Nepenthe is a mun aged 20+ server that allows characters across varying fictional media (drawn, animated, live action, literary, etc).

The setting is the afterlife, set in a city split into two halves. The North District, which is fashioned after a larger city and allows the usage of powers and abilities, and the South District, which is fashioned after a smaller, cozier town, and bans all powers. There is a subway that runs continuously between them.

☾ Muns must be at least 20 years old. Characters must be at least 18 years old.

He speaks matter of factly. “It’s nothing really… I just had alot of free time to read when I was younger.” A soft blush arises around the bridge of his nose. “It’s beautiful, but… yeah. You’d be right. It’s called dea-“ He’d stop himself mid sentence, realizing something. “Death Camas. The name kinda gives it away, but It keeps itself alive by… taking lives. Because of that, it keeps the dirt around it soft and fertile, but… you can’t actually farm near it, cause… anything that grazes on it is gonna go for a long nap.”

“They’ve carved out their own home wherever they pop so most people tend to leave them be.”He’d say, uncorking a vial at his hip. “Some people in the army use them to coat their weapons, so it goes for a lot at market-. Nobody else wanted to risk their life, so I ended up being the only person willing to go out for stuff like this, even if I had a decent rank.” He’d pull it out of the ground in one swift motion, bulb and all and debate taking it with him. Instead… he clears out a space in the dirt and puts it back in, recorking the vial at his hip, letting out a sigh.

“Even if it’s poisonous, they’re just living. It can’t help that it’s bad for someone. But, also-, I think they represent strength, since they’re making a home for themselves, despite the stress.” As he stands up from being crouched down for so long, and simply turn back to her, a tad bit surprised at something, so he’d let out a gentle comment.

“You kinda… smell like a farmers market. Like the ones with all the exotic hoshidan fruit they’d have in Cyrkensia.” A short pause. “It’s rather nice, I mean.” He’d just, place a hand on his neck in shyness.

After the compliment he’d casually move along with her until they reach a river, at least 100 meters across. The water’s not moving fast like it’ll sweep you across the river if you fall into it, but it looks deep, like it’ll at least go up to Daedra’s shoulders while standing. Percy would use the time to clean his hands, finally taking the gloves off and splash some water over his face.

There’s flat rocks scattered throughout the river, one would need to jump between them to cross. He’d softly elbow her side. “If… you can cross before I can, I’ll make you something totally free. Some oil, or perfume or whatever you want, like a potion or something.” Bro has no idea what he’s in for, but he’d get ready, in case she did accept, taking off his boots, and tome and placing them into his backpack, securing it shut. “Or if ya want you can just go back and I’ll tell you about what I saw.” The goading felt natural to him, he was pretty curious if she could handle the heat or if she’d back down from the challenge.

@nohrs-lost-soul // continued: ‘Not everyone leaves well enough alone, stays outta business that ain’t their own, but all my favorite people do~.’ “We’re almost there-.” He’d assured her. It was around the afternoon, it was pushing it a bit, by his calculations, and likely her own, they’d get back just before nightfall, where the more… concerning things would be out. He’d kept a tome by his side in case of emergencies and the brown box on his back was mostly empty, aside from the tool he had kept inside. He’d asked her to come out with him mainly because he was interested in showing her something interesting he found deep in the forest, and lowkey as an excuse to show someone else his process for harvesting herbs to make various alchemical items. It was a creature comfort to still be good at working with his hands, even if he wasn’t a fan of fighting anymore. As he walks through the forest, he’d intermittently grab various spices and herbs, all being ones that he’d subtly nerd out about, saying the scientific name of each one, mentha Spicata, thymus Vulgaris, citrus Aurantium… His interests ranged from the normal herbs that smelled pleasant like mint, fairly obvious in its purpose as an anti inflammatory, neroli, a beautiful citrusy smelling flower used in perfume and cooking, “For when you want to smell like a fresh orchard”, to the less obvious-. “We’re not there yet, but… this one’s my favorite.” He’d point to a beautiful array of flowers, each standing straight up a about a foot tall with white and green accents, as he’d crouch down, his face and fingers inches away from it. He’d be effectively a medieval Snow White, the bees barely noticing him as he crouched down gently and watched them float in and out of it and past his fingers.

"All right, that--eii! That's good!"

Daedra was doing her best to be mindful of the woodland terrain. As much as she liked keeping eye contact in conversation, she thought it best to keep her eyes towards the floor. Mostly to prevent her boot from getting snared in any hidden roots and vines.... again.

Thankfully, she never considered herself too much of the 'dainty' type, so roughing it wasn't too much of a problem. Clumsiness was a different matter, but the redhead was reasonably proud of herself for keeping any visual blunders to a bare minimum on this trip! With a wicker basket looked over the crook of her arm, she did her best to maintain Percival's pace and not let herself fall behind... or in a ditch.

It hadn't taken much to convince her to come on this 'detour'. While there could have been prep-planning done back at the camp, the promise of getting to see pretty flowers was too much for her to pass up. Considering Nohr's harsh climate, Daedra had been convinced that no blossoms could grow.... anywhere!

"Your knowledge of all the plants here is really impressive, Percival! Not to mention useful-- I don't think I'd know much of what to look for out here, if I were in dire need. Atleast aside from the basic healing herbs used in common potions-- those I make sure to know!"

When her companion came to a pause, Daedra took the time to catch herself up a bit, hurrying her steps so that she was now beside the mage compared to some paces behind. Upon seeing the plant he gestured to, her eyes lit up as she took in the sight of the lovely, delicate flower.

"Oh, how pretty~ It almost seems impossible for such a thing to live in Nohr. I suppose it's not fair to judge it on appearance alone then."

Even if he has to put on his armor, he prefers to go out without a mask or covering his hair. His assignments would be in the Mountains during the Winter, so his odd colored hair helps him blend in during stealth missions.

Brief Description:

Percival's a quiet, calm individual who loves meeting new people and especially learning about their code of honor. Ever since he deserted Nohr, he feels that the best way to enjoy his newfound freedom before he's recaptured (if they even care enough to look for him) is to find out more about the world and incorporate that into his worldview.
