JUST IN:Boko Haram razes over 140 residential houses in Borno Villages, loot foodstuff, Others
Associated individuals with Boko Haram agitators have attacked, Egiri, Zira I and II towns of Biu Local Government Area in Southern Borno Senatorial District, setting on fire more than 140 private houses, trucking away staple and animals.
Zira is 5 kilometers from Gur town which was assaulted last Friday leaving four people dead and setting burning private houses and vehicles.
Zira and Gur were tranquil networks situated close to Buratai, the old neighborhood of the previous Chief of Army Staff, General Yusuf Tukur Buratai.
As indicated by sources this is the second time the extremists are assaulting the town in the very month.
All endeavors to get affirmation from the Police was not effective but rather a dependable security Source in Biu Local Government Area affirmed the new annihilations by extremists in the three networks.

Menace of Casualization In Nigerian Companies
BY TAIWO OGUNMOLA-OMILANI Nigeria is a country that is weak in the area of enforcing laws and order; this give free hands to employees to do whatever they like knowing fully well that Nigerians need jobs to keep body and soul together. This gave birth to casualization which means having predominantly temporary workers rather than permanent workers. It is obvious that unemployment largely contributed to this development in a country that flows with milk and honey. The issue of casualization is having negative impact on the society and the employees. Then, the question is what is the government doing to end this menace. It appears President Muhammmadu Buhari has not done much to end casualization in the country. Investigations revealed that the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige sees nothing wrong with casualization despite the agitations of labour union. However, Casualisation contravenes Section 7 (1) of the Labour Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. Nigerians are looking up to both the National Assembly and the Minister of Labour to put an end to casualization. Here are the reactions of Nigerians to the menace. "I am sad that someone can be a contract staff for 10 years and employers will not bother to convert them to permanent employees. Hope Ngige, NLC/TUC will focus on this. Banks , oil firms/Insurance are all guilty. They are paying them from 30k -100k or so maximum. NASS pls intervene https://t.co/TRpBO9mu0s @Woye1 "The issue is that NLC is not doing what they ought to do. They are dancing around the government for a pot of porridge. Many organisations treat employees in bad manners and ways. An instrument should be created to stop/ban temporary appointment. Many organizations also refuse to implement the new minimum wage", said Unto Uto. "I have a Friend with @FirstBankngr Ibadan... She has been a contract staff for almost 11years. Several attempts to get the management of @FirstBankngr to give her full employment have failed. We need better Labour Laws in Nigeria. NLC/TUC and Ministry of Labour need to do better. - Kaytiki "This issue of contract staffing needs urgent attention. @SPNigeria @femigbaja should pls come into the aid of Nigerian youth. Many Multinational coys are now going for cheap labor and they call them outsourced staff and they pay them meager salaries. - Ooluwaloseyi "There is so much labor exploitation going on in both the formal & informal sectors of the economy with the leaders of these sectors earning outrageous renumeration at the expense of the workers some of whom are very qualified graduates. This is part of what disincentives productivity and creativity. -Ikenna Ochei Read the full article

*In Recent Time* (A poem in appreciation of Hon. Jimi Benson Exemplary Leadership) Isn't it a new dawn, He sets forth at dawn? Touching every lawn with humus, The new greenery is ubiquitous, All amazing animals humorous; Why? His mind is rooted in the people. Let me call it not a praise Haven't you seen it all for days? Leadership is action, not position. His humility wins it all. From him I've learnt, too, To act to all that iCARE! Townsman of a happy City, I see in him an institute with books of making differences, He demonstrates, less explicate. Look, mark me, he's set for bigger "prize" Like eagle to soar the sky. ‘We Are Sorry’: Osinbajo Apologises To Nigerians As Protests Against Police Brutality Continue

‘We Are Sorry’: Osinbajo Apologises To Nigerians As Protests Against Police Brutality Continue
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has apologized to Nigerians and admits the Federal Government could have “moved faster” in addressing the demands of #EndSARS protesters.
“Dear Nigerians, I know that many of you are angry, and understandably so. We could’ve moved faster and for this we are sorry,” he said in a series of tweets on his handle late Friday.
“I fully understand how many young people feel. Many feel that we have been too silent and have simply not done enough. These feelings of frustration are justified.”

Taking Responsibility
According to him, “There are far too many people who have been brutalized at the hands of the police and this is unacceptable.
“We must take responsibility for protecting young people, even sometimes from those who are paid to protect them.”

He also believes the protests rocking the country goes beyond agitations about the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
“They’re deep and systemic and we’re undertaking comprehensive measures that will revamp the police by addressing issues of welfare, service conditions, and training,” he explained.

Ongoing Work
According to the former University of Lagos lecturer, meetings have been held with several stakeholders in the country with a view to addressing the demands of the youths who are championing the protests.
“We understand that you want to see action from us and I’m here to tell you that work is ongoing,” the Vice President noted. “I chaired a meeting of 36 state governors and the Minister of the FCT (NEC), where we resolved to set up judicial panels of inquiry so we can see justice served, and fast.
“The reason being that only state governors, by law, can set up judicial inquiries in their states. The hearings will be public.”
While reiterating the disbandment of SARS, he assured that officers from the unit will not be part of any tactical squad.
Osinbajo equally commiserated with the “families of Jimoh Isiaq, and all those who have lost their lives at the hands of wayward police officers. To those injured, I wish a full and speedy recovery.
“We have proposed that each state government set up a Victims’ Support Fund, which will support. This is the least that we can do to compensate for the injustice suffered at the hands of errant officers.”
