The famous ‘Sharknose’ alias Ferrari Dino 156 F1 1961 with Phil Hill’s helmet. Hill won the 61 F1 World Championship with this ‘little’ Dino. The 1961 version was affectionately dubbed ‘sharknose’ due to its characteristic air intake ‘nostrils’ and had -at the beginning of the season- a relatively small engine, the V6 65-degree Dino engine. #giclee #gicleeprint #digitalillustration #automotiveart #carartwork #f1illustration #f1poster #f1classic #f1 #f1car #classicf1 #ferrari156 #156sharknose #ferrari156sharknose #ferrari156f1 https://www.instagram.com/p/CizlpWIoPhX/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Ferrari 156 F1 Phil Hill - Italian GP 1961. . So successful was the little Sharknose that it won the first five out of seven races in the Championship, including a 1-2-3-4 finish at Spa. With a driver pairing of Phil Hill and Wolfgang von Tripp, the latter of whom tragically lost his life at the Monza race, the Sharknose delivered the Constructors’ Championship to the Scuderia. Hill also won the Drivers’ Championship in the same year. The 156 continued to be used for two more seasons scoring single wins in 1963 and 1964 respectively. . . . #digitalillustration #photoshop #illustrator #ferrari #ferrari156f1 #156f1 #phillhill #f1 #formula1 #lastcorner #sideview #monochrome #monochromatic #redprint #scuderiaferrari #scuderia #tifosi #italiangrandprix #italiangp https://www.instagram.com/p/CYWM3R_N20K/?utm_medium=tumblr

Ferrari 156 F1 Phil Hill - Italian GP 1961. . The 156 boasted a simple and clever design, with a tubular chassis dressed in aluminium panels. A new lightweight 120-degree V6 engine was developed for the new rules, with the resulting angle of the cylinder blocks providing a lower centre of gravity. . . . #digitalillustration #photoshop #illustrator #ferrari #ferrari156f1 #156f1 #phillhill #f1 #formula1 #lastcorner #sideview #monochrome #monochromatic #redprint #scuderiaferrari #scuderia #tifosi #italiangrandprix #italiangp https://www.instagram.com/p/CYTiQV-NU-6/?utm_medium=tumblr

#2 Phil Hill Italian Grand Prix version The evocative Ferrari 156 F1 Sharknose, so called due to its unusual front air vents, was Ferrari’s first Formula One machine with the engine positioned behind the driver. The result of a brief given by Ferrari to new Technical Director, Carlo Chiti with the clear instruction to create a car capable of winning the Formula One World Championship for the Scuderia under new, downsized 1.5 litre engine regulations, the Sharknose did not disappoint. . . . #digitalillustration #photoshop #illustrator #ferrari #ferrari156f1 #156f1 #phillhill #f1 #formula1 #lastcorner #sideview #monochrome #monochromatic #redprint #scuderiaferrari #scuderia #tifosi #italiangrandprix #italiagp https://www.instagram.com/p/CYRAtLrNvbz/?utm_medium=tumblr
