hey horns... you kinda look sad. how r you doing?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Horns: Huh? You noticed?
I guess... I'm not doing too well. Sweets and I...
we managed to get revived.I don't know what will happen after this party...will we go back to being dead?
Will I go back to being who I was, helping only because...the only thing I could feel...was guilt?
Horns: This entire time, I've been thinking...they died because of me.
They have no clue. And I don't know if I even want to tell them.
Part of me knows I should. I want to tell them, own up to it...Fri- Ballin called it an 'apology'. But... I'm afraid. Not that they won't forgive me, no.
I'm afraid that they will.
Because I don't deserve that.

Note
Do you have a timeline for when you believe the humans fell underground (including Chara + Frisk)?
Well not necessarily anything specific. just a few things that mark some VERY wide margings for what i have in mind
Chara fell in 201X, as per the calendar with the circled date.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was after the Dreemurrs (and thus monsterkind in tow) already left Home to explore the rest of the mountain and settled in New Home. This is deduced by the wall writings in Waterfall, which bemoan the underground's inaccessibility, saying there's no way a human could ever make its way down there.
Tumblr media
So New Home already existed (or was soon going to be founded, if the plaques were written while the monsters were still exploring) before any human had fallen into the Underground at all.
However! The childhood room in Home is referred to as Asriel's room in both the game files and in the art book (the screenshot is from the Home segment of the book)
Tumblr media
Which would mean Asriel was born close enough in time to the monsters' banishment to be alive when they migrated further into the caverns (and to already have personal interests, like astronomy), and that he was likely snooping around his previous home in the RUINs by chance when he found Chara.
I think Chara spent a LOT of time with the Dreemurrs... but less so chronologically. They likely had reset powers like all humans who fall into the Underground as a consequence of their high DT (from the Undertale Legends of Localization book):
Tumblr media
(I actually think this was the intended implication with their inappropriately light approach to death and pain, ie: laughing in that one videotape about making Asgore sick), so I like to think that, while they obviously stuck around for a long time, they techincally were only with the Dreemurrs for 1, maybe 2 linear years. Which would explain why they seem... hesitant to call them their child/sibling. From their perspective, it was too soon for those words at the time. Either that or Chara was uncomfortable with familiar terms for whatever reason. I tend to ping-pong between the two.
Chara dies and so does Asriel -> Asgore cringe comp -> Toriel bails.... And then bam, the next humans start falling down.
l think the entire affair took centuries in total. Surely a lot of time, enough for most commonplace monsters to have no idea what a human looks like
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At LEAST one century, that is, but that is the barest minimum. There's this one line in the date with Sans at MTT resort when he's talking about his first meeting with Toriel:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I'm not saying Sans is aware of what's going on or that this makes incanon sense, but knowing UT's propensity for tragically poetic irony, this feels like one of those occasions.
I in my personal chronology, the humans fell either 1 or 2 per century, putting Toriel's exile between 300 and 600 years long.
The order? uhhhhh. dw about it
Thus, Frisk falls down in 2X15. Monsters are freed, everyone is happy. Yay yayay ^_^ yippee. The End.

Siffrin vs Asriel Dreemurr!
Conditions:
Act 5 Final Boss Siffrin vs God of Hyperdeath Asriel.
Scenario:
Asriel begins to reset time in an attempt to regain his childhood with Chara. This pushes Siffrin into the full depths of their mental breakdown, as he refuses to let his experiences with his family be erased.
Analysis: Asriel
Long ago, two races ruled over the Earth: Humans and Monsters. Then, one day, a war broke out between the two races and the Monsters were sealed underground by paranoid Humans. It wasn't until years later that a human ever saw a monster again.
This Fallen Human, named Chara, was found by the young Prince of monster royalty, named Asriel Dreemurr. The two quickly forged a close sibling bond as the Dreemurrs adopted the child, getting up to all sorts of mischief and play. Chara grew to sympathize with their new Monster family and hatched a plan to set them free from the caverns of Mt. Ebott.
Chara would poison themselves by eating some beautiful flowers and then have Asriel absorb their soul. Asriel would use his newfound power to cross the barrier that sealed monsterkind underground and gather the souls of six other humans to destroy the barrier completely, freeing monster kind. But... Asriel could not bring himself to take a human life when the time came and instead put his friend's body to rest in their home village. The Humans saw Asriel carrying the body and assumed he killed her. Even if Asriel had been willing to fight back, Monster bodies are weak against the killing intent of a human. Asriel had barely enough to strength to make it back to his home before his body turned to dust.
This dust landed on a glorious golden Flower, which was experimented on by one Dr. Alphys. Alphys injected the flower with an element known as Determination, a component of a human soul that could control time. Resurrected without any of his emotions intact, Asriel fell into dispair. He took the name Flowey the Flower and set about using his newfound ability to SAVE and RESET the timeline to torment the Underground, basking in his new philosophy of Kill or Be Killed.
One day, a new human fell into the Underground. Frisk, the last human soul needed to break the Underground's barrier. Flowey would use them as a pawn to absorb the six human souls that his heartbroken father had collected in his grief stricken rage, before then absorbing the Souls of all the monsters in the Underground.
Asriel was reborn as a God and he would use his new power to relive his idyllic childhood forever. Reset everything to Zero and have it all over again.
As a Monster, Asriel already had the ability to directly attack, destroy, and even absorb human souls, but when he became Flowey, he became something that was not quite a Monster either, giving him the ability to destroy Monster souls as well. As such, unless and entity has the ability to resist one directly interacting with their soul, he could easily absorb or destroy it in one blow with any attack. All Monster attacks are known to effect the soul directly.
Avoiding said attacks is easier said than done, due to the wide variety of them at his disposal. While they might be named childish and immature things like Hyper Goner or Giga Blaster, they are still Bullet Hell attacks with a very wide spread and the potency to potentially end the entire world. His Hyper Goner attack, for instance, casually erased an entire timeline and that was before he ramped up to using his full power.
Moreover, his Determination can override the time powers of other people. Even Omega Flowey was strong enough to completely erase Frisk's save file and prevent them from saving the game. Asriel is far stronger than him by this point and could very easily reset you back into an attack and just... kill you over and over again. Or reset the entire timeline so that you never existed.
Asriel is easily the most powerful thing in the entire underground, but the power came with an unexpected boon. He could feel emotions again. Moreover, he could feel the love of all the souls inside of him again. Not only could the souls within him turn against him... they could remind him of who he once was.
Asriel was Asriel again and he felt all the pain and grief that he'd been unable to feel for years crashing into him all at once now. Asriel's god-like form faded away and revealed who he truly was. A scared, traumatized child balling his eyes out and desperately wishing to see his friend again.
So, Asriel processed the grief and he let himself move on. He shattered the Underground's barrier and let all the souls within him go free. He would fade back into Flowey again soon, emotionless and cold again... but he could finally let his family move on.
Analysis: Siffrin
The journey is nearly over. The Heroes of the land of Vaugarde have arrived at their last stop. The King plans to freeze the entire Kingdom in time forever and only these five plucky heroes stand in his way. Mirabelle, the Chosen One, once a mere Housemaiden at the House of Change, handpicked by the Change God themself to save the day. Isabeau, the Fighter, a former Defender who quit his job in protest of his cowardly coworkers to help save the land. Odile, the Researcher, from the far away land of Ka Buan, researching a mysterious subject. Bonniface, the Kid, a plucky preteen hoping to rescue their sister from being frozen in time. And Siffrin, a rogue with a mysterious past that even they don't remember. They're the only ones who stand between Vaugarde and its eternal fate. Their battle tomorrow will decide the fate of everything.
As such, Siffrin immediately dies from a rock. Well, that was quick.
Siffrin wakes up at the start of the previous day again, with all his memories in tact. As it would seem, he's stuck in a time loop, repeating the final battle forever until they defeat the King.
Luckily, Siffrin has all of the skills he needs to carry their team to victory. Despite his missing eye, Siffrin is the fastest of the team, keeping a keen eye out for traps and treasures and leading the group through dungeons. Combat in this world functions on the basis of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Literally. Due to their bladed weapon, Siffrin is Scissors aligned, being highly effective against Paper foes and weak to the blunt force of Rock attacks. Despite this, he does eventually gain the ability to use attacks aligned with Rock and Paper, giving them full coverage in combat.
In a fight, Siffrin knows sufficient Craft spells to allow them to speed up himself or allies, lower enemies attack and defense, heal allies, and allow himself or others to temporarily heal overtime. This is all culminates in Siffrin's ability to keep his memories and get stronger from loop to loop, gradually growing stronger over constant retries until he's completely outstripped his teammates.
With literally infinite tries available, it was only a matter of time until Siffrin and his found family defeated the King. But, that's not where it ended. He looped again without his consent and woke up the previous day. Now completely at a loss for what to do, Siffrin would gradually go insane repeating the past two days over and over again. Trapped in an eternal prison only he's aware of that not even death can save him from.
As it turns out... the true architect behind Siffrin's misery was the forgetten magic of Wish Craft.
Craft is the magic system of this world, through which one literally Crafts the target into the shape of their own will. Body Craft crafts your own body, while Time Craft crafts time. This ability is reliant on the user's own power, rendering certain feats impossible simply because no mortal being could possibly muster up the energy required. Hypothetically, using Time Craft to stop time for even a single second would kill a person instantly from sheer exertion.
This is where Wish Craft comes in. Wish Craft, well, crafts wishes and calls upon the full power of the Universe itself to grant them. That's how the King can stop time, by being empowered by the very Universe itself.
Now, Wish Craft can do some pretty ridiculous things. Things such as turning people into sentient stars, creating perfect doppelgangers of people with all their memories, erasing all color from the universe, and even erasing entire countries from existence so hard no one can ever remember they existed.
Such is what happened to Siffrin's home country. One day, Siffrin just woke up without a home. No past, no name, no family, nothing. Being found by Mirabelle and joining her on her quest was the only purpose in life he could remember. They were the only family he had left.
So, Siffrin made a wish. Wishing that when the journey was over, he wouldn't have to leave his family behind. The Universe combined this Wish with the Wish that Vaugarde be saved by the heroes and trapped everyone in a time loop. Now the heroes will always save Vaugarde and Siffrin will always have their family. Forever.
As the time loops are centered around Siffrin, they respond to his ever deteriorating sanity as Siffrin tries to escape his unknowingly self made prison. Stuff like Siffrin's memories impacting reality. Siffrin can use their memories from each time loop as equipment for various different effects. Memory of Sadnesses causes foes to run in abject terror of them and Memory of Emptiness can resurrect him the instant he dies and bring them right back into the fight on the spot. Siffrin can even give up his memories to fast forward through time, provided he's already lived through those events.
As Siffrin dissociates from reality, reality itself breaks in response. Anything that violates the mandate "Save Vaugarde" and "Keep Siffrin with family" resets on the spot, be that death, non-lethal incapacitation like getting put to sleep or frozen in time, or even an action that permanently damages his relationship with his family. Undone. Gone. Reality itself begins rotting. Ghostly versions of Siffrin from past loops appear and dissipate. People get trapped in time loops of repeating the same dialog or trying to exit the same room over and over. Memories of the past overlap with reality until Siffrin can't tell what's real anymore.
As the time loops run on Siffrin's own raw power, amplified by the universe as it may be, he's constantly starving as a result of sustaining it. Eventually, he can barely even stand.
In the end, Siffrin's power transforms him into a giant starry monster, passively eating stars out of the sky as his raw power threatens to end all reality. In a grueling confrontation with his own family, Siffrin breaks the universe so hard color starts to exist again.
....Really, the final fight here is just the final battle of Undertale from Asriel's perspective, huh?
Thankfully, Siffrin does not blow up the world. An emotionally fraught conversation with his family, reassuring him they’d never abandon him, calms them down long enough to burn out all their Wish Craft. With their Wish technically fulfilled, a content, freshly traumatized Siffrin vows to continue traveling with their family. Putting the demons of their past behind them.
Siffrin will never be able to return to the home he lost. That's just a simple fact. But after this fraught journey across Stars and Time, Siffrin can find a new home, with a new family. Here. Now.
Throwdown Breakdown:
This is pretty blatantly the most thematic fight we've ever had on this show and I'm comfortable in saying that it's actually fairly close.
Seeing as how these two break time just by existing, speed more or less equals out. Though Siffrin would have a slight edge from speed amps as the fight wore on. Attack power, however, is a different story.
Now, I was gonna go into detail examing how many loops Siffrin and his counterpart Loop have likely created in order to make an estimate for how big the In Stars and Time universe is and how many timelines it has.... but the creator in a Q&A says no.
Tumblr media
One timeline. One universe.
Undertale meanwhile, is more up for debate. With no official statements on how big the universe is, Asriel could be destroying as many as 6 or 100 timelines depending on how you interpret certain lore, such as the different SAVE files and the various FUN values. This would give Asriel an exponential advantage in strength, far beyond what Siffrin's ability to manipulate stats would compensate for.
Though, even if Asriel is interpreted as strong as possible and one shots, Siffrin would just time loop straight back. The King learned that the hard way. Or didn't learn it because it got Time Loop- you get it.
Asriel's Determination wouldn't likely interfere with Siffrin's loops. Determination users may be able to override each other, but that's moreso just because that's how Determination works. Wish Craft is a different power source entirely, one granted to Siffrin externally by the Universe. As such, Asriel, say, keeping Siffrin from moving as he did Frisk or destroying Siffrin's soul would just get looped away.
So, could Asriel simply run out the clock until Siffrin burns up all his Wish Craft with hiw own time powers. Definitely possible, but I do see a few things in Siffrin's favor.
1. A solid skill advantage. In the epilogue, Siffrin goes to visit their sole companion through the time loops, named Loop. Loop reveals that they're actually a previous version of Siffrin who never got free from the time loops and now they want to steal his happy ending.
Siffrin no longer had Wish Craft. He could not loop. Loop still could, indefinitely. And Siffrin was fresh off of nearly working themself to death just sustaining his power in the final battle. Despite this, Siffrin won simply by beating Loop over and over and over through sheer skill alone that they completely gave up.
Combine that with Siffrin's experience traveling with the party leading up to In Stars and Time and Siffrin has a definite advantage. Asriel's experience in combat amounts to tormenting the exact same people over and over again with no real risk of failure because he could always just reset. That's a stark difference.
2. Fear. Memory of Sadnesses allows Siffrin to passively instill fear in his opponents. Asriel, particularly at this point, is susceptible. Not only does he have no resistances to emotional manipulation, but he's just now feeling emotions for the first time in years due to finally having souls again. In that particular headspace, supernaturally instilled fear has a high likelihood of being devastatingly effective on him. After all, we see how badly Flowey reacts to suddenly being able to feel fear after all this time in the Genocide Route. Unlike Frisk, who is the Player's puppet, or Chara, a kinda abstract demon ghost thing by the end of the Genocide Run, Asriel has no defense.
Siffrin, meanwhile, has gone completely off his rocker by this point in the story. His desperation to keep his family and escape the time loops has peaked, so they annihilate anything in their way with ruthless efficiency. Since Asriel is a direct threat to their family here, that malicious intent, when combined with his faultering Determination, will be very effective in wearing the God of Hyperdeath down into the terrified child Asriel is deep down inside.
So, in other words, Siffrin wins by being such a terrifying monster it breaks Asriel's will to fight entirely. Exactly the kind of monster Siffrin fears that they are deep down, further fueling his desperation to hold on to his family and making the events of Act 5 even worse. No one wins and everyone is unhappy with this outcome.
This Throwdown's Winner(?) Is...

Question
In your gravity fell AU, who is Papyrus playing?
I get A LOT of questions about UF!Papyrus in Gravity Fell, I've answered it more than once but here it is one last time:
UF Papyrus is Shermie Pines, the third Pines sibling + Dipper and Mabel's grandfather who's barely mentioned
UF Papyrus' personality didn't fit any of the main cast of GF, and i genuinely didn't want to just- cram him in there since it wouldn't make sense to have someone who's a family member to sans/stan there, Y'know?
I'd like to imagine he's overseas, away from all the chaos. Since he was born as stan/sans was kicked out of the house + Gaster/ford went off to college he never formed a strong bond with either of his brothers, same as Shermie
I hope that answers this specific question of who UF Papyrus is in Gravity Fell :] I know it hurts not having THEE Papyrus in my take but I didn't want to just shove him in there for the sake of it-
Tumblr media
Not at all anon :]
Tumblr media
tysm anon!!! it means a lot to know ya like them hehe 👉👈
The whole skeleton family connects to the Dreemurrs! But I'd like to think it's most Gaster since he's technically the oldest and most "competent" (not my words, Prob Asgores lmao-) one

UNDERTALE TFS AU MASTERPOST:
there will be undertale and tfs spoilers in this post! you have been warned
꒦︶꒷꒦︶ ๋⭑꒷꒦ ˗ˏˋ꒰𖦹。♡♡♡♡♡♡.ೃ࿔꒱ˎˊ˗꒷꒦꒷꒦︶ ๋⭑꒷꒦
key: important text highlighted in green
so first im gonna explain the basic characters
frisk - patty
chara - a nevadan child, shares resemblance to patty.
flowey - henry's radio (trust me ittl make sense)
toriel - virginia
sans - hopper
papyrus/alphys at the same time? - bob (might be bobbie because i kinda wanna keep the lesbian aspect of alphdyne LMAO)
undyne - joyce
mettaton - alan, please dont ask why i thought it was funny
asgore - victor creel
photoshop/omega flowey - mindflayer and henrys radio
hidden true lab scientist, based mostly visually off of gaster - brenner
the amalgamates - lab children 002 through 010
asriel dreemurr - henry creel
and i think thats it?
BASIC STORY
its basicallt undertale just with a few twists and different things, such as henry and nevada child meeting before cave incident, and disclaimer creelby isnt a romantic relationship as the characters have a more familial / friendship dynamic,
henry thinks of vadena (and therefore, patty) as a friend and kind of sibling, like how asriel thinks of chara (and therefore frisk) as a friend and somewhat sibling.
theres two versions of this au, but ill be telling the original here. (some things arent canon to undertale but then again im kind of making shit up as i go with some things so its fine)
PRE GAME LORE:
a long time ago, a boy went missing in a cave atop a mount in hawkins, he tripped on a vine and went tumbling into the underground. this is henry (so by definition he is the first human, i suppose. he isnt really, though)
the underground is kind of like the other world in coraline, except theres nothing creepy about it, its just better. virginia and victor - as toriel and asgore respectively - are still henrys birth parents by logic. Henry finds himself immediately taken in by the kind goat-couple, and instead of buttons in eyes like coraline, henry just sort of goatifies himself (keep in mind henry was very young when he went missing in the cave in this au - around 3-5 -, he only really remembers life in the underground.)
so, years go by, nothing happens, until a week after henrys 13th birthday, another human falls down into the underground (unnamed nevada child aka - who patty reminds henry of instead of chara, ill just be calling them vadena cause its a simple anagram of nevada lmao)
he finds vadena after their fall, helps them, etc. everything we see in the normal game, and the lore follows as much until vadena falls seriously ill due to their plan to break the barrier and eradicate humanity with henry. he leaves his radio and spyglass on the floor near the barrier in his hurry, this isnt like him at all ( this bit is important gang). henry does the same as asriel and absorbs vadena's soul as they die and takes their body through the barrier to the stardust casino, as it was vadena's dream to see the lights flickering on the signs.
the humans, seeing this all powerful goat being holding the body of a dead child, assume that henry killed them. they attack henry, beating him near to death just like in the og game, and he doesnt fight back, you know all this stuff.
as a weak, battered and bruised henry stumbles back home to the castle, he falls to his knees infront of the radio and spyglass and turns to dust. (this is how he becomes the au's version of flowey, brenner uses the radio for his determination experiments and it becomes sentient due to the essence of henry being on it)
anyway. in his greif, victor declares all humans that fall down to be killed, virginia doesnt agree with this, divorcing him and taking vadena's body with her to be buried in the flowers from which they fell.
PRESENT GAME LORE:
patty falls down, they're met by a talking radio who only introduces himself as a member of the secret squadron, so patty just calls him radio (i cant think of any names god help me). radio does the whole "im gonna teach you how to fight, friendliness pellets!! woo!! in this world its kill or be killed!!" schtick before patty is saved by virginia, lore goes as follows until we meet hop and bob.
hopper is sans, but he looks like papyrus as it better fits with the proportions of the characters in st canon. bob looks like sans but is papyrus and alphys, etc. bob wants to be a apart of the royal guard by using his technological skills to help capture humans, bob is made a royal scientist for this but he still tries to show off his skill by capturing humans in snowdin.
boom, puzzles are all the same, snowdins the same, you fight one of bobs decoys instead of him as he is busy moving to the lab anticipatinf pattys arrival, we move to waterfall.
joyce is trying to hunt patty tf down so watch you ass patty, (tem village is just a village full of ted wheelers even though hes aaron because hes stupid and its funny)
joyce does not succeed she just collapses at hotland like ingame and patty waters her and she pisses off after that (can you tell im tired right now)
anyway patty meets bob at the lab and hes like "hows my favourite human doing? im like basically your brother from another skeleton now i have to look after you".
alan is a nuisance because why not make a murderous and flamboyant robot into a zesty theatre kid. patty wins against alan SLAM HIM GO ON and they move on to new home, tells the story of henry and vadena blabalala (instead of a worn dagger its henrys captain midnight spyglass, still dusty, which is just great isnt it)
victor fight goes as normal, he uses a bayonet ww2 rifle instead of a trident which is cool, patty beats him and boom evil radio stole all the souls,
he resets your save file and turns into this massive mind flayer resembling monster, with large mandibles and a demogorgon mouth with a spiked tongue. the radio replaces the tv screen on normal omega flowey, and theres a small tv ontop of it which displays memories from henrys life. patty beats him and neutral route done!!
TRUE PACIFIST
the true lab is basically hawkins lab, its ran by brenner and all of the amalgamates are test subjects 002 through 009 (henry was previously subject 001 as brenner found it interesting how he had turned from human to monster and now had a monster soul, also brenner is half human half monster if that interests anyone.)
brenner tries to stop patty from leaving with the information they have so hes a boss fight but bob saves them so yippee.
anyway asriel fight, henry is the god of divine retribution, he wants to rid the world of the injustice he faced by the humans using his god like powers, his second form is more human, as he absorbs the human souls he transforms back into what henry would have looked like at 14-16 if he hadnt of turned into a goat thing. eventually patty beats him and happy ending, if you go back to the ruins befire credits you can talk to henry as his normal form, you can do stuff with him and have cute little wholesome moments (and with enough talking you can bring him with you to the barrier because he deserves it!! i also made a secret ending where you can backstab henry and kill him because i felt like it (it isnt a real game i just make scenarios for it)
GENOCIDE
basically patty just kills everyone, they break into true lab and kill brenner, they kill everyone EVERYONE and vadena takes control of them at the end. (every monster patty kills loses their eyes like how vecna kills people)
i hope this sums it up im really tired right now lmao
( @elijbclawz i tjink you wanted to see this.. sorry for the tag so late )

Once again remembered this song and had a realization
Warning Dreemurr sibs angst ahead
The Dreemurr siblings. Post-genocide Chara talking to Flowey
I mean. Hello???
"Oh, brother of mine /It's been a long, long time / Since I've seen my face in your eyes" this is not just about the time that passed since their death, but about Flowey and how the only thing he sees is this twisted caricature of who Chara used to be
"Oh brother, I've returned / To my burn scars of birth / Charcoal and iron brought me back"
They returned. Both to the flowers on the surface, their own death brought them there - but also to life, in the no mercy route, thanks to the human's actions
"And I watched the burning grow as my hair filled with grey / From the ashes that fell / The mountains I knew so well"
I imagine Asriel died while still carrying them. His dust didn't spread on just the flowers, but his sibling too
"Oh brother, I see / You burn like me / The singes on our skin like a brand"
Soulless siblings gang, both fucked up by something they never wanted to happen
"Oh brother, I confess / There is little of me left that could care about dousing the wildfire"
Chara is beyond caring anymore. They'll continue letting the human complete their mission. It's too late now to do good anyways.
"Brother, I watched the sky burn / And all I learned was smoke fills the lungs like a disease"
Maybe they learned about the apathy that comes with what's being done to monsters
"Oh brother, did you know / You could just strike a match? / Hear him scream my name one last time"
Tumblr media
"Oh brother, I am home in the fires of our youth / I could care less if it hurts you anymore"
They start in the Ruins, in Home, which they used to live in. Flowey 'recognizes' them there. They see themselves in the mirror. They go to New Home, where Asgore resides - with the way everything is there, it's almost like they're young again. And yet, that's where they strike Flowey down.

Because I must linger on every tragedy I encounter in media, I was thinking about what Chara and Asriel’s lives would have been like if they had lived.
Maybe they never came up with the buttercup plot, maybe someone figured out what was happening in time and stopped them - whatever changed to make this possible, let’s say Chara and Asriel both made it to adulthood.
First of all, I think Chara definitely would have joined the royal guard. Even setting aside the fact that the average human is far stronger than any monster, Chara has… mixed feelings towards humanity, to say the least. The Dreemurrs became their family, the Underground became their home. If then were willing to give up their life to save their family as a child, they would absolutely be prepared to put their life on the line to protect their home as an adult.
Now, this may not have been an easy ride for them. At this point, Gerson would have been captain of the royal guard and I doubt he would have given them trouble because of their human heritage, but I can’t say the same for the other guards who joined to defend their home from humans. However, considering that in this world Chara would have been publicly raised by the Dreemurrs, general opinion of humans in the Underground would probably be significantly higher. Chara, at least, would almost certainly be seen as “not like other humans.” This, combined with their own seeming distaste for humanity, also makes me think that Chara would have eventually adopted accessories and clothing that made them appear less human, whether that meant Undyne-like armor or Kris-like horns. Due to their strength and (likely) ability to reset, Chara would have quickly risen in the ranks of the royal guard. Any human who fell during their career would have been hard-pressed to get past them, and they probably would have been instrumental in collecting several souls. However, considering that Gerson would have been much younger at this point and not yet ready to retire, I don’t think they would have ever made captain.
Meanwhile, Asriel would have grown, while Toriel and Asgore aged. Without the deaths of their children and Asgore’s declaration of war on humanity, I think they would have stayed together (what, non-divorcee Asgore? Couldn’t be). Eventually, Asriel would have been crowned king. I think this would have been another crossroads for the siblings. Near the end of Toriel and Asgore’s lives, Chara likely would have realized their parents may die without ever seeing the sun again, and wanted to take whatever risk necessary to ensure that didn’t happen. However, an older Asriel with years more guidance from his parents prior to ascending the throne would likely be firmer in his pacifism, less willing to follow any desperate plan to break the barrier. This disagreement may have driven a wedge between them for some time, especially in the years after their parents’ deaths. I do think they would have worked through it though, especially as Chara aged.
Of course, even if Chara lived a long, long life, they would have died of old age eventually. I imagine that Asriel would deny this for as long as he could - being ageless has its consequences, and no amount of preparation could make the death of his sibling easier. Still, there is no resisting time. Eventually Chara would have died. Afterwards, I imagine they would have requested to be cremated, turning to dust just like their parents, just like those beings they long ago accepted as their own kind.
At the end, King Asriel would be left with one more human soul. What he did with it is anyone’s guess.

😶 A random headcanon!
About our dear Chara?
Oh hi! Hi hi hi hi
Thank you so much for asking something, let's see if I can finish it before the day is out, huh? (this took a week, I am so sorry)
*Tries to find something that wouldn't be covered by the other questions*
Okay so...
😶A random headcanon about Chara
Chara is a bit of a technophobe. Not so much for big analogue machines with wires and gears found in Gaster's lab but the common amenities of the household...phones, computers, consoles... what are these things? How do they work? What in the angel's name is even the appeal?
They're like someone's 80 year old grandma trying and failing to understand these horrid newfangled human devices...
You leave them alone in a room with a laptop for less than a minute and they will download a deadly virus just trying to log on...
Asriel's doing something on the computer and Chara is leaning over his shoulder, completely dumbfounded, trying to understand (you can imagine little question marks floating above their head here...)
Chara's reaction to any sort of memes or social media or internet lingo never failed to amuse Asriel
Especially when Asriel shows them this meme and Chara makes the exact same face and Azzy cannot stop laughing
Tumblr media
Let's just say that Chara Dreemurr has many skills (I sometimes joke that they have the exact skillset that would make them a wicked cultured anime villain, (as they should be)) but understanding the internet is certainly not one of them.
Makes sense, though, that they wouldn't really get modern amenities. Back on the surface, their parents house had nothing newer than a gramophone, and they never left the house or interacted meaningfully with anyone else (humans are all evil, manipulative creatures, they say...while working on a sample size of about two)
And more than that, they've certainly never interacted with anyone their age which is what leads them to going in to monster school with an attitude of "teenagers are probably interested in the same things as me, like rules and authority!"
Ahem, back on track...
Post-pacifist, Frisk and Asriel use Chara's lack of knowledge with anything internet to tease them relentlessly...
Frisk becomes a deez nuts joke dispenser for like two weeks after learning this, Flowey tries to convince Chara that kys stands for keep yourself safe and that you should totally use it in casual conversation and Frisk tries to rickroll Chara only for it to go completely over their head and they somehow take it as an actual love confession and "Oh! This is incredibly sweet dear and I certainly cannot blame you for your feelings but is this really how...(they did not like the song)" And Frisk is just like 'it was supposed to be a meme...!? But..." (uses the opportunity to start flirting). Also if there's a certain new joke or trick going around, you can gaurantee that Chara is the only one in the friend group that hasn't heard of it which makes them always the prime target.
Frisk or Asriel find videos like "try and say Coca-Cola without your lips touching" or "how the hell you spell Chauffeur?" (which is particularly funny as Frisk would definitely call them fancy pants) to try on Chara and then they both burst out laughing at the fact that Chara even fell for the trap and actually forgetting to give the punchline.
Now, you might be wondering is it really that funny? Is the fact that your sibling or friend still calls emojis electric stickers at like 18 (5 years since they came back to life) really worth breaking your ribs (or petals) laughing over? but they're both annoying little gits and honestly...neither of them like Chara very much (not to start with anyway)
It's basically like "Typo in the group chat! Get their ass" but like...almost all the time
It's times like this that Chara wonders if this timeline is actually their personal hell for their crimes of emotional manipulation and attempted murder
apparently, the angel gives their most socially embarassing moments to their most dependent on positive affection soldiers (oh Chara buddy i'm so sorry)

I hope when we meet dess she's a bit fucked, maybe similair on the level of flowey levels of fucked up (not in the same but similairly bad) let weird that girl be weird and off putting and maybe even a bit cruel, twisted by the time she has spent missing (or maybe she was always a little fucked up, she didn't come back different you just refused to see the signs of something being wrong)
Anyway sorry for the ramble I just think about the older holiday dreemurr siblings I need both of dess and asriel to be a bit mean to break that idealised image
Yeah, I feel you on that last one, for sure. There's definitely this sense that both Asriel and Dess are being lionised in their absence, and that the truth is more nuanced than what we're being shown.
Assuming the current theory to be correct, that Dess somehow fell through the game's code and is trying to get out, I honestly believe that she's definitely not going to be the same if/when we do eventually find her. You wonder what that would do to a person, discovering that their entire world is a digital fabrication because they fell into a part of it they shouldn't have been able to get to. That's gonna mess anyone up, for sure.
I expect that Dess was probably quite the tearaway even before all of That, however, given that we know Noelle looks up to people who scoff at the rules (i.e. Susie). And given how strict and controlling their mother seems to be, it's easy to see that Dess would rebel against that, and perhaps Noelle saw her as a bulwark against their mother's more authoritarian parenting style. Like, having Dess around would give Noelle permission to be the good girl while also indulging in subverting the chief authority figure in her life. But that's definitely me speculating there, and honestly I wound up talking about Noelle more than Dess... whoops!
Either way, great ask, and no need to apologise for rambling! We love a good ramble around these parts :D
