*wakes up* wait a minute I have a theory on how Blade became immortal

In 1.2, Fake Tingyun talks about an Emanator of Abundance who destroyed half of the Luofu, centuries ago

I think this Emanator is Shuhu, the one who attacked the Yuque in the past

Why Shuhu? Why not someone else?

That’s because Blade’s passive skill, the one that allows him to heal himself when he gets hit give times, is called Gift of Shuhu

So my theory is that Shuhu attacked the Luofu > Blade gets wounded and infected by his power > he’s on the brink of death > Dan Feng refuses to let him die > he gives Blade his heart, a dragon’s heart, to save his life (this is from the leaks btw) > the power of the Scion of Permanence stabilizes Blade’s state, but he’s still corrupted by Shuhu (hence the Gift of Shuhu passive skill) > Blade is now immortal against his will (‘turning the beloved into an abomination’)

To go back to the dragon’s heart, some Sanctus Medicus dude remarks in 1.1 that Bailu doesn’t have have it, despite being the new High Elder. But DH doesn’t have it either, or else he would have been immensely more powerful than what we saw in 1.2

I don’t know where HSR is going with this, but I have to say it’s VERY interesting that Xingxue/Guangda is almost an identical mirror of Renheng.

So you have two men who have known each other for centuries. They like to fight each other in friendly matches as a way of improving themselves (‘game of cat and mouse’). Their ‘special’ relationship is built on longing and devotion (the phrase ‘birds of the same feather flock together’ is relevant here). Xingxue will say it’s only admiration but the way he cried about missing Guangda, I don’t really believe him. By the way, Guangda is described as a strange, detached man who gets fired up when he sees Xingxue. He’s also called a ‘predator’…

DH and Blade both describe each other as monsters by using eyes metaphors. Eyes which are the window to the soul, as the poets say (‘the man with beastly eyes’ and ‘the cruelty hidden behind his emerald eyes’). But we (players) are meant to sympathize more with DH and we’re more inclined to take his side, not only because we’ve spent more time with him, but because even Blade’s own character story depicts DH as a victim

There’s a such a big disconnect between what the ‘omniscient narrator’ is describing and what Blade thinks of the situation. It’s fascinating (and sad). You get stuff like ‘the teenager was trembling violently’ or ‘the teenager covered his wounds with his hand and ran away’. But Blade doesn’t get this kind of treatment, even though he IS a victim of DH’s (past) actions. It’s just very easy to dismiss what Blade says as the delusions of a mad man, because the DH he’s talking about is so different from the DH we know (‘you who almost destroyed your planet. You who had no pity for your enemies’)

The tragedy of Blade being denied the status of victim in his own character story and because DH doesn’t even remember what he did to him….

I’ll be shocked if HSR actually let Jiaoqiu stay permanently blind because this is the same game that showed Churin falling into Nihility and getting out of there all fine and dandy

‘Don’t worry buddy I’ll find a doctor that can heal your eyes’ is wanting to have your cake and eat it too: putting 5⭐️ characters in life-threatening situations without them suffering severe, lasting consequences. It cheapens the tension in the story, but sadly that’s something MHY is incredibly good at doing

Robin and Sunday’s discussion on Penacony’s Dreamworld’s purpose was important as these two cruelly lacked screentime (which is baffling considering their supposed roles in Penacony mainquest) but I couldn’t but mumble ‘you guys are totally missing the point tho’

On one side we have:

‘The Dreamworld is just an excuse to run away from your problems, a temporary moment of respite, but in the long run it does more harm than good’

On the other side we have:

‘Some people are weak both in mind and in body and that’s why The Dreamworld exists, to give them a place in which they can feel happy and safe’

But at no point does either of the Chicken Wing Sibs mention the cost needed to simply maintain The Dreamworld

Guys, can we please keep philosophical rhetoric out of this and focus on the pragmatic side of this problem for one second
