Sometimes when I'm birdwatching
#sometimes when i’m birdwatching#things that aren’t birds#carpinteria state beach#it's a toddler's bathing suit#apparently got left behind#after its owner#decided she was Done with it#and her parents#were like#okay#and later#in the last-minute rush of departure#no one remembered it#and later some helpful beachgoer#festooned their driftwood totem with it#that was this morning#i wonder if it's still there#hm#or#on further review#this could be a lot more tragic#I don’t know#I invent stories#but how true are they?
