#FeliquanCharlemagne is a 17 year old #activist. He's the National Creative Director of #ZeroHour and Florida State Lead for US Youth Climate Strike. Like me, he was born in the Caribbean, and immigrated to Florida with his family as a child. If you've been paying attention to hurricanes and the state of the Bahamas lately, you know how badly islands like the one he is from, #StThomas , can be affect by climate change. I think a lot of people don't know that Florida is extremely flat, and areas are already starting to become nearly unlivable because of the increased flooding from rising sea levels and stronger storms. It's really amazing to me to see him fighting for the exact issues that touch me and my family so deeply. "The rest of my life is literally on the line. I’m going to have to grow up in this if we don’t take action and don’t turn it around. And my kids will have to grow up with it, and my grandkids. It’s not a question of whether we know what the effects will be. We know the effects, and they could be even worse than what we think they are. We’re already seeing the effects everywhere, and it’s just going to keep getting worse and worse. That’s not the type of world I want to live in.
