also i saw a dimitri bumper sticker while on a delivery. imagine my shock when i realized what the blue shape with blond hair next to "honk if" was. couldnt read the rest, the text was too small, but he was laughing maniacally, so. not encouraging on multiple levels.

yeah forreal! like i said, i dont have a hard stance on it but it is definitely a really valid interpretation of that dialogue (but not the only one i guess) and the implications are super varied. definitely interesting to consider

the one thing it would ABSOLUTELY change the meaning of is claude and balthus’ paired ending and woof is that a whole thing

this is the only REAL thing that might imply nader is claude’s actual dad. it wouldnt surprise me if he was but im undecided on what i think lol. he certainly is a mentor figure for claude tho absolutely. just claudes a secretive guy and he’s very very cagey about who nader actually is in VW, i think it would be pretty in character for him to keep that obfuscated

HM 👀 okay this is VERY interesting, I’d never seen this dialogue before and it would make for a very compelling reveal, especially with how casually he treats Claude.

The only thing I have to wonder is, if in line with this theory, why didn’t Nader bring the full force the of the Almyran army to the CF paralogue?

Also that makes him retreating with his own life in the Deirdru invasion leave a RLLY bad taste in my mouth 😭 just for the whole father abandoning his son thing

honestly theres a diff bw a canonically bi character and a badly written lesbian

edelgard i might agree w you more (she genuinely doesnt express interest romantically in ANYONE of any gender outside of a romance w byleth)

but like soleil from fates WASNT bi, she was a lesbian that was treated v badly. and i think its very reasonable to read dorothea that way. i do! she spends all her supports flirting with women and talking about how dull and uninteresting she finds men, and the only interest in them she expresses is in what marriage to them could bring her

and i think its important that we as bi women not only defend bi characters and fight for bi representation, but also to look at media as a whole and the ways in which bi characters AND lesbian AND gay characters are routinely mistreated, and think critically in a meta way about which is which

because there arent any ‘canonical’ lesbians or gay men in the game, and you know why? its not bc dorothea (for instance), a fictional character w no agency, identifies as bisexual, but because they did not want to cut content for their straight male audience. gay men are an alienating factor for straight men, thats why there is only one mlm option in the game, whereas wlw content is commodifiable for men. hence girl byleths three or more options

the thing ultimately is that the game wasn’t written this way for me and you as bi people. they wrote it this way to appease The Gays™️ so as not to incur the kind of controversy fates had, while also not alienating straight people.

and to take that and make it your own and see yourself in it is a good way to consume the media! but the same should go for lesbians, because the game has actively harmed them in different and more numerous ways than it has harmed you or i

i truly understand the impulse to grab onto any character you can and not let go, because bi rep is definitely a huge issue! its a big issue in this game even for the same reasons i listed up there! but there are broader patterns at play here, and its important to look at what you are given (and why you were given it) critically and with broader context and perspective
