A Night In

Request: Hii may I please request a Damian x reader one shot where there’s a school dance and the reader’s not really into that so she stays home but Damian plans a little night out for them and they’re just at this cute location with the perfect setting and they’re just slow dancing and being superr wholesome. Thank you!

A/N: Y/F/F - Your favorite food, Y/F/N - You favorite movie. Also Damian is 17 

Word Count: 1875

Y/N and Damian are sitting under a tree and eating their lunch like they normally do everyday. While Y/N is leaning against the tree eating her lunch in peace, Damian is on edge and kind of nervous because he needs to ask Y/N an important question.  

“Hey, Y/N I have a question for you” Damian ask nervously.

“You already did,” Y/N laughs, “sorry but I had too. But what did you want to ask?” Y/N says.

“Well you know the dance is coming up in a few weeks and I was wondering if you wanted to go to the dance?” Damian asks nervously with his hand rubbing the back of his neck. 

“I don’t really like dances Damian. There are boring and not really my scene. I would rather be at home in my PJ’s while I am cuddled up in my bed watching TV” Y/N says. 

“Oh okay” Damian says a little disappointed that he couldn’t take Y/N because he has had a crush on her for a long time now, and he wanted to take Y/N to the dance and tell her how he feels. Y/N looks over at Damian and sees that he is a little sad. 

“I am sorry that I can’t go with you Damian. Maybe we can do something else another time” Y/N says and Damian gets snaps out of his trance.

“It’s okay, it wasn’t a big deal. I was just seeing if you were going or not” Damian says trying not to sound too hurt about. Then the bell rings, signaling that lunch is over. Y/N and Damian clean up their mess and start to walk to class. Damian walks Y/N to her class like he always does and says bye. 

---------- Skip to the end of the school day and Damian is coming home----------

Damian comes home after dropping off Y/N at home like he does everyday, and runs up to his room to change into workout clothes and go downstairs to the workout room. He sets up at the punching bag and starts to throw punches. After a few minutes, Jason, Dick, and Tim comes into the workout room wondering what’s going on with Damian. 

“Hey Damian did you already drop off your girlfriend” Jason says with a smirk.

“Did you give her a big old kiss too” Dick says trying to hold back a laugh.

“I bet he kissed her on the cheek” Tim says joining in on the fun. The day that they all found out that Damian has a crush on Y/N, everyone starting to pick on him a little. Even Bruce and Alfred get on him a little when Y/N comes around. 

“Shut up” Damian says angrily punching the bag harder. He is used to being picked on about Y/N and normally ignores it, but today is not the day because he knows that Y/N is not his girlfriend and his plan to tell her how he feels has already failed.

“Hey, is everything okay? Did you ask Y/N to the dance yet?” Dick asks. Dick saw that Damian likes Y/N and wanted to help him. So him and Damian came up with a plan on asking Y/N to the dance and giving her the best night of her life, then tell her how he felt. 

“I did ask and she said no because she doesn’t like dances and rather be home in bed,” Damian says and starts to punch the bag faster. “How am I going to tell Y/N now. You know that I am not good with this stuff like you guys are. I need a plan in place and my plan has already failed without it even starting. I am confused and frustrated on why I can’t just tell her” Damian says start to slow down his punches. Dick comes behind him and puts his hand on Damian's shoulder.

“She might have had said no because I asked her to go to the dance” Damian says showing his insecurities now. 

“Stop thinking like that. She said it herself, she doesn’t like dances. We just need to make a new plan and I have one for you” Dick says with a big grin on his face. That whole day Dick and Damian planned out a date to take Y/N on to win her over.

------------------------------Time skip to the day of the dance --------------------------------

Damian pulls up to Y/N’s house and parks in her driveway.

“Thank you Damian. You know that I should pay you something for driving to me and from school everyday” Y/N says.

“There is no need for it Y/N. I like driving you to and from school. We get to talk more this way” Damian says with a smile.

“I see and talk to you everyday, but I don’t mind seeing and talking to you a little more” Y/N says laughing. All Damian could do was smile because Y/N says that she doesn’t mind seeing him more. 

“Well I hope you enjoy your night in and not at the dance” Damian says and Y/N laughs. 

“Thanks. I hope you enjoy the dance” Y/N says while unbuckling her seat belt.

“Oh I am not going to the dance tonight” Damian says getting a little tense. Y/N is shocked because she knows that Damian wanted to go to the dance. Damian looks over and sees Y/N’s shocked face

“The girl that I wanted to go with said no” Damian says while looking down. Y/N is shocked again because Damian never told her that he liked a girl, and it was unusual for him not to tell her something. Now there is an awkward silence in the car.

“Alright bye now” Y/N says and gets out of the car and goes into her house. Damian watches Y/N goes into her house and lets out a sigh. He drives home to start getting the night ready for them. While Damian is out getting ready for a night out, Y/N is getting ready for a night in. 

After a few hours of getting everything set up, Damian goes home to get changed and goes to Y/N’s once again. He pulls up into the driveway and slowly wakes to the door. He takes a few deep breaths and rings the doorbell. 

Y/N hears the doorbell and is confused because no one was supposed to be coming tonight. She pauses her movie, her second movie of the night, and crawls out of the bed to answer the door. Y/N opens the door and sees Damian in his PJ’s.

“What are you doing here in your PJ’s” Y/N says confused but excited too because she gets to see and hang out with Damian.

“What?! You don’t like my PJ’s” Damian says laughing.

“No, no that’s not it at all. You actually look good in them. I’m just surprised more than anything” Y/N says smiling not trying to check out Damian in his PJ’s. 

“Well come in” Y/N says so she doesn’t start drooling and opens the door wider.

“Sorry love I didn’t come over here to come in” Damian says and Y/N feels her face heat up because he called her love.

“Then what are you here for?” Y/N ask shyly 

“Follow me and you’ll find out” Damian says with his hand out. Y/N grabs it instantly and follows Damian’s lead. They get into Damian’s car and start their long drive. During the drive, Y/N and Damian are just talking and singing along to the music that is playing, which is a playlist that Damian made specifically for Y/N. After a 55 minute drive, they finally stop on top of a hill where you can see the city of Gotham.

“What are we doing here Damian?” Y/N asks. Damian doesn’t say anything and smiles. He turns his key to turn off the car, but the music is still playing in the background. He gets out of the car and goes to Y/N’s side to open the door.

“If you follow me, you’ll find out” Damian says with his hand out. Y/N takes his hand and follows him a few feet to see a setup on the ground. The closer they get Y/N is able to see that there is a make-shift bed with hanging lights all around it and in the middle of the bed there is a picnic basket and laptop.

“What is all this for?” Y/N says in amazed by all the work that was put into this. 

“Well I already told you that the girl I wanted to take said no. The reason why she said no was because she would rather stay in with her PJ’s on, cuddled up in bed, and watching movies. So that’s what I did for her. I just added food and beautiful scenery, too bad it can’t match her beauty” Damian says with a smile on his face and steps closer to Y/N.

He takes a deep breath and says, “I have had feelings for you Y/N for a very long time now. You are the most amazing woman in my life right now and probably forever. I have told you some of my deepest, darkest secrets that I haven’t told anyone before. The reason why I told you because I trust you with my life. You are the yin to my yang, you complete me and keep me balanced. I wanted to tell you this for a long time and I don’t know why I couldn’t tell you. So Dick helped me come up with a plan to ask you to the dance and win you over that way then tell you how I feel. That didn’t work out, so I we came up with this instead. Um…. did I do good?” Damian says and ask nervously.

Y/N smiles and says, “I think you did a great job.” 

A slow song starts to play out from Damian’s car.

“Perfect timing,” Damian says and holds out his hand, “would you like to dance?” Damian asks. Y/N nods and takes his hand. They do a cute slow dance and at the end of the dance, they look into each other’s eyes and start to lean in. They soon contact their lips and sparks fly. This is the moment that Damian will never forget and the same for Y/N. Once they separate from the kiss, Damian is blushing with a big smile on his face and so is Y/N.

“That was amazing” Damian says and Y/N nods in agreement. 

“So over here I have Y/F/M ready to be played and I made you Y/F/F” Damian says.

“This is truly amazing Damian, thank you” Y/N says and hugs Damian.

“No problem, there is more of this to come” Damian says and smiles. They both start to walk towards the bed and sit down on it. They start the movie and to eat then enjoy the night together.
