realistic: the reason some people can read his emotions after he blinks is because that’s a semi-conscious thing he does to indicate a change in expression! his facial expressions are usually very subtle and he has resting bitch face [affectionate] so it can be hard to tell if anything is different, but the deliberate blink is basically a signal that something’s definitely changed - most people realise this after interacting with him for a while, whether consciously or not, so he’s fairly used to relying on it as a means of communicating how he feels. add that one to the unconventional and epic emotional cues list

funny: ferb is just as into making fun of britain as his non british friends in a very self aware way and as much as he unironically likes most of the culture he’s always the first to absolutely tear into awful british food or exhaustingly stupid cultural norms. he and buford regularly text each other shitty british recipes to watch the other have a stroke over it. sometimes when nobody has said anything for a while he’ll randomly go ‘so what you lot call this thing an elevator instead of a lifty drifty up and down and all around praise the queen industrial revolutioniser’ and phineas will lose his shit. the only exception is haggis. don’t fucking talk shit on haggis

heart crushing: ok you know how in really early pnf there was a running gag of ferb starting to say something and then getting interrupted but it never became a consistent part of the formula and was dead by mid season 2 ish because every day i think about that. ferb fucking HATES that. it genuinely takes a lot of effort for him to translate his thoughts into words and say them out loud and it really upsets him when he’s interrupted or ignored more than it would someone who doesn’t have that mental barrier between thinking something and saying it. his friends have all picked up on this and it’s become an unspoken rule of The Gang that when ferb talks everyone stops and listens, but neurotypicals some people don’t understand not to talk over him and it puts him in the absolute worst mood. let him SPEAK damn it i’m so mad about this that i wrote an entire fic about it

fuck canon: to be honest i don’t have much trouble with canon ferb, he’s a lovely little guy, but act your age is a bad cringe fail episode because adult ferb wasn’t 2 metres tall and built like a brick wall. he hits a growth spurt in his early to mid teens and within the first year he’s physically capable of picking phineas up with one hand. one of these days i’ll get my shit together and actually draw what i mean but please accept Lorge ferb into your heart i promise it is worth it

we all have those people we follow who half of the reason we follow them is because they have the most bizarre and hyperspecific shit that they’re really into and it’s just like this weird spectator sport where you watch someone wholly commit to something that’s not even on your radar a little bit and i hope that that’s me and my phineas and ferbposting for some of you guys
