Friday Finds: Captivating Coral Hues are Trending in 2019
Could it be possible that some warmer weather is finally here? It has us in the mood to brighten up The Home Idea Factory and to add some color in our interiors.
It seems like we aren't the only ones that are clamoring for color - the recent International Builders Show and the Kitchen and Bath Show had more color shown on products than we had seen in years. Living Coral has been named Pantone's 2019 Color of The Year, and it's a color that is being embraced by manufacturers and consumers alike.
According to Pantone, "Living Coral is a vibrant, yet mellow hue that embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment."
When you are investing in luxury products let's face it, you need to choose a color that you love and are willing to grow old with, and this color definitely fits the bill. Elmira Stove Works, a leading manufacturer of premium vintage-styled kitchen appliances, has added it to its standard colors, and we can't wait to see some finished kitchens with this in them. It would be so perfect for a beach house by the ocean, or a casita in Arizona, or any place in between. The beautiful thing about the Northstar collection is that you get all of the vintage charm teamed up with the latest in technology - the best of all worlds!
Feeney is a company that we had discovered recently when we were looking for options for the stairs leading down to our pool at The Home Idea Factory. Their tag line is “Feeney Makes it Easy” - just what we were looking for!
We didn't want to lose the view and needed something that would be maintenance free. Their panel infills are incredible, and you can choose from fun laser cut aluminum panels that are powder-coated in standard or custom colors, and they have stainless steel wire mesh options as well.
This DesignRail® Aluminum railing with a Captive Coral powder coating is just enough of an accent to add personality to any deck or stairway.
Colored grout is such an overlooked design tool. The right grout color can make even a basic white tile look like a custom design. The addition of this Litokol Starlike® grout in Captivating Coral by Tile Doctor to these white subway tiles adds tons of personality to a white on white kitchen. This would be so fun in a guest house, or a child's bathroom as well. After visiting their website, I can’t wait to learn more about this resource - my Lifestylist mind is on idea overload!
Speaking of bathrooms, Amba Products has introduced this Vega Towel Warmer in our favorite new color. It would be perfect in a room with the Starlike grout. I think we are designing a place as we write this!
Captivating Coral is showing up in other areas as well - you'll be seeing more of it in clothing, fabrics, and furniture.
The new Signature Kitchen Suite Experience and Design Center in Napa has a beautiful kitchen vignette showcasing their new Wine Refrigerator and Pro Range and went with barstools in this accent color which help to define the space.
Let us know where you spot this trending color, and where you would use it in your own home.
