What if I...talked more about this?? I have just thought of a few more things for this world and I want to hear your thoughts.

In terms of people finding out about Fate and how she inhabits Dream’s body on occasion, Blue is actually the first to find out. It’s during a council meeting, where they’re all talking through and finalizing a plan to kill and capture Nightmare and the gang and Error (without having Blue in the knowing when they first brought it up, of course). Blue is horrified at this and tries to make them see reason. ‘Dream’ stops him. Confused and hurt and betrayed, Blue starts getting angry at his friend (and Ink, who sits next to him and is silent), but something nagging at the back of his mind stops him. 

He’s been having suspicions lately, ever since he started hanging out with the bad guys. Nightmare would tell him what Dream used to be like. And he thinks about those things and how they don’t make sense in context to what Dream is saying now. He thinks about the other times he’s talked with Dream, how different he seemed to act sometimes, almost like there was two people with the same face and name. 

A snippet of conversation between Blue and Fate:

Blue: “You’re not Dream, are you?”

‘Dream’: *laughs* “Blue, what are you talking about? Of course I’m Dream! Who else would I be?”

Blue: “I don’t know. But Dream, he always refers to Nightmare as ‘brother’. Or on the rare nights, ‘Nighty’ or ‘Night’. He nevers uses his brother’s full name. Never.”

Fate: “...is that so?” *looks back through Dream’s memories* “Ah...I suppose that’s true. Interesting. I hadn’t cared to notice.”

Blue: “Who are you?”

Fate: “I’m not so sure that’s the question you should be asking. More like...what am I.” *leans back, taking control of the council(sans Ink)’s code* “Kill him.”

Blue has to run for his life, gets pretty wounded, but Ink finds him moments before he can fully scape the Doodlesphere. Ink and Blue have a chat, it’s revealed that Ink is as forced to create as Error is forced to destroy, Ink then helps Blue escape (of course putting him in harms way because Fate will be angry with him) and tells him to not come back.

Blue does the logical thing: go to Nightmare and tell him everything, who, after having a bit of a mental breakdown over learning this, then tells Error, who also has a slight, but bigger, mental breakdown, and they plan how to save their friends/family.

Once they arrive, the only person in the Doodlesphere currently is Dream/Fate. Ink is off somewhere (and the gang has split up: Killer and them off to find Ink and basically let him in on the plan while Error, Nightmare and Blue distract Fate). They had a slight chat, where Error tries to discreetly CHECK Fate, which doesn’t quite work because Fate is Fate and can control whether someone checks him or not.

She scolds Error slightly for performing a CHECK without permission.

Fate: It’s just disrespectful and rude.

Error: You literally ruined my life and made me immortal.

And there’s also this really cool scene I have in mind where, after telling Error to try again and the CHECK shows up still with Dream’s information on it (because Dream’s soul is still the only soul in the body. Fate is not corporeal.), apologizes and leans forward. A thread of the CHECK box, something nobody should be able to touch, comes off and Fate grabs it and pulls, making the CHECK box shudder and reverse, rewriting itself before everyone’s eyes.

What were you expecting? It’s something more than a God.

I have no other ideas until further into the fight. Oh, by the way, Error and his friends and Fate start fighting.

Further into the fight, a crack rings out when Fate tries to use his magic. He doubles over, holding his chest, only surprised. It seems he’s been in Dream’s body for too long now: Dream’s soul has quite literally started to break under all the pressure. He’s now on a time crunch and Nightmare and Error and Blue are now very hesitant to continue fighting and risk accelerating things.

Ink and the rest of the gang have not arrived yet.

It’s here, or close to it, at one of the stalemate’s like this, that Error recalls something very important. Before he ripped Fate’s coding out of himself, before he regained control of himself, there would be moments where he would black out and come to in the middle of a fight. He would loose months or years like this. And he would always wake up to new injuries, new dust coating him. It was always his own. It all stopped after he ripped himself free and he thought nothing of it.

Until he heard about Dream. Their symptoms matched. It made sense that, being what Fate created, Fate would parade around in his body sometimes and make him out to be crazier than he was. He was the perfect vessel too, an immortal body that will never die. It’s with this new knowledge that he proposes a deal to Fate.

A snippet of conversation between Error and Fate:

Error: “I propose a deal. I rewrite your coding back into mine, give you back control, and you take my body instead of Dream’s. I was your favorite once before. I’m offering to be it again.”

Fate: “And why should I agree?” *Another crack sounds from Dream’s soul*

Error: “Dream is weaker than I am. He’s not a glitch. I am. You said it yourself. Glitches are indestructible. I can injure, my bones can break, but I will never die. I’m the perfect body to host something like you.”

Fate: “Oh, alright. I’m intrigued. Give it a try. If you successfully rewrite your code, without losing your mind to the immeasurable to pain you will be in as you do so, then I will accept. If not...”

Error succeeds, Fate abandons Dream (letting just fall in the mud and rocks and whatever else is on the ground) and takes control of Error, just in time for Ink and the rest of the gang to arrive. They see Dream on the ground, still, Nightmare crouched next to him, Blue standing a few feet away looking upset, and Error standing in the middle of it all, laughing manically. 

His laugh, though...Ink can’t help but think something’s wrong with it. It sounds...it sounds like a mix between his regular laugh and someone else’s, high tones and staticky sounds masking it just enough that it takes Ink a few moments to really place it as Fate’s.

And...Idk what comes next yet.

Oh, also: Before Blue found out, Dream had been slowly meging with Fates essence. This means that he started to remember tiny bits of what happened when he was possessed for a while, each with more detail until Blue finds out. Then, once he's released from Fates control (Ink had reminded Fate that she couldn't be in Dreams body for too much longer without consequences and Fate agreed to give up control for the night as long as Ink didn't tell him anything).

Unfortunately, Dream ends up remembering Blue figuring it out and how he was almost killed and demands Ink tell him everything, which he does.

And that's it.

Here me out on an idea I had.

So, Forced God of Destruction Error, right? But also Forced God of Creation Ink. These are both prominent things in this idea. So is Fate itself. Because in this idea, Fate can possess Au Sanses–and I’d say just Sanses because there are an abundance of Sanses in the UTMV. 

But her favorite Sans to possess is Dream. 

Why? Well, he’s the closest friend of Ink’s. And Ink is her favorite. Dream is also the only one to know Ink is forced to create the AU’s. It’s like the perfect person for her to possess. And the only ones that know she can possess people are Dream and Ink. 

There’s also the thing about how a deity possessing someone destroys the physical body after a while. That’s very much true here. Whenever Dream is possessed, Fate has no concern over keeping the body safe. They’re just there to make sure Ink is creating as he’s supposed to. So, when Fate uses their powers to mess around with the AU’s, they pay no attention to how Dream’s fingers literally catch fire after an hour under the strain of it. They pay no attention to how, if they stay in the body for days at a time, Dream’s soul starts to crack and wither. They don’t usually have a body, so why should they care about keeping this temporary body in prime condition?

And also, Fate prefers to take control at unexpected times. One night, they’ll go to bed like normal, and Ink will wake up to Fate in Dream’s body in the kitchen, ready to shadow him for the day. There was even one time he took control during a fight and Ink didn’t find out until afterward, when they were back in the Doodle Sphere. But he usually takes control while Dream is sleeping, and because of that, Dream tends to force himself to stay awake in hopes that Fate won’t pay them a visit for a while longer. Ink had already told him he doesn’t need to sacrifice his sleep for his peace of mind, but Dream chooses to ignore him. Ink hates it, but at the same time can’t bring himself to argue. It really does help him focus when there isn’t a possibility of waking up to Fate standing over him again.

And…that’s all the main ideas I had for this specific idea. I think it’s a relatively neat idea to explore, if Fate can possess people. Especially in the universe of FGOD Error.

2. Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?

Kinda a mix of both? I mean, sometimes I get the idea and just go for it. And then sometimes, and I'd say most of the time, I daydream about it first until the lines I'd write become so clear to me, it's like I have no choice but to write them down.

Now, if only any of my daydreams would become that clear and stop this month-long writing break I didn't plan...

2. Where do you get your fic ideas?

Oh, a mix of places! Some I've found on TikTok (usually just prompts for bits of a long fic/oneshot), some I've read on Tumblr/Twitter (usually just AU's to write and explore), some I've just thought of and had popped into my head (like my one idea w/ FGOD Error and FDOC Ink and a Fate that can possess people, usually Dream), and some I'm heard from other people and been so infected by the brain rot, I've written it on my list o things to write.
