. Now, now, don’t go all shy on me. We both know you have. And to that I say: Here it is. Feast your eyes. <3

Chasing the Sun (M rated, 4 chapters, ≈19k): I’ve gone back to this one so many times. It’s very heartfelt and the little canon divergent world building here is spot on. Post Acomaf, back when things were simple and pretty. Lovely lovely (also bamf feminine Elain and hot hot hot Lucien).

Moving onto Wondrous Miss @valamerys , who unfortunately is no longer active on the acotar fandom (but is currently writing for the d&d community on her ao3 page) and yet left us a true goldmine. Watch:

Out of Feathers, Out of Bones* (G rated, 3 chapters, ≈6k): An epistolary fic!!!! That on itself would’ve won it a spot on my favorite list but then it has phenomenal characterization and tender beginnings??? I usually don’t read wips because I have abandonment issues but I’m so glad I ignored my own warnings and read it anyway. A treat, truly. I love it loads.

What We Wanted (E rated, one shot, ≈5k): Calanmai sinning. Yep, I know you want to go read it right now. Don’t worry, when you’re back you can finish reading the list. Now, shoo. ;)

Sharp as Glass and Twice as Bright (E rated, 2 chapters, 4k): cutesy ;) bed sharing for the lovebirds. I love Elain in here, and I love Lucien always but here it definitely is.... special. I’ll just leave this in case you need more convincing: ‘“You really are wicked,” Lucien says, a dark, satisfied murmur. “That’s going to get you in trouble someday.”’ Yeah. :)

I’ll be calling the next ones ‘newbies’ because I think it’s cute and not necessarily because they are new to the fandom. However, these are more recent works.

Introducing: Miss @gingerwritess with

Kings, Queens and Vagabonds* (M rated, 17 chapters, ≈60k): Post ACOSF (aka very yummy) with a LOT of gut-wrenching angst. Double check the trigger warnings! This has to be one of my favorite Lucien characterizations. Ever. The earnestness, the pain, his very sad way of thinking, his decisiveness, his indecisiveness, his loyalty. The dialogues get me every single time. Her writing style is stunning and OOF I love this to pieces. It’s definitely one of those stories that make me do a little dance whenever I get a new chapter notification.

From NicciCrowe (who has some gooooood feysand au’s, as well) on ao3 or @asteria-of-mars, we have

I Caught It Bad Yesterday (E rated, one shot, ≈3k): Sneaky link Elucien featuring burning hot love-making. I really liked the writing style, and an extremely relatable Elain. Oh, and some wholesomeness in the end that made me smile like a fool. Kudos all around. 💘💘

As of darling @southsidestory, there is:

The Longest Night (E rated, one shot, ≈8k): Ooooh this was such a good surprise for me because usually I have a hard time liking stories where Lucien and Elain have just one conversation and then have sex. HOWEVER, it was done so seamlessly, so carefully, that I could not not love it. The dialogues were so sweet and the intimacy was beautifully done.

My friend @separatist-apologist also has some lovely works on her ao3. I haven’t had the chance to read all of them but I’m currently reading:

Holy Ground* (E rated, 4 chapters, ≈22k)

The list was done by the first works that came to mind, I have definitely read more Elucien fanfic than these and since it is not unusual for me to forget bookmarking the ones I like, there probably is a bunch I didn’t remember to tag. However, I will update the list as I discover new stories I love.
