My wip Wednesday contribution for our beloved fengqing 🩷 ft. secret relationship fengqing 👀
[Modern au/hotel setting
Mu Qing wakes with a start. He's sharing a room with Xie Lian. It's a nightmare. A really, really bad one. He's shaking, gasping for air. Xie Lian was still awake and goes to him, Mu Qing is panicking. He can't stop. He can't get it out of his mind.]
“A-Xin.”
“You--you want me to get A-Xin for you, A-Qing?”
“Yes."
“Yeah, yeah--yes, I will grab him. I can go get him-”
Mu Qing is sobbing, gripping tightly onto Xie Lian's sleeve and shaking his head. He can't be alone right now. No, he would go crazy.
Xie Lian shushes him, cooing sweetly. He convinces Mu Qing to let go of him so he can grab his phone and call Feng Xin instead.
Feng Xin answers groggily but as soon as Xie Lian says Mu Qing’s name, he sounds fully awake and Xie Lian can hear him stumbling out of bed.
“Don't leave him, I'll be right there.” And he hangs up.
Mu Qing does not like being touched. The fact that he's grabbing onto Xie Lian's sleeve is shocking enough. Xie Lian knows better than to try to touch him, but the sight of Mu Qing hugging himself, shaking and sobbing is absolutely heartbreaking. Unable to do much else, Xie Lian decides to model some calm breathing to help Mu Qing regulate. Mu Qing, although his eyes are squeezed tightly shut, does his best to copy Xie Lian's slow breathing, but it's difficult. The small whimpering sounds that shudder out of him make Xie Lian's heart ache.
The knock on their door comes much sooner than Xie Lian imagined it would.
When he succeeds in convincing Mu Qing to let him get up to answer it, he opens the door to the sight of Feng Xin still in his sleep clothes and looking a bit ragged. He's breathing so heavily Xie Lian realizes he must have ran here.
As soon as Feng Xin sets eyes on Mu Qing, he's bolting over to him, pushing past Xie Lian and only giving him a cryptic moment of eye contact.
Feng Xin hits the bed and sits, his voice unbearably gentle as he calls out to Mu Qing.
“Qing-er, I'm here.”
As quickly as the words are out of Feng Xin's mouth, Mu Qing's arms are tightly wrapped around his neck and his face is pressed into his shoulder as the sobs rip through him.
Xie Lian has already closed the door at this point, standing a bit awkwardly to the side. His hand dashes up to cover his open mouth as he stares at the scene before him. Feng Xin wraps his arms around Mu Qing's waist and pulls him close, a hand finding its way through Mu Qing's sleep-mussed hair.
“Which one was it, Qing-er?”
Mu Qing holds his trembling hands up between his and Feng Xin's chests and Xie Lian sees the strain he has to use to clench and unclench his fingers. “It hurts.” he sobs, “It hurts so bad, A-Xin, please--”
“The fire one-- it's okay. It's okay, Mu Qing. I'm here. I have you.”
Feng Xin encloses Mu Qing's hands with his own, as tenderly as possible, his eyes laser focused on Mu Qing's expression. Mu Qing winces, just barely, and clamps his mouth shut on another sob.
“It's okay, Qing-er. I'm right here. I promise you're okay. I know--oh, I know, baby. I know it hurts.”
Baby?
Xie Lian can't help but feel as if he's intruding on this private moment between his best friends. His best friends who have always regarded each other with intense animosity at the worst of times and determined rivalry at the best of times. His best friends who are… embracing each other. His best friends who are suddenly using nicknames for each other when they never have before-- and Feng Xin just called Mu Qing baby?
There is a lot to unpack here, but now isn't the time.
Xie Lian slips into the bathroom and grabs a clean washcloth from the towel rack and runs it under cold water. He squeezes out any excess, steeling himself for a private, quiet moment in the bathroom before he heads back out to the bedroom.
He walks back to the sight of Mu Qing trembling quietly with tears streaming down his face as Feng Xin cradles his hands close. Their foreheads are resting against each other as Feng Xin whispers encouragingly to Mu Qing. Neither of them notice Xie Lian, or at least that's what Xie Lian tells himself when he sees Feng Xin pull back to place a kiss on Mu Qing's hairline. An act so smooth and so easy, he must have done it countless times.
Xie Lian cautiously approaches the bed and offers the wet washcloth to Feng Xin. Their eyes meet and Feng Xin's expression turns complicated--pained. From the look in Feng Xin's eyes, Xie Lian knows they will need to talk later. But for now, their focus needs to be on Mu Qing.
Feng Xin takes the washcloth and gently lays it over Mu Qing's trembling hands. The other man clenches his teeth and a low, wallowing groan of pain rattles up from his throat. Feng Xin's lips are on Mu Qing's hairline again, and he murmurs quietly against the sweat-slick strands, “Shh, I know, baby. I know. It's okay. See?”
He presses their foreheads together again and brings Mu Qing's hands further up into the other man's view.
“See, sweetheart? You're okay.”
“I'm okay.” Mu Qing whispers back, sounding unconvinced.

Hello! 😭💖 I just want to say that this idea is a true masterpiece in the making, and I'm completely obsessed. I'm literally screaming, crying, and begging the Lord my God for this to become a fic because I NEED to see it come to fruition. 😭✨
The image of Xie Lian turning Paradise Mansion into the heart of Ghost City, guarding Wu Ming as his most precious treasure, as he becomes an unstoppable calamity that causes chaos in the celestial and mortal realms… It's TOO perfect! 👑🔥
Imagine that Wu Ming, in his coma, dreams of fragments of his memories with his beloved, and those dreams are projected through the nights of Ghost City into Xie Lian's mind when he is sleeping, causing all the ghost citizens to go crazy because of how realistic and heartbreaking their Lord appears the next day with a radiant, enamored look and the best day to present the scrap as a tribute to the Ghost Lord who collects a hundred things (XL: 🥰🕊️🌙 Ghost City: 🤔😊💰). Meanwhile, Xie Lian is desperately searching for solutions, perhaps facing ancient gods, forgotten curses or forbidden relics.
I repeat. The image of Xie Lian protecting Wu Ming as his most precious treasure, while slowly falling in love with his faithful believer, is so beautiful that it breaks your heart. Picture this: In his desperate search for a cure for his coma, Xie Lian begins to notice little details about Wu Ming that he never allowed himself before. 💔
How his features (There is no mask for our sleeping beauty), even in sleep, seem to convey devotion and peace, causing Xie Lian to reflect on what it meant to Wu Ming to be his most loyal believer. 🕊️✨ How his presence (albeit in a coma) calms Xie Lian in his darkest moments, making him doubt if he really deserves someone who still loves him even after tragedy. 💔🥺 And how Xie Lian starts talking to him as he takes care of his sleeping body, confessing thoughts and feelings he could never admit to anyone else, like his own fears, his exhaustion, and eventually his deep, heartbreaking love. 🥺🌹 Meanwhile, Ghost City becomes an extension of Xie Lian's emotional state. Their moments of hope fill the city with haunting beauty, like night flowers that bloom only under the moonlight, 🌸🌙 while their moments of despair cause storms and chaos that scare even the most feared ghosts. ⚡👻 (Qi Rong won't stand a chance)
Imagine also that, in a particularly heartbreaking moment, Xie Lian takes Wu Ming's hand and says something like: "If you wake up, Wu Ming, I swear I'll never let you go again. No matter what. You'll be my sword, my flower, my everything… My beloved" 😭🌹✨
And when Wu Ming finally wakes up (because of course he has to wake up 😭), the first thing he sees is a tear-filled Xie Lian, smiling as if his world has made sense again. 🌤️💖 Please, this fic has so much potential that it would be a gift for all WuLian fans! 🙏🥰
Feng Xin and Mu Qing trying to stop Xie Lian from destroying everything in his path is SO ICONIC. 😂👀 What if they also end up taking care of Wu Ming in clumsy ways, while dealing with the chaos at Paradise Mansion? (Oh, maybe not, because the first thing they said was to put Wu Ming to rest, Xie Lian vs FengQing for Wu Ming's body would be very SVSS inspired lol Very exciting)
Can I repeat again that this is a great idea? I'm begging with all my soul for this to become a fic. 🙌💖 Please, please 🙏, I beg you, if you have time, write this fic! It would be a gift for all of us who love Xie Lian and Wu Ming. 🥰💌 Thanks for sharing this amazing idea!
Último post do ano!!! [Last post of the year!!!]
Uma Ideia [An Idea] - Hualian
[After absorbing the resentful spirits of the sword Fang Xin, instead of dispersing, Wu Ming falls into a sort of coma. Xie Lian, who had just annihilated White No Face and the Celestial Emperor, collects the body (?) of his last believer and goes in search of something that could bring him out of this coma.
Along the way, he somehow ends up creating Ghost City and gaining the loyalty of the forgotten and wronged, all while causing chaos in the mortal and celestial realms. Wu Ming is kept in the heart of Ghost City, the Paradise Manor, as the most important treasure in the place.
Xie Lian, for lack of better words and explanations from the one writing to you, becomes a calamity. Protecting the Paradise Mansion with ferocity, to the confusion of many.
Feng Xin and Mu Qing are also here, worried and trying their best to get your highness back on track.]
Outra Ideia [Another Idea] - Beafleaf
[After Shi Wudu's death, Shi Qingxuan (who has not yet lost their divinity here) ends up going crazy and having a "strange" obsession with He Xuan.
This obsession becomes so intense and dangerous that Shi Qingxuan ends up keeping He Xuan as a captive in his own territory. And He Xuan, well, they has nothing better to do.]
#Please#amazing author! This idea is too beautiful#powerful#and emotional. The world needs this fanfic.#I'm jumping#crying#and begging for it. Please write this story#it would be absolutely epic!#calamity xie lian#wu ming#hualian#tgcf#tragic love#happy ending#🥰😊😭

#ShowYourProcess
From planning to posting, share your process for making creative content!
To continue supporting content makers, this tag game is meant to show the entire process of making creative content: this can be for any creation.
RULES — When your work is tagged, show the process of its creation from planning to posting, then tag 5 people with a specific link to one of their creative works you’d like to see the process of. Use the tag #showyourprocess so we can find yours!
Thank you for the tag Mimi @yiling-recesses ~ it was so fascinating to see how you plan and organise everything and then the editing process as well! ♥
I was tagged to show my process for my Episode 17 Post which somehow got relatively popular, in comparison to the rest at least, so I’m glad to share the behind the scenes of that post in particular. This is going to be a long ride so buckle up friends. ∑(O_O;)
1. Planning
First of all I have to rewatch the whole entire episode before I can even start on anything. So I usually sit down with pen and paper in hand and ready to pause at any given moment that sparks interest. In case there is a quote that sounds fancy enough to represent the episode I write it down, or when I see a scene or just a certain shot that catches my eyes I screenrecord that certain scene and save it in a folder for that specific episode. Over time I accumulate scenes here and there so I already form a rough idea in my head which scenes would look good together or would make sense together. Sadly this also sometimes leads me to have very few scenes because nothing really inspired me, or I end up with only one quote that I wasn’t even too sure about, but I just make the best out of it. So I basically let the episode itself be the whole drive and inspiration for my edit but I also try to not give away too much in terms of spoilers. So if you were to see it with the knowledge of what’s going on it’s supposed to be hitting a nerve, evoke a memory, or at least make sense, especially given in combination with the quote, but if you were to see this set without the knowledge of what’s happening I’d still like it to be interesting enough without giving away too much of the story. Do I even make sense, mayhaps.
This is usually what I end up with in my folder, sometimes I have about 20 scenes, sometimes 3, so for episode 17 this was a decent amount to work with! [Also please don’t ask why I name the clips like that, they made sense to me in that moment and it works somehow. And yes Wen Qing is the queen and there is nothing to stop her (メ` ロ ´) ] Now it’s time to look through the scenes again that I clipped out and begin with the actual gif making. I use Avisynth to rezise all the gifs to either the smaller squares, the “full” square or sometimes the longer rectangle - honestly I usually do these very much based on what I think would look good in my head and just decide based on that, so sometimes I end up making the same gif again just in a different size because I felt it was lacking impact or ended up looking better in another set. Sometimes I end up not using gifs I made at all ┐( ˘_˘ )┌
2. Creating
Now that I have this huge mess of endless gifs and pretty scenes that would work as a background loaded in my Photoshop I start to assemble. Given the fact that I always use the same 540x540 format at least the step of building a base is uncomplicated. The first part of the set I made was the lotus lake scene. The moments that were catching my eyes the most were mainly the close ups of the actual plant. Detailed close ups make my heart go boom boom. So I figured they would pair well with a scene where all three of the siblings were in screen to convey this mood of like ‘happy yunmeng trio being silly in lotus pier yay’, especially given the fact that it’s a fond memory of Wei Wuxian in this oh so painful episode.
So I have the base grid I always work with, the gif of our three beloved plus the two lotus close ups. From here on it’s just very trial and error where the still pictures fit best over the gif and I just tweak around for so long until it looks good. Once I am done with the positioning of everything I slap my watermark on it and my default colouring for these sets. Of course the default coloring action I made never works the way I want it to so I end up messing around with it for half an eternity to make all the different colours work together and look coherent which sometimes leads me to colour one single part individually and adding more filters to the background and what not. This is how it looked like in this particular edit ~
For the other two edits I basically repeated the same process just slightly adjusted to whichever format I use [this is already way longer than needed]. When I make the edits with four gifs in the middle I always have to shorten the gifs beforehand so they have the same amount of frames in order to make the whole thing work to begin with. Usually gifs with the same colour palette or same theme work well together so in this case the food and hands stood out to me [hands always do, always]. So I found the perfect set of gifs to work with that and just added a scene of Wei Wuxian in the background as he fell asleep studying the scripts and Wen Qing came to bring him food, since this is a big part of the episode.
Of course we slap on all the fancy stuff on top afterward and tadaa - it’s a gifset. At last I had the scene of Wen Qing turning her head slightly and I knew from the beginning that I needed to have that scene as a “full” gif as I was just struck with love. I had so many different things I put on top like frames and flowers or tried to put the gif in a certain shape - whatever, it just looked kinda bad - until I found this dragon png and finally had an epiphany. I must confess i didn’t mask out the dragon perfectly to fit behind her but I reached a point of desperation as my creativity of the day left me behind struggling.
3. Posting
Once I am done with all three edits, sometimes only two depending on the amount of clips I saved, I arrange them in Tumblr and check how they look best. This thing alone can take me forever unless I have a set that has a coherent background throughout all of the individual edits so I don’t need to worry about in what order to arrange them. But once I finally decided on that I go back to my notes of quotes and try to decide which one works best in regard to the criteria I mentioned above. In this set the angsty Jiang Cheng had the honor. For finishing touches I add the link to my other episode sets and all the tags to keep things organized and usually ramble a bit about the process or my feelings. That’s what tags are for, right?
Oof so yeah, that’s it. This turned out way longer than anticipated and I already edited this down...whoops.
I would like to tag:
@huigusu - for this painful beauty
@leonzhng - with this incredible masterpiece
@mylastbraincql - because this post makes me feel things
@fengqing - words can’t even describe
@lan-xichens - this set made me cry
No pressure at all to do this if you do not want to or have already done one before! ♥

A, T, W, X please :)
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed
Listen, I’m a very soft potato who falls in characters’ love easily, so listing all my favourite relationships is close to impossible, hahaha. Let’s see… BakuDeku remains my emotional support ship, in every possible version, and I don’t take constructive criticism. Maybe I don’t show it often enough, but TodoMomo is my second fav. Even if they don’t have many moments together, I cherish every little one. They’re precious. From platonic relationships, All Might and Deku are always number one Hero Dad and Son.
I might be boring but I love WangXian with all my heart, and BingQiu with my other heart. I’m also a big big big BeefLeaf fan. Now it’s time to throw rocks at me - be gentle - because it’s probably my most beloved HOB couple. Sorry. But I’m certain that I love every relationship in MXTX works? Recently I’m more and more found of FengQing. Don’t you think that Mu Qing and Bakugou have very different temperaments and yet very similar characters? As you can see, I have a pattern. BNHA and MXTX are my current fandoms, so I think I’ll stick to them but believe me. I have more. Much more.
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?
I have more than many headcanons, but choosing from all my fandoms is quite difficult. Hm. One of the ideas I’d shield with my own body is ‘Deku and Kacchan become partners as professional heros’. Shipping aside, I think we’re at this point where it was mentioned enough how they complement each other, learn from each other and can be better heros together. If it’s not going towards working side by side - and I think it does - I’m gonna be very disappointed. For a long time I was in the ‘If Deku is Midoriya’s hero name, Kacchan should be Bakugou’s hero name’ team, but recently I saw a very good commentary on how those two nicknames have different weight and though I still support this idea, I can also agree with other versions.
In this life, you can take away ‘He Xuan and Shi Qing Xuan work on their past and one day they’re happy together’ only from my cold dead hands. I’m not kidding, I have a very detailed story about them growing, mourning and living a happy family life. Oh, I know one more! Considering HuaLian are gods/demons and cultivators can be immortal, I adore the idea of the three main pairs living past their lifetimes and enjoying comfort of the modern society, where they meet the couple from the upcoming fourth novel.
W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom.
Ok, this is a very hard question because for me, tropes are nothing more than material and every trope can be done both good and bad? It depends on your author’s craft. MXTX gave me a lesson; there’s a bunch of tropes I usually dislike and yet I loved them in her writing. She portrays certain topics in way that is really enjoyable and believable.
I have some tropes which are, in my humble opinion, usually done bad. One of them is jealousy shown as a sign of love. I get it, everyone gets a little jealous when they care, but morbid jealousy and making a scene because of any word said to somebody else is not cute or romantic. I can accept it only as a recognized issue and a character flaw. I dislike ‘strong and independent female characters’ - usually they have personality of a fly hitting a closed window. Give them a weapon, tell to attack glass and call it progressive. A sword is not interesting. A well-developed character is interesting. Double points if said independent woman criticizes feminine girls… don’t do it or I’ll bite you. I’m not the biggest fan of miscommunication creating conflict, or ‘opposites attracts’ as it usually comes down to ‘we have nothing in common but we spent some time together and apparently it’s enough to fall in love’. But look, WangXian was able to use both these tropes perfectly! So it’s really not about the topic, but about execution. I have mixed feelings about good character/bad character ships; it’s one of my favourite tropes (look: BeefLeaf) but usually it’s either a masochistic relationship where one side is treated like shit, or it makes the bad character look like a loser/idiot. This trope has potential, why does nobody use it right?
X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.
Again, I’m the type who can love almost any trope but you already know it ;)
He Xuan is my favourite trope: a) a good betrayal with solid forshadowing, this is when angst hits the most, b) negative characters with human feelings who care about some people, yet in the end stay evil. What else… I absolutely love parallels. Give me history repeating itself, characters following up their parents’ mistakes, a hero and a villain portrayed as a crooked mirror. Any kind of hidden parallelism fires up my soul. I have also a soft spot for… give me a minute, it’s 1 am and I don’t know how to describe this trope. Characters who are very proud and ambitious but at the same time suffer from low self-esteem. Characters knowing that they’re talented, but never being good enough. I’m fine with zeros to heros, but I’m much more affected with characters who are almost there but who can never reach for the highest spot.
